Right in the center of Arlington is this great little sports bar/ pub. Had all the soccer games playing and decent drink prices. Was in town for a work event and wanted to try something different. Service was prompt and had all of the European pup favorites. I had a creamy potato soup to start and chicken curry seasoned well with white rice. Would stop in again!

After our flight to DC, we were starving from being up super early for our flight. I wanted to find a place that was in close proximity to the airport and came across this spot on Google. I thought this would be perfect because my mom is always trying to find a new place for her beloved fish and chips! My brother and I shared the chicken Caesar wrap that definitely hit the spot. It was fresh and the chicken was tasty! My mom got her fish and chips, along with us sharing the chicken nachos. The nachos were delicious as well! Our service was pretty top notch too. I don't think it hurt that we were the first ones there since it was a very cold day out! College football was on too which was a plus!

Fast service, delicious chicken pot pie meal. A giant single layer biscuit crust on top was a cool twist. A bunch of televisions with sports was on. Not too packed even on a weekend. Enjoyable meal.

A fun pub right on 23rd corridor of Crystal City. A great Irish pub with daily specials and a good menu. Excellent friendly service. A nice bar with high tops & regular tables. They have live music on weekends. They did an excellent job with our group. Sean was a good server. The pork chops were delicious.

Our server, Sean was amazing. The chili cheese fries were tied with the best we've ever had. We had them with bacon. The beef stew was amazing and definitely the best Irish beef stew I've ever had. The chicken pot pie was huge and my husband absolutely loved it. My grandson had the burger and it was cooked perfectly and he said it was up there with the best burger he's ever had. Definitely recommend McNamara's pub. Football season is about to start so find your way down to the pub to watch some games. The only complaint is the ketchup. Especially if you're a Steelers bar, you definitely should have Heinz

This place was phenomenal! Very cleanly and good vibes throughout. Wait staff is super friendly and helpful. Food was super good and tasted fresh which is rare for a "pub" restaurant. Even the veggies were fresh in some capacity and came out al dente instead of complete mush. Short review but that's all I have to say, this place was delicious!

Im gonna tell you straight. The fish & chips were breaded and cooked really well. The large pieces of cod were great. Fries are fries, but they were good. The banger & mash were just what they are, but I love the basic staples like that. I am a meat and potatoes guy. People were having a great time in there. There was lots of laughing and it was a typical pub atmosphere on a weekend afternoon. Im sure it gets better during a football game. The staff were pretty good and friendly. I ended up getting me a t-shirt. Not buying a t-shirt to rep a place that sucks... js

    House Salad w/ Guinness

Mediocre experience at best. Stopped in for St. Patrick's Day weekend in order to take advantage of the festivities, namely the live music they had. The food was okay: the house salad was decent enough, but the chicken pot pie was subpar. Edible sure, but the sauce was bland and in dire need of more herbs and spices, and the chicken-to-potato ratio was way off. Definitely think Sysco is their supplier. The service, unfortunately, was really poor. The salad had to be remade twice due to the server, and then the kitchen, not following my instructions. The manager tried to explain this, but did so in a dismissive manner. If she really felt bad, she would have comped the salad from the bill for the inconvenience Finally, the menu was condensed for St. Patrick's weekend, which was quite inconvenient given that they didn't announce it on their socials/website and I have been on a low-carb/low-red meat diet, which severely limited my options. Not even the monthly specials were available. The server obviously felt bad and was rather friendly, and the traditional Irish music was quite lovely, hence the extra star. However, I didn't think I'll be back in the near future given these above issues; all of which are classic "growing-complacent-with-training-and-quality" type issues.

3.5. Really solid for home style food and drinks. This is stick to your ribs stuff and it's good! Would recommend the chicken pot pie. Loved the tator tots. They have a mean Shepards pie.

Small corner restaurant on a strip of different kinds of restaurants, you have a mixture of options. Came here to enjoy happy hour and have drinks with friends. They have food and drink specials throughout the week including weekends! $5 dollar jameson on a Sunday?! Who doesn't love that? Bar was fully packed so we got a table, but the service was pretty quick. Chandler was on top of getting our drinks and stayed attentive even when they had a quick dinner rush. They were kind of slow around 530pm then around 6pm had a full restaurant. Nothing on the food menu screamed "EAT ME," but i did find some items intriguing enough to want to come and try again. The Poutine tots did catch my eye and i was super excited to try it as i love cheese curd poutines! The tots?! 10/10. It was so yummy, had pulled pork, cheese, and it was smothered in gravy! Each bite was coated perfectly and they did not skimp on the pork! I am getting hungry thinking about it right now...I would love to actually come try some of their Irish dishes since it is an Irish sport pub. I knocked off one star, because the cleanliness of the restaurant slacked a little and so did the bathrooms, dirty no toilet paper or soap... floors were wet and sticky as well as the tables. I get super ick when i see that so it makes me wonder how their kitchen is...scary. Hopefully their staff cares about food handling and takes the back of the house serious!

I came back for the karaoke and gave this place another chance. It has gotten MUCH better! Food is still good. They have more staff, which helps a lot. It ia now a solid bar and great place for groups. Karaoke is every Friday and Saturday night 9pm-1am. Free parking in the large parking lot behind the block. There is a shortcut walkway from the parking lot to the front of the block.

To cap off a day of sightseeing in Washington DC. We referred to Yelp and found this amazing Irish pub! Lots of locals. After reviewing their menu and ordering adult beverages, my wife decided on their adult grilled cheese and I their mahi-mahi special. The adult grilled cheese was spectacular filled with thick, bacon and tomatoes, the mahi-mahi special was truly delicious! A large portion of fish and wonderfully steamed vegetables! We sat at the bar and of course had great service! It's really our favorite spot. Nibble on my wife ordered a side of their tater tots. They were crisp and delicious! For whatever ridiculous reason we still had room for a brownie sundae! If you're in the area, you could do a lot worse! Two thumbs up from our POV.

    Arlington mimosa, fish and chips
    Khang H.

My friends and I wanted to check this place out after our rock climbing session. Was a pleasant surprise, with great services and, a lively ambiance for a Wednesday night, and the food was great. I had the fish and chips, the fish was not greasy, light batter, and the fish didn't taste like it was frozen. The tartar sauce was solid, the chips were ok, nothing to complain about. The mimosa was good as well, pretty refreshing.

So I'll pose this questions to my fellow beer hunters. What matters to you most ... atmosphere of the bar, or an excellent selection of craft beers on tap, including a few that are hard to find, at rock bottom prices. If you are in the camp of the latter, then you will love Arlington Pub. I stumbled upon Arlington Pub a bit on accident. I was in the area and had heard lots of great things about Galaxy Hut and wanted to check them out. I got there about 4:15PM and found their door locked. Having to REALLY need to use the bathroom, I decided to hop across the street to Whole Foods, take care of business, and then figure out a place to kill time until 5PM. As I headed upstairs towards the restroom, I saw that my search for a place to kill time would be over quickly. Behold Arlington Pub. They had recently had a tap takeover from Oskar Blues Brewing, the brewery best know for Dale's Pale Ale. Tap takeovers are a great way to find and sample beers that you rarely see. In this case, it was the excellent Ninja Cow ESB. I found it a bit dark in color for an ESB, but had that characteristic ESB smoothness. They were on the tail end of the tap takeover, so some of the OB brews were tapped, but had been replaced with some interesting options. They offer a flight, so I decided to sample a few of the other OB offerings - their 10 Fidy Imperial Stout and Gubna Imperial IPA. I also threw in selections from other breweries - Sump Coffee Stout from Perennial and Allagash Curieux, a Belgian Tripel aged in Jim Beam bourbon barrels. These are all VERY strong beers, but the flight pours were generous, and there was no upcharge on the strong brews. The flight, normally $5, was $4 for happy hour. And prices like this is what makes you forget that you are enjoying cheap craft beer on the top floor of a hipster grocery store. My pint of Ninja Cow, normally $3, was a dollar off for happy hour. Throw in a double espresso to finish off after the flight, and my tab was under $10. And the bartender/barista actually functions as a checkout cashier, so there is no need to tip and no place for tipping on a credit card transaction. (I didn't ask if they were allowed to take cash tips ... I didn't have cash, so it was a bit of a moot point.) So if you can get over the fact that the this is a bar on the upper level of Whole Foods, you'll find Arlington Pub is a great place to kill some time and enjoy a great selection of craft beer at insanely cheap prices.

All the other Whole Foods have a much better Beer & Wine selection and are far more cleaner. The glasses all have lip marks and the tables have chunks of old food and are sticky ALWAYS! There are also numerous surveillance cameras & the lighting is extremely harsh above the bar which I find very odd. It's a shame because I love eating & having a drink or two at Whole Foods for it's a comfortable place to be alone & not feel like I'm at a meat market. I now many times go to the Fairoaks location which has lower nice lighting, is clean and has a great atmosphere.

I ended up biking and there's a bike stand really close by. My friend was craving fish and chips, so we ventured out this way. Because we came on a Thursday they had a deal going where if you ordered a pie, you could get a beer for free. Of course I had to partake, so I ordered the special pie, which was a masala, chicken, curry pie, and it was quite good. A bit small for the price point but with the beer included totally worth it also because their fries are so good. I could demolish over a pound of those fries. They were thick potato and maybe the extra added bonus of having to use a glass ketchup bottle added to it. My friend and I were also taught how to properly hit the ketchup bottle to get the ketchup out by the bartender. You find the 57 on the bottle at an angle and bump you palm there that instead of hitting the bottom and hoping and praying that ketchup comes out. It actually worked or at least it was more efficient than trying to hit the bottom of the bottle upside down. I had never had a hand pumped beer before, but it was quite good. They are a warm beer rotating and it was quite good, it especially paired well with the pie or fish and chips.

My interpretation of the gist of what everyone was complaining about was that they used to come here all the time (as did I years ago, but it's been a year since being here) and they didn't like the new, slimmed down menu... and they definitely hated the prices here now. Our service was ok, nothing special. I feel like the majority of the servers are very young and might not have the training, nor experience to understand what true service is, not just taking orders and bringing food. The menu was nice. We liked their "Everyday is Sunday" section of the menu, so we tried 2 orders (4 persons) of the pork chop tomahawk and 1 order (2 persons) of the Côte de Boeuf. We started with their Scotch Egg - WOW! Really flavorful with a great texture, inside and out. Definitely a very nice way to start. Cocktails and wine were a hit here for sure! Especially Jarad's G&T, which we got a couple of. Main dishes were great! Plenty of food too!! The spices on the crust of the porkchop tomahawk were so tasty and the temperature was spot-on! The steak in the Côte de Boeuf was incredible! Perfectly seasoned and at that absolute perfect temperature too! The carrots that came with this were very nicely done, but the potatoes stole the show! This dish came with OUTSTANDING Fondant potatoes... They had a great, smokey flavor to them, as if they were basted in pork fat. The meat was perfectly textured and flavored. Overall - While this is no longer the Hunter's Head that many came to know, love, and enjoy, I feel they're doing a decent job here. I'll definitely return, as I want to try their fish & chips!
