We purchased a Buick Enclave from this business a year ago and had a definite five star experience at that time. As pàrt of the purchase we also bought a service contract for our new car. Now it's time to review our great experience with the service department. First of all we never knew we would be dealing with a pandemic, namely Covid19. Since this vehicle was going to be my husband's primary vehicle which he would be commuting to and from work in we thought it would have far more miles accumulate on it than has actually happened. Telecommuting since March 13th has resulted in very few miles being put on the car. We have also cancelled several car trips due to Covid-19 so that saved on mileage on the car. The service agreement provided for full service every 5,000 miles. Due to the Pandemic we have not put 5,000 miles on in the first full year. Now for the five star Service experience. It turns out that the Service agreement covers service every six months or 5,000 miles. On the cars one year anniversary Courtesy contacted us and set up a service appointment. We dropped the car off at the service time and left in our secondary car to take care of other errands in Louisville. An hour after the appointment time we received a call to let us know the car's service was completed. We left it there a couple more hours so we could complete our errands. Please do not buy or get your car serviced here. Two weeks ago my 2021 Buick Encore GX car started giving me error messages below. Shift to park Trunk open Windshield wiper fluid not coming out Check engine light came on. My husband took it to Autozone on Hurstbourne at Stonybrook and got a diagnosis of ECM error codes under powertrain below. U18D5 U18DC U18D7. He checked those fuses and said they were good. I then call and took my car to Courtesy Buick this past Monday. Dropped off with Trevor Crichfield and he said it would be $199 for diagnostic test. He went home that very morning as it was evident he was sick. He did text me to let me know someone else would reach out to me. No word on Monday then I texted their number at 11:30 Tuesday. Travis Goedeker who is Service Manager calls and tells me I had to have battery replaced, shifter replaced, trunk latch replaced and windshield washer pump replaced at a cost of $2800.00. I declined and asked him to get me size of shifter on whether it was a 4 pin or 6 pin and said he would find out and call me back, then said my total would be $240. No I was quoted $199, where do you get $240. He said $40 shop fees. I refused to pay the $40 stating that should have been told at the beginning. He then stated "I went out of my way to get you size on shifter". Oh so you don't do that anyways for a customer??? How dare you say that to a customer I said. Picked up my car, did not get copies of 5/6 pages of details but only two pages. Have left a voicemail to Travis Godeker to provide those and have gone to corporate to file a complaint on this so called Certified Service Manager that couldn't diagnose my car correctly after speaking to Frank Mooney when I left and went straight to OReilly's only to have them tell me the same thing that Autozone said. You don't need a new battery or any of those other items replaced. These are error codes where your car is not communicating from under your hood to bumper and this is what's causing the issue. Called the GM who called me back with his so called certified service manager and they both tried to over talk me and talk to me like I was stupid. He then said he would refund my money for me to go elsewhere. Supposed to be mailing me a check. Guess what Mr. Mooney? Your so called service manager isn't so certified in his field or him or your tech lied and tried to get $2800.00 for what the real cause was and is now fixed. The BCM FUSE was not in the fuse box. Did you really diagnose my car or just give me some bullshit story thinking I would fall for it and try to charge me $2800.00 for a fuse. You are both pathetic and are not the caliber of what the SWOPE family who never treated people like you two have. We have bought over 7 cars from when SWOPE was there and two after they left. I will NEVER buy or service a car on your lot again. Please friends and family do your homework and don't let this place try to walk on you like they tried do with me!!! read more

Buyer beware. We spent $100,000 buying a GMC Denali 3500 from them and they don't want to service / inspect it. I got a crack in the windshield and Safelite did a bad repair on the windshield which leaked inside and damaged the head liner and they refuse to inspect it because they said they would have to take out the glass and they don't take glass out or want to bring someone in to take out the glass for them. It was a substantial amount of water intrusion and I wanted the electrical inspected as well and they don't even want to inspect the electric because they don't want to spend the time to do it. It amazes me how terrible customer is nowadays, but even more so from a company you buy an expensive vehicle from like this. read more

My truck has been there 3-4 times now with issues covered under warranty and have been told everytime that "they don't have a loaner." Every other dealer I have dealt with in the past had no issues with giving me a loaner. The receptionist in the shop department is always extremely rude and the employees always seem to be super rushed and confused. I do not recommended getting any work done here ever. read more

Trevor who works here returned my car to me with my rear view mirror broken off and proceeded to tell me that he couldn't fix it, I needed a kit and that they would reach out to me. like are you serious, the rear view mirror was completely fine when I dropped it off and now they are claiming the heat effected my vehicle (the same vehicle that I leave outside everyday) now i'm struggling to find out how this is now my responsibility to fix, considering it was left at their dealership. A couple weeks ago I took my car in for service. There was a warning light that required me to have service completed. The courtesy service rep did not call back to let me know what was going on. I dropped my car off the night before and had a 7:30 AM service appointment. I assumed by 11 AM I would have received a call with the diagnosis. I called Buick service and was told they had not looked at my car yet. Called back later in the afternoon and was told someone would call me back. At 5:30 I called to find out the status of my car and was told my service advisor had left for the day. The next day I I spoke to the service advisor and was told they were not able to find what was causing the error. They could see I was getting an error but the diagnosis code was vague. The did a flash update to a chip and said that would fix any issue. Last week I started getting the same error. On Monday I called to schedule an appointment to bring in my car. I got a message saying all service advisors were busy and to leave a message and someone would call me back priority. The next day I call back to try to schedule an appointment. I was told that if I needed a loaner for my in warranty car while it was in service they could arrange it through enterprise rental. So my second service call for the same problem in less than two weeks and I have to pay to rent a car while they try to figure out the original problem. On Monday I received a recall letter. According to the letter it was a Mandatory Safety Recall for the brakes. The letter went in to say Buick will notify me when the have a fix for the issue. In the mean time drive safe. This is my 3rd Buick, my 1st since Courtesy took over. Because of this issue and previous ones this is my last Buick. read more

11/12/19 Made appt online ....so easy. But when I arrived early, was told .....u r early ..ok I accept that. Was told it would b 2.5 hours until done ....ok, I will wait. NO COMMUNICATION!!! I waited 2.5 hours and no one bothered to give me an update. I went searching for service adv ....was told the svc coordinator had been out to lunch when I had arrived ....go talk to him. I stood patiently waiting for acknowledgement that I was waiting as he visited himself with a car checkin. Once I stepped in front of his path, he looked up and said he did not check me in but would try to locate my car. I've been getting my car serviced here since it was Sam Swope with no issues. But my last visit may be my last visit. After pulling out from my oil change, I had a sensor light come on that I never had an issue with. Upon taking it back the next day, I was told that they noticed it yesterday, yet failed to inform me. Although the service light didn't come on until minutes after I pulled off from the dealership.. 1st off, why wasn't I informed the moment it was noticed while it was in the shop getting the oil change? I got some long drawn out excuse of why I wasn't informed then. Then said it was "noted" on the paper.. Yet I wasn't informed... I still had to find out the hard way half way home when the damn light came on!!.. Then the next day after that, I noticed the cap on my washer fluid reservoir was broke off and missing. I was NOT informed about that neither. That also should have been brought to my attention... But NO!! And I'm sure they will say "yeah, it was already like that".. BS.. I think allowing me to pull away without informing me that my tire sensor was bad and the light not coming on until minutes after I pulled away was shady, horrible customer service and very bad business. And not informing me that the cap on my washer fluid is broke and missing. Oh.. and they offered little to no solution! I may not trust them enough to go back. Never had issues when it was Sam Swope. Even the sales rep had little to offer or say. The mechanic did all the talking! Yet said Nothing!!! Sooooo.. I raised my review from 1 star to 3 stars for now! My review was met with professionalism via a conversation with Mr. Todd who valued my review as well as my business. He is currently working on getting this issue resolved. We came here to see a specific truck my husband was interested in. The employee on the phone said they'd get it and have it ready. When we arrived it wasn't pulled around, but it was close by. They pulled it around so we could go for a test drive in it. The truck was super clean and detailed. Props to them for keeping their vehicles pristine for potential buyers. If I could give them a ZERO I would. I called them about service issues and the dealership was not clear on charges on service fees. I needed to understand the fees before I got there. They were confusing and not helpful. When I told the service manager (James Bard), I would just complain to GMC since he refused to help me with my concerns. It just seems they wanted to trap me in fees. He seems upset and took a picture of my vin. I asked why he did so and ignored me, so I told him I was calling the police. He then asked why I would call the police. I said because you have no reason to take a picture of my vin. He only took a picture of my vin for rotatory reasons because I was going to file a complaint with GMC. He was and got his GM (Frank Moddy) and the GM was no better. Told me that the police would not come because they had a truck stolen and they never came for them. The dealership has been on a decline since it was sold by the Swopes. The customer service there is BAD and is VER POOR. I have heard this from many people. This dealership is one to STAY AWAY FROM! I did report this to the police in case anything was done to my vin. And GMC was alerted as well, and I have a report number with them. You just can not treat people any way you want and then get upset and retaliate against them if they say they are going to file a complaint on you. read more

I took my 2500HD pickup in to have the driver's side headlight replaced. After the headlamp was installed, the truck would not start. It was determined that the ECM for the truck had been compromised during the changing of the headlight. Since this was on a Saturday, they could not repair my truck until Monday and they could not provide me with comparable rental truck until Monday either. The truck was repaired on Monday. However I am concerned about returning this truck for any future service. I am only giving one star because it will not allow no stars. read more

My elderly mom's Regal was having intermittent acceleration problems. Because I don't live in Louisville I was concerned about going to an unknown mechanic, so I decided to go to a GM dealer. I am so pleased with the service I received from Courtesy. The online appointment scheduler was super easy. I asked they call me before I came in, and they did! And of course the day I brought the car in, it stopped having problems. The Courtesy mechanic was never able to replicate it either, but he discovered what was causing the problem and had it repaired in a few hours. This is a nice place and the staff is courteous but my last experience was not very satisfactory, My car warranty was about to expire and I request my vehicle to be inspected due to a burning smell coming out and a check engine light showing. It seems like you need to be a mechanic so they can replace/fix everything, I expressed my concerns to the agents, however, the full repair was not completed. I had to speak to the director in order to get my car re-evaluated to what I was informed that I would owe out of pocket money for something that could have been fixed while covered by the warranty. It is negligence to not look deeper into a root cause and a waste of time that I had brought back my car twice for the same issue with different repairs, and on top of it, to pay cash for something that would have been covered. Again, make sure that you know all the details prior to schedule an appointment, otherwise, they will make you come back. I was really pleased with this service repair facility until this last visit. Purchased a loaner Buick Encore with 2.000 miles this past summer. It seemed to have a very slow tire leak but I did not report it until I took the car in for it's first oil change. They told me they couldn't find anything. The tire continued with a very slow leak. I called to ask if I could bring the car in that evening but had to leave a voice message then never received a call back. I called a few days later to report no call back and scheduled for the following Saturday. After checking the car they told me they repaired a nail hole but then discovered "metal cut to the shoulder" which would require the tire be replaced. They were unwilling to negotiate to consider that the tire had been leaking since I purchased it adding the new tire warranty would be only for 1 year. I told them I would rather purchase the tire at Big O for the better warranty. When I went to Big O they submerged the tire twice insisting that there was no evidence of damage to the shoulder. It appears that Courtesy's service department was trying to sell me an unneeded new tire. To summarize, they did not address the slow leak the first visit, they did not return my call trying to bring the car back and most importantly they said I needed a new tire at $215 but Big O said no evidence of a problem. read more

Our problem with 2006 Pontiac Vibe's Air Bags are still not resolved. We have spent 900+ dollars to fix the air bags. They have agreed to split the additional cost of 300+ dollars with us. My 2011 Buick LaCrosse is still under warranty and I wanted to address some issues with wheel sounds and map updates and such. No big problems. The first service personnel I spoke with listened and when he realized I had several concerns he sent me to one of the managers which I thought was GREAT, I didn't have to repeat everything.....that was very good customer service and he apologized but I told him I totally appreciated that. I told them I was prepared to wait a couple of hours but would like to know if it would take longer and they kept me updated....I was very glad I waited. They were very prompt with dealing with my issues even though when I pulled up, the building was full and I had to leave my car outside. I appreciate them having WiFi too! read more

I recently purchased a used GMC Acadia from Courtesy and was surprised a few days after my purchase when the new car spray that they used to mask the smell of smoke wore off. I now own a car that smells like an ashtray so beware of any used car purchased from them if you are adverse to this smell as I am. While I was in the market for a new car I would literally hear from at least three people from the dealership daily. Since I let them know about my complaint, the follow up was minimal at best. This place is a disaster since Swope sold to them. I have had 3 oil changes there since Swope sold, 2 of them free because of the poor service. I called to get tires and got a quote for $1126, taxes included, for 4 tires. Since they price match, and I found the tires for $25 cheaper elsewhere, they changed the quote to $1071 before 6% tax, that would be $1135 after tax.... I'm done with them!!! I purchased a new GMC Acadia with 2 trade in plus had negative equity in one of them. Was advised best way to cover neg equity was with new car since it had 9000.00 in discounts and rebates . They did this by charging more than car booked for in sales price and then took the discount off. Also sold me extended warranty and as she was typing up paperwork advised us she would go ahead and throw in ding and tire coverage . Little did we know that it cost additional 700.00 .also she added gap coverage for another 795.00. After reading what initial warranty covered the ding and gap was already included so we were charged twice . After taking car home it was determined had safety issue . When I returned was told I could not return car or even trade for at least a year . Gen manager said only way he would try to make it right was I had to purchase a new car and it had to be a specific one and they would only give me 25000.00 for car just purchased deprecated it by several thousand . This so called deal would cost me ever 50000.00. Knowing we could not afford or qualify for this. I guess it's their way of saying they made me offer but I rejected it. So I am now stuck with car and 18000.00 in neg equity and minus my 2 trade ins . We were totally taken and we are repeat customers. Do not trust them at all . Have no concern of customer needs and satisfaction. Have since gone and cancelled the extended warranty and additional ding and tire add ons.'when we signed the cancellation we discovered that we had been charged for the top of the line extended warranty and not basic one . I just wonder how many people they do this too hoping customer doesn't review it and catch it. I would think this is some sort of fraud or theft by deception. I am not done with them yet. Took my 2005 LaCross in for some recalls, since then I have started having issues related to the recalls. I chatted with one of their reps and was assured that the service manage would call me to fix things; that was about 6 weeks ago and I still have not heard one word from them - when I took the car by they readily told me that it would cost about $100 for them to check the car - this is after I told them that no one had touched it since they had, no apology, no compromise, DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THEM read more

This used to be a Sam Swope dealership and I have always been a loyal customer. I made my appointment for regular maintenance at 60,000 miles. No one told me when I made the appointment or when I arrived that the dealership had been bought out. They didn't have an estimate on the appointment. I waited in the lobby like normal. When I went to check out, I was informed that my Sam Swope VIP and other discounts would not be honored. They informed me ONLY THEN to tell me that they had been bought out. They charged $702 - mostly in labor charges (?!?!). They then recommended an additional $2700 in repairs (that I found out later was not necessary). I feel that they took advantage of me and were dishonest by omission - I will never return. Beware! Practices have changed at this dealership (since they were bought in December I found out later). read more

There were a couple problems with the vehicle when I first test drove it, but I was interested in this particular vehicle because of the low mileage. When I expressed a serious interest in making the purchase, the sales person attended to each and every detail needed to recondition the vehicle to my satisfaction.
