Stayed here for 1 night for business. It's in a great location as there are a number of restaurants nearby, including a great breakfast joint just a few minutes walk away. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. The service is excellent, especially from the young gentleman at the front desk. Friendly and eager to help any way he can. I appreciated the details such as having a clean water dispenser at the elevator. I like to load up on water during my travels so that was very convenient. The hotel has a restaurant and snack shop in the lobby area for those who want to stay inside and still grab a bite/drink. I would stay here again when I am in the area.

My company booked this place for me during my training week in Chicago. I'm pretty ho-hum about my experience here. Nothing great stood out. The positives: - The king sized bed in my room was insanely too large. - They offered up free breakfast (which I never had a chance to try) - They offer free shuttle service (never used, company gave me a car) - They do have a gym - The maids ended up leaving me extra sugar and creamer one day (thank God, two sugars for a cup of coffee??) - They have Paul Mitchell products for guests (which was nice, been a long time since I used those) - Mini fridge in the room - Close to everything in Schaumburg, including a great bar The negatives: - No mini bar - No safe - Gym didn't have a water cooler my first few trips - Gym was very limited on equipment - One elevator was out of service during part of my trip - The front desk wasn't much help at all with directions Overall, this place was just average to me. I wouldn't pick it again, mainly due to the gym. However, if you're here and need a bed to sleep in and don't plan to be at the hotel much, not a bad option.

Our group had a wonderful time at our overnight Retreat. The staff was very accommodating and friendly in the midst of all of our special requests. It's situated in a great location close enough to Woodfield Mall.but far enough away that it feels special. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Meeting space was great and flexible as needed. The outdoor firepit was a nice treat. Definitely recommend!

King size bed, nonsmoking room. Very clean, modern and cozy.

Ver clean, cozy, professional looking. The staff was very warm, friendly, inviting when I checked in, it was very helpful and answered all the questions that I had. The room that we got for the night was very cozy, modern, clean, and inviting. Definitely one of the better hotel rooms I've stayed in in the Chicago area. Decent bed, comfy pillows, very much a welcome compared to a few other places I have stayed at around this area. The shower was the big surprise. NO LOW FLOW, even on the 5th floor. Good pressure and a good shower head. I am real anal about my showers in hotels, and this one is by FAR the best I have had in the Schaumburg area. I did have a problem during my stay, which when I went down to the front desk, they were very quick and accommodating to resolve my issue. The only real beef I have with this hotel is that the front desk staff is not always at the front desk, you have to dial zero on the phone at the front desk to contact the clerk that's on duty. But honestly that's a very small issue that is not a big deal and does not really affect how I feel about my stay here. The only reason why this did not get a 5 star review is simple because there is no true free wifi. You get a slow wifi for free, but a speeder access wifi you have to pay for. Boo! This place should be getting a 4 1/2 star rating, but the wifi issues keeps me from giving it a perfect score.

    Relaxin atmosphere.

We used to live in Schaumburg, so we know the area well, and choose this side of town for many reasons. The outside was well lit with plenty of parking and hotel is conveniently located near 290 and 90. There are lots of food options nearby: ChicagoLand staples: Portillo's and Lou Malnati's), as well as Cane Chicken, Wildfire (my fav!), Seasons 52, Shaw's Crab House, Tokyo Pub, Uncle Julio's, and the list goes on and on! You're also within 5 mins of a Target, in case you need travel staples, as well as the Streets of Woodfield if you want an outdoor mall experience. Our fav breakfast place, Maxfield's is less than 10mins away and across the street from our fav parks. Back to the hotel: Staff were courteous and accommodating, fast and easy check in process. There is seating downstairs if you want a spot to chat or have coffee with friends. There is a restaurant/bar inside the hotel; breakfast available for $. We didn't stay for breakfast, but food we saw folks eating looked ok. I liked that this location also has a little shop in case you want some pop or junk food and don't feel like running out! The room is where I took a star off; things we noticed: bed was too lumpy (we're used to hotel beds being on firmer side) and the carpet had a stain in front of fridge (we guessed it was most likely due to the fridge being over cold--the fridge exploded one of our pops, thankfully just inside the fridge). Neither of these things would prevent us from staying again, just things we noticed.

Well, I went and got the typical scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, and a bandanna. While this location offers the same breakfast items as the Hampton Inn and Embassy Suites, at this Garden Inn location, you have to pay $16.80. They had a man go around filling your coffee mug and getting your food, but again, it's the standard free breakfast items you'd find at other Hilton chains, which explains why we met up and got the items ourselves. Needless to say, the next morning, I went to a local place for breakfast and paid less than $10.00. Next, I checked in late Monday and went to Jewel Osco for work items: a case of water and snacks to keep my team focused and uplifted. Well, after returning, I found out that a water main had broken, flooding some lower-level rooms, and that the fire marshal had shut down the elevators. The manager got two staff members to help me with my grocery bags since I was on the third floor. He told me that he could book me into another hotel. Still, if anyone knows anything about the Chicagoland area, the bedbug capital of the US, it is Chicago, followed by Cleveland and Detroit. So, no, without researching, I'm not moving to another hotel. Besides, has anyone read my Embassy Suites review that mentioned black mold being painted over? By Wednesday, the elevator still wasn't working when I checked out. It was a pain bringing down my hug roller bags, computer bag, and tools, but at least I'm not bringing critters with me. The final issue was that the showerhead in the bathroom was pointed directly at the toilet, so the entire floor got soaked and became a slip hazard. Someone obviously didn't think that through! But wait, one more issue, the reading lamp didn't work; that was close to my bed. On a good note, the staff were friendly, and the hotel was clean, so three out of five stars.

We headed to breakfast where the food was in the hallway and the dining was in the big event room where main speakers were going to be. The room where we had the presentation fit around 30 people in round tables. The AV guy came in to check if we were all tested and ready to go which was all set! In between sessions, the coffee area was packed with coffee, tea, water and soda. The only bad part, there was another conference and you had to pass through this area for the other conference and they were taking our coffee, drinks, etc. The venue finally out signs. We had a formal dinner but the staff seemed very rushed in everything. Before my co-worker was finished eating they were already asking him if he was finished and wanting dessert. The GM told us that they would conduct an investigation and call us on Monday. When she called, she stated that after reviewing the footage they did not see the housekeeping staff come out of the room with any of our missing belongings! As if someone stealing would visibly walk out with valuables in front of the camera. The items that were missing were tucked away in between our folded clothes so n a bag. So, to receive a plastic bag back with only my clothes (including my personals like underwear and lingerie) means that they went through all of our belongings and took what they wanted. Unfortunately, we are now out over $2000 in items according to the Schaumburg police department. We can re purchase these items eventually but what we can't get back is our privacy. We feel violated. Especially because management brushed it off so easily. You would never think that your belongings would not be safe at a hotel. We are now seeking legal action against the hotel to ensure this does not happen to anyone else. I definitely would not recommend staying at this hotel as your belongings are not safe and management protects their employees that are stealing.

The next day I checked out and instead of the hotel asking this woman to leave immediately I was told by another guest that they allowed this dangerous woman to remain longer till she found alternative housing option. Apparently she was there because her house burnt down. Still the staff here never handled it properly and I may relay this information to corporate.
