My company booked this place for me during my training week in Chicago. I'm pretty ho-hum about my experience here. Nothing great stood out. The positives: - The king sized bed in my room was insanely too large. - They offered up free breakfast (which I never had a chance to try) - They offer free shuttle service (never used, company gave me a car) - They do have a gym - The maids ended up leaving me extra sugar and creamer one day (thank God, two sugars for a cup of coffee??) - They have Paul Mitchell products for guests (which was nice, been a long time since I used those) - Mini fridge in the room - Close to everything in Schaumburg, including a great bar The negatives: - No mini bar - No safe - Gym didn't have a water cooler my first few trips - Gym was very limited on equipment - One elevator was out of service during part of my trip - The front desk wasn't much help at all with directions Overall, this place was just average to me. I wouldn't pick it again, mainly due to the gym. However, if you're here and need a bed to sleep in and don't plan to be at the hotel much, not a bad option.

Our group had a wonderful time at our overnight Retreat. The staff was very accommodating and friendly in the midst of all of our special requests. It's situated in a great location close enough to Woodfield Mall.but far enough away that it feels special. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Meeting space was great and flexible as needed. The outdoor firepit was a nice treat. Definitely recommend!

King size bed, nonsmoking room. Very clean, modern and cozy.

Ver clean, cozy, professional looking. The staff was very warm, friendly, inviting when I checked in, it was very helpful and answered all the questions that I had. The room that we got for the night was very cozy, modern, clean, and inviting. Definitely one of the better hotel rooms I've stayed in in the Chicago area. Decent bed, comfy pillows, very much a welcome compared to a few other places I have stayed at around this area. The shower was the big surprise. NO LOW FLOW, even on the 5th floor. Good pressure and a good shower head. I am real anal about my showers in hotels, and this one is by FAR the best I have had in the Schaumburg area. I did have a problem during my stay, which when I went down to the front desk, they were very quick and accommodating to resolve my issue. The only real beef I have with this hotel is that the front desk staff is not always at the front desk, you have to dial zero on the phone at the front desk to contact the clerk that's on duty. But honestly that's a very small issue that is not a big deal and does not really affect how I feel about my stay here. The only reason why this did not get a 5 star review is simple because there is no true free wifi. You get a slow wifi for free, but a speeder access wifi you have to pay for. Boo! This place should be getting a 4 1/2 star rating, but the wifi issues keeps me from giving it a perfect score.

    Relaxin atmosphere.

Well, I went and got the typical scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, and a bandanna. While this location offers the same breakfast items as the Hampton Inn and Embassy Suites, at this Garden Inn location, you have to pay $16.80. They had a man go around filling your coffee mug and getting your food, but again, it's the standard free breakfast items you'd find at other Hilton chains, which explains why we met up and got the items ourselves. Needless to say, the next morning, I went to a local place for breakfast and paid less than $10.00. Next, I checked in late Monday and went to Jewel Osco for work items: a case of water and snacks to keep my team focused and uplifted. Well, after returning, I found out that a water main had broken, flooding some lower-level rooms, and that the fire marshal had shut down the elevators. The manager got two staff members to help me with my grocery bags since I was on the third floor. He told me that he could book me into another hotel. Still, if anyone knows anything about the Chicagoland area, the bedbug capital of the US, it is Chicago, followed by Cleveland and Detroit. So, no, without researching, I'm not moving to another hotel. Besides, has anyone read my Embassy Suites review that mentioned black mold being painted over? By Wednesday, the elevator still wasn't working when I checked out. It was a pain bringing down my hug roller bags, computer bag, and tools, but at least I'm not bringing critters with me. The final issue was that the showerhead in the bathroom was pointed directly at the toilet, so the entire floor got soaked and became a slip hazard. Someone obviously didn't think that through! But wait, one more issue, the reading lamp didn't work; that was close to my bed. On a good note, the staff were friendly, and the hotel was clean, so three out of five stars.

The hotel entrance after the revolving doors is stunning. I went to my co-workers hotel room to drop off my gear and it was very clean. Spacious rooms and the bathroom mirror had an embedded TV. We headed to breakfast where the food was in the hallway and the dining was in the big event room where main speakers were going to be. The room where we had the presentation fit around 30 people in round tables. The AV guy came in to check if we were all tested and ready to go which was all set! In between sessions, the coffee area was packed with coffee, tea, water and soda. The only bad part, there was another conference and you had to pass through this area for the other conference and they were taking our coffee, drinks, etc. The venue finally out signs. We had a formal dinner but the staff seemed very rushed in everything. Before my co-worker was finished eating they were already asking him if he was finished and wanting dessert. I like customer service but no need to rush people. Overall, the place is great, the venue is beatiful and it was a positive experience.

However, the breakfast area became very crowded with other wedding party guests. We never received a copy of our check. However, they charged $6 to our room as a tip which we never left. The next 2 days there was a breakfast buffet for the wedding party which included scrambled eggs with cheese, scrambled eggs with veggies, roasted potatoes, fruit, bread, coffee. It was pretty generic tasting. Also to top it off the pool was being renovated so the kids couldn't enjoy that. I also heard many of the wedding guests were charged extra on checkout. So this is the review I was looking for to determine the best place for block rooms for my wedding…read moreat Chandler's in Schaumburg. 1) There is a shuttle that goes between Chandler's and Country Inn and this was SO good. It was clean, big enough for at least 20 people, and the driver was very friendly. We scheduled everything through Isabel and she made it easy. 2) Breakfast was free and was honestly pretty good - Schaumburg has a bunch of really great breakfast and brunch restaurants so I'd personally recommend checking those out, but if you want a good free breakfast, this works. There seemed to have plenty of seating and it was clean. 3) Rooms were pretty good - you can tell they're doing as much as possible with what they have. They're not huge, but we got the king bed bridal suite and it was nice. It did have a fire place but it was July so we were good. We honestly didn't have time to use the whirlpool/hot tub in the room and would've opted for more room for getting ready vs. having the whirlpool but it's a cool extra. Beds are pretty comfortable for a night or two, everything seemed clean. 4) Getting Ready - My biggest concern was would there be enough space for the makeup artist, hair stylist, bridesmaid, mother of bride, bride, flower girl and her mom, and at least 1-2 more bridal support team. It was a bit tight but we made it work! The makeup artist went by the window, the hair stylist went by the desk, and they were able to work on one person at a time. People waiting or chatting sat on the whirlpool/hot tub sides and on the bed, and we had 2 friends bring over some extra office chairs from their rooms. I DID NOT get into my dress at the hotel - there would not have been enough room for sure. 5) The Staff - was friendly and Isabel was very very attentive. She did come into management of the hotel in the middle of our engagement so I think there might have been some new employees - a few family members had trouble booking and the employees seemed confused, so Isabel said to just call her directly instead of the front desk. You do have to be proactive and ask for how many people are staying in rooms, and ask for the sheet that says who and how long - but she gets you the information ASAP. 6) All in all - it was super close to our reception, very close to plenty of great restaurants and places to go for fun stuff, the staff seemed friendly, and everything worked out!
