This hotel does not deserve the Marriott name. I was bait and switched on the pricing. Quoted one price as all inclusive only to find out not true. I had a work trip in Norwich and decided to stay at the Oneonta courtyard. Its conveniently located right off the highway right up the hill from a BJs and several restaurants. The rooms are clean and well appointed. I would not hesitate to stay here again. There's a courtyard bistro on site where one can purchase breakfast etc. One morning I ordered the bistro egg sandwich and I don't think that I'd order it again. The scrambled eggs and bacon on it were very good but the handful of dressed arugula was a little off putting. The bottom of the bun was super soggy and it really could not be picked up to eat. read more

I have been a loyal Marriott Bonvoy customer for many many years and use them for business and business trips also and I have to say that their quality and services have gone immensely downhill in the past two years. Upon my recent stay, that was an overnight due to some business I had to take care of in Oneonta. I have to say that ultimately this is probably my last stay with Marriott. The Marriott has become increasingly overpriced with less features available. When I arrived, I was questioning about my service dog, which is fine. I'm actually glad that they questioned me because I am a service trainer and evaluator so I can understand the questioning but waiting to see if they had any of the supplies such as toothbrushes and toothpaste you know that should be readily available for the clientele and was given excuses that because of the upgrade to the hotel, they did not have that available. I would think that for almost $200 a day you should have necessities for your customers in case it gets forgotten. The guests in the other rooms made noise constantly all night long and there is no longer complementary breakfast either. I actually had the pleasure of staying at the Hilton across the road from them two weeks ago for the first time. I stayed there with my mom since she wanted to come along for the business trip I had to take care of. The place was absolutely beautiful smelled so fresh and clean great service great staff complementary breakfast just truly five stars and the Marriott is in no comparison even equal to their standards. If you would like a really great place to go for the same amount of money, I would absolutely recommend Milton over and above the Marriott on any day. read more

This is the most unreasonable hotel I've ever spoken to. Marriott should be embarrassed that they are using the brand name. Our flight to Oneota was cancelled after waiting at the airport until 11:30 pm. We immediately called the hotel and cancelled the reservation. Despite the flight being cancelled and out of our control, the hotel charged us $340. We are titanium bonvoy members and the GM Vinny Marconi told me status doesn't matter because they are a franchise. Marriott should be disappointed that Titanium members are treated this way. Usually we'd rent a house in the area but as our plans weren't final until a few days before we had no choice but to book a hotel room. Which was fine since our boy was staying at grandma's who lives around here. Sadly we didn't get to check out the indoor pool which was a huge reason for picking this place, on top of seeming like the best place to stay. I love technology these days we were able to check in and hang at my mom's until our room was ready. Then we could just use the app to get into our room which was great because we brought our boy to see the hotel and he has no patience lol. This was our first hotel stay in awhile since as I said we usually rent houses now that we have a toddler (not fun being couped up in a small room) we had a nice suite here and despite me hating the decor lol, seriously come on grey up the place! I mean it wasn't outdated it was just very yellow/brown for my taste. Grey walls and some teal couches would be awesome. It was nice having a short trip alone and exploring the area. The hotel is pretty new and everything seems very updated. The staff while we were there extremely friendly and helpful. My GPS would not identify the address for this location. When I called the hotel I was told this was an issue and they gave me the McDonald's address as an alternate. Unfortunately, they gave me the address to a Toyota dealership located about 7 miles from the hotel. :( The rooms are clean and spacious. We had issues with the pool and hot tub. The pool was over chlorinated and the hot tub jets didn't work. The hot tub control panel on the wall had a open hole where I guess a switch of some sort used to be. The fitness center was small, but the equipment worked fine. One of the minor flaws of the hotel was trying to maintain consistent water temperature, water pressure was not an issue, but water temperature varied and fluctuated as you showered. The free WiFi was also an issue, it was unstable and my phone kept dropping the signal. The "Bistro" as they called it, located in the lobby offered breakfast and lunch items but were on the pricier side. There are several restaurant's in the area you can visit, McDonald's being one of them. Since the hotel is up on a hill, I imagine it could get precarious in the winter months. There are no reflectors or lightning on the hill leading you to the hotel. So you need to be careful driving up/down in the evening. The hotel is perfectly located, not a far drive to Cooperstown, if you're planning on visiting the National baseball hall of fame and museum. The susquehanna river is right in your backyard. Many things to explore and enjoy in this area. The hotel offers a relaxing break after a long adventurous day. read more

This place is disappointing because it has a ton of potential. This review is so low mainly because of the customer service that was experience time and time again at "The Bistro," their dining area, if you could call it that. I'll get the negatives out of the way first as they will take up the majority of my allotted characters. The stay here was for a little over a month. Checked out of the hotel every Friday morning and checked back in on Sunday nights. The hotel was aware that the stay was going to be for over a month and we were told a room would be available each week, a junior suite with a king size bed to be specific. On several occasions, Sunday check ins were less than smooth. Two weekends ago, I came to the hotel to check back in, we were familiar faces around here at this point. The woman at the front desk said she had no reservation for us at all, which was shocking considering on Friday, arrangements were made to check back in. This was extremely frustrating and took an entire hour out my day to sit at the front desk and wait for her to find an available room. Then, the business card that was on file and used for each stay in the past, was suddenly unable to be used. Eventually we got into a room and they were apologetic, but the same exact problem happened the following week. They were overbooked and did not have room for us, even though a room was supposed to be available at all times due to the long-term stay. We were so fed up at this point, we packed all of our belongings up and went to another hotel. It's evident they don't treat their frequent stayers well, because this never should have happened once, let alone 3-4 times. Now the issues with the Bistro. Overpriced, extremely low quality food, which is what I expected from a Marriott hotel, "restaurant." By the way, this is not a restaurant, it's a stand with subpar food at best. It's edible, but it's certainly not good. The caesar salad had 5 times the normal amount of dressing on it, the asian chicken salad had rubbery fatty chicken, not one peanut, which the menu stated it had and the chili lime vinaigrette got a fork dip to try it out before dumping it on my salad and I am very thankful because it was pretty awful, tasted like liquid sugar. Their spicy chicken flatbread is one of the most unappetizing things I've seen. You get the point, you're paying a pretty penny for food that kind of sucks. I could get over it if the customer service was friendly but I had bad experience after bad experience with one girl that was unbelievably unprofessional. We happened to be stuck at the hotel during the snowstorm in March. I was at the Bistro counter having a conversation with my boyfriend about what to order. The two of us were having a conversation about how we should go to Hannaford and get some snacks for later. The young girl at the cash register chimes in loudly and goes, "UMMM WE ARE IN A STATE OF EMERGENCY SO EVERYTHING IS CLOSED!!" First off, we weren't talking to you. Second off, Hannaford was open, as were most if not all of the businesses in the area as it was the second day of the storm and stores were re-opening. Other guests looked at me mortified as to how rude this girl was being to me. I almost lost it. I just smiled and bit my tongue. We placed our food order and after ordering asked if she could take one of the entrees and split it onto a separate check because it was going to be paid for with a business card. She freaked out on us. She through a fit at the register, said she could not do that because she already put it in the computer. Eyes rolled, hands on hip, pouting. Being that we had been at the Bistro multiple times and completed this transaction successfully with all of the other employees, we questioned her refusal. She proceeded to say, "Well I would have to walk all the way over to the front desk and ask my manager to do it." HA. Well considering the front desk was approximately 40 feet from her, I had no sympathy. She got her manager and the problem was immediately fixed. This girl was clearly irritated she was on her second shift, snowed in to the hotel (oh how horrible) and was taking her frustrations out on us, something you never do in customer service. She made our stay less than enjoyable and every morning I came to get coffee from her it was uncomfortable. You felt like an inconvenience in this place every time you asked for something. The rooms were nice and spacious, but the sink did not drain. One hand wash and you had a full sink of water. The beds were the most uncomfortable I've ever slept in, I would compare it to sleeping on a coffee table with a sheet, hard and flat. The pool had construction going on so you couldn't use that. The gym had one elliptical, a bike and two treadmills with a bench and some weights. Small space, but I made it work. They had a stand with clean towels, disposable headphones and sanitizing wipe tub that remained empty throughout our entire stay. Potential, but eek. read more

Disappointed in this hotel, I've been Marriott loyal for almost 10 years so I've seen it all. We were stuck in traffic and I got an email asking if l was still showing up... So I had to call them to make sure my room would still be there. There were half drank (cheap) liquor bottles in the cabinet, half finished wine and a jar of olives in the fridge. There's nothing worse than being reminded that someone else was partying hard in the area/bed that you're sleeping in...... yuck. The iron had burnt crusties on the bottom so we called for another one, but they brought a new one up very quickly. Everything else was fine.. I stayed here for two nights for a friend's wedding. I've stayed at other Marriotts before and have gotten standard service but the employees at this particular one were really great which deserves praise. Check-in was seamless - literally less than five minutes. My room was ready and they gave me my choice of floors. The room was what one would expect to find in a Courtyard Marriott, clean but nothing too remarkable. The front-desk staff were friendly and helpful. I had breakfast twice at The Bistro (the Marriott's food court-ish area). The morning I was leaving I met some friends who also went to the wedding for breakfast. The staff was very busy but they remained professional and got the food out in a timely manner. I work in retail so I can relate to the stress they were under; kudos to them for keeping their cool! I really enjoyed my stay - the amenities were what you would expect but the staff made this place a standout. ***Oh one more thing - my GPS couldn't find this place (it's only been open ~2 years so if your GPS is older than that you might run into the same problem). If you can sleep while staying in this hotel than your a champ. I stayed here for one night in the middle of the winter, thinking that the hotel would be empty but somehow both rooms next door and upstairs were occupied by the noisiest people. The walls are super thin, you can hear everything. To the left, you can hear the person next door snoring away. To the right, you hear kids fighting over toys, and upstairs you hear banging as if someone is jumping on and off the beds repeatedly. I slept maybe two hours. I usually stay at the super 8 when I come to Oneonta to see my family but I wanted to try the newest hotel in the area. I definitely won't be returning. read more

We spent three lovely nights in the Oneonta Courtyard by Marriott Hotel in April 2015. Lovely, you ask? Why lovely? Well, we'd just come from a funeral in Pennsylvania and were in the Oneonta area visiting other relatives prior to returning home to the west coast. We were exhausted from the experience, and our kids were. . . well, being kids. They were loud. They were rambunctious. They were sort of crazy. So, due to the good graces of our local relatives, we were able to arrange for a "vacation" for them while the two of us checked in at the Courtyard for a few nights. What did we do, you ask? We slept. We hung out in the Jacuzzi in our room. We slept some more. We went out for dinner. We slept some more. We used the workout room in the hotel. We slept some more. You get the point. Did we miss our children during the time we were there? Sure we did (and we DID see them daily, so don't go calling CPS on us). But, we were able to turn the our stay in Oneonta into something of a restorative experience in the process. As for the hotel itself: Nice, large room with a great Jacuzzi tub (they only have a few of these rooms, so don't be disappointed if yours doesn't have one if you don't ask for it). Good bathroom, with all of the amenities one needs. Good heat and air conditioning. The pool is small, but we were glad they had one nonetheless. The lobby / restaurant / bar / gathering area is quite nice. We saw a group of about 15 nicely dressed people utilizing it one night for what looked to be a fun gathering. We ate breakfast there one morning and it was good. Not necessarily great, but definitely good. Oh, and they serve Starbucks coffee, which is a nice touch for Oneonta. Probably our only complaint about the experience is that they don't offer a AAA rate for the Jacuzzi room. They do for the standard rooms, but apparently feel that they need to do so for those looking to partake of the Jacuzzi option. We've stayed in a few hotels in the Oneonta area over the years, and this was most definitely our favorite. We'll be back. Note that this is a Yelp 5 star review for a hotel in Oneonta. In another city, this would likely be a 3 or 4 star hotel. But, the options are limited in Oneonta, and this place is definitely the best you're going to find in the "city." read more

Well I'm going to leave this unrated if I can, because I didn't actually stay there. But the service at the bistro with the two women there yesterday was so astonishingly bad, I had to "Yelp" about it... I was visiting a couple of guests and wanted to get a bite. I stood there with a friend else at the counter, chatting away for 10 minutes while the two women prepared a reuben. At some point one of them bothered to acknowledge me, and said she'd be "right with me." If "right with me" means another ten minutes, then she told the truth. When I finally got to order, they had run out of what I wanted...naturally. So I went to Wendy's instead. They were literally so close I could have touched them, and I repeatedly leaned over to order. I've never been so rudely treated or ignored at a restaurant...I'm still wondering if it was some Food Network prank with hidden cameras set up so that one of those manager types could come in and fix the place. If that's the kind of service found in the rest of the hotel, I'd go to the Hampton. Looks like I have to rate it, so I'll give it two stars. read more

A pretty new gem in the Oneonta crown. My last stay here was at the run down holiday inn so this spot was a pleasant surprise!! Small bistro cafe near the front desk is the perfect spot for a pre night out drink and appetizers with friends (or alone :)). If you don't see the beer you want in the bistro cooler look in the "traditional" courtyard marketplace area for. Yummy Ommegang it other craft selection. Rooms are large and clean with a large comfortable bed and great flat screen (or should I say the now "to be expected" amenities) Only one issue for me. The gym is small but pretty new equipment so not a total loss. Small pool as well. Add bonus is the super friendly waitstaff and location close to downtown. read more

One of the only hotels where I actually can reserve adjoining rooms and they will ensure that we get them (most tell you they can't guarantee this). Planning a trip to central New York SUNY Oneonta I booked this hotel and upon arrival was completely surprised by its interior. A beautiful, clean, and modern look with a wonderful front desk staff. I had done a check in from my phone and the paperwork and my room keys were ready and waiting for me. It's a smoke free facility and my room truly had a great smell - it did not have that stale smoke smell to it. Also the hotel has a quiet time from 11:00 pm - 7:00 am Spacious first floor room with two queen beds, and a bathroom with very nice shower. This is located a mile from Main Street and offers a lovely restaurant that serves breakfast through dinner. read more

Very nice new hotel. The king bed in our spacious room was very comfortable. There are good breakfast items for purchase and even wine amongst other grocery options available in the lobby. Unfortunately our visit was tainted by a few issues. 1) The hotel is so new that their address is not recognized on map applications. The secondary address provided on the mobile site to enter in your GPS is not even close to the location. 2) The hotel was woefully understaffed. I had to call 3 times to even get someone to pick up to help with directions. There isn't even a tape that picks up to provide information. 3) The one staff member in the whole hotel (!!) when we were checking in was so new she was completely flustered. She couldn't even get our keys made. Hopefully they will work their kinks out before we return again as it's a really nice option in Oneonta. read more

The staff had extremely good attention to detail and even remembered the guests names when they came in and out. Just checked out after a one week stay in the Cooperstown area for a baseball tournament. The hotel itself was excellent and conveniently located to our tournament (All Star Village) with easy access to restaurants, stores you may need if visiting, and to the town of Oneonta as well. Great service and reliable!!! Even though it's new and fresh hotel, I had a problem with a cigarette smell and A/C not working. But after I contact the front desk they apologized, and took full responsibility for that. Her is what they did: 1. Put the room out of service, till it will be corrected to their standards. 2. Upgraded us in a nicer and bigger room which is called a suite for same price. ---- My take away: Problems could always happen, but how we deal with it is what makes us outstanding, and they accomplish that in a 100% ratio! We had a very nice two-night stay here, and the staff are very friendly. They were especially friendly when my sister locked herself out of her room through a connecting room and the bolt was on. They have a cafe with good coffee, snacks and drinks. My only complaint is, like many hotels, the walls are thin and we could hear our neighbor's entire conversation in the morning. We had a business meeting in the meeting room and pre-ordered sandwiches from the Bistro. I can't speak to the quality of the food because they don't offer a vegetarian option, at all. Even the Caesar salad is not veg. My room was clean but had a slight stale odor that was unpleasant. Not worth complaining about though. What I DO want to mention is the excellent service we received from the Bistro employee, Angie, who helped us throughout the evening with our meal and drinks. Angie remembered and called each of us by name. She really went above and beyond in making sure our needs were met. I hope this Marriott knows what a gem they have in Angie. Stayed here for 3 nights while visiting the Baseball Hall of Fame which is an easy 25 minute ride. Hotel is brand new. Nice place with free Wi-Fi (there was a connection issue which the front desk quickly resolved), small but decent workout room and a small pool and hot tub (only one jet was working). Small hotel restaurant open for breakfast (closes at 10 am - should be open to at least 11 am for late risers on vacation). Room was large and clean. It is located just off of I-88 and up a hill behind a McDonalds. Our room had a nice view of hills and college. Staff was very attentive and friendly. read more

New hotel so the decor is nice, and everything is clean. Downside of this hotel is that it's a little loud. Can hear every noise in the hallway from bed, and can hear many toilets flushing in the morning... breakfast is tasty but is not really for "on the go", recommend sitting to eat breakfast. No lotion or q-tips in the bathroom with the toiletries, just shampoo/conditioner and bar soap. Staff is very nice and accommodating. This is written from the perspective of a coach and parent attending the Cooperstown Allstar Village Tournament: Superb customer service, very clean rooms, 7 mins away max from the Allstar Village. There is a open air style restaurant in the lobby, the food is realky very tasty but it is super basic stuff. Get the flatbread pizzas. A lot of the items are premade and reheated so dont expect Bobby Flay cuisine but one you see the tiny town options and it taste so good you will be a fan. Walmart, McDonald's, and Dicks sporting goods are all 3 mins away down the street. After a long day of games or before an early one or if you need waters or febreeze spray for the team this is Super handy location...remember it is only for Allstar Villahe not Dreams park that is 25 mins away. The pool is tiny and inside not really a feature that you go there for. They have a self run mini market for Gatorade or cereal and snacks, it's small but covers what you need quickly. They have a laundry on site. It really is the go too place for family to stay at the tournament and for kids and coaches to come and shower as the facilities at the tournament are horrid. In short book this place dont think twice, this is the one. read more

I prefer hotels with self-serve coffee available in the morning, as the line was a little long. But the Starbucks brew was great. I loved the ambiance of the fire pit and couches in the backyard.
