This hotel was very disappointing. I chose this location in part because Google indicated there was an evening social hour, but when I asked at the front desk, the staff member had never heard of it. I stayed four nights in January. The exterior looked nice, but that was about it. Two of those nights were affected by marijuana and cigarette smoke coming through the bathroom vent. It was strong enough that I had to sleep with the window open, even though it was around 10°F outside. Reporting it did not resolve the issue. I also noted a strong marijuana odor near the first-floor elevator. Staff attempted to address it using baking soda powder, but the smell remained. Housekeeping was never provided in my room despite multiple requests. I was later told I had declined service, which is not accurate. Breakfast was also an issue--on two mornings, food ran out early and was not replenished. Overall, the property feels dated and not up to the standards I expect from Marriott. Costco did provide a partial refund after reviewing my complaint, which I appreciated. I would not stay here again. read more

My room's AC wasn't working. The room temperature was 88 degrees for two nights, so they gave me an electric fan for convenience, but the temperature was still 88 degrees. the bed looked like someone slept on it and had tiny chips, crumbs, so I slept on the couch, and the toilet was pretty dirty and obviously looked like pubic hair on the bathroom floor. I notified the front desk about the issues they said Sorry, no other room available at the moment. never will ever stay here again...I'm a Gold Elite for Marriott this is the first time this has happened. We're staying here for an extended time while our house is getting ready for us. I'd rather be in a Red Roof Inn. This the worst run Residence Inn I've ever been to. The AC barely works and is very loud when it is is running, the tub doesn't hold water, the t.v. is very glitchy, the entire place is in disrepair. Worst of all, we haven't had hot water in 5 days and it doesn't seem like it's getting fixed anytime soon. We can't shower or wash dishes. We canceled many plans, had to go work without showering- it's almost 100 degrees outside! They haven't given us an estimated time frame for the water to be fixed. It seems like they couldn't care less. We're Diamond Elite members, which means nothing to them. We've traveled across the U.S. and have always felt comfortable choosing a Marriott property but after the way they've handled this situation we're considering switching hotel chains. read more

It was really bad y'all. REALLY BAD. The toilet had fecal matter from the previous guest (And I'm not a squeamish person, but that's gross. It felt like a dirty gas station bathroom). There were empty water bottles (or used with some water in them) from the previous guest. The soaps/shampoos are communal and bolted to the wall, so the set we had was mostly empty likely because it had been used by so many guests before us. When we asked for more, they said they were out of soap (really?!) and only housekeeping can unlock the old toiletries and put new ones. They did not tell us that we would have no housekeeping for the rest of the weekend because housekeeping apparently no longer works on the weekend. Amenities are lack luster. There is no housekeeping service and there are no signs telling you that you won't receive that. Even when we inquired at the front desk. They just told us there's no housekeeping that works on the weekend and they only send housekeeping to rooms if you make a request during the week (We stayed from Friday -Sunday, and couldn't get any help). Additionally the other resources are also rationed. Our paper towels in the sweet were mostly used, the toilet paper was also not a new role so we only had one toilet paper roll and a quarter between both of us when we arrived. Let me ask for more towels, your front desk seem reluctant to give us enough for two adults. They gave us two big towels and two small ones, which isn't enough given that we don't have any room service. Don't expect a coffee in the room to be restocked either so you might need to rash in that based on your needs. The rooms are outdated and pretty faded looking. The tub and shower head were damaged with hard water rust and lime. The bathroom door doesn't shut properly but it can close if you put your weight on it. The bathroom door didn't lock once you're inside the bathroom because of this defect so I recommend traveling only with someone you feel comfortable seeing you in that compromising position. The bed left very little room to walk around, so it's hard to imagine more than one adult person in the space, and we had two. The breakfast was okay in a pinch, but does not compare to a real breakfast. Mostly powdered eggs with condiments and warm & serve sausage (there was a bone piece in my sausage but that is no one's fault. It's just poor quality sausage, so I spit it out and kept it moving). The waffle machine is the highlight, but there isn't much to put on said waffle. The breakfast experience is definitely several notches below a college dining room but based on what I hear about prison, I think it's a little better than that. This resembled more of a roach motel with hotel prices. I have another stay booked out of residence in and a different city coming up in a couple of months. Marriott Bonvoy said that it's likely a property or staffing issue, But they could only offer us enough points for part of a night to another Marriott hotel days after we had left and gone back home. And yes, I am a Marriott Bonvoy member with a good number of points on my account. I typically stay at Hilton and I'd like we will go back to doing that after this experience. I think because of COVID, hotels have cut back on amenities, staff training, and customer service. Covid hit a lot of industries pretty hard, and the hotel business is likely no exception. For that means that We will be experiencing something like this for many years to come before they even consider bringing back the amenities that travelers love that made them stay in hotels to begin with. My guess is that moving forward, I likely will not stay in a hotel that is $200 per night that has so many restrictions on their services. read more

I stayed in a suite with living room, kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom. It was a nice stay as the room was well decorated and the furniture was nice. The only con is that there was very few trash cans available in the whole room which made it very inconvenient. Else, it was a nice stay. The Residence had a swimming pool and a gym. Which was a great plus. The location of the place was great. Apparently it seems to be in the middle of other businesses. read more

I have to stay here for a few months due to unforeseen circumstances & 2 weeks in, I can't find anything I dislike. The suite that I'm in is large and quiet. The kitchen is fully furnished (lobby area has plenty of amenities if needed). The beds are soft as well as the heavy sheets which are my favorite. Towels are fresh and clean. The TV content is very nice. WiFi is strong which is important because phone service wasn't the greatest in certain areas of the suite. Front desk is very friendly & responsive. Breakfast is my favorite in the mornings. The fruit is fresh & the entire set up if the rest of their hot/cold breakfast is perfect. Staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel overall is quiet and you don't see too many people, unless gathered in the lobby area right where the breakfast is held each morning. The room key cards are extremely fragile to phones so keep them away to avoid demagnetization. Happened twice to us. Right off the highway so easy access to that & also a few gas stations are nearby as well. There's a Dunkin literally next door and also Pizza/Subway/Chinese on the same strip. Newly renovated and all the amenities you expect. I really enjoyed my stay here with my family. Made us feel welcome, complimentary breakfast has a good range of food items, great coffee too. The room suite we had was wonderful with a full kitchen, microwave, toaster, oven and dishwasher. Dinnerware, mugs, utensils of the highest quality available. I had a bunch of family staying in different days paces nearby (Homewood suites, Fairfield inn) but ours surpassed everyone's experiences. The pool was amazing and we had it all to ourselves. Definitely will come back to this hotel whenever we're in the neighborhood. read more

We were just at another Residence Inn property that was soooooo much nicer. Issues at this property: Couch/sofa: people like to sit at the ends/sides, but the sides are firm and slump badly towards center so you CAN'T sit comfortably. Previous property had sofa bed but design allowed for comfortable sitting. Bathroom: no fan for steam exhaust so hot shower sets off smoke detector. Tiny and thin towels, only 2 of each. Single ply TP; very thin and scratchy. No space in shower for personal toiletries. Bedroom: not enough drawer space for 2 people for weeklong stay Kitchen: 2 burner stove and microwave but no oven, not even a toaster oven. I understand why so just setting expectations. Cleaning service on demand only. People smoke right outside doors and while walking in common areas. Very unpleasant! Loud pipes; very loud. Free internet so slow you do better to turn off your wifi. read more

I had stayed one night for a business trip. Lots of dogs both inside as well as being walked around the hotel very unsanitary. I had no HOT water in the shower for the morning....wow unreal. Talk about taking a very cold shower never again !! When I checked out the front clerk said I will take $10 off your bill oh gees wow really.....who cares i needed hot water and this hotel failed in so many ways. Absolutely nothing to complain about. It's a newer hotel with clean rooms, a friendly staff, and close proximity to ESPN. The water pressure is great, there are convenient plugs for your various portable electronic devices, the free wifi is speedy. I'll stay here again when I'm back in town, no doubt. The Dunkin Donuts drive-thru next door makes it easy to grab a cup of coffee on the way to work. :) read more

This is going to be a lengthy review. Back in May, I booked a room for two nights in August. As time went on, my family and I decided to get another night. In July I booked a third night. I called the hotel to ask for a room with an oven and to make sure they got the additional night. The friendly employee said "let me lock this in for you" and he said it was no problem. A couple of days later, I noticed my card was charged, one night from my initial booking, and a charge for the third night. I called the hotel to ask about the charges and to mention that they were missing a night, but this other employee would barely let me talk. I have only ever stayed at Residence Inns via advanced purchase member rate, and they usually charge me after I check out. This employee said the hotel reserves the right to charge me at any time, and I had no chance to mention the missing charge. When my family and I checked in, I asked if the hotel had the charges noted and I was told that they did. Unfortunately, the room had a foul odor, like a dog was recently in the room. Someone came and sprayed the carpet but that did not help. The AC had barely any power or cool air, so the room was always hot. The TV reception kept losing connectivity, and we had to keep signing into the WiFi each day. It was not pleasant at all. After my stay, my bill reflected my deposit and the balance that was left, but I was charged again for the same amount as the two nights I was charged in July. I tried calling, was told I would get a call back, and no one called. I tried emailing, and got no response until a week ago. I tried emailing back and the email address was "no longer valid." I contacted my bank and disputed one of the additional charges so I would only pay the right balance. The bank credited me after I showed them the bill, and they said the hotel had not reached out to them after my bank contacted the hotel. I have never had an experience with a Residence Inn hotel that was this bad. I can't believe they tried to steal from me and and disregarded me the way that they did. If I go back to Connecticut again, I am steering clear of this hotel. read more

I stayed here for business. Overall it was a nice hotel. The staff is very nice, the carpets are clean, and they have at least two flat screen TVs: one in the living area and one in the bedroom. If you are a light sleeper, ask for an even numbered room. I had to switch from a very nice two bedroom room suite, to a single bedroom suite due to the highway traffic noise. If you can't switch, ask for a white noise machine. They have them at the front desk. They have free wifi and a business area with two computers and a free printer. Serve yourself breakfast starts at 6am. They have make your own waffles, cereal, eggs, potatoes, and some type of meat, yogurt, juices, pastries, and fruit. I would stay here again. read more

I stayed there in November 2020 for 4 days. The hotel was clean and quiet. The only thing I had a problem with was their bagged breakfast. Each day all you got was a muffin and a granola bar, and each and every day it was the exact same type. No juice, no yogurt, nothing else. They put almost no effort into their grab and go breakfast. Other hotels I stayed at during that month put much more effort into their breakfasts, usually they offered some combination of bread, muffin, fruit, yogurt, juice or frozen breakfast sandwiches you could bring back to your room and heat up. read more

Nice hotel & friendly staff with good location. Good breakfast & evening social dinner. My problem is excessive noise (jumping, running & playing basketball in the room) coming from the top floor. Since guests are staying for a month, hotel prefers to keep them on top floor so as to not inconvenience them. So I guess that they're willing to just take on complaints from any guests who are unfortunate enough to get room underneath them. It is the most annoying hotel stay & we are here for 4 nights. Can't wait to check out. Definitely ask for top floor or just make sure you do not have jumping & running kids above you or bring a bottle of Tylenol. read more

We will have stayed here for 12 nights by the time the stay is over and the reason for the somewhat negative review is based completly on the location of the hotel. The rooms are clean and look recently updated/renovated. The TVs are new flat screen HD TVs not the old ones that are still found in some Residence Inns. The crew is nice, housekeeping has been prompted and was flexible with our schedule. But once again it all comes down to the location, there are no sidewalks really to walk and nothing really close. I mean there is a Subway and a Duncan Donuts connected to the hotel. There is a Target you can see the driveway to but can't get without crossing two highway entrance ramps and walking right by a sign that says crossing is illegal. Anyways a decent hotel and nice play to stay, especially if you are working with or being involved with ESPN. read more

Pool, free breakfast, dinner cocktail hour, & small fitness center with 2 treadmills and dumbbells - but it works for maintaining fitness, while traveling. Very quiet. Privacy is respected. I think this Residence Inn is just about ready for a refresh. Stains on the carpet, door was misaligned... I waited almost 2 weeks before a number of little things finally got to me: - noisy AC unit, like there's a spinning piece that's hitting something - my bed kept making noises for about 30 seconds after every time I moved, like there was some plastic thing brushing/swinging against something - the highway is basically out your window (depending which side you're on) - not terribly loud, but the noise from the AC and bed made falling asleep a little frustrating - room cleaning/housekeeping is a little on the sloppy side - wireless Internet drops off all the time, I don't use it anymore and luckily I have an aircard (3G, and might even be faster than the wifi here...definitely close), one week there was another wireless network named "resideceinn" (note the typo) which disappeared after a few days, I'm very suspicious that may have been setup with malicious intent by a guest or someone else It's a solid place and I love that they serve dinner and have $1 beer/wine. But those little things listed above will make me look for a different hotel next time I'm in town for more than a week again. I will add that everyone I spoke to at the desk or in the kitchen was very nice and welcoming. read more

More like a Ritz Carlton than a Residence Inn. We stayed there for a month and I can't tell you how helpful all of these folks were. Hotel is in a central location to conduct your business. Floors are plywood thin and therefore noise travels from one floor to the lower. Staff opted to put a party on second floor and we had the "good fortune" to be right below them. I stayed here one night and have stayed at other Residence Marriotts in the past. This hotel was much like the others I've stayed at however had some issues. When I went to turn on the TV there was no signal. I checked different input options with no luck. I then realized the coaxial line was not attached to anything. I used the hotel phone to call the front desk which also didn't work. I used my cell to call and have someone come up to fix the TV. When they arrived they too could not figure out what the coaxial line should be connected to. I called the front desk again to ask for something else to be done(bring a cable box, get another room) they said they would check on that and get back to me. They never did and I ended up falling asleep. There were also no garbage cans in the room. Overall not terrible but it would have been nice to have the TV working. Hopefully this will be fixed before someone else stays in the room. read more

BRIDES & GROOMS look else where! I'm not one to post/say negative things like this, but this was very upsetting. The Residence Inn by Marriott in Southington did NOT have a room reserved for my sister and my new brother on their wedding night & the hotel ended up selling out. We were told they would get a complimentary room for having a wedding block with them, with no min. number of rooms booked. I'd also like to mention I spent $680 that weekend between booking the rehearsal dinner there, a suite for the bridal party to get ready in, and for my husband and I to stay the night of the wedding with friends. The event coordinator was contacted & she was very rude & could honestly care less that my sister-bride was CRYING in her lobby. The hotel did nothing about it (not even an apology). Our amazing friends gave up their bed and let the newlyweds stay with us. Needless to say their wedding night wasn't as romantic as they always imagined. I feel awful that this happen to them & I wanted to give other brides & grooms a heads up... book some place where you'll be appreciated & taking care of! (BTW the newlyweds still haven't been contacted by the hotel or the event coordinator... 3 days later) read more
