We got a great deal on our car right in the midst of the nationwide automobile shortage, and the buying process was smooth, and the sales staff were honest, upfront, and professional without being pushy. But it's what has happened since then that has proven to us that this is a place where courtesy really is the principle that underlies the way they do business. On two separate occasions, we visited out of the blue with relatively minor but somewhat urgent--and potentially very costly--unscheduled maintenance issues, one of which was right at the end of the business day. This is a follow-up to the initial review of over 2 years ago. First, a quick correction. There were cracks in the casing of the driver side door handle. I missed them initially as I was looking for damage to the burrow wood trim. To be clear. This was damage caused by Courtesy when removing the door panel to replace the window motor, and costed me $150 to have another shop repair. As to the gear panel, I wrote to Gary the owner 2 years ago. His service team put in a standard panel that didn't match which was supposed to be temporary while they located a match. I picked up the car after hours. Incredibly the temporary panel was filthy with some gross looking white substance on it which I reported to the owner who subsequently had it cleaned up. My last conversation was with the Service Manager who held onto the original panel while they searched for a match. Two years since, I haven't heard one word from Coutesy except a mailing requesting to buy the car. I'm STILL waiting on my replacement and the original back. This place disgusts me. DO NOT BUY A CAR HERE. Slimy. Not friendly and is filled with over-confident salesmen who just want to push a sale out the door. They say they have A+ service, but if I were grading them, I'd give them an F-. We were out looking for a car and found one we were interested in. We were upfront with the salesmen and even scheduled an appointment to have the car looked at by a third-party mechanic. We said "if everything checks out and the mechanic says the car is okay we are definitely going to buy it". The salesmen agreed with this plan. Within just 4 days, they sold the car to someone else and never told us. Such great service, right? When courtesy is in your name you should have at least called us to let us know. This was not only an inconvenience for us, but also for the mechanic that we scheduled an appointment with. We do not plan on coming back to deal with your dirty dishonest game. I recently purchased a used vehicle from this dealership. Their prices where reasonable. The sales people where responsive and professional. It was a no pressure sale. They allowed the vehicle to sale itself. They provided documentation on services they provided on vehicle before resale. When finalizing the deal. The finance person was start forward. I actually received a contract with what should be on a contract minus all of the unnecessary stuff some of the other dealerships in the area try to add to a vehicle to made more money. This place thrives on people not knowing anything about vehicles. Textbook definition of why mechanics get bad names. They tell customers things are wrong or not running correctly with their vehicles and end up doing repairs without asking for consent or having paperwork signed. I called on my partners behalf (because I am mechanic) and was immediately talked to rudely by a manager (Jeff) who attempted to lie & tell me my partner asked for these repairs with him not knowing she was sitting beside me the entire conversation. Take your business to a dealer or a local trusted mechanic. This place is a rip and charged over 850$ on a simple oil change & brake light repair because they decided to toss in a new battery & 4 engine coils to take advantage of a young lady who knew no better. read more

I went in for new tires before a trip I had coming up. Asked for the cheapest ones. They said no problem. They changed them and I was on my way. All seemed okay. Then I started getting harassing calls because they apparently put more expensive tires on (admittedly their mistake) and now want me to pay more money. I recently went here to purchase a replacement for my previous car. Everyone here was very welcoming and ready to show off the cars available and that fit my needs. Casey was the salesman who was working with me and he was super straightforward and had all the knowledge on every car he shower me. I was shown a car that was perfect for me and ended up leaving with a super good deal after some negotiation on the price. I bought a low mileage utility van here. The previous owner had painted the rear windows black for privacy/safety reasons and I asked the salesman if he thought the paint would come off, neither of us were sure it would. I also needed to store the van for three weeks after purchase before taking it home. Courtesy stored my van at no charge and when I picked it up the windows were as clean as new, no trace of paint! I drove the van regularly for two days before receiving a warning from the engine/drive train system. The service manager viewed the warning and told me the van was unsafe to drive. He then located the only local manufacturer's certified technician and delivered the van to that person. Courtesy worked diligently with the manufacturer and with the tech to completely resolve the trouble. They faced supply chain issues and uncertainty beyond any normal situation. They worked proactively and without my knowledge to locate a suitable replacement for the van should that nightmare scenario come true. Good news, the van was restored to perfect condition. Courtesy received it back from the manufacturer's technician and the service manager himself tested the van for several days before returning it to me. I'm an old guy who likes work with his hands. I'm skilled in electronics and in machines and I've been in the service industry for 40 years so I understand the value of good service. I can tell you, without reservation, that there aren't enough stars in this rating to accurately reflect the level of integrity shown by Courtesy and their staff. My van was repaired at no charge to me and given a new 90-day warranty, also at no charge. It's been more than 90 days since then and the van works great! But I knew it would. I've come to expect nothing but the finest service here and I know they won't disappoint. read more

Bought my first new car after 10 years of owning vehicles, and having serviced them at home. Going to a body shop / garage intimidated me, and I was convinced that I was going to be scammed. - Not the case at all. I've gone to Courtesy twice now for body work, once minor and once significant damage. The experience was painless, I dropped my car off, was given a loaner car, and after making the initial call to insurance, I never spoke with the agent again. The claims adjuster went directly to Courtesy and dealt directly with the body shop manager. When the damage turned out to be more than the initial claim, Courtesy collected directly from the insurance agent. I was able to keep the loaner car for the entire length of the repair, without the hassle of a third party and insurance adjustment. They are also more than willing to work with customers who are paying out of pocket, and will suggest/offer different levels of repair to suit the customer. I will continue to go to Courtesy and recommend them to all my friends! read more

This place is garbage. They charged me money for a throttle position sensor and then installed it incorrectly and we came back and they told us it was the wiring and would cost us another 250? Took it to a local friend he said they're idiot if they don't know how to install something about the size of your fist that only requires to screws and an iq Avoid at all cost Also I came here for brakes and they said 450 for one set of brake pads and rotors then I said no way, thy call me back in 5 min and say 350?! For a long time I could only say good things about this place but today was completely taken advantage of. Dropped my car off to get a coolant leak looked at to see what the problem might be. It took several hours for them to look at the car which I understand, they must be busy with everything going on. However after finally looking at the car they did not call me to speak about the problem, what they found, or how I would like to move forward. Instead they ordered the part and proceeded to fix it before giving me an estimate. I had to call several times to check up and they said they would call when it was done but that was not the case either. I called once again 20 minutes before closing and they say "oh yes your car is ready" and I would not be able to make it to the shop in time. Getting ready to buy my middle daughter a new (used car) and it a stressful thing to do. But in the processing of researching her car, I was reminded of the very good experience we had with Courtesy in Sep. of 2020, when buying a car for my oldest daughter. I just happened to check Courtesy on Yelp as I was checking out the reviews for another dealer and was surprised they were not 5 stars. It then reminded me that often times only people that have an issue leave a review. Hundreds of happy customers probably never do, like myself usually. So I decided to drop a review, albeit a little late. My wife and I are both rather conservative. We use the Internet to our advantage and research to the hilt when getting ready to purchase anything of high value. We live in Columbus, but that day we had to take my daughter down close to Cincinnati for an ACT test. I had a Honda Fit on my list at Courtesy, but had like 10 other ones on my list as well, mostly in Columbus and a few other cities in Ohio. This was going to be my first stop and I had no plans of buying. However, the salesman was really nice. We test drove the car and then set down and chit-chatted with the owner of the place. We were haggling over the price of the car, which I hate doing, but my wife is from Hong Kong and this is built-in to her being. She asked for an unbelievable price, tax included, everything out-the-door, which is how we like to operate. We pay cash and only buy what we can afford. But the price she was asking for was way below anything I had researched and I was frankly getting embarrassed. But the next thing I know, the owner was like, "Deal." I was stunned and of course, quite a happy camper. He said the car was a trade-in and they could let it go at that, or something along those lines. There was no hidden fees and no immense pressure to purchase service or any of that extra junk. We wrote a personal check and was out the door with the keys in no time. That little car has been steady for my daughter, commuting back and forth to OSU. Not saying they can cut everyone that kind of deal, but at least you know they are able. read more

I recently got in a fender bender which piled onto the stress of starting a new job and getting married in a few weeks. I had the check engine light come and since they are close to my home and could take it, I decided to try them. They said they could read the engine code and get back to me quickly. After several hours, I decided to call them and was told I had a fuel injector error. Their solution was a $350 injector flush but they wanted to check a few things. Fine so far. After having my car another nearly full day with again no news I had to call again. Now I'm told I need spark plugs and the injector flush. Now I'm suspicious. Spark plugs cost several hundred dollars to replace on my Jeep Wrangler and are scheduled for replacement every. 100,000 miles. My Jeep has about 42,000 miles on it. They start giving me a line about Jeep changing the service schedule to 30,000 miles and telling who they talked to at a local dealership. I decided to take my car and investigate further. I contacted Jeep and found out that the proper maintenance interval was still 100,000 miles. I added a bottle of injecter cleaner to the gas ($10) and in less than 1 mile the check engine fault cleared itself. So much for new plugs and a $350 injecter cleaning. The next morning though I walk out and there is an oily fluid under my car for the first time ever. It is currently at a dealership while they figure out what happened and fix it. Net, they tried to sell me an expensive, unnecessary injecter cleaning, lied to me to sell me an expensive and unnecessary spark plug service and left my car in an undriveable condition due to the amount of fluid leaking out! Fixing the problem will cost $140 to diagnose at the dealership plus whatever the actual repair will cost and I am without the car for week. No, I will not be going there again. read more

Update from my prior review (over one year later). The little Kia I bought has been reliable, 100% of the time. It's been on many road trips, and has been serviced both at Courtesy and at other service centers. I'll continue bringing the Kia back to Courtesy (as I can) for service because it's a quick turnaround and I absolutely trust the guys in the service center. K.C., who sold us the Forte, has even followed up with me more than once since the sale to ensure we were still satisfied. I have been getting my vehicle serviced at Courtesy for a little over a year now and couldn't be happier! I had some major issues occur all within a 6 month time frame in which I jumped service centers because I couldn't find one I was pleased with. After going to Courtesy for the first time, I provided all of my invoices for the work I had done previously and they informed me that most of the repairs/replacements done, I should not have been charged for because they were all under warranty. So, not only did they help get my SUV back to working properly, but they also were able to point me in the right direction to getting my money back for repairs/replacements I shouldn't have been charged for to begin with! They have been so helpful and pleasant to work with. They have quick turn around time, which is so nice since I only have one vehicle and typically need to wait on it to get finished. The guys that worked there were all really nice and friendly and dare I say....HONEST. I recently went to Courtesy Automotive and worked with one of their sales members on purchasing a van. He and I looked at the van and following our discussion I let me know I would call him on Monday to discuss final pricing. We agreed on a price a few days later and I informed him that I would come to pick up the van on Monday on Tuesday. As men we agreed on a price and guaranteed him that we had a deal. This was the one of quickest and easiest car buying experience I have ever had and I have purchased 8 cars. I started in service with Tom for a repair. He and I spoke about potentially buying a newer car. In addition, that day he knew I didn't have a lot of time because i had appointments. Tom gave me a loaner car for the day and introduced me to GM, Gary. Gary and I had a 15 minute conversation , he understood the car I wanted and the amount I was willing to pay. Before I signed on the line, I needed to take the car over night to see if I even liked the car. The whole family liked the car.
