The location is under construction. It was difficult to find the entrance. It's in the middle on the left side, all covered up by wood pieces. There is a walkway to get in though. The front desk is kinda small if you didn't enter from the entrance. You can go to the indoor pool in the hotel next door. When I booked the hotel room it says it comes with breakfast for 2 adults and 2 kids. Somehow the booking only showed 1 adult. The front desk said they would check on it and didn't get back. When I checked again, the front desk gave ridiculous reasons (room cost more for 2 adults 2 child rather than 1 adult!?!?) and said would up charge me if they were to comp the breakfast. They eventually included the said breakfast after long conversations. Breakfast was good tho. Not much option but everything tasted good. The muffin was warm and the breakfast burger has bacon and avocado. read more

This Courtyard by Marriott seems a bit dated but the room we got was decent: clean, functional, and comfortable. It also came with a small refrigerator and microwave. The parking lot is kind of small and not very convenient. We parked in the back and it's kinda far. The stay in this location doesn't include free breakfast as in most other locations. To be honest, I was a little disappointed. First off, we are Platinum Elite status, and no breakfast was included even though that's supposed to be a Platinum benefit. Second, the pool is actually in the Residence Inn next door. This is not explicitly stated on the hotel website. I might have chosen the other hotel for convenience. This hotel is on a busy road and right next to another hotel... The Residents Inn I think. Not sure if the noise situation would have been better but I had a top floor room that was supposed to be quiet that was exceptionally loud all night long. This hotel has no breakfast with it. There is a coffee breakfast bar for $$ in the lobby. The woman who checked me in was great. She was fast and competent. The room was clean and comfortable. It did have a worn feeling to it and as if they had done some recent upgrades. I am sensitive to noise so I would not stay here again. But it is a decent hotel. read more

This was the first hotel on our family road trip where we all actually took baths -- a small but welcome luxury since not every place had tubs. The bathroom was beautiful and clean, which made it especially nice. We used eucalyptus magnesium soaks to recover from the drive, and it felt like the right stop for that. The room overall was clean, and the furniture looked fine except for some stains on the seating chairs. The bed wasn't very comfortable, and the pillows felt random -- three on one bed, four on the other, no consistency. Still, the hotel itself was presentable and functional. Staff were kind and professional, and parking was simple. No mold issues, which I always check for. There was some noise during our stay, though I can't recall if it was this location or another. I stayed here on a work trip. The area around the hotel isn't special, the common areas inside the hotel were okay. The room was nice and roomy but the shower was a bit tight. Parking was easy and the staff was friendly. There were some downsides. The fire alarm went off on my last day. It was very loud and annoying. The biggest issue was the noise. I could hear everything happening in the hallways, there were loud guests which made it hard to relax and sleep. Because of the noise and overall experience, I wouldn't stay here again. read more

This Marriott Courtyard is located close to several shops and good restaurants which is very convenient. The parking lot is a bit limited and crowded on weekends. Service here was very good on all fronts. Management was very caring and helpful. Service alone earns another star. The lobby is very nice with plentiful seating. However there is no complimentary breakfast here but they have a bistro bar as an a la carte type counter service. Breakfast sandwiches were a bit pricey and sandwiches were just ok. The bistro bar only opens at 5 pm at night but it needs a more inviting atmosphere like music, lighting and happy hours for guests. The bar was not very popular here. We opted to go to the liquor store down the street. The rooms here are clean and sufficiently appointed with extras like microwaves and refrigerators. The hotel was a 3 star hotel and fine but with great service to make it a 4 star hotel. read more

The lobby is very small. They don't have enough parking lot. I booked online but when I arrived they said the room was not available. The front desk lady said she would give me the match price if I could cancel my reservation. The room has a strange smell which feels like cigarettes. The bed is very comfortable which is better than the Hilton garden. Hilton Garden has firm beds but this hotel offers soft beds. I like the feather pillows. Parking is an issue. They offer parking tickets. Hilton Garden offers water and coffee in the lobby but here nothing is offered. Probably I will switch to a Hilton credit card next year. read more

Overall, this hotel is as yelp 3-stars says: "OK". Firstly, they are still doing construction on this property. I stayed here last weekend and there were areas blocked off, the wall was half peeled off, and some areas were pretty dusty. My room key card also kept de-activating for some odd reason, and had to go to the front desk twice to get it fixed. This was a bit of an annoyance but I was only here for a weekend. We did bring 2 dogs with us and this hotel allows pets. $100 does seem a bit steep compared to other hotels for a pet fee. However, they were happy and there were more than enough grass areas for the dogs to do their doodies. Irresponsible people though who leave dog poo laying on the grass... Overall, it was an "OK" stay. Nothing special to say. Just wish there was more amenities offered at this place given the construction to attract more guests. There is no free breakfast and it's $12 parking every night (like....why? There's ample space!). The sound deadening was alright at least and the beds were comfy. I would consider staying here again if I were here for a weekend. However, for longer stays, I would much prefer to look elsewhere. Just stayed at this location for a sports tournament in the area. The pullout bed is a twin size, and when I opened it to make it up for my daughter, the previous guest's used bedding was still wadded up inside. The cushion on the pullout was ripped on the edges, and the blackout curtain was floor length which would be fine except that it covered up the AC unit. The hotel is under construction so there are messes everywhere, the parking was vastly reduced due to construction waste and equipment being parked there. They noted that they would waive the $12 parking fee due to the construction, and it's hard to believe they ever charge for self parking in an unprotected lot in Salinas. We tried to order food from the cafe when there were few customers and were told it would take 45 minutes. There were no drawers in the room. Overall, it was a miserable stay. All this for the bargain price of $225 per night plus taxes and fees. read more

Stayed here before and not much to complain about but tonight on trying to enter the room initially the keys wouldn't work went to reception to replace , no apology just a " that's weird " and a "there you go" Second set of keys first got the green light but door wouldn't open , second key on second set worked thankfully And now for the real surprise walked into room every draw was open the sofa bed was half in half out and it's cushion was against the wall, and the cover for the drain in the shower was pulled out and against the wall Rang happy on reception and it was " wow that's weird " after explaining it looked like someone had searched the room looking for something it was " I'll let housekeeping know " ? She did offer to transfer us into another room but not knowing what to scorch we decided to roll the dice and stay here Should say room was spotless and great value for what it cost but bloody hell not a great start lol read more

I stayed here for a work trip. Nothing special about the property. There's a common space in the lobby with an outside area and a fitness area. Also, they serve food in a "restaurant" area like right when you walk into the lobby. It reminds me more of a food court. The woman working the front desk when I checked in, Joanne, was very nice and probably one of the highlights of my one night stay. Room is nice, clean, and spacious but not spectacular. I went to look at the in room coffee selection and picked up a condiments package that was open but positioned to look like it was brand new. They have full bottles of shampoo/conditioner/body wash which is nice compared to the tiny bottles most hotels have. read more

I hate to do this, but I gave many chances to fix it and got nothing but lies. I travel a lot for work and prefer Marriott, but I will not use this place in the future after my last visit. The bathroom tile was cracked and loose. I didn't realize this as I walked in and cut the bottom of my foot. I called the front desk to report the issue in and making sure I'm not responsible for it. It's a nice hotel we arrive and was check in promptly I check in via phone and key card. 1st night was horrible room was south facing towards the street and you can hear cars flying by and doing donuts I known things are out of hotels control but this is for information use only we bed and cleanliness of the room were good 1 of the other beds smell like bad odor. I tried to order some food they ran out of wings. 2nd day during check out the elevator broke sitting on the top floor with a pregnant wife wasn't too happy about the situation, we order some breakfast and ended up getting 3/4 of our order and No cream cheese if I had know I wouldn't have order when it rains it storms. I was nervous about staying here based on the mixed reviews but it was the only place around that allowed pets. Turned out to be a good stay. Only one night stay so we didnt use any facilities or eat here. We got a newly remodeled room. It was quiet at night and we had no issues at all. I would stay here again if I had a pet. Only drawback was its a bit pricey for what it is. No free breakfast like many places, plus they charge $12.00 for parking not sure why, and $100 for a pet so pretty expensive. read more

Our stay was wonderful. We did stay during COVID restrictions, and the hotel does have hand sanitizing stations all over the place, which was really appreciated. The hotel did not seem crowded with guests at all, and the room was very clean (decor and design was really nice too!). Upon checking out of our room we drove away realizing we forgot a cell phone in our room! We called the hotel and headed back; staff was very friendly and helpful and found/returned our phone within minutes. Thank you so much! Oof. I've never started a review like that but this was a bit of a surprise. This is also, my first stay at a hotel since COVID. When I arrived there were people partying outside and on like 5 balconies, screaming, and mind you I arrived late (1am). I told the staff upon check-in who seem disinterested in doing anything about it ( although they were friendly). When I walked down the hall to the elevator, I was greeted with food all over the floor and walls, and an elevator that smelled like a bar at 5am. I was further disoriented when I got to the room, and I saw hair, fingerprints, blood, and other odd colored stains in the bathroom, room etc. While I know cleaning a hotel room sucks, this was next level. I expect cleaning to be improved during covid, not minimized. I was disgusted to say the least, and thankfully, I got home covid-free. I was staying here because I was at Laguna Seca over the weekend, and unable to camp due to a bad hip. Next time, I'll take pain killers and sleep in my car. Speaking of my car.. they have a hard-water sprinkler system that literally destroyed my entire car over night. I parked away from the grass, intentionally to avoid overspray, but my ENTIRE Tesla was destroyed with heavy hard water spots, it literally looks like someone took acid water and dumped it all over my car. Avoid this location at all cost, the management didn't even offer me anything for the horrid stay. read more

My experience at this hotel was good but very risky due to the fact at one point the homeless around the area were trying to break into rooms but was taken care of because the gate in the back was broken but gladly nothing else has happened besides the laundry machines not working for a bit. Pool is at the other building in the back to be a ware during the summer. Very nice gym so daily routine was in check. Breakfast to order over the phone & they let you know when it would be ready by so it varies. Helpful staff members during the day but at night it's quiet so be sure to take care of requests early. Stayed for two nights this past weekend. There was some light construction and renovations, but nothing that impacted my stay. They recognized my status with Marriott and upgraded my room. The location was great for me, since I wanted to visit family out by the dunes and get out to Monterey, both of which were within 30 minutes drive and no traffic. The bed was comfortable and room was quiet. A little warm so had to run the AC. Everything was clean and they had a nice gym on the first floor. This hotel could use an update. We got a king size bed but it seems like a queen..... I can't really tell but seems small for a king. This place is dated the carpet is old. There is a stain on the chair. The food common area is nice and there is start class coffee. The common business area is ok but when I was there the floor was dirty, needed vacuumed, could have been bad timing tho. It was ok, the people were nice, service was good. We were suppose to have a fridge... they brought on in. All in all ok... not sure what other choices there is in Salinas. read more

I travel to Salinas regularly. Since I'm a Marriott Bonvoy Member, I try to stay here when I can. Unfortunately, I'd rather miss out on the points than to stay at this Marriott property again. First, they overbook the king rooms and then switch you to a double queen you arrive. Thanks Marriott. They gave me a bag of popcorn to make up for it (the second time they did it), so at least I got that going for me. Oh, and when they moved me the second time they put me in a room with a joining door, and I can hear the man next to me talking, in his regular voice, rather clearly. Also, their gym is down and it has been for awhile. There's a holiday inn express down the road. I've been there before, and it's cheaper and you get breakfast! read more
