Then...it all came crashing down. I went in for a routine oil change over a year ago, and when I picked it up, they charged me and I paid and I figured that was that. The mechanic, (whom I'd not seen there before,) brought it out and asked me "Did they talk to you about the timing belt?" "No." I said. He then proceeded to tell me how the timing belt had "slipped a tooth already", and that it "can lead to engine damage." I said I'd look into it but he said it would be okay to drive. When I got in my car and started driving (it's a 5-speed 2012 Ford Fiesta,) I IMMEDIATELY heard grinding and there was little to no acceleration. Remember: it was FINE when I took it in, and I had just driven a long distance trip with no problems. I brought it in for a routine oil change. I stopped off and called them back and took it back in. The woman at the front desk remembered that she hadn't remembered to tell me about a potential issue. I dropped it off again and they continued to look at it. They called back a few DAYS later and told me that it had slipped and they don't fix that. I was livid. They said they weren't covering anything financially and that it was something they couldn't help with. These are people I had gotten used to seeing and had been on friendly terms with for at least a couple years. I went to get it towed back to my home. When I got there and spoke with the tow truck guy, he said he had been towing a lot from Probilt lately and they had apparently been under new ownership. That made perfect sense. The people on the phones seemed completely different than they had been and the new mechanic seemed more than subpar. It felt as if they were just churning through cars and didn't care about anything but the payments anymore. I will NEVER go back there, and I warn anyone else against this place. Hopefully, it shuts down soon, if it hasn't already. I notice most of the good reviews are from years and years ago.

Spark plugs? $44 each. You'd think they were hand-sculpted from meteorite and blessed by a monk. And the alignment was nearly $300, which is double what any reputable shop charges unless the tech is using golden lasers and whispering affirmations into the steering rack. When I asked if I could provide my own HKS plugs (pre-gapped and ready), I got a hesitant maybe -- because God forbid a customer bring their own parts. Wouldn't want to interrupt the sacred ceremony of upselling with something practical. To be fair: they did complete the oil change. Monday morning shortly after 7:00 a.m. I called Wildt and asked if they would repair my tire. In a very courteous manner the gentleman who answered my call stated that if I brought in in then it would be repaired and ready for me to return between 10:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Upon arrival, the tire was taken -- my information given and that was it. At 10:45 I returned to the station. I was shown what was removed from the tire and presented with the cost of the service. The repaired tire was installed on my vehicle, the spare and all components carefully placed in required positions. The gentlemen treated me with dignity and respect along with what I considered to be a fair charge for such a valuable service. All of this also took place in over 90 degree heat. So based on this one service I will not hesitate to return when my vehicle needs future service.

When I picked up the vehicle, my total came to $1,806.92 -- about $500 more than the original quote. I was never contacted to approve any additional repairs or charges. After reviewing the invoice, I noticed I was charged for a part that was never installed. It took five days of contacting the owner to get $135 refunded for that item. I also noticed I was billed $300 for a part that costs around $145 at Advance Auto Parts. When I asked for clarification about the additional $500 beyond the original quote, I was told to speak with the shop manager. The manager is the one who authorized the charges in question, and I never received a clear explanation. The repair involved a timing chain and camshaft gear -- a common issue on this vehicle. While the car is now running properly, the lack of communication, additional unapproved charges, and billing for a part that wasn't installed made this a frustrating experience. I don't mind paying for quality work. I do mind being charged more than agreed without authorization and having to chase down a refund for something that shouldn't have happened in the first place.
