I was a guest at the courtyard by Marriott Amherst from August 5 through August 17. My departure date was to be the 18th but when I returned to my room after a long day, helping my daughter, who just delivered a baby, water was pouring out of the light fixture above the microwave/ refrigerator area. The carpet in the area was soaked. In addition, all of my specialty food items, since I am gluten free and brought with, were destroyed. I went down to the front desk where there was a line of people waiting to check in and stated my urgent matter. The front desk girl, Michelle, came up to see the problem, and said she would try to get me into a new room and set up a cart. I waited 30 minutes. I went downstairs. She still had a line of people needing attention. At that point I got the cart myself and told her I would be leaving. She apologized and said she would leave you a long note for the manager. In addition to this final day, my car was vandalized in the parking lot, I had gotten locked out of my room, which required a long wait time for somebody to come and bring a special key. Lastly, I had the sign on my door that I did not want any service because I am limiting my exposure to outsiders due to the new baby and somebody was in my room ironically the day of the leak so I'm not sure how they didn't see it. The reason for my stay in a hotel was because my daughter was mid move and went into labor early. My need for a hotel room was urgent and since we are rewards members, we went online to try to book a room. Marriott.com indicated the hotel was sold out however, when my husband checked, we were able to get a room through Expedia. I realize I pre-paid and that does not give me any benefits, but the fact of the matter is I am at least owed a response and refund. I was inconvenienced more than once, and there was zero common decency to even reach out to me. This is not how business is run in the Buffalo I grew up in. read more

Great property. Conveniently located close to the highway and all the attractions we planned to visit. Due to Covid they didn't offer food or daily housekeeping. The room was cozy but the mirrors needed to be cleaned. There was also a spot on the rug. I've stayed at several Courtyard Marriott properties and I know the standard. This was ok just needed that attention to detail. They had a firepit but since the hotel was slow it wasn't lit. They offered to light it but we didn't see the need to do it for just 2 people. Good basic comfy courtyard. Reasonable location near the airport with free parking. Rooms are updated and comfortable. Lobby is equipped with numerous TVs and fun seating areas for work or coffee sipping. Starbucks is not my favorite coffee breakfast choice- tends to be overpriced and burned tasting coffee ( aka Charbucks)-but egg white frittata was fresh and well served with arugula, cucumber and avocado, service friendly and quick. read more

The beds were comfortable and our room was clean but the thermostat didn't seem to get the heating and cooling to do what we wanted. Meh on breakfast, the idea of ordering something and having it "prepared" is silly since it's mostly all done and then assembled or watmed up there. Whoop-de-doo that Starbucks is served. I have to say I like a buffet-ish serve yourself as much or as little and long or as quickly as you like offering. read more

Cons: Hotel was advertised as per friendly, which I'm assuming was the manager, very rudely said it was not. Additionally, they wanted to charge an additional 75$ because they were "not pet friendly". Different management would have made this place much better. My husband and I stayed here and I do not recommend it. When we checked in, we were not aware that we had to request our room to be "refreshed". I understand since Covid things have changed. I requested this twice before anyone came to replace the towels and empty the garbage. We waited a couple days before requesting again and when we did, it did not happen. I went to ask the front desk staff about it and Ravi Sabharwal or Dennis Patel (not sure which one) the "manager", talked over me and interrupted me and said he would request it again. I was very polite about it. We were gone for the day and came back and they didn't touch the bathroom. Just emptied the garbage. The hotel is overall dirty, the people who "clean" need to be trained on how to do this properly. It was just gross. When we showered the water took a long time to drain so you were standing in dirty water. I mentioned this and was told someone would address it. This also never happened. The bathroom had gross streaks on the wall around the toilet and where the garbage can sat. Two days before we were to leave, I received an email thanking us for our stay. I called the front desk and she told me it was a mistake and apologized. Michelle at the front desk and Donna in the bar were lovely. I would never stay here again nor would I recommend it. After cancelling a 2nd night at another hotel upon arrival because it was awful, my teen daughter and I were thrilled to arrive at the Courtyard. It was clean, parking was easy and the front desk staff was pleasant and accommodating. The lobby and the rooms seemed recently renovated and we were happy with our stay. The hotel is conveniently located and pricing was reasonable. Would recommend staying here if you need to visit the Buffalo area. read more

This was one of the worst Courtyards I've stayed in. The rooms were not bad but staff seems inadequate, untrained, and unprofessional. They over charged me $150 for my stay. When I called the hotel to discuss an amendment, they said there was nothing they could do and that the additional charge was because I upgraded my room using my "Free Suite Night Awards" (I thought they were supposed to be FREE?!). After they said they couldn't do anything, I called corporate and explained to them my situation. They said the hotel should have taken care of it at check in but they didn't. The corporate customer service rep seemed annoyed at the hotel for not doing that. I was visiting for a wedding and there was supposed to be a shuttle to bring us to and from the reception. When I asked the hotel about the shuttle times, they had no idea what I was talking about and said they don't do shuttles, then the same staff member who didn't know about the shuttles was the one driving the shuttle that night! Last thing which was annoying is the cleaning staff left a half full Pepsi and phone charger in our room after the cleaning which did not belong to us. We had to bring it down to the front desk. Just an unprofessional establishment. As a platinum member that exclusively stays at Marriotts, I was extremely disappointed. read more

Overall cleanliness of this hotel is a concern. As a Marriott property, we were surprised at the poor attention to detail shown. For instance, the bed skirts on the beds in our room were completely filthy and the carpet buckled in some areas. This was totally unexpected given that we are Bonvoy members members who have stayed at Marriott properties throughout the country. We expect more and will seriously consider whether we should stay elsewhere in the future if these insufficiencies are not addressed. Pristine Hotel inside and out! Staff is professional, warm, attentive and helpful. Great quiet location with manicured and landscaped property. They are complying with Covid restrictions and my room was SPOTLESS, well stocked and all appliances worked. Service from front desk, to cafe to house keeping is attentive without being intrusive. Top notch hospitality. I felt very safe staying alone here for the end of my trip to Niagara Falls and exploring Buffalo. Book direct- they seem to give best deal than .com middle men websites and skipping the "free breakfast" was a smart move in end. Great breakfast in cafe is only $5-15 max anyway and this is a family run business that takes pride in hospitality, professionalism and cleanliness and it shows as soon as you walk in. I over heard they will be doing complete interior and exterior lobby renovations soon - if that's the case this location will be " Four Seasons light" in upstate NY. Beds- comfortable and high end linens ( unexpected bonus for price point) Rooms - spacious , immaculate and comfortable. Not a speck of dust and very neutral smelling and sanitary. Lobby- just as promised on website, modern and cozy. Free Wifi - no hassle instant connection and worked well for everyday needs and work emails, general browsing. Kitchenette- great coffee, cold clean mini fridge with mini freezer shelf and spotless. Pool & Courtyard- better in person than pictures when I arrived. Covid rules enforced and clean and easy to access. Convenience shop right in lobby Less than 5 min away from Weaam's supermarket ( Whole Foods dupe) and 10-15 min fri everything Buffalo has to offer. I won't say I was totally jazzed by this place. I will keep it short and to the point. Pros: 1. 10-15 minutes to the airport 2. Free Parking 3. Restaurant in the lobby 4. Friendly Staff Cons 1. Room walls aren't very thick. I could hear my next door neighbors all the time. Also perhaps they were being loud in the later hours of the night 2. Not a lot of options to eat if you just want to stay in and order. 3. My toilet was broken, they promptly fixed it but it kept on acting funky I can't say if I will rebook with them again. I love Marriott properties, but this one leaves little to be desired. The young lady checking me in was on the phone almost the entire time I was checking in, had to remind her that I was platinum and when I asked about a room upgrade (when there are like 6 cars in the parking lot) she acted as if they were totally sold out of rooms. The lobby smelled like burnt food and the high speed WiFi (that is free for Platinum guests) wasn't working. I've been here 5 hours of my two night stay and I already want to check out. I'm not a fan of this property and it isn't true to the Marriott brand. Two thumbs down from me, a true Marriott supporter and fan. read more

So I am traveling on business to Buffalo and randomly pick this Marriott. Walk in, hands full and reception is Buffalo friendly, which for an Albanian( NY) is so nice. "No Problem" was the answer to every question. Excellent, new property, great room. Mc Donalds is the only food nearby, and if you want a drink, Bistro was it. Didn't expect much and was shocked. Two fair pour Tito's and an absolutely first rate NY strip with superb service. Bistro had the flavor of a first rate Buffalo bar greeting old customers like regulars. Staff at this facility are cold and unapologetic. Guests were seen walking around without masks and employees did nothing. Rooms were dirty with garbage and half empty wine glasses laying within "clean rooms. " I ended up leaving within two hours of checkin because it was so dirty and awful. I tried to be understanding and ask if the room could be sanitized but they could not do that and when we asked for clean linens they didn't know if they had any. I was not given a refund but offered points... I will never book a room at another Courtyard EVER AGAIN!! read more

I was here for a business trip and arrived very late on Tuesday night, after having dislocated my shoulder just a few hours prior and making the drive in. The individual at the front desk was very friendly and offered to have someone help me with my bags since I was in a sling, though I respectfully declined since I didn't have much to carry. The room was very clean and comfortable and I had everything I needed. I was supposed to stay an extra night, but my injury had me returning home a day early. However, I would have been happy staying another night and very comfortable doing so. If I have to do another overnight, which I 100% will have to, I already know this will be my go-to in the area. read more

A truly outstanding Hotel in terms of customer service, Housekeeping, and the Managerial Team. My last stay here was from 2/23/18-2/24/18 and have stayed at this Hotel on a number of occasions. Kate, the GM, and Laura, the PM Manager are both outstanding, cook food in The Bistro, and do everything possible, along with their team to help make one's stay memorable here. Chelsea, Denise, Michele, and Janelis at the Front Desk are very efficient, welcoming, and handle my check ins very smoothly and with great warmth. The Bistro Restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner, and recently revised their menu. Try the banana bread French toast and blueberry pancakes for breakfast and the chicken pot pie or any of the flatbreads for dinner. Kate and Laura do a great job cooking and serving the meals here. The room is standard Courtyard by Marriott décor with rust and beige color carpeting and darker color furniture with a very comfortable king sized bed, firm mattress, plenty of firm pillows, and a very large desk area with a comfortable ergonomic chair. Housekeeping here is exceptional with all of the requested extra pillows and extra blanket in the room and the room is spotlessly clean, along with the rest of the facility. Small but very clean indoor pool, sauna, and fitness center. Plenty of free parking, and the Hotel is well back from the highway so road noise is not an issue. Very convenient location to the University of Buffalo, along with Buffalo Airport (free shuttles to both, and anywhere within a five mile radius of the Hotel). Doug and Adam are great Housemen and shuttle drivers. Highly recommend staying at this very well-run Hotel. Cost is moderate, compared to Buffalo and Niagara Falls Hotel during the summer. Kate, the GM, and Laura, the PM Mgr. are particularly outstanding and if you ever need special services and requests, they are extremely responsive. read more

Avoid this location. Room furnishings look like from garage sale - old chipped, scratched. Carpet old. Halls smell like dog pee. We bought a plug in to help. Removed furniture a nice recliner that we were enjoying from room 2 days after we checked in and gave us name of guest it was for and said it was for him because he comes weekly. Really - and we aren't a valued guest?!?! Ours was a 14 night stay and we also travel for business and are Bonvoy Members and Starwood owners. Sent detail to Marriott - hoping they call me. My family and I stayed here for six days while our home was being renovated. What a fantastic experience. The rooms are very comfortable, cozy and clean. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. I cannot sleep without a fan, and I forgot mine when I packed. Without hesitation, the front desk gave me the fan that was in the laundry room to use during my stay. The bistro has delicious food for breakfast and dinner. We sampled a little bit of everything, and loved the creative and yummy meals. If you are visiting the Buffalo area, I would highly recommend staying here. You will not be disappointed. read more

This is was not a great hotel choice. 1. The hotel has coffee makers in the room and it has white powder inside. Do they ever think to clean them? Im not going to risk getting sick because cleaning the coffee maker is not apart of housekeeping duty. I advise you not to drink the in-room coffee from the coffee maker because it doesnt get cleaned after each guest. 2. Their Bistro has the worst hours, and then they have fruit sitting in the refrigerator at the Bistro for purchase, BUT THE FRUIT LOOOKS LIKE IT IS PRUNING. The "fresh fruit" is dry from sitting too long, pruning, and looks like it had been cut a week ago. The strawberries are all scribbled up. They charge about $6 for "fresh fruit" that isnt fresh. It should be in the garbage. This hotel has no options. Why bother having a bistro if its not maintained or even open. read more

Stayed here on a whim and at the last minute.The woman working the front desk was sweet and really tried. I checked in which was seamless and quick. Upon getting to my room in hopes of getting right to bed I pulled the coverlet over and attached to the one corner was a giant ball of hair that looked like someone just cleaned out their hairbrush and it somehow ended up imbedded in the coverlet. I then pulled the sheets down and noticed not one but several strands of hair all over the bed including what appeared to be pubic hair. I immediately called the front desk repulsed and the woman agreed to come right up with a new key card for a new room. Just as I was putting my shoes on and gathering my belongings I noticed multiple toenail clippings on the rug beside the nightstand . I tried to bring the employee inside the room just to witness the grotesque display, but she kindly declined and offered to promptly get me to my replacement room. I arrived at my new room, the employee offered to wait while I checked the new bed...everything appeared okay so I sent her off, by this time it's close to 10pm. I get undressed and off to bed I go....about 10 minutes into relaxing that's when the loud pressured water noise began and didn't stop throughout the night repeatedly going off every 5 to 8 minutes, broken toilet perhaps who knows ....tossing and turning all night while 2 hotel guests carried on a conversation in the hallway. Then at 1125am I was awoken to a man banging and screaming, I couldn't make a word out he was saying but had to scream at the top of my lungs so he could hear me over the banging I would be "checking out soon". I can appreciate that there's other reservations and the need to get rooms ready but a wake up call over the phone from the front desk would suffice rather then beating on the door like the police. I woke up got dressed and noticed just how filthy this room was too....the lampshade had what looked like ketchup on it, the textured wallpaper had dust bunnies all over it by the heat duck that was right above my bed and the mattress that was slightly pulled away from the headboard had popcorn crumbs, dirt and dust all over it like it's never been vacuumed with in attachment. This is by far the Marriott Property I've ever stayed at. The complimentary bottle of water was a nice touch seeing as room was about 75 degrees.....never again! read more

Completely dissatisfied! Booked my double room with my Marriott app, which is linked to my Marriott rewards account. Reservation number confirmed! Or so I thought. After driving 9 hrs., we arrived at the front desk, tired. Denise, the polite, but powerless receptionist , informs our family that the hotel has been overbooked, and we have been moved to a comfort inn hotel. Comfort inn is not even a Marriott owned chain! I refuse, and request a manager. She calls Scott Cornell, the assistant GM, for this location. As I am on the phone listening to Scott tell me this is not his fault, Denise is going through her availability for this hotel. She is muttering that they have a suite. I jump, and tell Scott thanks for the upgrade! He responds not a chance, it has been reserved and paid for. What! My room was also bought and paid for, and he gave it away to someone else, so what is the issue? I explain my travel, and that I am refusing to relocate to a comfort inn. He says sorry, but to bad. I say I want to talk to his supervisor. He says, put Denise on the phone. I ask why, his response.......I am tired of listening to you bitch and complain. I interrupt him, and ask if he just cursed at me...silence.... crickets....then a weak voice, quivering, asks, please put Denise on the phone. Unbelievably, they now have a room to honor my reservation...which was made on my Marriott App, which is linked to my Marriott rewards account, which has a verified CC for payment. Poor Denise was left out to dry, while upper management for this specific location, overbooked. Then that same management team expected their paying, loyal rewards consumer to be inconvenienced for their convenience. I now have 2 kids sleeping in a king, while I am sleeping on a pullout couch. Not what I booked! Not what I paid for! Not what my reservation number, on my Marriott app, which is linked to my Marriott rewards acct, is verifying! And to have a member of Marriott's management team speak to me so unprofessionally, and then get mad because I refuse to relocate, is unacceptable! Bad job at best! read more

So my friend works at the courtyard Marriott doing night aduit and her MANGER (Justin & Bobby)was in a guest room hanging out with with friends well he called the front desk and asked her to bring him some snacks to the room when she got to the room they were drunk doing cocaine and offered her 100 for SEX my friend had a bad experience in the past with something similar. When she tried to contact the owner and other Manager they basically didn't give a shit and told her to call the cops. Like what kinda place is this. Then as the guys were leaving my friend was so nervous and shaking they hugged her and because she accepted the hug and the cameras seen that they don't believe her story. She was scared and just wanted them to leave . I think this is disgusting. Also the MANGER just messaged her thanks for throwing us under we appreciate it like what the hell . read more
