Reminds me of the old route 66 type motels with actual keys for the doors! We had 4 adults in our party and the beds were nice, desk space was ample along with the amenities of microwave (which we didn't use), tv and refrigerator (we used for water). Bathroom is a bit small for 4 adults with little shelf space but for an overnight stay it was adequate. Don't expect the niceties of typical hotels but 3 packets of shampoo and 3 small bars of soap were provided. Towels were also provided. The shower was fine for me (5'2") but short for my 6' husband. However it had plenty of hot water and the entire bathroom was very clean. Check in was easy and the staff was pleasant. I didn't check for ice but there was an ice bucket in the room. Overall this is a pleasant place to stay and if we are in the area again we will definitely stay here.

They need to hire a cleaning company. Dust, cobwebs, dead ladybugs everywhere. Hair in the shower, dirty dishes in the sink, bathroom garbage almost full (when we checked in). Our group has been to dozens of bed and breakfasts and have never had to go through a budget line to eat. That's the beauty of going to a bed and breakfast - being served your food. For dinner she had 2 liters of warm pop on the counter (to serve yourself). We even had to ask for ice. The same 2 liters were there at lunch the next day. The food was mediocre at best. We ordered dinner from the nearby golf course the next day (which was frustrating because we had paid for our meals for the weekend). We'll be taking our business elsewhere!

Small but modern and clean bathrooms. The tables are nice but the chairs, both inside and in the outdoor ceremony area, are hard and uncomfortable. The outdoor wedding area has a pebble main aisle. The wedding party knew so the girls wore flats, but many of the women guests had a hard time with their heels. The area outdoors is sloped downwards toward the pond, so everyone gets a good look at the area where the couple exchange vows. The pond is very pretty, and there is a very small, maybe 1/2 acre, grape vine area. I believe this was planted to justify the winery theme in portions of the venue. The bar area is very basic, not even a sink, so the parties need to use ice tubs and kegs and keep the drinks very simple.

It was all open field and they do have beautiful landscaping and steps going down. When you book this place you get it for the whole weekend. I was the wedding photographer and i was stretched thin walking back and forth and up and down. I will say the steps going upstairs into the reception area which is in the upper level of a barn did not feel very safe. They do have a working elevator for guests that cant do steps but it is extremely slow so it is not something you'd want several people using. It holds 4 people at a time and takes all of 5 minutes. They had another area that you can rent for an additional $3k to have the reception on ground level. You will need outside catering and i would hire/bring someone to maintain the premises during your celebration. Ive been shooting weddings for 10 years and this is the first time ever that i seen the groom empty trashcans during the middle of his wedding reception. The owners were not there and nobody seemed to be there maintaining anything but this seems to be happening more and more. I never seen anyone working other than bartenders and the catering company. The couple that hired me brought a golf cart which I would say you'd absolutely need. It would have been great if the venue provided one but they did not. We were there in early June so it wasn't too hot yet but I imagine Jul Aug Sept are pretty hot in that barns upper level. They had portable ac units but with 170 guests in the upper level of a barn, I will just say that the bride and grooms faces were pretty shiny. It wasn't terrible in June. All in all, it is a beautiful property and you get it for the entire weekend. There is plenty of room for everyone and they will allow a few campers to park on the property as well. I would love to see them just use that lower level but its not my business. It would be so much nicer if they invested in some round tables and had a centrally located space designated for food and a dance floor like a real wedding venue but that is all tucked away in a corner. All of the tables are laid out like a school cafeteria but without gaps between them and barely any space. You can see in the photos. If the venue sets it all up, I would absolutely suggest that you specify that you would like space between the tables so people can get in and out of their seats and a central location for the dancing. Im honestly not sure who sets everything up though. It was a very unique experience. If that lower level would have been included and someone maintained the premises, I would give it 5 stars all day because it really is a beautiful and secluded location. For the upstairs of a really old barn, I am struggling to give 4 stars but I have no reason not to. Im just glad i was there in June!

The wedding party stayed in the house which I believe is an option you can choose. The area is kind of in the middle of nowhere (20 minutes from Jackson and 45 from Ann Arbor) so I'd imagine that was helpful. The stairs leading up to the 2nd floor of the barn from the 1st floor are pretty narrow - I was luckily wearing flats but I can't imagine navigating it in heels. IIt is with a heavy heart that I share, that after some 40 years of membership in this club, my…read morefamily are denied membership. You see, the club never communicated to my elderly parents that there was a banking issue with a dues payment, even though the gate attendants continued communicating that the dues were paid, allowing us entrance for several months before we became aware there was a problem. In my repeated attempts to pay the dues owed (handing them a credit card on the very day we became aware of the problem), I was referred to the board, but, at the same time, was told the board doesn't like talking to members (odd, given its a member owned club). The acting managers wouldn't accept payment, and refused to provide me any specific names of board members, their email addresses or contact numbers. Seemingly, there is no due process or recourse to resolve simple payment issues. Emails to the general mailbox have been ignored. I can't help but wonder why an elected / volunteer board wouldn't have a process to communicate payment issues. No emails. No snail-mail. No text. Your just out. Had I known the day Kim (one of the acting managers) made us aware of the issue, that it would be our last day at the club, I would have been more thoughtful about saying goodbye to that special place. For others who may be reading this, who also have fallen victim to the same fate at the hands of an incompetent board, with no regard for the members they claim to represent (especially the elderly ones)...I hope you have more luck that we have. I have a feeling the club has many financial issues and have seen publications online, indicating that This organization's exempt status was automatically revoked by the IRS for failure to file a Form 990, 990-EZ, 990-N, or 990-PF for 3 consecutive years. Is further investigation and due diligence are warranted and is this organization even registered with the IRS? I will be making a call to them to find out. Hopefully, the members will do better with future boards...
