I stumbled along this place online and we were so happy I did! The innkeeper was very gracious and gave great recommendations on local restaurants and activities. It was September/October so we decided we wanted to take a "leaf peeping" drive and so we followed a map and some road signs for magnificent views of the New England fall foliage. We even went over a few covered bridges, that was a first for us! We did wine tastings at local nearby wineries, including Hopkins, which was our favorite. We bought some souvenir wine glasses and a bottle (or three) of wine and enjoyed it at Lake Waramaug -- the most beautiful autumn setting -- not far from home base at Constitution Oak. Bunnell Farm was nearby and they have a great corn maze. You can also stop for fresh produce, pickles and preserves at Freund Farm along the Leaf Peeping route. This B&B is in a great area with lots of local attractions nearby, including historic Litchfield. We stayed in a room upstairs and it was huge! There were 3 beds so we both had our own bed and then some. The bathroom was in the hallway but we were the only guests so it didn't matter. There was a nice dining room with pastries and coffee waiting for us in the morning and a cozy sitting room to unwind.

I stayed in early November so Halloween decorations were still up and the fall vibe with the pumpkin decorations really added to the ambience. This place was truly a dream, like a night in a museum -- very pristine, the most comfortable bedding, there were other guests but everyone was quiet and respectful. The hallways and the room itself had a strong smell of bleach. I appreciate having a clean and disinfected room but this was a LOT of bleach. Our room was also showing signs of age: mold on the caulk ring around the tub spout; one upholstered headboard had what I can only describe as claw marks; and there was a line on one wall running along the ceiling that probably wasn't mold, but looked too much like mold not to resolve. There were also two hairs on the shower enclosure by the shampoo dispenser etc. Noise was tolerable. Occasionally car or motorcycle noise was quite loud. The usual children running in the hallway at 9am. Didn't hear anything from adjacent rooms other than door slamming, but we did have white noise playing pretty loudly. There was a wedding so I have to guess that we were far away from the guests. You have your choice of paid valet parking or Self parking in the back. We chose self parking. There aren't a ton of spots so I don't know what happens if they are full. Your room key gives you access to a rear entrance from the parking lot. There's a sign--we found the door, but the door itself was not clearly marked. It also lets you into a stairwell that feels slightly sketch. If I were a single woman I might feel uncomfortable using it. Perhaps a silly point but I hate that they pipe in music in front of the inn. It feels so cheap to me and so unnecessary. Just a pet peeve. In conclusion, I would avoid coming back. This feels like a place where standards and maintenance are starting to slip.

For a larger Bed & Breakfast in terms of the property itself, it felt super warm and cozy. The common areas were really nice and the rooms were perfect. The location can't be beat as you are right in the middle of the North Fork surrounded by great wineries, restaurants, and beaches. As to the breakfast portion of the "B & B"? Let's just say we didn't need to eat the rest of the day. It was fantastic. Our hosts - Dave and Donna - were just so nice and we not only enjoyed staying at their house, but really enjoyed sitting and chatting with them during our visit. They do a great job and made us feel welcome. If you are heading to the North Fork, it's a perfect place to settle in for a night or more. A pool and plenty of seating outside both under cover and under the sky. We played corn hole the last day. Cute shaped pool is 4-9 ft. Guests must be able to do stairs as there are three floors. I stayed in "William" which had a chair, two lights, a sink, fridge, two windows and full sized bed. I didn't mind sharing the bathroom/shower. I came here for a relaxing weekend and got just that!
