I had a one night stay at the hotel. It was a very comfortable stay. Good reception with amazing hospitality. Got me checked in my room within 3 minutes literally. Easy wifi setup and good fast internet. The lobby was very warm and welcoming. It was decorated with Christmas decorations and had a sweet scent every where. I had one king bed. Very clean spacious and tardy room. Clean bathrooms. The only thing that was disappointing was the shower was not strong. It was as if the shower is going all over the place except on myself. There was not complimentary breakfast as well, that was disappointing. I forgot my toothpaste, so called downstairs to ask one. Within minutes I had someone bring me travel size Colgate toothpaste. Clean, friendly, courteous, and hands down the best hotel around the area.

Very nice hotel. Stayed one night as my family was relocation. This hotel was clean and provided all needed amenities for our stay. I only wish they had two bedroom suites. The breakfast was great. Although it's not free the food was worth the low cost. The hotel is located across the street from several stores and restaurants, next to a movie theater, and casino. I would stay again if in the area. read more

A hotel should have two things. A bed to sleep in and a hot shower. I stayed at this hotel several years apart. They use super cheap laundry detergent. If you have any allergies at all, DO NOT STAY HERE. I figured they would have fixed that after several years, but no. I spent 50 nights a year in hotels, so it's not me. It's them. read more

First we had to wait about 20 minutes to check in because nobody was at the front counter. About ten minutes into this wait a lady come out from the back and tells us that the man at the counter is just doing his rounds and will be back in a few. Then when the man finally comes up he smells strongly of marijuana. We finally get into our room and call down to find where the pool is located and the pool is closed for renovations in the middle of July. It was one of the reasons we chose this hotel so to compensate for that they offer us a free bottle of wine. While they are bringing us the wine we find a pizza box and newspaper and other various items left from the previous guests, we show the man who came with the wine and he said that we were already in the nicest room so there was nothing that he could do. So we carry on with our night and go to the movies right next door. We come back and decide to take a shower and there are no shower caps in the room. We call down and they said that we could come to the front to get one. So my husband goes down and gets one. While he is gone I try to adjust the thermostat and it falls off the wall. This was an easy fix as it just snapped back on, and after the night we have had I do not want to deal with it anymore. The next morning we wake up at 9 and go to get breakfast that we paid for when we paid for the room and they said breakfast ends at 8:30 am. And after all the complaints even to Marriot's corporate office they wont do anything to try to make it up to us. Not to mention it was our honeymoon! This hotel's location is VERY convenient in terms of proximity to restaurants and the local casinos. Take into consideration that Carson city is not a very big city, but this Courtyard is literally right across the street from the local eateries and restaurant chains. There's a casino RIGHT NEXT to it. "Casino Fandango". The Steakhouse in the casino is legit. So many options around this Courtyard! read more

Extremely helpful and friendly staff, Clean facility's, bed needs to be replaced... huge sag on most used side. $160 for one night... pretty expensive for not very much...also, made reservation on saturday evening. Got there on check in date the next week and they had no record of my reservation. "Free" wifi... small breakfast/coffee area in main lobby that I did not try. read more

They recently changed the mattresses and pillows in these rooms and they are just awful. No normal size pillows. Just cheap long body pillows. The mattress was bad causing 8 sleepless nights. It's a shame because I use to really like this hotel. The room was clean and the staff was polite, but being uncomfortable and lacking sleep for 8 days kinda trumps the politeness. I'm sorry to say, that I will not be staying here again. read more

This hotel continues to disappoint! Every time I have stayed here, the pillowcases on my bed smelled stale, were stained, and were placed behind a couple of fresh smelling ones...as if I wouldn't notice. The back ones smell of foul breath; so bad it makes me gag to have my face near them. I even got a maid to admit to me that when they are pressed for time, (which they often are) they just "brush the hairs" off the sheets, and make up the dirty sheets in the bed as new, for the new guests! She said, "as long as it gets by". I am lucky I speak Spanish, as all the maids only speak Spanish; otherwise, I wouldn't know this useful tidbit!!! I was floored and appalled by this information; and wasn't sure whether to believe it or not, until she grabbed a second maid to confirm her story with me!!! They told me not to tell, but I'm not giving their names. Secondly, the bathroom floor always feels powdery, gritty, and dirty; and if you remove your sock after walking across it, it will be loaded with gray hair, brown hair, blonde hair...take your pick! Also, the bathtubs are hit and miss. I have a trick where I run my finger firmly across the inside walls of the tub. Sometimes it comes up with oily balled up dirt; sometimes it doesn't. Your finger should slip and slide freely across the smooth, clean surface. If it doesn't, guess what?? The women at the front desk are snooty to say the least. There used to be a manager named Cathy there, that was very hoity-toidy, "I'm better than you", and she had an assistant, Terri, who was the exact same way. I haven't seen either of them in ages. Maybe the Marriott grew a brain and dismissed them. I found those two women a huge turn off!!! I have heard people complain they need to hire maids who actually speak English, instead of illegals...for most people, this makes communication difficult to impossible; and just adds frustration to their stay. The maid told me they are always looking for people because their maids keep getting deported! This hotel isn't the cleanest place, and the staff is moody, and it is definitely overpriced. I just keep staying here because it is close to the places I need to go. But, if I had my choice I'd definitely stay at The Hampton Inn and Suites...now that's a clean, stylish, and gorgeous hotel...I'm not really sure why it doesn't get more credit??? If it were closer, I'd stay there! read more

Decided to spend one night here with my husband and 2 kids (8 and 3) before heading to Lake Tahoe, comfortable, clean and updated rooms, centrally located to restaurants, shops, and a movie theatre. The only downside is that walls are very thin, glad we did not have loud neighbors at night. read more

Great service super comfortable rooms and incredible staff, tremendous housekeeping....very clean and quiet and large! This was our honeymoon hotel for 3 nights in September 2010 (We went to the Virginia City camel races, road the train and more, best ever! ) Plus they Have Fandango, our favorite Casino and my wife has been to all of them in Vegas and Asia, she likes this the best! Spent 2 nights here over Christmas Break. We drove in with 9 kids in tow. It was a great place. Staff very accomodating. The place is close to Walmart, Costco, restaurants, etc. Between 20 to 30 minutes from the ski slopes. I would give it 5 stars if they had more staffing in the restaurant. There was a long wait in the morning because they did not have enough servers and kitchen staff. read more

Our recent stay at this facility was extremely upsetting. When we made our reservations over the phone, a duplicate was made of our card and within 24hours had wiped out our bank account with fraudulent charges. Then we used a different VISA when we arrived at the facility to pay for our room. First off, the room rate was more than we were quoted on the phone, but after we paid and got our receipt upon checkout showing no balance due, our bank account was once again debited with far more than the amount on the receipt showing what we authorized. Can't seem to get any return phone calls from the GM Leslie Goldwater so although the facility was very nice, we have gotten nothing but a run around and a banking fiasco. Sad because we frequent this area often and would have otherwise recommended this facility to others. read more

We stayed 3 nights starting Thursday 7/20. The hotel is recently renovated, is impeccably clean, quiet and comfortable. Our room was spacious, modern and very quiet and comfortable. The Bistro is a great part of this hotel with everything from Starbuck's to food and alcohol. For $118 a night, it was a steal. We would definitely stay there again. read more

I stay in Courtyards constantly, about 100 nights a year. This location was fine; seemed relatively new, everything worked in the room, and the front desk staff was competent and friendly. Indifferent but convenient location, for the area. Was there to hike the east face of the Sierra the next day. View from the room overlooked the casino parking lot but provided some glimpses of the Sierra in the distance. read more

long time regular visitor to this hotel. most recent visit was disapointing, the level of care and quality seems to have nosedived. upon check in, 1 young lady on the desk. she was trying to check in folks, answer the phone, take reservations, etc. way over tasked for 1 person. she did an excellent job, very polite & courteious and eventually worked thru the line. i asked if she was the only one on duty. yep, all by my lonesome. i sensed a recent change in ownership, as the normal marriott quality was not at this hotel this time. the little kiosk may as well not even be there and other issues with the room. i mean the tv remote scotch taped together, one wheel broke on the room chair. being a marriott elite member, i sort of know what to look for and what to expect. I will continue to stay here, but sure has gone downhill. i recommend the reno courtyard about 25 miles to the north. much much better property. read more
