Continental breakfast is served off the lobby 06:30-10:30; check-out is 11:00. Corporate policy seems to have changed: Every guest is now called in their room to come visit the amenities: The bar, the gift shop, the sundries area. Unfortunately, this happened while I was fast asleep after a hard day - I awoke in terror, thinking the hospital was calling about a change in condition. Huge props to the staff here as everyone is very kind and accommodating. The service was good. My family was so grateful for their complimentary shuttle to get around downtown in a pinch. Breakfast is included. There's also a lovely fitness center and laundry room for guests. Unfortunately, my family and I moved rooms twice during a four night stay because of bedbugs. By the end I think I must've had 30 to 40 bites. The last day we meant to spend in buffalo was spent at the hotel unpacking and heat treating everything we had with us in large plastic bags (as per the hotel's request). We were upgraded to a nice suite on the top floor afterwards, but I did not sleep well for fear of more bugs. I will be throwing out my suitcase after this. Again, the staff was very professional and offered additional amenities and a discounted stay. It seems like they've dealt with this issue before because they were very well prepared to take care of the problem, but be wary. This is a high traffic hotel and floors 3&4 are not recommended. read more

Honestly, I had not planned to stay at the Wyndham Garden Buffalo Downtown at all--- but, wow, I feel incredibly lucky to have gotten to stay there. Why the 5 out of 5 stars? Primarily: the people Getting stood up was the worst, so staying at the Wyndham was the true highlight. I could not have survived without Johnnie, Charlie, Randy, Sierra, and Debbie, particularly. Their kindness to extend a listening ear as I ranted on and on about feeling rejected to offering fun Buffalo restaurants and bars for me to go out to--- all of that made this stay at the Wyndham the best. I literally only came to Buffalo to visit someone, and that person ended up not taking the time for me. All that to say, the Wyndham employees... they really didn't have to do all of that but they made me feel at home for the weekend. The room itself? Randy was thoughtful in recognizing I was traveling/staying by myself and offered me a king-sized bed room without connecting doors on a high floor. This kind of service needs to be commended. The room was clean. I did wish I had gotten a couple more clean towels, but other than that--- not that big of a deal. Food? I didn't even know they offered a breakfast. It did say continental so I didn't expect much--- but even in this area I was surprised! There were hot options, including eggs, sausage, and potatoes every day I was there. Not sure if that was just because I was there on a weekend, but no complaints here! Regarding location? Well, I am one to walk around so I don't mind walking the 15 to 30 minutes to other spots in downtown Buffalo. However, they do offer a shuttle service (so shout out to Johnnie for being my driver all weekend), which range in time they pick up folks. This was convenient because I did not have to Uber anywhere once I got to the hotel. Overall, while I feel broken inside for generally coming to Buffalo, the people of the Wyndham Garden Buffalo Downtown helped me feel a little bit more whole. All the staff has been expertly trained to provide hotel guests with kind words, helpful information, and a smile. My sister-in-law and I stayed a few days this week because my husband is seriously ill at Buffalo General Hospital. We didn't realize how out of sort we were until we pulled up and Felix, the valet said he would take care of our vehicle for us. We checked in with Cooper who made the check-in process a breeze. The next day, my sister-in-law locked herself out of her room. She went down to the front desk to ask for another key and gave them the wrong room number. Without batting an eye, they took care of everything. That same day, I realized my hat was in my car and I wanted to go for a walk. Felix walked over with me to my car to get my hat and then walked back with me to the hotel. The breakfast workers were making more coffee when we came in, as soon as the coffee was ready, they brought over a cup for each of us. We extended our stay and the assistant manager helped us through the whole process.That is exceptional service. Stayed overnight here on the way to Toronto. This hotel is located by the hospitals & Jacob's medical school. It provides FREE shuttle - to & from airport & anywhere in downtown (just give tip to driver)! Yes, they will drop u off at a store, any downtown venues, or attractions & pick you up! The facility is nice & clean. Our shuttle picked us up in about 25 minutes after I called from the airport. The driver was very friendly. Check in was easy & pleasant, as the front desk staff was very welcoming. The breakfast was "grab & go", BUT it's a variety of grab & go items (see pictures), more than the typical one-muffin-&-an-apple grab & go. They have milk for the cereals & oatmeal, boiled eggs, yogurt, peanut butter, jelly, honey. COFFEE is 24/7 by the front desk - yay! You also have coffee maker & coffee in room, microwave, & a "medium" small fridge. THE GYM - clean & well maintained, equipped with 2 treadmills, 2 ellipticals, a recumbent bike, hand weights, resistant balls, & weighted balls. There's a basket with earphones by the towels. If you walk towards pass the children's medical center (northwest of hotel), towards Main st, there's an Indian restaurant, Wendy's, Buffalo wing restaurant, about 10 min walk or less (depending on how fast u walk). I was really surprised how wonderful our room was. We were offered a suite for our one night stay. The service was absolutely incredible. We had all intentions on walking to the downtown casino (about two miles) until we realized where the location of the hotel actually is. This is across from Roswell park. Anyone that's familiar with the area knows that it can be very sketchy there. There is no place to park so prepare to pay $20 for valet parking per day. Trust me, it's worth it to avoid getting your car broken into. DO NOT KEEP ANY VALUABLES IN THE CAR!! Did I mention the customer service here was incredible? When they overheard us talking about walking, they offered us a shuttle to and from the casino. Bless them... Because we had allot to drink there so I appreciate them picking us up also. They even offered to pick up my food outside for me when my UberEATS showed up (probably because of the sketchy neighborhood). I stayed here the weekend of August 21-23 for a wedding in town. Could not have asked for more. The entire front desk crew was great and super accommodating. They have valet parking too which I thought was 100% worth it for $18/day. The room was clean and no bed bugs - I was the most afraid of this. I don't think the cleaning crew came everyday, probably another covid overlay, but I didn't mind at all. Just don't live like a pig lol. The location was great since it was on the outer edge of the city. I was within 5 minutes of city life and about 30 min away from the falls. I stayed at the Wyndham for the New York law bar exam. The staff did everything to make the experience easier. Shout out to Randy at the front desk. Staff: We realized the air conditioning wasn't working in our room. It was a hot and humid day in July, so we called the front desk. A staff member Randy quickly came up to our room to check the A/C. He acknowledged that the hotel were fully booked, but he would do his best to move us to another room. In the meantime, he brought a standing fan up to us. Because we knew that all hotels in Buffalo *were* fully booked for the bar exam, we didn't expect to be moved and prepared to handle the heat. However, an hour later, another staff member brought keys to another room with working A/C. A few minutes after that, Randy stopped by to check in on us. (We had heard a woman at the front desk ask for a last-minute room, but Randy politely declined. We knew the hotel could have filled the open room for the extra revenue, but Randy was committed to taking care of us.) Location: The hotel is about a 25-minute walk the Niagara Convention Center. Especially if you're there for the bar exam, it's nice to be away from all the other bar candidates, and there are a lot of great places to eat a few minutes away on Allen Street. In addition, the hotel runs a very convenient shuttle service to and from the center, which is very convenient for bar students who cannot take their phones to the test. read more

Things were going well until it was time for me to pick up my bags after having left them with the hotel due to having a late flight. After arriving to get my nags, I provided the young lady with the tickets, then proceeded to the restroom. I returned to the desk area, and while there I saw the young lady gesturing toward me with a look of frustration. I didn't expect to have to retrieve the bags because I didn't put them in their present location. She had my tickets yet asked me which bags were mine, which I retrieved. I then asked whether the shuttle was available to take me to the airport and she advised that only one bellman was available, that she could call a cab. When I asked whether the cab would be complimentary, she said no, to which I replied that I could call my own ride. We booked this hotel from booking.com and we got a great discount. The room is very nice and big. Bed is comfortable. It's pretty closed to the Anchor Restaurant which is the origin of buffalo chicken. It has their own restaurant and lounge which are great too. I think this is a nice place. read more

I booked this hotel for my birthday. Two nights just to relax. The only reason I booked this exact hotel is because the pictures were nice of the rooms, and I really wanted to take a bubble bath. The room did not the pictures online. The bathtub drain did not push all the way down making sure the the tub was plugged. Therefore without manually pushing the drain down with my feet, water was leaving the tub and I was unable to take a bath. TL;DR: Cockroach problem exacerbated by woefully incompetent and rude service. Let me preface this by saying that I do not usually write negative reviews. Customers can be unreasonable and often exaggerate. However, I assure you, the following is all true. My stay at the Wyndham Garden Buffalo Downtown was scheduled for 3 nights. The stay was actually quite pleasant for the first two nights. On the morning after the third night I woke up in preparation to freshen up, pack, and check out. I turned on my bedside lamp and froze. There was a large cockroach right next to where my hand was (near the lamp switch). I was immediately sick to my stomach. How long had that thing been crawling around my room? Around my bed while I was asleep? How many were there hiding in dark corners? After I got over my initial shock I took a picture, because I was worried of not being believed. The cockroach soon skittered into darkness and obscurity behind the bed. I know that this hotel is not a 5-star hotel, but I don't think it is unreasonable to expect a 3-star hotel not to best infested with roaches (especially one that charged $280/night). After that, I packed up immediately and in a hurry. I didn't bother to take a shower - I just wanted to leave. When I arrived at the check-out counter there was no one else in the lobby and a lone employee working the front desk. He asked for my keycards and my room number and told me I could leave. He did not ask me how my stay was, which would usually be fine if it weren't for the fact that my entire stay had just been ruined by this cockroach. So, I just told him directly - there was a cockroach in my room and I was upset. I was not looking for any benefit or room upgrades (as some people might when they complain at a hotel). I was checked out. My bags were packed. I just wanted to be taken seriously and treated like a human being. Even a mild "sorry this negatively impacted your experience with us" would have sufficed. I guess I expected too much. The desk clerk barely looked up from what he was doing and simply said "mmhm, we'll look into it." End of conversation. Good bye. Dismissed. Four and a half words and not a glance. I can only conclude one of two things from this non-response: (1) the hotel was fully aware of this roach problem and this was not new information; and/or (2) me and my concern/experience were not worth taking seriously. Either way, horrible. I sat down quietly for a few minutes processing this interaction. I decided to approach the clerk again and express that I did not feel like his response adequately addressed my concerns. I told him if he did not believe me I could show him the pictures. He responded, "I already told you we'd look into it". But he did look at me this time, but only to facially express that I was being a nuisance. If this were a restaurant, and a customer just told you they found a cockroach at the bottom of their soup, would the adequate response be, "mmhmm, we'll look into it. goodbye"? Since he was not being very helpful, I asked to speak to a supervisor. He claimed he was the supervisor and would not get anyone else for me. I asked for his name and he refused to disclose it. That cowardice speaks for itself. Since I don't know his name, I can only say that he has shoulder-length hair and wears glasses. If you ever have the misfortune of staying at this hotel, at least save yourself some further suffering by avoiding this man. Unless of course you enjoy feeling like garbage. If this man truly is in management, well, I guess this only further reflects on the quality of Wyndham properties at all levels. Altogether it was a rather surreal experience. Kafka-esque even. My wife was having cancer surgery at Roswell Park near the Wyndham Hotel. Online the hospital had a special rate with the hotel and said there was an enclosed skywalk to the hotel. On the day of the surgery, a cold, drizzly late October day, parked in the hospital ramp, I called the Wyndham to ask about the skywalk. It was closed due to Covid 19. I asked how to get there by foot. The desk clerk was very friendly, saying that a courtesy van would be right there, she didn't want me walking in the rain. In just a couple minutes, I was picked up and check-in was quick and friendly. After a few nights, I went home, then, reserving a couple more nights, I came back to the hotel. The hospital had restricted visiting hours and it was only 10 am. I asked the desk clerk if I could get early check-in. She said it shouldn't be a problem. After a couple more nights, I went home again and reserved two more nights. The next day I found out my wife was being released, I called the hotel and they offered same day cancellation with no charge. The room was very clean and comfortable, the breakfast was limited due to covid, but the continental breakfast was well stocked with a good variety of bagels, muffins, cereal, fruits, juices coffee and tea in a large, comfortable dining area. It was the intangibles though, the friendly, competent service that impressed me, and helped ease my stress during my wife's recovery. Highly recommended. read more

BEWARE!!! I just stayed at this hotel (checked out August 8th) and my room had several bedbugs!! I am so absolutely disgusted and all the hotel offered me was a refund on my room, meanwhile I need to go home and fumigate now because I don't know what I brought home with me.
