This is our first season playing in the Hot Shots league. First impressions when walking in was chaos, but you soon realize it is organized chaos. The snack bar is well stocked with just about anything you want, but I secretly think it is a trap as my kids have talked me into something each time we have been there. The referees have been fantastic, especially for the little ones being patient and explaining what the rules are and having fun while they do it. It would be nice if there was a bit more time between games as you are being stared at in the stands by the next games parents while you wait for your kiddos to come off the court. The only drawback of this location is getting back onto Industrial after the game, especially if both this center, the one across the street, and the soccer facility are all having events. It would be nice if the businesses worked with the City and County to put in a traffic light there to make this a bit easier. read more

The facilities are clean and organized and overall we have felt fortunate to get to play during COViD restrictions. They do enforce masks, temperature check & a walk thru sanitizer . In our play here however, we have found the backdrop of windows around the courts to be a safety concern. I would highly suggest more padding on the glass portions of the facility. Courts with windows behind the basketball hoops have metal mullions that are very dangerous, we have seen players break their arm on the mullion and other players get very hurt from slamming up against them. My other request would be to rotate the refs per game per court, I have 2 sons, 2 different teams that played back to back on court 5 from 2-6 and they had the same refs the entire time, both age groups were very physical and the refs called very little in fouls, 3 in the key, sportsmanship conduct. They seemed tired. Kudos for getting to play consistently with challenging teams just a few items that would improve the experience and safety. read more

It's no wonder that there was a COVID outbreak tied to this place... single entrance where you have to line up to get in. No enforcement of social distancing and masks are only required to walk into the door. Once inside, no mask needed for spectators. Parking lot is just as packed for practices, as it is games. I came for my daughters basketball games and paid $10 to watch the game. I'd assume the cost per person is to maintain the facility. Not today.... Numerous parents made complaints about their Bathrooms not being sanitary for kids and families. They didn't do anything about it. They never cleaned or restocked the bathrooms with toilet paper, seat covers and paper towels. Its so unfortunate especially for the athletes. read more

I am VERY disappointed in the owners of Courtside/Hotshots. The team we were opposing a couple nights ago was caught cheating and ended up losing the game to our team. After the game, their entire team stood blocking the sidewalk outside forcing us to walk around them in the parking lot. One of their parents confronted our coach calling him a cheater among other things. All of this happened in front of their players and other parents. I videotaped the woman yelling at us and emailed it to the league. Although it was acknowledged to me today that they received it, they did not respond to me. They are also refusing to actually do anything about this unsportsmanlike behavior which against their own standards of conduct. There is more that happened over the last two days but this is long enough. I will not be giving this organization any more of my hard earned money. We have played there for years and I had much higher expectations than this. Just one more time I have to explain adults behaving horribly to my children. read more

Very disappointed! No enforcement of masks, even after repeatedly asking them to make an announcement. After 5 hours of being there, there was not 1 announcement made. The kid at the entrance let several people in without a mask, when asked for the manager, they pointed to a man across the court completely isolated from everyone. He sat there the whole time and didn't see him get up one time. There was no limit on how many people can be inside. Women's restroom was disgusting and no toilet paper. Women had to use the men's restroom. Can't say about the men's but I'm sure it was just as disgusting. This is a COVID outbreak waiting to happen. One would think after months of having to shut down they'd be on top of everything. VERY POORLY RUN and VERY hesitant to go back for more tournaments. read more

Courtside is basically a basketball gym with referees and a snack bar. For that, it is a decent facility. If you or your child know how to play basketball, this is a league where they can form a team and play (like most adult leagues.) If you don't know how to play or are wanting to develop your skills, this is probably not the place for you. I signed my 6 year old up. The coach was just a parent volunteer. The kids learned almost no skills in practice, just shot the ball around with little to no fundamentals. The games, the kids were not called for traveling, so they could just carry the ball like a football, and then jack up shots, and defense was not allowed. A lot of money to have your child throw up bad shots and have a ref run up and down the court. We have switched to BTS and are very happy with that program. Our child is learning ball handling, shooting fundamentals, footwork, agility, conditioning, defense, etc. They even have NBA pros come out and work with the kids. read more

I have 2 boys in the Hot Shots program that have been coming here for a full year (4 seasons, I think). We love this place! Other than the initial season registration fee and a one time uniform fee, there are no other costs. I watch every practice and game, no one pays to attend them and extended families come to watch. I think the reviews speaking to an entrance fee may be for adult events??? Not sure but def not for Hot Shots. My now 1st and 2nd graders love this place, and I love my kids staying active all year while I get to sit comfortably inside during the heat of the summer and the drizzle/cold of the winter. We did the holiday basketball camp 12/27-12/28-22 and it was well worth the money and time. read more

Played a pickleball tournament here a couple weekends ago. The facility was clean and the people there were nice. The courts have large fabric dividers between them which could be better implemented as they open easily and are hard to put back together again leading to some light seeping through causing glares and missed shots. Otherwise, no real complaints from me. The floors were clean and grippy and I had a blast! read more

Courtside is $15 to get in and watch your kids games. So say you have a few kids/family members and tournaments every weekend it's just ridiculous. They charge an arm and a leg and don't even run air conditioning. Waaaaaay over priced. Hardwood isn't much better. Money hungry owners read more

My son played in a tournament here this weekend. Our bracket stated we are supposed to play Sac Soldiers. Long story short. Another team who were wearing Hot Shots jersey said that they were Sac Soldiers and had several of the same numbers in the same game. I talked to the daughter of the owner and she said that she would talk to the coach. If teams have to travel and pay to play then they should make sure there are some rules that should be met so it doesn't seem like a "hokey thrown together" tournament. I could have pulled other kids from other teams that I knew who were there to add to our team. read more

Be careful registering your child here. We registered my son for the next season while he was still playing the previous one and he sustained a knee injury which led to surgery and immobilization. He was not allowed to play for 12 months. He never set foot on the court for the season we registered him for. We submitted all medical documentation to them and politely asked for a refund. They offered us a limited time credit, we replied that he wasn't allowed to play within that time frame and as we are moving out of state will not be able to do that. They don't answer calls or reply to emails. We essentially had $100+ stolen from us without recourse with a valid medical excuse. Very disappointing. read more

I am not sure why this center gets only 3 stars. The facility is really nice. I have played a pickle ball tournament here and it was organized really well. Everyone was really friendly and I was so happy with how the tournament was run that I am returning for the one happening this week. From what I can tell from there website they have pickle ball open play during the week but since I do not live close I have never attended this. Overall nice facility and air conditioned! read more

This is where I come to play Pickleball. I really like it here because there is so much space on most of the courts. From what I have heard basketball is really big here on the weekends. I also met the owner, he is a very nice young man. Definitely suggest you to check it out if you play basketball or Pickleball. read more

Love the fact that you have the lost and found by the front door. Put a sign up so people know it is there. Love the fact that you display your lost water bottles. Good friendly place to go and watch the grandkids play. Parking is tight at times but it works. There is one ref, a tall black man, that is outstanding with the 5 year olds. He is out there teaching them the rules and giving everyone a chance. He has them one hand dribble. No steals, He is GREAT. Not all the refs do this. We come here for SAS basketball tournaments on the weekends. It's an OK area. There's a private parking lot and a few times there was a security guard at the front of the lot making sure you knew where you could and couldn't park. There's extra parking on the street as well. Plenty of parking is needed especially when there are tons of tournaments going on at the same time in other buildings. The staff that work the tables and the snack bar are friendly. I know they get some "iffy" people and they are used it. The staff is respectful and they take care of what needs to get done. My suggestion though, since there are a lot of kids playing basketball, is to invest in AED equipment and have the staff trained. With what's happening with kids and sports these days it's better to be prepared than not. Also, I noticed that there wasn't a dedicated first aid kit. The girl at the table out band aids and alcohol swabs out of a ziplock bag. As far as the snack bar goes, there's a ton of variety and it's convenient especially if your kid has back to back games. They have pizza (cheese or pepperoni), chicken strips, fries, nachos, hot dogs, chips, candy, etc. The food isn't too bad for being "snack bar" food. My only other qualm is about the courts. There's about 6 courts in this particular area. One of the courts my older boys played on was a shorter court so it was awkward to see them play on it. It looked more like a court that the little kids should be playing on rather than 7th/8th/9th graders. I think they've probably fixed this issue by now since that particular court I'm talking about isn't labeled as an actual court. I could be wrong since I did see a group of the younger kids playing a game on that court. Okay, one more thing...I promise...courts should be inspected. After the rainy weekend, buildings tend to leak. One of the courts had water all over the court and if the coach didn't decide to take it upon himself to inspect the court, the kids would have fallen all over the place and possibly hurt themselves. After each game, someone should be inspecting, cleaning, sweeping, etc. the courts. After all, these are kids we are talking about. It's a good place overall. read more

Courtside Basketball Center has a training program called Hotshots Elite. It should be called "Hot Mess Elites". We were duped into signing on to the tune of $1000. Many promises were made, none have been kept. The team size was supposed to be limited to 8 to 10 players and every player would get meaningful minutes in every game. This hasn't happened. Instead the team had 17 players and my son was not given ANY minutes in a recent tournament. We were promised we would play against top teams and our players would be exposed to top tier college coaches. Another promise unfulfilled. My son told me this morning he doesn't feel he is growing as a player and his game is stagnant and after watching 2 games this weekend (at a high school gym with no college scouts or coaches present) there was not one instance of adjustments by the coach. We were also charged another $300 for Adidas gear (Courtside is "supposedly" sponsored by Adidas) and have yet to get all we were promised. We have been in various sports with my son for since he was 4 and this is without a doubt the WORST program I have ever seen. Management makes promises and has yet to follow through. I could go on and on but suffice to say you would would get more exposure and training giving your money to a homeless person. Wish I could give minus stars. read more

Only recently have we started coming here for Anthem Futsal training and have really had really good experiences so far. The facility is nice and clean with 4 basketball courts in excellent condition. They also have a small snack bar and I personally haven't sampled anything besides a bottle of water and an energy drink it still is a nice feature especially if you are in a pinch. Also I know not super important to everyone but having nice clean bathrooms is a big bonus for our family especially with all girls. I have been coaching youth sports for over 25 years and have played in over 500 basketball facilities and Courtside is one of the clean and nicest. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and professional. Their main focus is helping coaches and their players develop sound fundamental basketball skills. The location is easy to get to off highway 65 and un-sportsman-like conduct is not tolerated. You definitely get what you pay for at Courtside. read more

Referee became very aggressive; used foul language in front of our 8 and 9 year old players and became physically violent. He proceeded to poke our coach in the eyes and swung an arm at our coach's wife, hitting her in the nose and mouth. Owner refused to remove referee from the court and told our team to leave the tournament saying "I need him to ref other games." Police department was called. Horrible experience and an incredibly horrible environment for children to be exposed to. read more

This is the newer of two basketball places in Rocklin. It is nice facility, especially Court 1. The operation boasts five courts with wood flooring ( in a 35000 square foot office park with raised ceilings) but watch out there are uneven parts all over so heads up to the grandparents who come watch and the players on their phones. Don't trip! It has bathrooms, air conditioning, bleacher seating, and electronic scoreboards. Admission fees are costly for tournaments. It is open for leagues, training, tournaments, camps, rentals etc their bread and butter is the tournaments. They share personnel with their sister facility Hardwood Palace. Parking is right out front but don't use the other businesses spots or you may get towed. Downsides are there are not window coverings on some windows so at times it can be hard for players to see on certain courts, referees seem to favor certain teams who are affiliated, and there is no snack bar. Pluses are it is clean, nice looking, set up well and in good shape. If you love basketball this might become your go to place. read more

Refs are terrible and the owner is worse. During half time the one good ref in the place asked one of my parents to come to the score table to talk about the difference in the score. During the conversation the younger ref came over upset and began yelling at the parents talking to the score keeper he then poked me in the eye and hit my wife in the face. We called the police department. The owner then asked us to wait outside for the cops she was going to allow the ref to keep working because in her words she said she had no choice. WORST courts to spend your time and money on. The courts are not managed by any staff and no scorekeeper or management leads to constant cheating, which seems to always result in a tie game "shootout" somehow. The staff just sits at a desk and hangs out while teams are bullied off the courts. Our team was there for two hours and got one game in. After bringing the situation up to the desk to the owner who happened to be there that night, he just argued that we had no way to prove we only played one game. We packed our bags and went right across the street to Hardwood Palace and had a great rest of our night. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AT COURTSIDE!! read more
