AllStar Village is one crazy and amazing experience for kids and their families who enjoy playing baseball. For the naysayers on here that worry about the money (yes, it does cost money) but if you worry about that then don't worry about coming here, no offense. If you go to hotel, they charge you for wi-fi at some places, lol. Once you are past the money part, the whole baseball experience is about the kids learning to bond with their teammates. It about the kids getting a chance to play with other teams from across the globe (we have played boys from Philly, Jersey, Cali)! There are life lessons for the boys here too. Learning to live on their own, learning to overcome adversity if things do not go their way or if the food is not exactly to their liking. Then the boys get to go to Cooperstown, NY and the Baseball Hall of Fame! Now, that place is SPECIAL. It may bring a grown man whom loves baseball to tears and a kid to joy to see their favorite player's picture or home-run ball. If your team gets a chance, grab it, and forget the money and grab the memories for you never know when something "may be the last". Player/Coaches Food: I stayed in the bunks with the team so to de-bunk some of the concerns from the parents' reviews of wait times and food quality. The first night was the only night for any waiting for food. All other times, I never had to wait for food. I would walk right up and start going through the lines. They serve food 6am-9/10pm (not sure what time they closed every night). I thought that since they were feeding over 1,000 people everyday that the food was not bad. However, the parents were getting stories from the picky kids that the food was gross lol. Some days it was better than others but overall it kept us fed, with a mix of proteins, carbs and veggies. Safety/Medical: Top Notch and respond quick. We had a few medical events for players and a parent and every-time, the medical staff was there within minutes. They were all super friendly and took excellent care of our team. Barracks/Bathroom/Showers: This was a tough job for the staff since the kids are lawless without their parents around. If they escape coaches eye for a minute they are doing dumb things. So, the bathrooms are messy and the bunks smell like locker rooms at times but no one really cares when you are on site since you are there playing baseball. The staff cleans it up every day but literally within minutes, it is wrecked again. So, go into the barracks with the mindset that it is like camping. It is not the Taj Mahal and don't expect a Grand Hyatt service. However, I did wake up in the middle of baseball heaven everyday and loved every minute we got to share it with the team. For when we got to look out on the diamonds with the rolling hills in the background, nothing else really matters. Enjoy!! read more

While I appreciate that this is for the boys to play baseball and have a great experience, overall the experience is not good. It is poorly organized where the management wants everyone to convene for three hours before they let you on property. There is trash sitting around with tons of bees, there is no shade and the lines for the bathrooms, without paper products, is long because they only have four stalls for about 500 people. There is no food except for milkshakes and ice cream and the parking situation is a nightmare. We had to walk over half a mile with all of our stuff because there was only one shuttle running with a lot of people vying for a seat. For the amount of times they do this each week, you would think the management would be better organized. I am really hoping that the first few hours of this experience is not indicative of the rest of the week. Here is hoping for something better. read more

If you have a kid, friend, relative on a 12u travel ball team, I would highly suggest you have them come here for the week and a half. Although tiring, it was so much fun. Fun opening ceremony for the fans, guaranteed six games and then single elimination tournament, and then fireworks at the end of the tournament. They have nice turf and grass fields and stands and covered seating for fans. Shorter fences so kids are hitting bombs all week. Kids stay in the bunkhouses in the players village with coaches, and security is pretty tight about when they can come and go and where they can go. People without authorization also cannot enter, so I think parents can feel a little more comfortable knowing their kids will be ok. Weather is very unpredictable from sweltering humid heat to thunderstorms, so bring sunblock, bug spray, and umbrellas and/or ponchos and rain gear. You will do a lot of walking and it is really hilly, but they do have trollies pulled by tractors and golf carts that can transport you if you're too tired to walk. Make sure you plan ahead as parking fills up fast. There should be some extra parking up on the upper lot, but you will have to walk pretty far or wait for the trolley. Kids had a blast playing ball, trading pins, and just hanging out with their teammates and other players from all across the country. My nephew also said the food they served in the dining hall was actually pretty good. There is also a hotel you can stay at on the site, but I think most people stay at Airbnb's or hotels just a few miles from the complex. We stayed at one about 1.5 miles away, and you're able to walk there, but again, check the weather before you take off. Not much else to do in Oneonta, but you can drive down to Cooperstown and go to the hall of fame. Again, pretty tiring experience if you're flying into Albany international airport as I don't think there are many direct flights so you will be waiting at several airports. The drive from Albany to the village is also about 1.5 hours, but it is a really pretty and scenic drive all around the area. I had a great time and I think most kids would agree it's a memory that they will always remember. read more

This place isn't bad. I'm here right now because my sister has a baseball tournament and it was hyped up a ton because her team is in California, where we live, and Cooperstown is obviously in NY. Anyways, the experience has been kinda underwhelming. Don't get me wrong, the complex is awesome and it's fun to see everyone get out there, play and have fun. But we were expecting some vip, amazing experience because of the hype and it hasn't been that. It hasn't been bad, but the hotel on site is a below average hotel, with below average rooms but one thing I will say is the bed is awesome. So comfy, I'm writing this review from that bed right now. Anyway, the food is also quite good and the restaurant on site, the clubhouse, is great. Love all the food, and specifically the sweet potato fries are absolutely excellent, not sure what their secret is for those. The fields themselves are also pretty good, nothing special, but they're nice. And the complex is awesome. Lots of fields, there's an information booth, a snack shack, a medical tent and anything else you could ever possibly need. The tournament is run well, it was lots of fun. However, they feed these athletes and coaches horribly. No fresh vegetables, very few fruits. The umpires were just ok, and sometimes very rude. They are not great at trash pick up as the field for opening ceremony was trashed. They have a beautiful creek running through the park, but it is littered with trash and tons of baseballs. My hope is that they clean better after the 15 weeks. It made me sad to see ball after ball being hit into beautiful wilderness. read more

This is a great experience for the boys! Although there were many boys on the opposing teams that were very disrespectful towards our team! As were some of the coaches and parents from the opposing teams. I think the All Star park should impose fines for players and parents that are disrespectful! We are here for the experience and to have fun! I also think cameras or security should be installed! Also the restaurant really should do something about the wait time when ordering. Specially when there are players waiting for food so they could get ready to play their next game. One time we waited 2 hours and this last time we waited 1.5 hours so the boys didn't even get to eat!!! More staffing needs to be employed or the kitchen needs to be made bigger! They know there are lots of people going to visit so why not invest in making this place better! It's not cheap to be here I think All stars really need to accommodate the players! This is ridiculous that as much money as this park is making they surely are not investing into it for the players! What else can I say other than this was the trip of a lifetime that left nothing but smiles on our faces and core memories for our family! All Star Village is a baseball heaven! We had such a great time, the venue was breath takingly spectacular, and the amenities were top notch! We ate at the clubhouse multiple times and had a few beverages at the upper deck, and let me tell you, that view cannot be beat! We even found ourselves going there when we didn't have games, just to hang out with everyone and catch the atmosphere. Day 1 started out with a bang, the skills competition was so much fun to watch. The team spirit competition was an absolute blast (even if our squad should have been finalists lol). All of the service staff were great, our daughter got to know one of the waitresses, Sophia. She was so awesome in taking the time to talk to the kids and trade pins with them. As for gameplay, some of the best I've seen. The umpires were pretty consistent, personable, and overall did a great job. Staff in general were helpful. My boy loved the shakes (and so did I), even coming to the field on our bye day to grab one before heading up to Cooperstown for the day. Which speaking of, it's only about 20-30 minutes to get to the museum, so that's a plus. The field conditions were excellent, we played on both turf and grass. Well maintained grounds. Like I said, this is the disneyland of baseball. The hills are plentiful, but there are more than enough shuttles to get you around. I actually enjoyed walking the hills, it balanced out all of the food I ate on vacation We drove by Dreams park. It looked nice, but it also had a Fairgrounds feel it. All Stae Village really felt like a destination. We couldn't ask for a better trip, and I wish I had another kid coming up through the ranks just to do this all over again. The photo package was a nice touch, other than the 1000's of photos I took, we got around 300 professional quality pictures as well. Closing ceremonies felt like something out of the Sandlot. We watched the Championship game under the lights (from Babes Bar of course), the watched a spectacular fireworks show. We figured the fireworks would be cheesy and cheap. We were utterly shocked at how great they were. My boy had a great time, made some friends, traded some pins, but most importantly made some great memories and bonded with his teammates. Prices were pretty reasonable. We took a vacation the week prior, so I was happy with the prices and selection. The logistics were easy, parking was well thought out, and communication was great, especially communicating weather delays, field changes, etc. I had no complaints, only positive things to say. I really appreciate and respect that they honor military and first responsers during opening ceremonies. Class act! We were there week 2 of 2024 with BBT 12U BLK, didn't win the Ship, but got to the round of 4 and the boys played their hearts out. They represented our program well. read more

When the team mom suggested Cooperstown, I was against it. In my head, all I saw were dollar signs and time. However, seeing the excitement on my son's face when we looked down onto the playing fields made it all worth it. Watching the team come together and bond like they never have was priceless. I was informed by waiter Nick C that I would receive a refund / Credit for the Vegan Beggie Bowl but then informed he didn't know how to do that and would need to ask the restaurant manager and call me back to go get the restaurant credit...He never called. A MUST DO YOUR 12U SUMMER!!! It's more than just a baseball tournament, it's memories for life. As a coach of a team that attended CASV, this is exactly what youth baseball is about. Being able to have the team stay in the bunkhouse for an entire week, eat meals together, play baseball at all hours of the day together, meet people from around the world, trade pins, play whiffle ball, etc... this is what it's about. Our program has continuously come back and each years team and kids have a different experience of loving baseball even more. There are teams of all levels each week who come to compete. Some teams are rightfully better than others but even the teams that go 0-7 have the time of their lives. Pin trading is a HIT! It begins the second the kids show up to campus and doesn't ever end. The HOF trip is a chance to share history and visit your favorite ball players, the kids will want to go back. Playing at all hours of the day is due to the weather and the packed schedule. You will play at 8am and you most likely will have a late night game, possibly early morning depending on the day. The players are fine! They run off adrenaline. Yes, coaches should have a lights out period to get them to bed but the kids go so hard during the day that they sleep like a log. Prepare yourself for long days! The schedule is ever changing due to games running into extras, weather delays, etc... it will be ok and the kids are ok. It's part of the fun! Buy the team photo package! Totally worth it! The Glossy Finish photographers capture some amazing photos and their ability to edit onsite to create the team panorama photo. I also suggest the team bedding package so you travel with less items. Pre purchasing the team photo package as well as the tournament t-shirts makes things easier. Don't be texting your children all week long. If you need to get a hold of them, call their coach in case of an emergency, but let the kids be kids! They are meeting new friends, watching other games, and playing whiffle ball... let them be. Having phones brings the suggestion of lights out time so the kids aren't up all night on social media. Allow them to have phones for photos but they really aren't on them a lot since they're so busy. Parents, please teach your children respect! Going into other bunks is not ok, but with no ability to lock the bunks it does happen when kids are unsupervised or sneak off from their team, so let's hold the kids to a higher standard and teach them how to do right. Most coaches and kids are good about this but there may be that one who feels the need to explore into other bunks. Pack LESS!!!! Pack the essential baseball gear, baseball uniform (minus the jersey top), and two outfits... the kids usually wear the same couple shirts or jerseys throughout the week. Have some room in bags to take stuff home as you will leave with more gear than you came with. Prepare for the hills!!! Parents, let the coaches coach and the players play. Support everyone! My son had a great time here! As far as the facilities go, the bunks were large, clean, and hand decent beds. My son said he didn't have any issues sleeping and the bed was comfortable. As far as the food goes, he said it was fine. He didn't have any issues with it. Said it wasn't great, but wasn't bad either. As others have stated, the fields are pretty short. This makes for some extremely BORING baseball to watch. It's HR's or singles, that's it. Unless you hit a shot to the corners or there is a fielding mistake, even the fastest kids struggle to pull of doubles. With that being said, this is helpful for teams that come from rural areas that are pretty much bringing standard Little League teams. They already struggle enough against the D1 and D2 teams, so this gives them a shot. As far as the umps go, they were on par with what I see all the time. As someone that is newer to the travel ball circuit, this felt pretty much in line with what I have seen at tournaments. The one thing I would recommend for CASV is to add a "losers" bracket. Some teams are done early on the 4th day of games. This leaves almost 2 full days where the kids don't get to play even though everyone is already there. I saw a lot of families leaving early because they had nothing else to do. From the parent's side of things, it was pretty hit or miss. I only ate at the tavern one time and the burger was decent. It wasn't amazing, but the price was fine. The one major negative for the tavern is that they don't give out water. You have to pay for water unless you get it from the tap. Maybe I am spoiled being from California, but this is insane! As far as the fields go, the parent's dugouts are awful as others have stated. The viewing angles are sharp and half of the dugout can't see the hitter. You can move to get a better angle, but the space is very limited and you can't sit. I understand that they have these to keep the parents away from the umps, but it doesn't stop them from yelling at the umps from the dugout. When we went, they did remove a panel behind home plate, but it's very small and gets instantly occupied. Where this becomes fun is for the score keeper. Each team is required to keep a paper scorebook and submit it after the game. The players don't have on deck circles and are required to stand between their dugout and the parent's dugout to warm up. The coaches are also required to stay here when on defense. This means the only end where the scorebook keeper can see is blocked the majority of the game. Good luck if you are one! They seriously need to invest in a viewing area for this. I would say my biggest issue with this place is the drinking. Specifically, by coaches and by umpires. There was an umpire in the bar drinking and talking about how fed up he was with the parents, and then he umped our game that night...You can imagine how bad his strike zone and calls were. The parents, oddly enough, seemed more under control at the bar. They did get wasted, but I didn't see any arguments or anyone starting fights due to alcohol. It seemed more like they were just having a good time on vacation! Overall, my only real markdown was due to the dugouts. Everything else was great! read more

Outstanding tournament experience, without a doubt. We were there week 8, 2024 and the kids loved it. Well run, well organized, and well-staffed. Other than one prima donna umpire and another umpire who just didn't want to be there, the experience was wonderful. The bunkhouses for the teams have air conditioning, which is extremely important in the middle of summer. There were a few days where it was exceptionally hot and humid. Having the kids be able to go back and rest in a cool bunkhouse is a huge plus. My grandson had a friend on a team that choose to play at the Dreams Park Tournament about 20 miles away and reported those bunkhouses do not have AC. Ugh! The condition of the fields range from good to exceptional. Parents can choose to watch the game from the outfield fan dugouts or through the backstop to the side of the plate. Note: if you're by the backstop, be aware of foul balls from other fields nearby. Also, there are a few fields you can watch the game from the outfield areas as well. A couple of suggestions to enhance your enjoyment: 1) Subscribe to the live stream. For $99 you get access to the live stream for 30 days. You can create clips and then download them to have forever. Imagine looking back at your players homerun, the pitching the game ending strikeout, or great play. I've created a number of clips to look back on. Also, since you have access for 30 days, if you happen to have friends who are participating in the tournament on a different week, you can watch their games live as well. We attended week 8 and have friends about to start in week 11, so can enjoy their games as well. Since it is a 30-day subscription, wait until you arrive to subscribe. 2) Purchase the Glossy Finish Team Action Photo Package. Great HD stills of your player. Note: You receive a lot of pictures (we received over 1,100) as the photographers would rapid fire the camera on every play. It's a bit tedious to go through to find the gems, but they are there and can be saved as well. Finally, be prepared to walk a lot. There are 12 fields and all of them are below the parking areas. The paths to and from the upper areas to the fields are fairly long and steep. There are a number of golf carts cruising around to give rides up & down, which was a Blessing on the hot days. By the way, you can take a small ice chest with your own drinks while watching the games. Overall, a wonderful experience that can be looked back on by the players as a fabulous time. So happy our organization chose Cooperstown All Star Village as the tournament to attend this summer. read more

I was here week 1, and from past reviews a LOT has been upgraded and changed. The overall experience has been fantastic for both me and my son. I stayed on property so observed a lot throughout the day during down time. It's been organized since we arrived with player check in, bunk move-in (despite the hills). I am grateful for the AC because the days have been HOT and kids can go back to a cool bunkhouse to rest/sleep. The baseball operations for games have been smooth, play could continue even on a day that rained because half the fields are turf. The staff has been consistency happy, kind, gracious and willing to be helpful. Grounds are very well maintained, the hills make the experience so pretty and you can easily watch games on 6 fields from the upper deck (with drink, meal). On-field parent seating is covered stadium seating but a group of parents also sat on picnic tables behind home plate. I didn't carry any cushion seating with me and was fine, but people rented or brought cushions. Food has been consistently great, and the restaurant/bar/outdoor overlook has been busy all week. The Clubhouse restaurant has been renovated inside and games on all 12 fields are streamed inside. Outside, the Dugout & Overlook encourages parents & kids to enjoy the scenery or watch other games. Despite losing, kids seem happy on championship night, playing wiffle ball and having a great time. We went to the baseball HOF and spent time in Cooperstown, I would highly recommend CASV for any 12u team with parents who want a first class experience. read more

Its all about the experience. The food for the kids sucks..... and thats ok, going in u should know this. U can have them suck it up some nights and eat it. Will teach them to appreciate, good food at home. Other nights u can order from 23 pizza who delivery, undercover eggplant, or heck buffalo wild wings isnt to far either. And the tavern on premises has some good food too. The bar is fun & accommodating, great outdoor space overlooking fields. The hills you will never forget. I'll start by saying my son had a great time. Rated the trip 9 out of 10, however, as a parent we saw a very different side. Some umps clearly favor teams and make blatant bad calls. The fields are insanely short... which means home-runs are plentiful and so is the $15/ball charge to have those balls engraved. Everything is overpriced (as if the fee wasn't bad enough). Theft is high in the bunks and many coaches can be found drinking to excess in the tavern. read more

Sorry for the length of this review. I hope it helps. This is from the point of view from a mom (of 3) who traveled alone with her 12 yr old for this. I'll start with positive. Our team had a good time and they made memories for years to come. But that is because we had a group of kids who genuinely liked each-other/great coaches. Fields are good condition even with rainy weather. Thank goodness for the golf carts helping parents and grandparents get up those hills. The best part is they stream the games for those at home to watch! Those are the only positives. Negatives for the boys. Food was terrible. I'd say half the team was picky but even then they should provide better food for the kids. My kid had no problem eating, but didn't like it either. The showers, I hear were gross and barely any water coming out. Toilets/restrooms were dirty. Beds were not comfortable, could have been tolerable if they weren't planks vs solid piece under mattress. The negatives coming I understand are a bunch of "small things" that snowball for me. Snack bar food is gross. Almost every umpire is terrible with their strike zone. They are mostly consistently terrible at least. Literally heard 2 blues say on 2 different occasions "The kid needed a break" bc we were about to mercy a team. WTH? Not your job to give the kid a break. We all paid a lot of money for it to be fun but fair. So what's the point of having score boards and not keeping score on them? Not one game did the score board work. Oh wait...it did for one and never had the correct score or inning on it. The parents dug out is mostly terrible. Only good part is it's covered and it has bleachers. Other than that, you will get neck pain. You're better off trying to screen record the live stream. Unless you are lucky to get a field that you are able to sit in the outfield, the view is amazing and you can see the crazy strike zone from there. You're not allowed to take pictures with your own camera. We as a team ended up splitting the cost of the photos to get ALL from the whole week. Came out to about $95 a player. They are out there taking pictures. But gouging prices for individual photos. It's been A month since we purchased the photos and STILL have not gotten them and said it will be a FEW more weeks. Tbh, if I knew I wasn't getting the pictures within 2 wks, I would not have purchased them. DO NOT STAY AT THEIR "OFF-SITE" motel. I stayed at the lodge that was "7miles away" it was less and actually good location. Right next to Taco Bell, or the Southside Diner which is I guess considered the "Southside Lodge" motel. It's was in general clean, but stuck in the 90's, tv included which I knew based on the phone photos provided on the villages booking site. I paid (non-refundable) half months before and received a payment confirmation email, with what was due upon arrival and the address of the motel. No directions on what to do day of. When I dropped my son off, I went to their "hotel check in" table and she made it seem like the hotel was around the corner and gave me no other info except for resending the "confirmation" email. I show up to this hotel. There is NO front office or sign to say where to check in, happen to see a room door open, I thought it was a guest, I felt bad to bother. Turned out being the Manager, Ginger, who was surprised I was checking in early (at 130p) so she took me to a storage/laundry room with a fold out table. She pulled out my "reservations paper" that showed more than I was told to pay because they didn't add the taxes when I paid. I didn't have a choice but to pay on a swipe thing added to her phone. i got a text receipt. I was there alone and money was already tight. Ginger (who at the time I did not know was the manager, she made it seem as if someone else was I charge and she was helping, so I felt bad) Gave me the keys and told me which room. It's exactly as expected. I settle in, try to turn on TV, it's unplugged, as well as realizing the wifi was not working. Tv was behind a heavy Armoire, I had to call the Diner to ask who can help me. She gave me the managers number, who ended up being Ginger. I called let her know that the TV is unplugged and WiFi isn't working, and she (who checked me in) said they didn't tell you at check in? The cable and wifi are down. They went down the day before, supposedly. Mind you this was a Saturday on a holiday weekend. Later that day, She said she could change rooms then next day closer to the diner (bc my room was furthest from diner). Owner wasn't going to be in until Tuesday. I check out Friday. It was NEVER fixed. I was never offered to change rooms again. There was only 2 other families staying here. One I believe left the 2nd day. If I had the money I would have left too. If you are going to all star village, find an Airbnb and a family from your team to share it with. 1 star for golf cart option and drivers were always helpful and nice. 1 star for field maintenance read more
