This bar is the epitome of upstate New York. As a long islander I was very impressed with the hunting decor and overall food. It was delicious!!! Ambience is great with darts, pool table, and some other games to stay entertained,especially when it rains up in the Catskills. The staff was super friendly and accommodating when taking orders and refilling our drinks. We stopped for lunch on the way to visit my brother. This was a total Yelp win. Well-deserved 4 1/2 stars. The food, while not breaking (or even tapping on) any culinary ground, was a good representation of basic bar food. The onion soup, which could be ordered with any of 5 cheeses, sadly none of which was Gruyere, was piping hot and delicious with provolone. Not too salty, either. I had a pastrami on rye. For some masochistic reason, I tend to order menu items that I really should have no chance of being satisfied by, ones that just aren't a match for the restaurant. I always think, 'well they're on the menu, let me try them.' Usually, this leads to disappointments, but often makes great Yelp review fodder. This was NOT the case. The pastrami was spicy and hot and delicious. They had the proper Gulden's spicy mustard and the rye bread was fresh. A simple and delicious hot pastrami sandwich in the heart of trout fishing country. Who knew?! Potato salad on the side was also good and house-made, which I like. Wife and I shared the combo platter of zucchini fries, beer battered chicken fingers, and potato skins. Each item was a really delicious example of its type. The beer battered chicken tenders were actually lighter than their usual peers and the potato skins had huge chunks of broccoli and bacon. As noted, nothing epicurean, but all well done. Service was fine. They turned one of the TVs to the Buffalo Bills game and we were happy. Price was great. 34.00 all inclusive with ample leftovers for a snack. Was in the area checking out summer house rentals. Our party ordered a patty-melt, crispy buffalo chicken wrap and a jalapeño cheddar burger. All three were extremely satisfied with their selections. Burgers were cooked to requested temp. All toppings were fresh. House-made potato salad was was excellent ---lightly dressed and the crunch of diced peppers. Fries were piping hot, golden outside with a creamy inside. This is not fine dining but was well executed on all levels for what it is. I recommend you give it a try. We just ate here this past Monday while traveling through the area over the weekend. We quickly realized that dining options around the Catskills can be very limited and far between different towns. After dining out all weekend, this place was our favorite and the best experience! The service from the bartender and server was exceptionally friendly. We opted to sit outside on their large deck. They told us they just got in new tables and it shows! Lots of space for larger parties and great for enjoying the scenery. I mentioned that our dogs were with us (in the truck ) and they quickly invited them to sit with us on the deck and brought them a water bowl. It suddenly started to rain and we had to relocate inside. (Without dogs) Once finally settled we had an awesome dinner of chili, garlic bread, the French dip and clams over linguine. Cheesecake for dessert topped it off ! All around fantastic experience - impeccably clean restaurant & bathrooms, delicious fresh food and extremely friendly and attentive service. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! My family and I have been been visiting The Catskills for years and in recent years we have constantly found yourself eating at The Courtyard at least once during our visit. We loved the Jalapeño Poppers! Despite our love for the food, I can confidently say we will no longer be returning. I was not going to leave a review, but I was shocked when I found out I was overcharged during my visit. On 11\27\19 I was charged an additional $16 on top of my bill that was already $79.92. I have attempted to each the management about this problem, but have yet to hear back. I cannot believe the management would allow their employees to STEAL from their guests like this. Wanted to like it more. Was excited with the great reviews but it didn't do it for our group of 4. Went on a Wednesday at 6 pm and it wasn't busy, yet it took 35 minutes for appetizers which were mediocre at best. Burgers were on dry side with rolls that were way to big. Ribs were dry with little sauce and rough. On the plus side, the beer was cold- the dining room was clean and the deck (which was more crowded) had nice views of adjoining golf course. I've never been much of a review person, but I felt this place might need it. I came in with my family tonight and prior to our arrival I called and requested to make a reservation. The employee informed me they were not taking reservations due to less seating, however she took note to our party size and expected arrival and suggested we arrive earlier than 6:30 because she said it would be busy. I appreciated her honesty, but unfortunately we were unable to make it prior to that time. With that being said our family did not mind waiting, however I want to note a few things we did mind. We were sat in the bar area even though there appeared to be an open table in the dinning area and since we had kids we weren't happy about it. The waitress did not seem to want us there. With that being said the bartender was not wearing a bra and it was very noticeable since she was wearing a white T-shirt. I felt like I walked into a wet T-shirt contest. I did not feel welcome and I certainly felt uncomfortable brining my family here. With that being said and on top of the 45 minute wait we decided to leave and go to the Rockland house up the road. Unfortunately the place was not as family friendly as they advertise, so unless you are a single man do not go there... I also want to add there was definitely no social distancing taking place. This place is a great way to meet people and have a great meal with some friends and have a great cocktail to go along with your meal. This place was renovated in the past few years inside and outside the decor was done with a lot of thought. In the winter you can sit down by the fireplace or in the summer enjoy your meal out on the spacious deck. Everything is made to order with the freshest ingredients available. It's a bar in a town where there aren't a lot of dining options. I didn't have high expectations. However, from the moment we walked in, we were pleasantly surprised. The bar/restaurant looks to have been recently and tastefully renovated and the atmosphere is very pleasant. There are several dining areas in addition to the bar and a nice area with a large fireplace. Our server was great and very efficient--it appeared she was acting as bartender and server for everyone in the place and doing a fine job of it. We enjoyed the calamari, which was perfectly cooked and served with a very good marinara. I am not always a fan of reubens, but my dining partner orders them everywhere we go and as we weren't starving after the calamari, we split one. The sandwich was enormous and made with corned beef, which we were told was made in house. It was easily the best reuben I've ever tasted and the coleslaw served on the side was also excellent. read more

We stopped on our way home from upstate to have a dinner and relax before heading downstate. We were pleasantly surprised. The waitress was very friendly and so knowledgable about the menu and the area. We enjoyed the beautful scenery and the cleaniless of the establishment. Our onion soup and chicken wings were excellant. We chose the special of the day which was Pot Roast and it was tender and delicious. Hoping everyone gets a chance to stop by and say hello to the owners. They are a lovely couple that work hard to please every one that stops by. Beautiful Labor Day Weekend and out for a ride with my husband. Sat on the patio in back on the beautiful new tables and chairs. We started with the zucchini sticks. They where really good and crispy. My husband had a super big burger I had a very yummy grilled cheese with tomato and bacon. The fries where so so good. Courtyard is a simple laid back place.
