Another outstanding dinner at Court Street. It was a bit breezy inside as we were seated right near the front entrance. Overall really like the ambiance here. Aunt and my husband both ordered the avocado BLT salad and I got the Luau Wrap. The avocado ranch sauce that comes with the salad and the wrap is really good. The sauce is a bit on the runny side but it really adds good flavor. The luau wrap has huge pieces of shrimp and lettuce, nice and crunchy. It came with either fries or tater tots. My aunt's and husband's salads were missing the avocado, which at first they thought might have been buried. After further inspection they both realized there was no avocado (on an "Avocado BLT salad"? Haha) They called over our server, Ivan, who was surprised as well the avocado was not there. He immediately brought out a cup of diced avocado and all was well. Ivan continuously checked on us during our visit and was a great server. The prices here are reasonable. The outdoor seating is spacious and comfortable, overlooking the courthouse. Definitely coming back again. read more

Court Street Pub is aptly named since it is both on Court Street and is directly across the street from The LaSalle (lay-sal? Yeah, it's weird) county courthouse. I was so sad that the Chicago beef egg rolls were not currently on their menu; I've had the same sort of thing elsewhere and they were delicious! Luckily that left room to have the fried pickles and they were so good. Sometimes if you get fried pickles somewhere they're too deeply battered, but these had just a light coating that was very crisp and my mouth is watering now thinking about them. I ordered the Call Me Big Popper burger, and it was really good. It actually wasn't as hot as I expected--I didn't really experience a lot of spicy at all--so that was a little disappointing, but luckily the burger is good regardless. It came on thick slices of grilled toast, which I think I liked better than a burger bun. The burger patties they use at this place are the thin burger patties that are often more typical at diners or something. My partner got the CSP burger and he enjoyed it a lot. For a side he got the baby potatoes and they were really good too! They have a gaming area where you'll find poker or whatever type machines. A bar, obviously, though I didn't drink anything but water whilst here. The bathrooms could be better--the ladies' has one air dryer, no paper towels, and the air dryer is placed somewhere it's blocked if multiple people are washing their hands. That's pretty annoying. But overall, I would return for a meal. read more

I really enjoy the burgers and atmosphere. They have a great selection of burgers to choose from with all kinds of crazy flavors for your palate. They have a front patio in the summer with live music from time to time. The waiters have always treated me well and are polite. It's rare for me to go nuclear on a restaurant. I try to give these places the benefit of the doubt. But Court Street Pub dropped the ball incredibly hard when I came to visit on Sunday, May 30, 2023. My 5-year-old son and I had finished hiking at Starved Rock and we raced to Ottawa since we were camping at Illini State Park and we needed to get our tent set up before sunset. Court Street Pub had good Yelp reviews, so we stopped by. Although there was a host desk outside, there was no one attending it. As we waited, we saw other people just walk right into the restaurant. Did they have reservations? Did they just cut in front of us? We'll never know because the host never showed. As I stood outside with my visibly frustrated son, I waited for someone to help us. Eventually, a frazzled server asked if we'd been helped. I asked for a table for two. He whipped around and scanned the restaurant and told me there wasn't a table available. Then he spotted one with abandoned dishes. "You can take that one," he said, "I'll clean it off." He took the plates, but didn't wipe down the table. So we started waiting. And waiting. And waiting. No joke, at least 15 minutes rolled by while I sat at a table littered with crumbs. We were never offered a menu. We were never offered drinks. My son was losing it. I looked up their menu online to try to expedite things. Other people showed up and stood in the doorway as no one helped them. There appeared to be a 12-year-old boy running food to the tables. Still, no one acknowledged us. We gave up and left and went to McDonald's where a mostly toothless young woman somehow handed me an incomplete Happy Meal. And that was still a significant improvement over Court Street Pub. At least someone talked to us... read more

The star is for the food quality and that alone. Placed an order on the phone, and clarified when doing so that they were separate orders/checks. When picking up the order, the employee assisting me was extremely annoyed, short tempered and unprofessional due to having to separate the totals. Separate tickets happen sometimes, especially when placing orders for an office during the lunch hour. Easy 5 stars! Massively impressed with this place. After a few hours of hiking at Starved Rock we wanted to try someplace different. Court caught my attention as we went through town and I didn't regret the choice. For starters they have a great beer menu, especially chalked with lots of local IL flavor. I went with two of those options. The food menu is a far shake ahead of your typical pub grub. I'm a white meat eater so the chicken bacon ranch wrap caught my eye. Delish. Seating here is low table, high table or bar..which is a fairly lengthy bar. They feature two large glass garage doors that open to better weather than we had the other day. I do not take lightly giving such a poor review and wish I could think of something positive to say. We selected this establishment over an Italian pizza restaurant because we thought there would be more food options for our party AND this pub shows over a 4 star rating on Yelp. They have several draft beer to choose from, but the two I requested were out. The cheese curd app was tasty (first time for me not being from the Midwest). Two of us ordered the cod fish tacos with side salad. Lettuce came from bagged mixed greens and had black mold throughout each of our bowls. We brought it to the attention of the server and she stated it was 'the red lettuce' never acknowledging the situation and did not offer a different side. She did not return to the table except to ask if we were ready for the check. The cod street tacos were deep fat fried with an unrecognizable (taste) red sauce on small amount of cabbage in street taco flour tortilla, likely from store bought brand. I ate one taco, unsure why. Husband got BLT salad on Texas toast. Bacon was tasty, salad mix ok. Pub fries were hot and nicely battered. Brother n law ordered a roast beef sammy (can't remember exact name). He said it was good along with coleslaw just the way he likes it (creamy). This was sports bar food that came from bagged, frozen food resources. Nothing was freshly made. They had a DJ playing music within the outdoor seating area that was so loud we could not visit at our table sitting in center of room. The service was very poor especially given the potential for food illness that was clearly present in the mixed greens. Can't believe this passes inspection by the state. Wife and I were craving burgers and tried this place out... Wow, the burgers were fantastic. I tried the Bad Ronald ( their version of the Big Mac)... Phenomenal. My wife had a CSP Classic burger and hers was really good as well. Everything was hot & fresh with crispy fries. Cheese curds were made to order and had a buttermilk batter on them also very good. This is a neat little pub nestled in on court street in Ottawa. The interior is very cozy and inviting. Tables are spacious and chairs are comfy. They have a good selection of beers on tap if you are into IPA's. However other than a delicious Oktoberfest that I had there are no ambers and a couple of Stouts and ciders. Seriously not everyone likes that stuff. But I digress. And the Oktoberfest was pretty darn good. They have a simple one page menu. We had the giant pretzel for starters. It as piping hot and came with cheddar, queso blanco and mustard dipping sauces. It was a bit too buttery for my liking but it still was pretty darn good. The queso has some good heat to it. Onto dinner. We both got burgers. The hubby got the Philly and I swear he didn't breathe eating it. They don't ask how you want them done, but they were still nice and juicy. I got the Firehouse and let me tell you have a beverage handy because it is spicy !! And delicious !! For sides we got the pub fries which were really good and coleslaw which my picky hubby liked. Also my son got the corn dogs which seemed a bit over cooked but he ate them anyway. Just said he would get something else next time. 4.00 kids meals !! So for an appetizer two burgers 4 beers a lemonade and a kids meal it was 50.00 ish. Not a bad price and it was good to boot. We shall come back to try more items !! We are frequently on I88 between Galesburg , Illinois and Des Plaines, Illinois. About midway we stopped in the neat little town of Ottawa Illinois. The Court Street Pub seemed to have a nice outdoor seating area. We ordered a Guinness, glass of wine and a cheese quesadilla. Drinks were fine as was the service. The quesadilla had no cheese and very little chicken. Running behind we paid the bill and left. Home; sent them an email advising of the deficiency in the kitchen. Looking for nothing in return just wanted them to be aware. Have heard nothing. We may well stop in Ottawa again but not at this particular eating establishment. read more
