Stayed here for one night and was impressed with how amazing this hotel is for being an airport hotel! The Pool - Wow, I was so impressed with this pool and hot tub. The pool is huge and gets a lot of sun. The area is really nice and would be a great place to stay for a few days. The Room - Rooms were nice and come with two water bottles and two free coffee packets - Room was clean and comes with 2 wipes to clean germs Airport Shuttle - When you land in Cancun you will have to call the hotel to have them pick you up from the hotel. They will ask for your name and tell you where to meet them once you exit the airport. They have a big bus that can fit 11 people, but we did have to wait for 45 minutes. The Food There is a restaurant on the property right by where you check in which has indoor and outdoor seating. Dinner - Dinner was great, we had tacos outside with great service. Breakfast - Breakfast was included and was delicious. They have eggs, fruit and croissants. My favorite was the Mexican coffee.

Looks good right? Don't judge the book by it's cover

Stayed here for the night and at first I thought this is good will be able to sleep good tonight before a very long day tomorrow. The room was clean, the bathroom is large and the water pressure is just the way I like it. I ordered room service since I was a bit hungry but I don't want anything heavy so I ordered there bbq wings--- disappointed. It was 6 little pieces with old welted carrots, so that was a waste of money. When I finally laid in bed I thought hmmm this seems to be stiff it's almost as if I'm laying on a lobby sofa. The pillows were also soggy, it looks fluffy yet when you placed your head you just sunk. I can't possibly have a big, heavy head. Woke up in the morning with housekeepers banging things, laughing, talking in the hallway now that really just infuriates me. I hate being woken up with noise especially before my alarm wakes me. I tried to ignore but it kept getting louder and louder so I got out of bed and I opened the door and told them to lower it down -- that helped. I was able to sleep for another hour even though the bed was hard and pillows are just horrible. Needless to say this stay was not good at all. I'll probably pick a different place next time. Thank goodness I'm only staying here for one night.

Very pleasantly surprised by this airport Marriott. Some standouts include the helpful bellhop and large pool area and beautiful grounds. Upon arrival, the bellhop was extremely helpful with our bags and made sure we were comfortable. We had a lot of luggage so we appreciated his help. The pool was a highlight of our stay - it was clean, well-maintained, and a great place to relax and unwind. The hot tub was HUGE and not overly hot. Our room was also very clean and comfortable, with all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. The only downside was that the check-in process was a bit slow, but it wasn't a major issue for us. We were also Marriott Platinum members, but didn't get an upgrade, which was a bit of bummer but we also didn't ask so not a huge deal. It's nice though when they're proactive about that :) Overall, our stay was as expected, and we were very happy with the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, the facilities were great, and the room was clean and comfortable. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Stayed one night in between flights and enjoyed my stay here. Checkin was easy. I did utilize the shuttle service which you have to call the hotel for: due to road construction it could be 30-35 mins to pickup and then the 2.8km journey becomes around 20-30 mins for detour. To checkout the hotel shuttle is every half an hour on the dot so make sure you are downstairs 15 minutes ahead of the hour or half hour to catch it on time. NOTE: elevator does not seem to work due to construction which presents major accessibility challenges. Request ground floor if stair access does not work for you. Suite upgrade for Marriott bonvoy was very nice and spacious. Plenty of room for family or to spread out. Appreciated room service after a long flight too. A simple call takes care of it. Overall a good choice for quick layovers or airport stays!

First, I appreciate the airport pickup, it is very convenient and easy to find outside the airport. The staff is very friendly, and it seems genuine. The lobby is very modern, and clean. There is a bar and plenty of seating to just lounge around with your drink or food. I booked my room through Hotels.com and made an error in my booking. While checking in this error was easily resolved. We were only here for a night before moving onto our resort stay, but I am pleased with our accommodations. The restaurant inside is moderately priced for dinner and drinks. The food is good, it just lacked Mexican seasoning. The best thing I ate were the shrimp tacos. The drinks were good, and they didn't skimp on the alcohol. The beds are very comfortable and the shower was great! There is water in your room...please do not drink water from the sink, you will get sick. The only reason I have not given this Marriott 5 stars is because of the smell upstairs and the tattered carpet on our floor. They seriously need to replace the carpet for something that doesn't shed. That carpet was all over my shoes...we even had some in our shower before using it, because it was on the shoes of housekeeping. Also, there weren't fitted sheets on the beds, just flats. All in all it was a good night and I'd book again if I'm in need of a hotel in that area of Cancun.

Aesthetically pleasing hotel! Loved the pool & hammocks. The room was super relaxing and my mood changed as soon as I walked into the room. I can tell the recently updated and it's really nice. We had dinner at the hotel bistro. The food was just okay and the margarita tasted watered down. Overall good customer service and I had great sleep!

Took a pic in the mirror of the spacious closet which had an extra blanket and pillow in case you have a guest!

Stayed here a few nights with my boyfriend. The hotel was very clean and modern. I got a delicious frozen margarita from the front bar. There is a restaurant in the hotel that is open until 10 p.m. The food was okay. However the restaurant staff was accommodating with a little push, and I appreciate it. I want to shout out John at the front desk. He was kind and made sure our needs were met. We hung out at the pool and in the jacuzzi. The jacuzzi was cold and needed a light cleaning. Our room was cozy and I liked the layout. It was perfect for two people. There were ample body mirrors which I really like. I have no complaints about the room. On our last day there, work was being done on the elevator so we had to take the stairs. The free airport shuttle is a lifesaver but the driver is serious about his tip! We would stay here again if we ever go back to Cancun.

It's been over a week since my stay at this Marriott location. My family and I had planned a trip to stay at a resort in Cancun but our flight wasn't going to land until the afternoon so we didn't see the point of paying over $200 when we could just pay a quarter of that at the Marriott of one night. As soon as we landed in Cancun we called the hotel to ensure the complimentary shuttle bus was going to be there once we got out to the parking lot, then we called again when we were getting our luggage. The location where they told us to wait was so confusing to find. A huge hassle! Luckily we found some other people where were looking for the exact same bus as us. The had us waiting for 20 minutes saying the driver is on his way. We see the bus drive right passed as if he was avoiding us. Other taxis I was talking to agreed with us saying they hotel employees seem to not care if they pick up guests or not as they're getting paid regardless. So basically had to call the hotel again asking where the shuttle was and they said they're on their way, when I mentioned we saw the bus drive right passed us she tried to defend the driver saying it wasn't the correct bus... yet us had the name on the hotel on the side. At that point we all just waited for over 45mins.

Great margaritas. The rooms feel and look like a dorm room. Tile floor, minimal and cheap furniture, poor lighting, and the room overlooks a parking lot filled with old air-conditioning units and furniture. The hotel is very close to the airport. The hotel has a shuttle. The check-in and check-out process can be slow. Free breakfast beginning at 6:00.

    Flora H.

Convenient to the airport, the shuttle runs every 30 minutes on the hour and half hour and is only a few minutes away. But other than before a flight, I'm not sure the airport that I would stay here. The rooms aren't cheap (for Mexico, but maybe for Cancun) and they are very basic/dated, but have everything that you need. My room was FREEZING and never quite warmed up even though I turned the air off as soon as I got there. I ordered room service which came fairly quickly (quesadilla - okay) but there was some confusion because I couldn't pay for it on the room so they came back 15 minutes later to get a credit card payment from me. Only a couple English channels on TV. Utilitarian hotel that serves its purpose.

Due to having a suite, we had butlers Romero and Isaías, and they were both AMAZING. They were extremely attentive, and whatever we needed was never an issue. If we asked for something, it was done quickly and without hesitation. You honestly couldn't ask for better service. We also had access to the Aqua Club, which was open from 7 AM-10 PM and offered premium liquor along with light snacks for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The waiters there--Daniel, Guillermo, and Eduardo--were great! They were even willing to make us our favorite shots that they had never heard of (blowjobs... Google it ), but they made them anyway! The lounge itself is super relaxing, with spectacular ocean views from the 5th floor. Now, onto the part we ALL care about the most: THE FOOD! There are several restaurants on the property to choose from, but our absolute favorite was Hidden Garden, which is Asian-inspired and run by Chef Mario. Everything we ordered was spectacular! Chef Mario even came out to our table, greeted us personally, and provided us with a menu curated by him--which I'm assuming was because it was my birthday... lol. They also have one paid restaurant called Carnivore, which is a steakhouse. Now, I am a self-proclaimed steakhouse snob, so I have to keep it real: for the price, it was mid. But for a resort steakhouse, it was good. The rest of the food throughout the resort was WAAYYYY better than expected--even the poolside grill and the food you can order directly to your cabana. Everything was well-seasoned and cooked to perfection. The ribs they made at the poolside grill every day were FANTASTIC! The head of culinary at the resort, Mr. Germain, is definitely doing what needs to be done because the food was consistently impressive throughout the property. Now, the second-most important thing for most people: NIGHTLIFE. Personally, I came to relax, and the overall vibe of the resort definitely gives relaxation. However, they do have a nightclub called Egos, which stays open until 1 AM. I went once, but it wasn't really my music or my vibe. If you're looking for more of a nightlife scene, I would suggest heading into the city. BUTTTT... if you love a good pool party, make sure you hit the Moët Pool Party because BABYYYYYY... it was LIT! Overall, the resort exceeded my expectations. The service, food, atmosphere, and attention to detail made for an amazing experience, and I would absolutely consider coming back!

However, what truly struck us both this time was the incredibly warm treatment we received. A hotel is only as great as its staff, and the team here is what makes it special. We booked a club-level oceanfront room, which included butler service. Our butler, Arturo, absolutely came through for us. He handled our restaurant and cabana reservations ahead of time and was instrumental in securing a late check-out on our final day. The dining at this all-inclusive is superb. For breakfast, Siete offers a decent buffet, and our waiter, Helvert, was incredibly kind and always took the time to chat with us. For dinner, DB was our top choice for elegant continental dining, complete with a live pianist. The manager, Susana, provided excellent service, the food was delicious, and the chef even came out to greet us. We also loved Hidden Gardens, a relaxed Asian-fusion spot with tasty food, impeccable service, and another welcome visit from the chef. During the sweltering day, the pool is the main draw. Lalo was always helpful in securing our requested cabana. They cost an extra $115 each time, but they are completely worth it to escape the intense sun. Our pool waitress, Marysol, befriended us and knew exactly what non-alcoholic drinks to bring us. My wife is a big coffee drinker, so we frequently stopped by the included Starbucks, where David the barista gave excellent service and loved chatting with me about World Cup soccer. Also, a big shoutout goes out to Lady and Daisy at the spa. They gave my wife and I heavenly massages. However, the absolute heart of the entire hotel is Marco, the extraordinary juicer at Siete! His positivity, jokes, and contagious smile drew a long line of people waiting for his blended drinks every morning. Thank you to everyone for making our trip so memorable!

At check, I told the gentleman with the glass that I had been trying to call them for the past 4 days to book a room and confirm the free airport shuttle, but he so was so unhelpful and rude. When I explained the situation and showed him my phone records, he insisted that their phone worked fine and are always answered -- obviously, not. He kept asking who I spoke to, despite my telling him I didn't know but called over 30 times over multiple days with the help of my hotel staff who researched their alternative numbers online as well. He didn't apologize or seem at all concerned that their contact information was outdated despite my showing him my email confirmation with the hotel info, their Google page, and even chatGPT which all had the 'incorrect number.' The hotel itself looked rundown and almost shut down from outside when I arrived on a dark, rainy night. Oddly enough, the room and lobby areas were immaculately clean though I had no hot water in my shower. I was too tired to address it with the man again so just let it be. I'd already witnessed his smugly address another guest who's fan remote wasn't working so I had no interest in putting myself thru another ordeal with him. I will say I appreciated the breakfast buffet, which was managed well by a friendly staff person. The food options, including tasty mocha coffee, were good -- cereal and a few tasty hot items. Despite these positives, the slow Wi-Fi and overall poor customer service left a very bad impression. I'm glad I only paid less than $60 for this stay, as I definitely would have had even stronger opinions at a higher price given the service and overall experience. Last pointer, the shuttle only goes out at 2 hours intervals and reviews say it can be late. I wasn't willing to risk an extra 2 hours at the airport or being late so ended up getting an Uber which by the way tried to charge me $40 instead of $8 after dropping me off. Thank goodness I caught it and contested it! Good luck friends!

Despite making a reservation, we spent over 45 minutes waiting for our shuttle and even after calling the hotel twice, the front desk kept insisting that it was coming. Truly Felt Like Family -- An Unforgettable Stay at Hyatt Ziva Cancun…read more Where do I even begin? we traveled here for my birthday and from the very first moment we arrived at Hyatt Ziva Cancun, we were welcomed with such genuine warmth and kindness. The staff immediately made us feel at home, and that feeling continued throughout our entire stay. The resort itself is absolutely beautiful--spotless, incredibly clean, and very well maintained. The service was exceptional. A huge compliment to the management team for combining the high standards you expect from a Hyatt resort with the warmth, friendliness, and genuine hospitality of Mexico. That combination made our experience truly special. And the food! We tried every restaurant during our stay, and honestly, the food was fantastic everywhere. If I had to choose a favorite, it would be the French restaurant, but we enjoyed every place we tried. The rooms were beautiful, extremely clean, and had amazing views. I was especially impressed that our room was serviced twice a day. There were also plenty of activities throughout the resort, and we had so much fun participating in them. But what really made this trip unforgettable were the people. A very special thank you to Leila Guirin, Diana, Virgilio Castillo, Odalys, Angelica, Alejandro, Roman, Diego, Jazer, Natasha, and especially the amazing Edgar, who seems to wear many hats! Edgar was not only a fantastic entertainer but became someone we truly considered a friend. These are just some of the names I remember. Unfortunately, I lost the list I had written because there were so many other wonderful people I wanted to recognize. But I can sincerely say that every single person we encountered was friendly, respectful, helpful, and genuinely kind. Now I understand why Hyatt Ziva Cancun refers to its guests as "family." It isn't just something they say in their messages or emails--they actually make you feel that way. We weren't treated simply as hotel guests; we were treated like welcomed friends and loved ones. That genuine Mexican hospitality, friendship, and warmth is something I will remember long after the vacation itself. Thank you to the entire Hyatt Ziva Cancun family for giving us one of the best resort experiences we have ever had. You made our stay phenomenal and truly unforgettable. We had an AMAZING vacation, but separating how much fun we had as a group from the resort itself, the resort was just okay for us. CHECK-IN/ROOM: Check-in was mostly smooth, although as UVC members they "upgraded" us from the ocean-view room I specifically chose to ocean front without asking. I care literally not at all about scenic views , so I would've preferred what I booked. The $12 bracelet room keys were convenient WHEN they worked. More than half our group had issues with bracelets/cards needing resets. Our Pyramid room was quiet and comfortable but dated. Our biggest issue was the crib. Despite requesting it before arrival and multiple times after check-in, it took hours. Eventually our concierge discovered it kept being sent to our originally booked room instead of our "upgraded" room. PROPERTY: Convenient layout, nice pools and beautiful water. Generally stroller-friendly, although elevators occasionally wouldn't go to our floor, leaving us carrying a baby AND stroller down stairs. FOOD: Our biggest disappointment--maybe 4/10. My family is full of foodies, and most things weren't bad quality, just bland and under-seasoned. La Bastille and Chevy's were our favorites, with Tradewinds' chimichurri getting an honorable mention. Dinner service was DREADFULLY slow. Two-hour dinners were common even with only 2-3 people. On the positive side, we rarely waited long to be seated, and Carla from Lorenzo's was wonderful helping accommodate our large group. Room service was fine, but dirty trays and half-eaten food constantly sitting in hallways and attracting animals wasn't my favorite. DRINKS: We had some professional drinkers , and overall drinks were good. Ariel and Guillermo at the swim-up bar were fantastic--funny, attentive and personable. They remembered us AND Cooper's little non-alcoholic drink order. Ariel even made us a shot that took literally 10 minutes and it was SO good. CABANA 5: Possibly the BEST decision of the trip. We rented it for six days. It's across from the swim-up bar but far enough away to avoid the crowd. The tanning pad was perfect for Cooper to "walk" through the water and for our floating card table/drinking games. With 16.5 people, the cabana became our home base and genuinely made the trip easier. Immanuel and Angel were our butlers. Immanuel was sweet but sometimes disappeared for long periods. Angel was AMAZING--fast, attentive and so sweet. They brought food/drinks and even grabbed food from the nearby Asian food truck. We had an issue with the included cabana facials and an employee repeatedly trying to determine who could use ours and when. Carlos, a manager, handled it wonderfully once we brought it to his attention, and Hugo was great about working around Cooper's naps. BABY: Traveling with our 8-month-old was easier than expected! Every restaurant had high chairs and usually something soft enough for him. Walkways were mostly stroller-accessible and many were shaded. Staff were SO sweet with him. We brought a sleep pod over his crib for naps, which I highly recommend if your baby needs darkness. SPA: Most of our group used it and everyone enjoyed it. My husband and I did 50-minute massages and the fish pedicure and loved both, plus the spa facilities. CLUB LEVEL: Included through UVC, so of course worth it for us . If paying substantially extra? Probably not. We enjoyed playing pool there at night, upgraded liquor and extra food options, but I personally wouldn't pay a large premium. ENTERTAINMENT: We planned most of our own activities, but played 11 a.m. volleyball religiously and OSCAR IS THE BEST! Hilarious, personable and SO much fun. Anything he was involved with around the pool seemed like a good time. SALES PRESENTATIONS: A few non-members were offered Leisure Cash for what they were told was approximately a 50-minute presentation. FOUR HOURS LATER, they were still there. If you attend one, do NOT make plans based on the quoted time. That huge difference left a bad taste in our mouths. WOULD WE RETURN? Honestly, probably not. That doesn't mean we had a bad vacation--we had an AMAZING time. But that had more to do with our group, the memories and some wonderful staff than the resort itself. There wasn't one catastrophic problem; it was an accumulation of dated areas, key/elevator issues, mediocre food, slow dinners, the crib mix-up and sales experience. For roughly the same price--or sometimes a little more--I think other resorts offer more, are newer/better maintained and have better food. Hyatt Ziva Cancun isn't a bad resort, and I can see why some families love it. It just wasn't the right resort for us to want to return to.

And what used to be "the world's largest telephone booth" would dominate ANY hotel in the USA. The people are overly friendly as long as you are not doing shady things. And with billboards offering services directly to your room and a hospital system where you only go if you're sick. The "grey area" is a pretty loose term. The entire hotel is illuminated with L.E.D.'s. The space is immaculate. It was 1/4 mile from the room to the lobby. The ballrooms and convention spaces are like a stadium. (Indoors or outdoors). The public bus arrives every (2) minutes and are often full. It is approximately .50 US to go 30 miles downtown. Just looking at the creative ideas a child could write a book . "This ain't Tijuana". The malls and beaches are protected by federal soldiers and the streets have checkpoints every mile. They obtain your information and destination. If something is off a militia is on alert. In NOLA people go missing all the time. They get discovered weeks later. Would never happen in Mexico . A drunk guy might get out the box, but it is very controlled. These citizens are: smart, efficient, implemented, hard working, drive excellent, fast, diligent, and gracious. It's like walking through a museum. Being from a popular tourist town known for food, this place is VERY advanced. Instead of lounging and hiding these citizens WORK to pass the time. If you need anything just ask a bartender. Every single person that works at this property is out of this world! Kind, helpful and always going above and beyond to make things memorable! There's always a little bit of construction because they're renovating, so plan accordingly by calling with them to make sure the areas you want open, are open. The new speakeasy is super cute. We visited there one evening and have the best time and service! This isn't the same restaurant where you go to breakfast but at night is a Spanish tapas restaurant. Everything was fantastic but all the food on the property is really great! We especially loved to order lunch by the pool. All the cocktails are fantastic, even poolside! Rooms are standard JW with some of them recently updated with the others on their way to being updated. Yes, there is a sort of a musty smell in the air, but that's in most hotels. It's a very hard to keep those highly humid rooms from smelling a little musty. You just have to get over it and enjoy the time outside the room. Pools are super cute and the beach area is nice. There is an adult pool that is open during the day but wish it was open later! Lots of places in walking distance if you decide to venture out of the property but why would you need to! Easy drive from the airport and to the downtown or for departure to Isla Mujeres. We did not go to the island this time but last time we booked everything through the hotel and they made it super easy.

I have nothing but good things to say about this place for a all inclusive, ADULTS ONLY resort. The resort it self was clean, modern and flawless. The service and people working there was top notch, everyone made us feel like royalty. The food was so good, obviously some spots weren't perfect but 90% of the time we LOVED what we ate. Was full inclusive so we ate a ton and drank a lot! The pools were beautiful and lots of options having 4. From Tuesday to Thursday it was so easy to get a spot at the pool or beach, would show up at 11am and find a two chairs and umbrella no problem. Friday/Saturday it was a bit harder since it's the weekend so the pool area was packed by 1pm but went to the beach and again found two spots with umbrella no problem. Beach was solid for hotel zone, this area of Cancun is known for having bad seaweed but the resort did its best to keep it cleaned up. Was able to get in the water some days and not see the seaweed everywhere. We did a preferred booking so got room on a higher floor, exclusive quick check in, access to roof top pool and restaurant. So if you don't care about those things just do a regular room but the upstairs pool was incredible. This place is definitely a relaxing resort, not a ton to do at night but that's what we wanted for our honeymoon. Pool can be somewhat lively during the day with music, and performances but at night it's just casual bars, restaurants and what not. Everything dies down before 12. Did a spa day too and it was great, had a couples massage, full body scrub, and hydrotherapy circuit for two that costs $398. I recommend booking it when you arrive as they may have deals. It was a great experience overall, we would for sure come back 100%!!! Every single worker there was so nice and helpful. Did not have a single bad experience with anyone that worked there.

Guys please save your money and book your stay somewhere else . Worse resort I been to in my life…read morehorrible food horrible service . From the beginning we got here room was dirty we had to complain and get them to clean . The people who say this is a good resort clearly have not been to a good resort . At least go to one of the riu resorts. Secrets is not it. Food is horrible . Burned steaks . We had to leave the resort go to a restaurant to eat something good. Also on the beaches you get harassed every second to buy an excursion . Worse resort I been to in my life. Also my wife was pregnant we waited 25 mins to be seated and then the guy manager "Luis" in the steakhouse says I can't go in because I'm not wearing long pants. Great I understand and respect policy but why did you not tell me 25 mins ago when I came and checked in made my pregnant wife wait all that time to be denied. I will never return to this resort I will make sure none of my friends or anyone I know stay here take your money elsewhere . Also whatever you do if you do end up in this forsaken resort DO Not upgrade to preferred club the Infiniti pool is stupiddd and the alcohol is same as the other bars they just try to sell you on expensive alcochol by the bottle. They be like 4500 ... but in pesos .. in dollar 280 or something ... ripofff Anyone putting positive review for this resort clearly has not been to a decent resort and they do not know any better!

The staff was very friendly and tried to help with our request. The room was a junior suite with an ocean view. It was comfortable and our room attendant did a great job. The king bed was two beds pushed together, but with some magic by the wife we made it more like one and were very comfortable. You can get a single king bed in some of the rooms. We were there with friends and didn't want be separated so we stayed with that configuration. I would try and get a room on the west wing. It actually looks to the east and you don't get the extreme heat in the late afternoon that the east wing does. We ate at all of the restaurants and our favs were the Black and White Steak house and Krystal. The Italian restaurant off of the lobby was good for a quick slice of pizza at lunch time. The buffet is like it is on a cruise ship and was good for most of our breakfast seatings. After a few days gets a little old. The staff was super friendly and hard workers. There is a 24 hour refreshment spot, but the food is only so so. Just for a quick sandwich or fruit. They do have a beer tap and a few selections of liquor available there for self service as well. The pool and beach area had plenty of chairs and umbrellas. If you don't see any available just ask and they will make it happen if possible. My complaint about the pool would be they close at 7:00. One small pool stay open until 8:00. Way too early for an adult only. I suggest if you want to do excursions to go straight across the street to one of the stands. If you know what you want to do they are a much better deal, but be certain you know where you want to go. make sure and get transportation included in your excursion. Also in that area there is the Bamboo Spa. You can get a massage for less than half at the resort spa. They did a very good job and were very professional. Not a "happy endings" type of place. Tell them you will do the massage if they throw in the fish foot treatment. Sounds weird but it was pretty nice. This is all inclusive for food and drink. The drinks are pretty light and when you ask for something other than the house liquor I'm pretty sure it didn't happen all the time. The best is to ask for the drink with a shot on the side, or better yet go to the bar yourself and watch them make the drink. It was definitely better and i was assured to get the name brand. Over all I would recommend this RIU.
