Where do I begin. Perhaps I should grab a tissue, and tend to my tears. Had an unfortunate accident back in November. Having just moved back to Cincinnati, I had no point of reference of where to even begin to find a body shop. Luckily, I was referred by a lady named Jane. My family works in the textile business and has done upholstering and textile work with Jane for years. Now, I guess my biggest mistake was assuming Jane's husband, John, handled his business similarly to his spouse. Boy was I wrong. Took my car in to his shop the second week of December. December 9th, I do believe. Was quoted to have it done around Christmas. Called them the week before Christmas and they apologized and said it would be done by the New Year. Unfortunate, but not unheard of. Kept my patience. Now if I must remind you-- It's nearing the last week of FEBRUARY as I write this post.. Every week since the "it'll be done by the new year" quote, we have called to inquire on the status of this vehicle. And every week before we pick up the phone we look at each other and cringe saying "hopefully not 'one more week;" This is absolutely ridiculous behavior from any business. To be able to tell me how much my repairs and damage will cost and tentatively tell me when it will be ready is simple business 101. Being in business myself, I understand that things happen from staffing to shipments to just all around bumps in the road. But with every week that we call, whoever is speaking to us on the other line, is more and more defensive and full of excuses. He even had the audacity to try and "level" with my mother when she called and said "sorry we're just having problems with staffing and people showing up" I'm just failing to realize where that is the customers problem or even our business to know about your employees. Anyway. Our original finish date was the week of Christmas. It's now been 8 weeks since Christmas. and 7/8 we were told "It will be done next week" My only questions at this point are.. Do you know how many days are in a "week". And where is John Hall, the business owner. Why is it that we've tried calling on different days, different times of day and different approaches to expressing our concern and frustrations with this company and never once has he been "available to speak at the moment".. I sure hope he's been too busy personally putting my vehicle back together. At this point, I've had to apply for my auto loan.. and it expired.. as loans expire after 30 days if they aren't used.. and reapplied for a personal loan just so I have the money whenever they decide to finally finish my car.. So in the mean time.. I'm paying double the amount of interest on a loan for a car I don't actually have yet.. and paying the expenses for a rental and it's maintenence for 2 MONTHS STRAIGHT while this terrible joke of a company holds my car hostage. I'm even tempted to finally call and just take the car half done. Cut my losses. I may just not understand how the auto repair business works.. but I know that when I'm spending $5,000 on anything, I deserve ANYTHING in return other than headaches and children whining their employees don't show up. .. Mind you, they've never called us.. we always have to call them. Worst $5k I've ever invested so far. :/ Don't get your auto body work done by John. and don't believe all these high recommendations. This was the first time I've ever brought a car into a new shop with such high hopes. The referrals and references were outstanding. Makes this blow extremely personal and upsetting. read more

If you get in an accident on the way to downtown Cincinnati, you may have the misfortune of receiving a tow from Eiler thanks to local law enforcement. Fortunately, this place is a 6-minute drive from there... and thus, it follows, a short tow from their storage lot. Having not been in the area long, I took a gamble based on others' proclamations that the folks at John Hall Body Shop could provide some stability in the midst of a tricky financial/logistic situation. I'm very satisfied with that decision. Mike was determined to return my car to me in a handful of business days, despite the relative scarcity of reasonably-priced parts available, and that he did-while charging less than the initial quote. In my experience, this shop's positive press (as well as that of the previously-mentioned towing company) is an accurate reflection of their service. Also, there are several bus stops nearby, if you share that aspect of my experience, too. read more

I was referred to John Hall Body Shop by my regular mechanic. Mr. Hall was thorough in telling me what was going on. He always took my call when I called to check on progress of the repair. He was up front about what to expect. I really appreciated the thoroughness of him and his staff. Their work was excellent. As my car is 5 years old he even took the time to buff out a few of the scratches that I had. The whole car looks better than when I took it to him. I would definitely use him again. read more

I had a great experience here! The manager was extremely helpful and polite. I needed the front bumper, headlight, and a couple other minor things replaced/fixed, and they had my car back to me by the end of the week. They accommodated my busy work schedule, did a great job with the repairs, and returned my car to me completely spotless- inside and out. I would absolutely recommend this body shop! read more

I went here after another body shop messed up some repairs I'd hired them to do. Mike at John Hall was very friendly, even offering to give me a ride home on a rainy day. Unlike the first body shop (ahem, ABRA!), which took forever to complete their shoddy work, John Hall was quick and professional. I hated everything about this place. First off when you get rear ended and you have to get multiple quotes from multiple people you become familiar with what is wrong with your car. This was the FOURTH place I went and when I asked about the potential about hidden damage this joke of a auto person told me there was no hidden damage. I don't know anything about cars, but the THREE people before him saying that there is always a potential for hidden damage resonates and not only that how do you KNOW there isn't any damage, you can't see it... he then said that he would like to explain it to me in detail. I'm not an idiot and I know that you can't provide a defined answer with something you can't see. Especially with cars. I bought my first house in Northside and am an advocate of supporting a local business but this was a ridiculous experience and I will never go back. That is without question. read more

I can't say enough good things about the John Hall Body Shop. They repaired a damaged bumper cover on my new car today. The estimate I had gotten from the insurance adjuster was $1000.00 (for a whole new bumper cover) of which 500 would come out of my own pocket. The repairmen at John Hall were surprised that the estimate was so high and offered to pull out the dent and repaint it for less than $500. I agreed to this and cancelled the insurance claim against my car, thus saving me from getting my rates raised (again). Today I picked up my car. It looks like new again and he total bill was only $350.00. Again, I can't recommend John Hall Body Shop enough. read more

I have used John Hall for several years. These guys are great. My Sienna van got hit by a plumbing truck, minor damage to the passenger side. The insurance company agreed to pay for everything except the hood. They said it was damaged in and earlier incident, which was true. When I went to pick up the van, they had replaced the hood anyway. The owner said he wanted me to be happy with the repairs. They did more than was expected, honest. read more
