This stay was for a quick overnight work trip. I arrived pretty late -- completely exhausted and starving after a three-hour drive -- but the hotel was easy to find with GPS, parking was simple, and I was greeted right away by two very polite front desk associates. The lobby is beautifully maintained and nicely decorated. There's a coffee bar right when you walk in, which is a great touch (though I'm not sure how frequently it's replenished throughout the day). My room was on the second floor, and it was spotless. One of the reasons I love Home2 Suites is how spacious the rooms feel. It truly feels more like a mini apartment than a standard hotel room. There are so many functional spaces to set your things down without feeling cramped. I had a full-size bed, a couch, and a long counter that could easily serve as a workspace for two people at once. I especially appreciate having the option to prepare your own meals. When you travel often, sometimes you just want to stay in and not eat out for every single meal. The bathroom was roomy with amazing hot water -- exactly what I needed to relax my muscles after that long drive. I slept great, no noise issues at all, and woke up fully refreshed. I didn't try the breakfast because my boss had suggested we go out instead. My only general suggestion -- and this applies to many hotels -- would be to focus on serving more fresh, real breakfast options. When you're staying at a Hilton property, you expect quality across the board, including the food. Overall, this was a great stay, and I would absolutely return.

My husband had a conference, and I had a soccer game so it worked out. Got here a little later than expected so I called the front desk before arriving. The lady greeted me kindly and let me know she would be at the desk until later on. I was happy to hear because when I finally arrived, she was actually there. I was greeted with a warm smile and she quickly checked me in so we could get settled. I asked about some amenities I may need and she pointed me to the right direction. They have a washer and dryer, which is something I do use when I go on vacation. The actual room was spacious. Always a plus when it's a couple of people in the room. It was clean and maintained so throughout our stay. Overall great hotel. The only "complaint" I have is the mattress however I feel like this is common in most hotels. Wasn't the best mattress that I have ever laid on but it worked for the couple of nights I stayed.

The bartenders were always great. It's close to a lot of restaurants/bars and about a 20 min drive to one of the near by beaches. The price was very good and honestly I wasn't expecting to look as good as it did. Only con is it is by a very busy street and at times the traffic can be loud. Overall, it was a really nice, fun place to stay and I would definitely stay there again.

I just figured how hard is it to have a tiki bar with a couple of fryers that can whip up some fried bar food like fries or cheese curds. There is a gas station right next door within walking distance, and for some reason maybe it was because it was in December, in the morning there was not even five cars in the parking lot, and it seemed like a good chunk of the rooms were being worked on, rebuilt, or remodeled. Mixed bag; let's do the good, the bad and the ugly:…read more The Good: very friendly staff, very clean common areas, a decent smattering of pre-packaged and warmed up breakfast options (including a waffle maker), coffee bar, some cozy outdoor seating, a small business center and a small but usable workout room. Nice towels, too, btw. Oh, and showers and a/c work very well, which is very important, obvs. The Bad: storage drawers and closet are kinda small, and there are maintenance and housekeeping gaffs that are more like 1 star road motel level (including pet hair in my fridge, weird stains on my upper wall, and a broken locking mechanism on my ground-floor window - also, my door had to be slammed to actually throw the latch, which made me feel bad for my neighbors). The "pool" is smaller than my spa at home, btw, though probably a nice cool down for summer patrons. Also, they service your room once every three days unless you request otherwise at the front desk. The Ugly: there is a local pervasive and consistent smell outside akin to a rotten grease trap... it's nasty and sometimes sit right on the place, other times blows through, but EVERYONE noticed it. Unknown cause, but it was very close to rendering plant/blown septic tank/open sewage/land-fill levels of offensive.

Usually I take one star off for frivolous 'revenue generating bullshit charges' ... the 'old resort fee scam' ... etc. There was no resort fee here but a $12 charge to park per day in a big, half empty parking lot nowhere near the beach ... Scam. There is no reason they should be charging guests $12 to self park here. None. The location is okay ... I'd much rather stay on the actual beach a few miles away. You can ride a bike to the beach from here but it's really located on a waterway/marina. There aren't many branded hotels on St. Petersburg Beach. A lot of older resorts ... but this hotel was around $195 per night and the Marriott Treasure Island resort, which was on th beach was $350. If I had kids with me, I'd stay on the beach. The hotel is immaculately clean. From the lobby to the rooms ... everything looked brand new and spotless. The food at breakfast was also good and very fresh. This might be the first Residence Inn I've stayed at that scrambles real eggs and not made them from powder. No waffle maker ... but breakfast was really good. The room was laid out very well and I liked the high ceilings. It had a balcony overlooking the canal too, which was nice to sit on after a long day. The only thing I hated was that there was an old style tub/shower combo vs. a walk-in shower. I hate step in shower/tub combos. The water pressure might have been the weakest in the shower and sink I have ever experienced. I could barely brush my teeth. The staff here was hit or miss. The woman who checked me in was super fantastic. The others at the front desk were clueless and had zero customer service training. It was such a night and day situation ... the one veteran woman was great. The two newer front desk agents were not. A few other things to note as an Elite member ... No late check out granted. No water bottles in the room. I did get an upgrade to a better room ... but only after asking. The bar on the top level is really cool and has great water views. They don't put the furniture out in the morning/afternoon and it doesn't open until 4 p.m. It's a shame you can't sit and relax there as the pool is small and crowded. Overall, this is a typical, clean, newer Residence Inn. I'd say the hotel itself is 4 stars. Can't believe they charge for parking ... and location is not ideal for going to the beach. It's basically a nicer Residence Inn in a pretty tropical location.

But once we went into the bathroom, several hairs were found on the toilet seat. The tub was also a little sketchy. It was a long day and long night so we didn't want to change rooms or wait for someone to come and straighten up the bathroom. The bed was clean which was more important. So my wife who travels with bleach wipes and rubber gloves cleaned the toilet and wiped everything down. When we checked out we told the clerk that we would not be staying our second night and we told her why. She didn't apologize or anything and at the amount we paid per night, you would think the room would have been spotless. One last thing, we arrived at our room after dark and the light switch for the bathroom was 10 feet inside the bathroom. I feel like it should be near the bathroom entry door.

Our king room was very spacious with a large sitting area, kitchenette, dressing room & small bath. The TV was very undersized for the space & as a result we never turned it on. Outside they have their own parking lot. We absolutely would stay here again. The convenience is perfect.

Parking is very small in front of the hotel but there is a lot in the lower level. Lower level kind of creepy looking and dark/dingy. Checking in was easy and the staff was nice. Water jug is by the lobby for a quick drink. Love the vibe of the hotel - retro but updated and colorful. We got an oceanfront view on the third floor, so palm trees were blocking our view. So if you get oceanfront, then try to get a floor that's higher than three. If you are on the southwest side you hear the music of Bongos restaurant until 11p each night. There was a nice balcony attached to the room, but the air conditioner unit was blowing hot air while you were sitting. You are able to have your porch door open and ac running at the same time. Fan in the room was nice. Shutters are a classy touch but windows themselves are old. The toilet in the room was bubbling throughout our stay, so the bathroom had a gross smell. The toilet pressure was horrible, and there were hard water marks all over the shower. Complimentary snow cones on Saturdays from 1-2p at the St. Pete Social in lobby. They are small but a nice gesture. Bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. Nice to have a refrigerator in the room. Towels for the pool and beach were constantly restocked. Never was a pile of old towels either. Maintenance folks were really on it. One guy was touchup painting the hallways, while another guy was cleaning the rugs to get rid of the sand. Get to the beach early to rent your cabana or chairs. You can hold your cabana for a few hours but if you don't come back then you lose it. There is a volleyball court and some other beach games. You can order food and drink from your cabana and it comes from the attached hotel restaurant, Bongos (their food isn't great). Spinners restaurant, level 11, and the St Pete Social in the lobby are all worth checking out for food. Skip bongos though, being on the beach is nice but their food is subpar. The water and beach is amazing and that is what you are paying for. The pool area is nice and has loungers and other seating areas to relax.

This is fraud, a serious safety breach, and a complete violation of privacy…read more I booked through Expedia/Hotwire and stayed at DoubleTree by Hilton Sarasota Bradenton Airport -- and while I was in the shower, with the door LOCKED, a man entered my room anyway. I screamed "NO" and he still walked in. This is beyond unacceptable -- this is dangerous. I immediately demanded to leave and was told I would receive a full refund. I didn't even stay 30 minutes. Then comes the worst part: The manager promised me a refund again and again and again -- every time sending me a "confirmation". Every single time, it was a fake receipt. David sent me a fake refund receipt. A week later -- he sent another fake receipt. Again -- promises, again -- lies. This is not "bad service". This is intentional deception and fraud. Between a stranger entering my locked room while I was naked in the shower, and a representative repeatedly sending fake documents and false confirmations -- this company has completely failed on every level: safety, honesty, and basic human decency. I expect an immediate real refund, not another fake email and a full investigation into this incident. Stay away.

I especially loved the built-in waterfall windows, though I wish they extended all the way up! The elevators don't require a room key, which is convenient. I stayed in a spacious suite with a neat view of SRQ landing strip. The suite included a sofa mattress, fridge, and microwave; I'm not sure if the regular rooms have a fridge or microwave. My kids had a blast in the indoor pool and hot tub. There are also outdoor poolside chairs available. I ordered chicken tenders with fries, and the food arrived hot and fresh. The kids enjoyed it and finished it all. The gym is conveniently located right next to the pool. I'll close it was this was a comfortable, convenient, and enjoyable visit!
