Cannot beat the price for the room. But, it is quite a ways from the tourists areas. $300 pesos (approx $25us) taxi ride to La Isla Shopping Center. Complimentary breakfast consists of fruit, bread and sliced meat. Because we stayed here one night to wait for others in our party to arrive in Cancun, it was not a big deal. Nearby restaurants consist of a Subway and Burger King.

I reserved this hotel for 1 night since it was fairly close to the airport and I needed to leave early the following day. Upon check in the clerk was nowhere to be found, and not only did he not activate the room key but the room that he gave me was not ready. I tried calling the front desk 4 times from the room (#314) to have them see the condition it was given to me. Nobody answered so I walked back to the front desk and asked for a new room. This time they gave me a room on the 2nd flood (#201). Again the room key was not activated and when I went to see the clerk again I had to wait 5 minutes.! And the rooftop bar was out of service. Never again will I be staying in this hotel or any of their branches.

Roof top bar. Was not open when I was there in October to my disappointment. They did sell beer in the restaurant.

The parking situation is horrid. The parking garage is extremely tight and very difficult to get out of.

The spa was fantastic, offering step-by-step guidance through the dry sauna, steam room, and both warm and cool pools-such a relaxing and rejuvenating experience. The hotel sits right on the beach with breathtaking views and features several pools, including one with a fun swim-up bar. Dining options were excellent, with several restaurants to choose from, including Mediterranean, Mexican, buffet, Asian, sushi, steakhouse, and American cuisine. Our room was fantastic, with a rainfall shower, comfortable beds, prompt housekeeping, 24-hour room service, and turn-down service. We also enjoyed live entertainment and a night club on the property, yet it remained wonderfully quiet when we wanted to relax. We loved the aromatherapy --it was such a thoughtful touch. The location is very convenient: close to a pharmacy, just across the street from a shopping mall with a mix of upscale and casual dining and shops, and only 10-15 minutes from Cancun's vibrant club zone. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.

This is not a party resort. When we were there, there was a karaoke night and a DJ in one of their lounges, but it was never crowded and the events ended early or people just left early. The 1st room we stayed in was HORRIBLE! We couldn't sleep. There was a loud rumbling sound coming from the huge air conditioning units right outside balcony. Ear plugs did not help. We talked to 3 other people also complaining about the noise from their rooms also. We were so thankful to Eileen/Aileen at the front desk for moving us. She let us view 3 rooms that were available. We went from a partial ocean view room with a king bed on the 2nd floor to a garden view (actually just the alley with trees) with 2 queen beds on the 1st floor. There was no noise whatsoever! Yaaaay! The person booking excursions could be more friendly. He seemed uninterested and looked bored. Whenever we saw him speaking to other guests, he really looked bored or tired. ONE STAR for the spa. We arrived 15 minutes early for a couples massage. My husband was led to the men's side and I was taken to the women's side. The young lady leading the way, paused at the locker room but led me directly to the quiet room. I was fully dressed and had all my belongings with me. Everyone else was in robes. Why wasn't I given a locker to store my things and a robe to change into??? I was so upset and felt so out of place. When my husband met me in the quiet room he was as confused as I was as to why I was still fully dressed. We were led to the massage room and I asked AGAIN about changing into a robe and storing my things. One of the masseuses said I didn't need to. WTF? So I undressed and piled my clothes onto an ottoman. I could not relax. The music was too loud and inappropriate. Why are you playing music with someone singing loudly? When it was over, it took me a while to calm down. We paid for shit service?! We came back and spoke to Jessica at the desk. She was also confused and concerned about the whole lock and robe ordeal. She offered a discounted spa treatment the next day but we were leaving. I wouldn't have taken it anyway. Overall, the staff was AMAZING! Please recognize them! They worked really hard to make our stay enjoyable. Get to know the staff and tip them well. Thank you to Jose at Egos who made sure our hands always had a drink in them; Carlos at Varenna for the house special cocktails; Miguel who took care of us while we relaxed on the beachside cabana. He was so attentive, personable and funny. Alejandro at the poolside bar made us laugh, Israel at Azur for the honest feedback when we had questions about the dinner menu, and Cesar at Hidden Garden who helped us figure out what was what in the darkness of the dining area. One that note, why is it so dark at Hidden Garden during the dinner service? We had to use the flashlights on our phones to read the menu and see our food. Fernando at the Siete breakfast buffet was awesome! We watched him smoothly take care of so many tables. We never felt neglected despite all the tables and people he was tending to. Lulu (Lou Lou?) is AMAZING, FUNNY and ENTERTAINING! We were lost the 1st night we arrived. He stopped what he was doing to personally escorted us to Azur in the darkness, around all the pools. We ran into him several times during our stay. He always made sure we were ok and having a good time. His energy is unmatched! Thank you to Omar, from the Concierge desk. He welcomed us when we arrived and gave us so much information about the resort. It seemed like he works everywhere. We saw him at different places in the resort. Maryam from the Concierge Desk! She was an angel. She really listened to all of our concerns. She was so friendly and funny. Even when our stay was over and we were waiting for our ride, she offered drinks and food to take with us to the airport. She definitely put a smile back on my face.

Food was surprisingly better than I expected. I stay at the Sunrise, which is the middle (Nizu more budget and Grand is the high end). It was perfect, there were plenty of activities for the little ones and nice shows for the adults. The restaurants consist of several all you can eat and several sit down restaurants. The nicer sit down restaurants, you'll want to reserve in advance and bring some nice cloths. I spent several mornings going to their gym, the coach is super friendly. I took some of their fitness class - kickboxing and physical fitness. The coach does their best to cater towards your physical fitness. I was lucky one morning to be the only person there, so I got a one on one experience, love it! I would definitely go back in the future. Short drive from the airport as well. You should download their app since it gives you all of their information and restaurants, reservations times, etc. Just watch out when you check in and check out, there's some sales folks who will try to hustle you. Just say no thank you. Spend time at the place first, and unless you know you're coming back for sure, just say no thank you.

Unfortunately, the entire experience was extremely disappointing. We spent almost an entire day attending presentations and listening to staff explain the promotion and membership. Instead of enjoying our vacation, we lost valuable vacation time. In the end, it felt like the promotion was designed to get us into a long sales presentation, and we left feeling completely misled. The most upsetting part was how my husband was treated. The staff repeatedly asked him if he spoke English and whether he understood what they were saying. Because he does not speak English, we were told we did not qualify for the $400 cash promotion. It was embarrassing, uncomfortable, and made us feel like we were being judged because of the language we speak. If speaking English is a requirement for this promotion, it should be clearly disclosed before guests book their stay or before they spend hours attending a presentation. This would save people from wasting their vacation time and avoid unnecessary frustration. Another disappointment was the lack of activities for older children. At both Nizuc and Sunrise, there was very little for kids around 9 years old to do outside of the swimming pools. If your children enjoy activities beyond swimming, they may become bored. We came to Moon Palace expecting a relaxing family vacation, but instead we spent hours in a sales presentation and left feeling frustrated, disappointed, and misled. Based on our experience, we will not be returning to Moon Palace. I also cannot recommend this resort to friends or family. I hope Moon Palace becomes more transparent about its promotions and treats all international guests with equal respect, regardless of the language they speak.

They were kind, attentive, and genuinely made our stay more enjoyable. Without them, this would have been a one-star review. The resort lures you in with the promise of an all-inclusive vacation, but the reality was incredibly disappointing. The food was some of the most unappetizing I've ever seen at a resort. Very little looked fresh or appetizing, and dining quickly became something we dreaded rather than enjoyed. The property itself is very dated. The rooms, common areas, and grounds all show significant wear, and many areas felt dirty or in need of repair. We even had cockroaches in our room. Air conditioning was either weak or nonexistent in many parts of the resort, making it uncomfortable to escape the heat. One thing they don't make clear when booking is that there are different resort access levels based on your wristband color. We had blue bracelets, while guests with black bracelets had access to noticeably nicer amenities and areas. It leaves standard guests feeling like second-class visitors. Cleanliness was another major issue. Guests frequently left trash around the property, and we were disturbed to learn on our last day that reusable cups were being rinsed in a brown sanitizing solution before being handed back out. If you stay here, bring your own insulated cup. My husband and I both came home sick with bad colds, and while I can't say what caused it, seeing the cup sanitation process certainly didn't inspire confidence. Another disappointment was the atmosphere. All of the pool bars closed by 6:00 p.m., and by around 11:00 p.m. the resort felt completely dead. Aside from the spring break crowd, there wasn't much energy or entertainment. Overall, this resort feels like it's surviving on its spring break reputation rather than investing in the guest experience. Between the poor food, outdated facilities, cleanliness concerns, uncomfortable rooms, and confusing tiered access system, I would never recommend Grand Oasis Cancún. Save your money and book elsewhere

Grand Oasis Cancun was the worst all-inclusive resort experience we've ever had…read more We booked this resort for our sons' senior graduation trip based on advertising that promoted it as a fun, energetic party resort. The reality was the exact opposite. Check-in took over an hour because staff claimed they couldn't find our Expedia reservation. Another person in our group had already paid for services through the resort's website but was repeatedly asked for additional payment. Our group spent an extra $1,000 on upgrades hoping to improve the experience. It didn't. The rooms were small, outdated, dirty, and not worth the extra cost. The food was terrible. We expected mixed quality based on reviews, but much of it was barely edible. Making dinner reservations felt intentionally difficult, and once we finally secured them, we were forced to sign agreements acknowledging additional fees if we were late. The biggest disappointment was the complete lack of atmosphere. There was very little music, almost no nightlife, and most activities shut down before 11 PM. We ended up leaving the resort almost every night so the boys could find entertainment elsewhere. What frustrates me most is how misleading the marketing is compared to the actual experience. After more than 15 years of booking travel through Expedia, I'm genuinely disappointed that Expedia continues to partner with and promote a resort that feels built around false advertising, upselling, and disappointing guests. We trusted the Expedia brand, and this resort fell far short of the experience it promised. Save your money and book somewhere else.

Next to a mall, walking distance. A lot of shopping, plus a small food hall. Has a 7-Eleven near food hall as well. And a instagram hot spot Hello Kitty Cafe. 4. Not far from airport, can provide free shuttle. 5. Price is not too bad. About 70-80 some dollars. Negative: 1. Very difficult to book the free shuttle, lack of a way to communicate efficiently. Suggest getting their WhatsApp in advance. Also, even after successfully booking the transportation, it was late for quite a bit. We stood in hot outside for over an hour (we arrived a bit early as well so it was a long wait). 2. Along the property line there are trashy areas full of construction trash and other garbage. Not a good look. 3. Lack of English fluency in front desk staff. 4. Even worse, lack of knowledge to honor Marriott's elite membership benefits. We were supposed to get free upgrades when available and they had zero clue of the rules and told us they could go read the rules for 40minutes and get back to us after we tried to explain for 15 minutes. Gave up. 5. The maintenance staff has no respect of guests' sleep time. We unfortunately got out in a room across the maintenance supply room. And from 9pm til midnight it was like war zone. At first I thought maybe there was a drunk guest who was smashing bottles, TVs, mirrors and windows nearby. It literally sounded like the worst anger attack I could imagine. Shattering , clanking, banging, stomping... I did not have any guts to open the door and look. Just in case it was dangerous. Overall the negatives outweigh the positives, and probably won't ever come back.

As my first hotel in Mexico, it was a pleasant introduction to the city--friendly English-speaking staff who did their best to accommodate a confused and jet-lagged first-time visitor. I arrived on a Sunday in late September, with my travel plans in chaos and a non-existent reservation. Lucky for me, the hotel was nearly empty, and they gave me a room for about $125--definitely the kind of budget-friendly surprise you only get when you're half-lost in a new city. It's a simple place, a small, family-friendly hotel that serves up the essentials without fuss. Breakfast? A straightforward Mexican affair: eggs, Vienna sausage, onions, and, curiously, Kellogg's cereal that somehow tastes better than back home. Maybe it's the air, maybe it's the sugar, but there's definitely something about it. But the real win here was the gym and the pool, which were unexpectedly solid--like they took their limited resources and turned them into something surprisingly enjoyable. Throw in free shuttle service to the airport, and this place becomes a hard-to-beat layover option. But let's talk about what makes this place stand out a bit more--there's a Starbucks inside. Yes, in the middle of a budget-friendly hotel in Cancun, you'll find a Starbucks. Only, if you're American and hoping to flex your Starbucks Rewards points, you're out of luck. On the upside, the baked goods here? Not what you'd expect. It turns out the Starbucks is serving up Costco muffins--yes, those double chocolate chunk and blueberry ones that are bulked up at Costco but now make an appearance in a licensed Starbucks. I mean, who knew that would be the most delightful surprise? Now, just outside the hotel, there's a shopping outlet that transforms the City Express Plus into something of an entertainment hub. If you're looking for more than just a place to crash, this is where you'll find it. The outlet features a Hello Kitty café (yes, really), a movie theater, and a mini-Dave & Buster's-style area where you can eat, drink, and play. There's something nostalgic yet modern about this place, where you can grab a bite, play pool, and end your day on a lighthearted note. If you're planning to wrap up your time in Cancun with one last hurrah before heading home, this outlet area is your final stop. It's a perfect spot for a family to hang out, have fun, and get the most out of that last day in Mexico. Whether you're spending the day shopping, playing arcade games, or just enjoying the odd charm of a Hello Kitty-themed café, this is the place to be. And if you need a quiet escape after the chaos of the day? Your room is waiting--comfortable, quiet, and ready for you to recharge. For the price and the experience, the City Express Plus Hotel nails it. It's not a luxury stay, but it's far from lacking. Whether you're passing through for a quick night or hanging around for a couple of days, this spot does exactly what it promises--without overpromising. If I could do it all again, I'd do it with a bit more time to explore that wacky outlet and maybe, just maybe, try one of those Costco muffins again.
