A clean, solid hotel. Noise level is minimum, minus the constant sound of doors closing. I've yet to stay at a hotel where you can't hear the doors of every guest on the floor. But, that is to be expected. My white noise machine blocked it out. In fact there was quite a large wedding the weekend I stayed and I didn't hear any of their comings & goings. Breakfast is included but it's not spectacular-- just pastries and bagels. There is a restaurant/bistro in the hotel where you can order something hot. I opted for delivery to the hotel. Starbucks in the lobby is a perk. Gym is decent, some good cardio machines and free weights. Nothing spectacular but will definitely get the job done. Bed was cozy! I never leave bad reviews lightly, but our experience at the Courtyard by Marriott in Southington deserves to be shared. We arrived at 9:30 pm for a one-night stay and found the receptionist in the office on her phone, not at the welcoming desk. Because she wasn't present where she should have been, she didn't realize that the system needed to be rebooted, not started. This reboot took about 10 minutes, leaving us waiting unnecessarily just to check in. When we finally got to our room, it was clear it had not been cleaned. There was food on the floor (pizza pieces, dried tomato), garbage still in the bins, and dirty towels on the bathroom floor. This level of neglect is unacceptable for any hotel, especially one under the Marriott brand. The frustrating part is that the property itself is nice, fairly new, and in a great location, but it's clearly not managed well. The poor service completely overshadows what could have been a pleasant stay. I hope management takes this seriously because guests deserve much better. read more

Modern and clean hotel. It's nestled in a shopping plaza so you have access to lots of others businesses like Starbucks, Popeyes, and more. Parking is free which is very convenient. Beds were comfy and room was quiet. The hotel offers an eating area to order breakfast and other items. We didn't use the gym but it looked spacious and clean. I'm very particular with noise and cleanliness with hotels and I would highly recommend it and return for a future visit. read more

I stayed here for a couple of nights during a business trip and selected this particular property based on the location and Courtyard brand services, which I've enjoyed over the years! Courtyards were designed for business travelers who are looking for clean, consistent, and functional design yet don't need full service Marriott hotels! The hotel appears to be fairly new, so the lobby and the room layout had a fresh look! I didn't spend a lot of time in the hotel as I was gone most of the day, yet lately, Marriott hotels have decided to skip daily housekeeping, which I feel is cheating the customer! I make my bed at home every morning, yet making my bed in a hotel room feels so odd! The room rates across all brands have doubled or tripled over the last few years, yet these mega hotel chains are using Covid excuses to cut back on basic services such as daily housekeeping! So a few suggestions for this Courtyard to become a 4 to 5 Yelp rated property: Provide daily housekeeping to guests as no one wants to return to their hotel room in the same condition when leaving in the morning. Perhaps offer a free hotel shuttle to say within a couple of miles for the guests. read more

An underwhelming hotel. The staff was rude, the hotel snacks were over priced, and our room wasn't available on time and they refused to do anything about (compensation, offer to hold our bags, etc.). The woman might as well have laughed in our face that the room wasn't ready and we were upset. The place itself was nice, and the room was spacious, but bathroom amenities (towels, TP, shampoo) were all very cheap and disappointing. The metal chairs in the lobby bar are defective and have sharp metal barbs. I sat down on one and immediately felt a painful jab. The new suit pants I was wearing for the first time ever now have a hole in them that requires a repair from not just a normal tailor, but a reweaver. I have reached out to this property multiple times by email and phone for some kind of compensation, but keep getting the runaround. I have left a voicemail with the GM and had my email forwarded to him by a front desk agent, but he refuses to acknowledge any of it. It's one thing to deny my request for compensation (although they should not have furniture with sharp metal barbs in the first place), but it's even worse to just ignore me and hope I forget about it. Omar and all on site staff and corporate management is awful. Had such a terrible and exhausting experience with this place and I tried for months to straighten out our issues and NO ONE cared. Booking.com, where we booked the reservation, stated there was a pool and complimentary breakfast-WRONG! Also workout room was a bust as none of the equipment functioned and none of the staff would offer help. They comped our breakfast (insert vomit emoji), however the lead at the reception desk insisted we be comped for our room and said she would speak to management on our behalf and have them call us with a resolution in 24 hours-eleven phone calls from me and two months later -I gave up. Meanwhile, every time I called I was put on hold and had to listen to the pre-recorded advertisement stating that "Customer Satisfaction is our priority... " among other empty promises. This hotel is new and really nice. I checked in the evening and there was a short line that moved really quickly. The person checking me in was really pleasant and attentive. The process was smooth and in no time I was given my room key and on my way. I booked online through Marriott and was given the option to pick either a room on a low floor or high floor, I picked high and I was pleased to learn they were able to accommodate (it is noted on the site that your request is not guaranteed). I really appreciated getting a call from the front desk a few minutes after settling into my room asking me if everything was up to par and if I needed anything. Great customer service! Popeyes is a few feet away from the hotel, Dunkin' is across the street and target/Starbucks is one or two minutes away by car. The hallways are super bright which I liked as it didn't feel like a creepy lonely hallway. My room was a lot smaller than I had thought it would be but that could be because I was looking at an oversized room online. It had a king bed and a pull out sofa, the tv can be adjusted for whatever area of the room you are occupying. The bed is noticeably firm, not in an uncomfortable way but not what I was expecting. If you have Netflix and Hulu you can log in and watch from the tv which is a cool feature (there is a least one more subscription based media services provided I just forgot the name). The bathroom was big and I liked that there is this shelf that you could reach while taking a shower but away from the shower head so it does not get wet. Really useful for people who want to listen to or even watch something while showering but don't have a waterproof phone/laptop or a speaker. I made it to the gym during my stay and I have to say I was impressed (though I don't typically go to gyms). The gym is decently sized and has a tv. There are a few treadmills and other cardio machines, benches, weights, medicine balls, mats and exercise balls. There is space between the cardio machines and the wall where the tv is where you can do floor workouts. The gym also has an area where you can refill your water bottle and towels. My parents booked a room to stay overnight due to CT's current power outages. My parents are almost 70yrs old and my brother, who has Down's Syndrome and respiratory problems, lives with them. They were stuck between a rock and a hard place by having to live in a house with no power or risk staying in a hotel during a global pandemic. My parents thought the Marriott was a reputable option that would follow the basic CDC recommendations to keep their guests safe but turns out they were wrong. My mom was told check in started at 3pm and she would be issued a digital key. They got to the hotel at 4pm to check in and found a crowded line and lobby. While most of the guests had on masks, she stated the one front desk worker checking guests in, did not. When she got to the front of the line, she was told it would be another hour or so until her room was ready. When she asked if the worker could call or text her when the room was ready, the worker said yes. My mom then asked if the worker had her number to call but the worker told her to wait while she helped someone else. My mom waited and the worker called up another guest after the other. Their room was not ready until 915pm that night. Side note: there were only two towels for three guests and, when they called for another towel, it never came. My mom called customer service to report the poor customer service and lack of COVID protocols implemented. She received a response from Christina Sharp (regional op director) which did not address the lack of covid protocols only to say she was aware the worker greeting all their hotel guests was not wearing a mask because she has "asthma". As a nurse, I can tell you that excuse would not fly in my work environment. Why is it acceptable for a hotel chain not to provide a bare level of safety to it's customers? Sorry this was delayed but it took me a while to recover from the most horrific Marriott experience I've ever had. My wife and I booked a block of 25 rooms for my daughter's wedding in August. We did this 8 months in advance. We went down the week of the wedding and dropped of welcome baskets for our guests that were staying at the hotel. We also let them know that we would be checking in late as we did not have time to stop between the ceremony and reception. We were told no worries everything was all set. So, as planned, we went to the venue after the reception where we had approximately 80 guests staying in 32 rooms. Imagine our disappointment when we were informed, they overbooked and did not have a room for us. So now my daughter is in tears because there is no room for her mother to stay in the hotel and we received little to no empathy from the staff. I followed up directly with the hotel and the women who handles all the large-scale booking expecting an appropriate response. I have since learned that most of these hotels are not actually owned by Marriott, they are owned and managed by private groups that often own several hotels. To make matters worse their solution was giving us a free stay at the very same hotel and a handful of Marriott point with a $90 value. Seriously, for all the stress this caused to my daughter and wife on their wedding night! I would avoid this hotel like the plaque, particularly if you are planning a wedding in the area like we did. read more

While staying at this hotel Courtyard Marriott Southington my car was broken into and was alerted by police at 1:45am on 10/22/23. The thief broke into my passenger side window and stole money and had all four of my lug nuts were off as they wanted to take my tires/ rims of my car. I was lucky that a good Samaritan called from local bar behind designated parking when they noticed suspicious activity. The hotel was made aware of incident and when I called hotel 5 times in last week and left two messages to General Manager. The Courtyard Marriott hasn't returned my calls and haven't offered any reimbursement fee for window and doesn't care and provided no update with their parking lot surveillance. If considering this hotel I would think twice. It's a shame because I expected more from a Marriott property. read more

I was in room 224 from 7/3 - 7/5 and the first night we woke up and noticed weird reddish-rust looking stains on at least 2 pillows and the blanket had a big yellow stain underneath it (sleeping side). To us, they were obvious stains and probably meant that the sheets/pillows were not changed between guests. We were so appalled and asked for new sheets and pillows. We slept in it one more day and I found another reddish stain on one other pillow (that I probably missed from the night before). That day I started noticing some spots on my back, butt, and arms. My husband also had some on his arm. Over the next day or so, those spots became inflamed and itcy, puss-filled and scabbed over. I initially thought it was mosquito bites but I never seen any like that before. I looked it up some more and came across similar cases of bed bug bites. I immediately alerted my doctor for caution and purchased antibiotics and anti-itch creams to combat the constant itching and burning. It is now July 7, and the bites have not gotten any better. I plan to follow up with my doctor's office in the next day or two, if it doesn't get any better. I don't plan to stay there again. I am completely scarred by this. read more

Came here from the Dallas area. We picked this place because of Marriott reputation. Check in was easy. Extra blanket and pillows were already in room upon arrival. The bar in the lobby is good. Very friendly team here. We are from Texas and everyone was great to us. The room was well organized and everything was clean and in place. We came for a Halloween party with friends in the area. The team was helpful in opinions of our costumes. They loved our Texas accents. Had fun talking with the team each day here. Room was cleaned to perfection each day. We will come back and stay here again. Plenty of good places to eat close by. read more

If I could give a quarter star I would!! The service was the absolute WORST. Kept us waiting in the parking lot from 3 pm to almost midnight!!! Just kept telling us there were no clean rooms yet. Gave us 3 room keys and only one worked. When I tried to get new ones at the front desk there was only 1 person and she was busy telling a whole new slew of people that there were no clean rooms yet the next day!! I was not about to wait again! I don't know where the Manager was but it was obvious no one knew what they were doing!! Stay away. And yes, the funky modern half shower door is just stupid. Stayed at this hotel as a halfway point for my road trip. I understand the hotel can't really control who stays there, but the guests there were so loud at like 3 am. I don't know if the walls were just super thin, or what was going on but it was weird. There was yelling and super loud knocking on a bunch of doors. The rooms seemed nice at first appearance and had a cool modern design, but the bathroom was not good. There was no soap? Which seemed like a weird choice during a pandemic. And the shower could only be slightly warm or scalding hot, there was no in between. I also left my jacket on the ground and when I picked it up it was covered in what I can only hope was dirt and dust, it was gross. The beds were very comfortable, so I will give the hotel that. I was disappointed that there was no bible or Book of Mormon in the bedside table because that is always a classic at a good Marriott. read more

Only stayed here for one night but it is the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in with spacious rooms, amazing bathrooms and super nice staff. Quick and easy booking and the location is great too! I had a wedding at the Aqua Turf which is only 8 minuets away and I was able to check in at 11:00pm with no issues. I highly recommend staying here! read more

DO NOT STAY HERE UNLESS YOU WANT A DIRTY ROOM AND TO BE ROBBED!! We had an expensive item of ours stolen from our room by a member of the staff and the hotel management did nothing to make it right. Even speaking to Phil from corporate offices resulted in nothing being done. He sounded sympathetic on the phone and promised he would get to the bottom of it and that he would call me back the next day. It has now been A MONTH since that call with NO follow up! We have called him multiple times over the last month to speak with him, left multiple messages and he is "never available." Don't be fooled by this being a new hotel, you need to protect yourself and your valuables here as if you were staying in a cheap Motel. Clearly the management lets their employees get away scot-free for stealing so this is going to happen to you as well!!!! Whatever employee did this knows they can get away with it because clearly management sees no issue with it!!!!!! On top of THAT we also found hair in our shower when we checked in, who knows what else they didn't clean. read more
