I was visiting friends and they brought me here for dinner. They like this place because they said they can always get seated here and never have to wait. And kids can play in the arcade that's located inside the restaurant while the adults talk. I can see why families like this place. The restaurant has a laid back vibe and is very spacious inside. I enjoyed the wooden tables and the overall decor of this lodge. There are also TVs around if you want to watch sports. I did not enjoy my food and I am usually pretty easy to please. It took me a while to find something because they were out of my first two orders, as well as the cocktail I wanted. I finally ordered the Hunt Club Salad with steak. I was asked how I wanted my steak cooked and I requested medium rare. What I was given was very overdone, tough, and inedible. I also assumed that they had their own salad dressing so I wasn't expecting it to arrive in little to-go containers, made by another company. One of my friends had the Spring Salad with chicken and thought it was just okay. She liked her Buffalo chicken rolls. My other friend loves the chicken chili and that is her regular order so I should have tried that. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. I would not come here again but my friends are regulars, so I must be missing something. The service was friendly, which is always a positive. The last time this is what the Ruben looked like, it was so ridiculous I pulled it apart and took a picture, no sauce, no sauerkraut and two tiny pieces of corned beef. We Had dinner at the Hunt Club last evening, July 12, 2025. The food was good, Chrissy , our server, was wonderful. The hostess was so incredibly rude to our group. I had called the evening before to alert them that we would be arriving around 6:00 -to 6:15 the following evening with a party of 12-14. The first in our party to arrived at 6:00 and we were all there by 6:15Pm. I had told them that . I knew they didn't take reservations, my call was just to let them know a large party would be coming, and when. The hostess proceeded to seat others who came after. before she seated the first 4 in our party. We were all there by 6:15PM. We didn't get Menus until 6: 45 Pm . they were presented with the excuse that she didn't realize we didn't have menus which was hard to believe since she had walked by our table at least 5-6 times. It's the second time I've been to The Hunt Club, I was very pleased this time also. They have a nice menu, full bar and an Arcade Room. The 1st time I was here, I had one of the best burgers ever. This time, my brother had the chicken salad plate and I had the Dagwood sandwich. Both times I had to take half my meal home. Our server, Nikki, was a delight. Desserts, don't get me started on dessert, well, ok here it is, there's a woman there who makes the desserts, yes I said MAKES as in homemade desserts. Hi hopes and very disappointed. After we found out that Hunt Club had new owners (West Texas BBQ), revamped menu items, and yuengling beer on tap we were very excited to give the restaurant another go. When we arrived we were greeted with smiling faces and seated right away. We ordered drinks and put in an appetizer order of chips with cheese and salsa. After our server brought our drinks we put in our dinner order. We ordered the dagwood sandwich and the fried shrimp dinner. The atmosphere was nice and it was great to see that business was picking up for them. There was also a large party coming in that ended up being a high school reunion. After about 20 minutes our server finally brought out our chips and salsa and apologized for the delay. Then about 45 minutes after the chips were brought to the table we still did not have our food and we were finished with our drinks. Our waitress was no where in sight. We had to ask another staff member to cash us out because we had to go. Then as we were walking out we had seen that the server we had was also working the large reunion party. Unfortunately I can't review the food because we never got it after waiting for over an hour for a sandwich and fried shrimp. The sever was super nice for the short time we interacted. The reason why I am posting this bad review is so management hopefully improves their process. Customers should not have to wait over an hour for food and you shouldn't overwork your wait staff. I've been going to hunt club ever since I was in grade school. It's kind of a Jackson staple and still looks the same inside. It's great for families because they have an arcade too. Lots of local draft beers on tap, various wines and cocktails. Our go to is the Dagwood, and it is more than big enough to split. The Wiley potatoes are always good as well. They know they tried to pull some shady stuff after they was caught tying to take my money. The Hunt Club is typically packed on weekends but I never understand why. I have been to this restaurant 3 times with an open mind with each visit. Every time we were treated as if we are an inconvenience. You get the feeling that if you aren't a regular that the staff knows then they won't even try to give good service. Once seated each time it took forever to receive our drink order. Mind you our drink order was average drinks (water/iced tea) not liquor or alcohol. The food took forever to come to us. My chicken was so dry I had to keep taking drinks in order to eat it (I am not a person to send food back). Our french fries were overdone and other food items were super greasy. I get that it's mostly bar food but it was way greasier and way overpriced than it should have been. Our waitress completely disappeared with our last visit. No idea where she went. We wanted our check and had to ask another waitress for it. There are plenty of other restaurants that deserve and want your business in Jackson. Believe me - pick a different restaurant! You are guaranteed better service and way better food than you will ever get at The Hunt Club. We will never return! read more

If I could give less stars I would. The service is the worst in Jackson by a long shot. We were seated quickly but we were practically forgotten about. It took ages to get our drinks. Our food was terrible and overpriced. The wait staff in general was incredibly rude and dismissive. We have a 1 year old daughter and they placed us right where they get a ton of traffic for moving food to tables (there were a ton of other tables open). We couldn't even let our daughter sit in her chair because one of the waitresses nearly spilled a tray of food on her! Oh and let's not forget the recent tirade of racism and bigotry from their management to a paying customer of a different ethnicity. Disgusting. Came today 1/2/2022 with a large group for lunch and arrived at 11:05 and they were closed. Business hours posted on the website said they opened at 11, so be cautious if you make plans to come here close to opening hours. Ordered over the phone. Asked for a black bean burger. Confirmed on the phone at least twice it was a black bean burger. Picked up the food and it was a regular meat burger. At least I got my money back quickly but it is unacceptable and risky to mishandle different orders between meat and vegetarian. Also, of the 3 employees I interacted with only one was wearing a mask and none of the other employees in the restaurant were wearing masks during my long waits to be served and to be refunded. 9/15/15 I've been a long-time customer of the Hunt club. I remember when it was an old location just across the parking lot and the move to the new location. I was always a huge fan of the chips and cheese and chicken fingers and nacho cheese. A large handful of years ago they changed their nacho cheese two cheddar cheese, as customers were complaining that the nacho cheese was too spicy. Needless to say that the love of the nacho cheese meal dissipated. I recently had the chips and cheese while watching the football game and it has not improved. The cheese was thin and tasted like cheddar cheese with a mix of Tabasco sauce. While it was edible it was definitely not a typical nacho cheese. Also it had about twice the amount of chips for my cheese container and I only did one vertical dip per chip. On a positive note the waitstaff at the game bar was great. And the Buffalo chicken roles were fantastic. Also a huge fan of the steak bites as well. I still like this location for drinks and watching games. The atmosphere is comfy but not super loud like other locations. 12/21/16 I do like this place and have continued to support this restaurant for years, but for the love of all that is cheese...your cheese needs help. The waxy, cheddar cheese has got to go. It doesn't have flavor and in fact concession stand cheese is better than this quite honestly. Please change it back to the Gordon's Nacho cheese that you used to have a good handful of years ago. If people complain of it being too spicy then maybe have another cheese option for them, but changing the cheese to something that isn't pleasing to customers is defeating the purpose of good customer service. Not by a long shot, but I've never gone out of my way to come here either. I found myself here on this occasion, just wanting to grab a decent lunch. I ordered the Mustang Melt, which was delivered within an acceptable time frame. I should have told them to hold the grease! Was this thing ever greasy... and VERY overcooked. When the server asked, I ordered it medium. What I received was VERY WELL done, to the point of being so mealy and crumbly, the only thing holding it together was the grease. The fries were pretty good though. Everything else seemed ok. Hunt Club seemed a little pricey for what I got, and the quality was underwhelming. The Hunt Club's menu is filled with bar-type foods, and other entrees too. They got us water right away but by the time the waitress came back she seemed so pressured for time she just wanted us to order food. Didn't even ask if we wanted any drinks to start. My how the mighty have fallen. I can remember that the hunt club was the place to eat as an upper middle class family. My uncle used to tell me that this is where the best food in jackson was served. Well he was a fool and also very very silly. This place has changed so much to the point that it feels like it's not really the hunt club. More like a facsimile of the former hunt club. The food is ok, not bad but not great either and the service is well let's just say not what most people expect when they dine out. The extra fees that are added to your bill are no joke to help the restaurant adjust to inflation but yet they also raised prices more than 30 percent. Eh? But not to be mean or slight the staff, they then ask for a tip for your wait staff. Good food and service. This Hunt Club in Jackson has a neat interior that feels like a cabin with a large fireplace in the center. They also have a game room for the kids, or drinking adults. Kind of dark, but nice. The menu has not changed a lot over the years, so they still have many of my favorites. I like the Wiley Potato which is a large over-stuffed potato with ground beef, mushrooms, onion, and cheese. I also like going there for lunch because they have good daily specials. Ordered there fish dinners last night and this was not the same fish they used 3 months ago. Fish was like frozen fish you would buy in the store. Not there big deep fried like before. Also dinner came with fries and coleslaw. Some of the fries tasted like they were rotten potatoes and the coleslaw was soggy and not crunchy as before. I've been here a couple of times based on recommendations of friends and I found the food and service to be very "below the hype". Even when I went with the friends that recommend it they said "yeah this isn't very good"! Food is nothing special and the potato skins my husband got were borderline gross.
