Courthaus Social has been one of my Arlington favorites for years now. I have been here countless times and it never disappoints. The outdoor atmosphere vibe on a nice day is unbeatable. They are super dog friendly (even have a dog menu). Some of my favorites are the Reuben egg rolls (a must), Brussel Sprouts, Spinach Artichoke dip, Grilled Chicken Sandwich, Bangin' Shrimp Salad, and French dip. I have to assume this likely a German styled pub due to the name and some of the German based menu items. The ambiance reminds me of such. The staff was pretty fast and attentive. The French Dip Sandwich reminds so much of the Italian Combination Beef sandwich that is incredibly popular in the Chicago, IL area (or as some Chicago people say, "Combination Sandwich"). Even the Au Ju tastes similar to the gravy. The side Caesar salad kinda threw me off with the sun-dried tomatoes mixed in. Other than that, I would recommend this for those looking to get lunch. Came here on a Saturday afternoon around 1 and it was fairly empty. Walked in and were quickly seated as we had reservations for 12 people. The menu's are QR codes when made for easier access. There are plenty of TV's inside as well as outdoor seating. I ended up ordering the bone-in wings. 8 wings for $14. Seems pretty pricy to me but who knows. Wings came fast. They are so good that we usually end up ordering more than one round during happy hour. Crispy, flavorful, and absolutely addictive. I have not tried much else on the menu because once we found the tenders, there was no going back. That said, there are a few other solid happy hour options, and it is definitely a great spot to meet up with friends or watch a game. There is plenty of seating and lots of TVs to catch whatever you are into. The staff is also fantastic. Every time we visit, whether it is day or night, the service is quick, kind, and efficient. The food was tasteless. It gave me Germany vibes as I assume that's what this place is going for. The beer selection could've been a bit more expansive. I came here with friends for happy hour after a midday movie around the corner. I ordered a steak and cheese sandwich that looked really good. The steak was just completely unseasoned. I feel like the didn't even drop a sprinkle of salt on it. The peppers seemed like they had all of the flavor cooked out of them that could have made up for the lackluster meat. I then tasted my friends chicken nachos to ensure that I didn't have COVID and was losing my taste. There seemed to be a bit of salt and pepper on the chicken and maybe splash of paprika or hint of seasoning salt. Nevertheless, I didn't need anymore of it in my life. We were there from 5:30ish to 9pm and we kept having to chase down a waiter for more drinks and such. We had a blast here last night at trivia! It was five rounds of 11 questions and I loved how they covered many different topics. I also appreciated using a phone app to play, which definitely helped with hearing questions when the restaurant was packed and quite lively. For food, I got the blackened mahi-mahi and brussels sprouts. The mahi-mahi was scrumptious, tender and smoky from the grill. It was served over yummy cilantro rice and creamy/zesty lemon butter sauce. Needless to say, I wiped my plate clean! The brussels sprouts was also stellar - everything crispy in it from bacon to shallots to the actual brussel sprouts. It was served with bleu cheese, which rounded out the crispy heartiness with just the right amount of funk! We also sampled through a few of the delicious beers on tap from kolsches to sours. We did our 22 year college reunion, how are we even that old?--at Courthaus Social in Arlington. The staff was very accommodating and handled it when we had to move inside. Total professionals. Things I loved less: Banging shrimp - heavy on the cream (mayo?) and almost more sweet than spicy. A bit too sauce forward. The staff is super hit or miss. I've visited three times now and they're pretty attentive at the start and then go MIA when it's time for a second (or third) round. It's a bit of a letdown when you're in need of silverware, water, or simply more beer to enjoy with your pretzel and your host is nowhere to be seen... Something to work on!
