Pretty good place. They have lots of pictures online of the rooms with the kitchenette. The kitchenette comes with a microwave, oven/stove, sink, and full size refrigerator freezer. There were lots of kitchenette utensils too. There is a fireplace for synthetic logs, and a working desk that faces a small tv. The bathroom has one sink separated from the toilet and shower/bath by a door. The bathroom could have been larger or had a sliding door because the swing of the door did not leave much space in there. They had complimentary shampoo, conditioner, and body soap. There was a small soap bar and lotion by the sink. I used the hair dryer in multiple occasions, very useful. There is a full sized mirror. There are also two closets for your clothes. No house keeping, except upon request. The complimentary breakfast gets full with people. They had the standard cereals from dispensers (cheerios, shredded wheat, Frosted Flakes). There were prepacked oatmeal too that just needed hot water added. They had gluten free packaged muffins. They also had a make your own waffle station with the mixed batter and hot waffle makers. You could put jelly, peanut butter, syrup or honey on it. On rotation, they sometimes had either a breakfast burrito or sausage with potato bits. They sometimes had scrambled eggs or frittata eggs. They also had souffle eggs. They also had toast, English muffins, and bagels next to a toaster. There was also hot oatmeal available with toppings. They had boiled eggs and a variety of yogurt. I didn't try the soda machine orange juice or apple juice but I had the low fat chocolate and regular milk. read more

We stayed at this hotel during our recent visit to Illinois. Our main reason for visiting was site seeing Chicago, but didn't want to stay in the city and pay for daily parking. When checking in, the staff gave us a hand written welcome note, and a welcome bag with water and snacks. It was so welcoming after a long day of travel. The room itself was great. We reserved a one bedroom, upstairs loft, and 2 bathroom room. It was nice to have the separate sleeping spaces for our family, and to have two bathrooms. There was a full kitchen as well. They offer complementary breakfast in the main facility. You have to eat there, as they don't have paper plates. It's typical hotel options. Parking: Ample surface parking. read more

Got lost while trying to find the place (close to midnight), but eventually being lost was a good thing lol... because somehow I ended up at McDonalds, got some food and restarted the navigation and was able to find it. So it all worked out lol, filled my hunger and had a good night sleep. The check-in took longer then usual, the lady in front of me was giving the clerk some attitude issues... got my key, clerk pointed to the map of my room and off I went. Stayed for two nights, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom could use another light or brighter lightbulb. You can hear the squeaking noise from upstairs when folks were walking around and the only draw back on this day, group of folks decided to rent a room for Halloween party - enjoyed the country music, thanks :) Overall, decent place, hidden amongst the corporate offices. There are many choices we could of made for an extended stay in the North Suburbs, including Airbnb homes or condos, but a friend recommended to check out The Marriott Residence Inn in Deerfield for a two week stay. I was shocked how great the price was, giving us everything we need as if we were staying in a smaller version of our home. Full kitchen with plenty of cabinets, full size refrigerator, large oven and stove, dishes, silverware, a large table for dining and plenty of counter space. There was nothing missing that prevented us from cooking 3 meals a day if we wanted. The living area had a large couch with a big screen TV in front of it that swiveled left to the bedroom area. It had a fireplace to make a fire with actual real logs. Very cozy. Most important, their was a long desk work area with all the connections for computers, chargers and plugs to spend all the time I needed there to run my business and with 2 computer screens and still enough room for my laptop to set up. So many organized connections. The bedroom area was very comfortable, with end tables and drawers on each side of the comfortable bed. The TV was set up on a large double dresser for plenty of clothes space. The bathroom and shower were very sufficient to put all our bathroom items , the shower nothing special, but served its purpose. Along side the bathroom was a nice size closet. All this was in an open format, although they have some suites with doors that divided the office area from the rest of the area, but this was fine for us. They have a pool and small gym which we was great because we had to make an appointment to work out for an hour with no one else in the gym. Very safe during the pandemic. The gym had a large drum of disinfectant wipes to wipe the equipment and your hands. We walked 50 yards to get to the gym from our suite. Perfect. They also supplied a washer and dryer in a separate area in a different building and was also very convenient. There was nothing more we needed. We did our shopping, cooked our breakfast and if we chose to , could of made lunch and dinner if we were not out at restaurants in the area. I could of stayed there much longer if needed. Never knew until this visit what they offered, but I got a lot of work done, relaxed, slept great and had fun cooking meals there as well as great private use of the gym. The cleaning service came 3 times a week. We will be using Marriott Residence in easily when we go back to see family in Chicago. read more

Not more than 3 stars. It's in Deerfield, so they really need to put some money into this location. Our family had three rooms for three nights. I had the 2-bedroom suite, and the others had the standard. Is it clean and will you get good night's sleep? Yes. It's old though and it shows. Carpet is way outdated worn out (keep your socks on). The windows open but have no screens? One family members room had a strong weird smell to it. It didn't bother her and her husband, but it did me. Told the front desk and they did nothing. The other family member switched rooms because of old creaking pipes. The breakfast during the week is barely passible. A little better when the weekend came. Now not to totally bash the place, the grounds are kept impeccable. I recommend a room on the back side, otherwise you will have headlights coming into your room. My perception is they cut corners after COVID, and the staff does the best with what they have to work with. I could carry on with a laundry list of these areas, but I will save it. If you're reading this wondering if it's an okay place to stay, it is just fine. You will be safe, get a good night's sleep in clean sheets, and have the breakfast in the morning to get you on your way. Lastly, do not leave anything in your room, because you will not see it again. Left two dress shirts in the closet, called and said they would call me back, but never did. Those I can easily replace. Make sure you put the DND magnet on the outside of your door or staff will let themselves in to leave you notes and things. I'm not waiting around to see if the magnet works, I was not in a place to answer the door or have it opened on me and he never ANNOUNCED himself before opening the door he lied. This is no ok the note could be taped to the door or you could call. I no longer felt safe. The front desk said that is your policy and the staff is allowed to enter the room if the sign is not on the door. 1) It feels FREEZING in the room even though the thermostat says 76. 2) Apparently I can't attach a video but I wish I could - it is ridiculous. You can hear every step of the upstairs neighbors walking around, not to mention when they use the stairs it sounds like an earthquake. I actually heard what sounded like someone peeing, followed by a toilet flushing. Hope you brought earplugs!! 3) I checked in during the winter on a day that it was 1 degree. Upon arrival to the room, I was unable to open the door at all. Front desk was very kind, and he suggested the wood was changing due to the cold. He came down and was able to open it, but it continues to take me 10 minutes of trying every time. Which is not fun when it's 1 degree outside. read more

This is actually one of the better extended-stay-like suites that I have stayed at. It is a great combination of a hotel and apartment suite with plenty of room, a comfortable Marriott bed, and everything you need (and more!) in a fully-stocked kitchen, complete with a dining table and a full set of cooking wares and serving utensils (yes - even a salad bowl, storage containers, and a measuring cup). Some highlights: 1. There is a grocery shopping service. You give the front desk your list, they shop/deliver, and the charge is added to your bill. 2. A great continental breakfast with sausage, eggs, scrambled eggs and egg whites, granola, waffle iron, chocolate croissants, fruit, yogurts, juices, oatmeal, and your standard baked breads. There is also a fully stocked bar of waffle and oatmeal toppings, along with Starbucks coffee. This is one of the best complimentary breakfast selections I have had. 3. Small but very clean fitness center with 3 treadmills, a stationary bike, elliptical, and free weights. 4. Very friendly and helpful staff who give you a "welcome package" with a water bottle and snack (eg. granola bar, trail mix, etc.). 5. 24 hour business center with computer and printer 6. Shuttle to nearby areas and the airport on request 7. Weekly events and happy hours 8. I stayed here for a week while on business in Northbrook. The hotel is about a 1/2 hour drive from O'hare airport. The front desk was courteous and checking in was painless. The Room I stayed in a suite with 2 beds and a full kitchen (fridge, microwave, stovetop / oven, and even a dish washer). The suite was well kept throughout the week, and the bathroom and kitchen was extremely clean. Assortment of pillows with different firmness and the bed is of medium firmness. The thermostat controlled AC and Heat is a little noisy but shutting the double door to the bedroom helps at night. Free Breakfast One of the main reason I picked this hotel was its offering of free hot breakfast and it did not disappoint. Real scrambled eggs (even egg whites on one day), proteins like bacon, ham, or sausage on different days, waffles and assortment of bread. Lighter fare like fresh fruits and yogurt was also available. Drinks included the usual: coffee, tea, and juices. Problem The only glitch in my stay was the room's card reader lock malfunctioned one day and I had to wait for maintenance to replace the lock. It took about 20 minutes and I took advantage of the outdoor fire pit while I waited. Nearby There is an abundance of shops and restaurants nearby. I stocked up the fridge with goodies from Whole Foods (5 minute drive) and spent time in a Barnes and Noble next door. Conclusion I will not hesitate staying here again. Very satisfied. read more

Stayed there in mid-December and paid $69/night. The hotel is ok nothing to write home about. Good thing they shoveled their side walks since there was ice/snow everywhere. Overall the hotel is ok, the rooms are very much date and in need for a much required update. The stove in my room was broken - good thing I didn't need to cook. The beds, tv, linens, bathrooms all need to be updated. The room I was in was quiet so that was helpful in getting a good night's sleep and no bed bugs to report. The "free" breakfast is ok - basically, eggs, sausage, toast and waffles. If you like indian food they actually served it for breakfast as well - I think this was more of a function of a large team of engineers staying here then a regular menu item. read more

Spoiler Alert!: snarky review to follow... The rooms are perfectly nice, Full kitchen, clean, basic amenities...so why two stars? 1) The internet. So many hotels have crappy internet that when it works well it's a cause celebre. But here at the Residence Inn the internet didn't work at all. After a long call to tech support where they had me clear the caches on all of my devices, restart, and basically take them apart with a fork, I finally was able to still not get on and it still didnt work. I called three more times and was blown off. Do you like having the internet? Luckily I have cell data on my iPad so I can write this review. I wish I could review their internet provider, because they don't even deserve a single star. I wasted hours on this. 2) My room key KEPT demagnetizing. This happens, and no biggie. But it happened three times in one day, necessitating that I had to walk all the way across the hotel property (set up like an apartment complex) to get new keys each time. Dragola. Get a better machine people. 3) This is likely not their fault, but we all got notes today that the water wasnt drinkable by order of the city. So you cant drink from the tap or even brush your teeth without boiling the water? I thought this was 'Murca! They need more parking, too. And the rooms could be modernized a little (but they're fine) At least the staff are nice folks, but I want stuff to work when I'm traveling. read more

Nice place, cute rooms, decent breakfast in the lobby, but don't stay on ground floor, you'll here feet above you, and you can't sleep in on Mondays, leaf blower going nuts at 8 am., he's been outside my place for an hour. Really insane. Now it's winter, and I don't understand Monday's, the leaf blower isn't needed, but from about 745 till now, 915, a vehicle is doing something and the beeping back up alarm is just non stop. I don't get it. They are rehabbing the whole property now, it's February. Gets noisy at 7:30 am so if you want to sleep in, forget it. read more

I am a frequent Residence Inn visitor. Having stayed in Residence Inns all over the country I feel very qualified to compare locations. This location was average . . . not good, not bad. The property and room was maintained. One point of disappointment was the TV. While the selection of stations was already minimal approximately 7 of the stations on the list didn't come in. In addition, all other Residence Inns provide lotion in the bathroom, this one did not. I was not prepared for that. The breakfast was on par with other locations however this location limited the hours and did not provide coffee in the lobby 24/7 as most others do. The fitness center was adequate - at least the machines worked and the tvs attached work as well. Overall, I was pleased with this location and would consider staying here again if the price was right. read more

I currently summer intern at Discover & they have a nice partnership with the residence inn. I live in a two bedroom suite with a roommate and the room is huge. Comes with nice appliances. 2 king size beds, 3 TVs, 2 desks, a kitchen table, sofas, drawers, closets, iron, ironing board. The upstairs bedroom does not have walls so you can hear the slightest noise. There is food three times a week: Sip & dip: which has artichoke dip, candy, cheese, crackers, watermelon, salads Off the grill: hotdogs, burgers, chicken, salads, juice, fruit, chips, candy Sugar Rush: s'mores (they have gourmet options as well) Once a month, a delicious local restaurant caters to the Marriot. Perks: -You can have mail sent to the hotel and simply -24 hour gym with an elliptical, weights, treadmill, scale (though a bit small, it gets the job done) -Walking distance to Jewel, Starbucks, Panera, McDonalds, Chase -- give them a shopping list before 9 and they'll get your groceries -The shuttle is very convenient and will take you anywhere within a 15 minute radius and is almost always prompt and available. I always call the shuttle after my job they always come immediately. -Staff is always very friendly and accommodating. I've lost more than 5 key cards and they always provide me a new one with a smile. -Cleaning ladies write nice notes after they clean the room -There was a problem with internet, but once I called Howard at the front desk, he quickly helped me fix everything and immediately got speedy access for the rest of the summer. -Basketball/volleybal/badminton court right next to the pool. Need a ball? The Marriot provides them -Pets allowed (there was a dog birthday party in the gatehouse in the upstairs lobby) -You may see Chicago Bulls players walk around since they practice across the street in the summer -Grill available I personally really enjoyed my stay at this residence inn in particular and they treated me very well. I stayed here for two nights. I was coming in from Kansas City and my flight arrived late. I wasn't able to check in until 11:49 PM and upon arrival I was greeted by a smiling face. My check in was quick and easy. Just as I was gathering my things to leave the lobby, the attendant asked if there was anything that he could grab for me "a bottle of water, yogurt, banana maybe, I know it's late..." I told him that a banana and a bottle of water just may save my life and so he disappeared for a second and returned with two bottles of water and a banana (with no brown spots! just the way I like!) I was impressed with the hospitality! Upon arrival into my room I was happy to find the my room key worked the first time! It's all too often I get to my room and have to return to the lobby to get a card re-programmed. My room was spotless. It was clean and equipped and had literally everything I could have needed. My stay was effortless. And their breakfast surpassed my expectations. Checkout was also a breeze! It was more than I expected for a holiday weekend, especially staying on Thanksgiving. I can only imagine that everyone would rather be home with their families, but these people are dedicated to making every guest feel at home during their stay. If I am ever back in the area, I will honestly do what I can to make sure I stay at the Residence Inn in Deerfield. Thank you so much for a fantastic holiday. We stayed here two nights in January with our dog while our floors were sanded. They were very accommodating and gave us an early check in and a late check out so we could be away from the house as long as possible. Our room was really clean even though dogs stay there. The kitchen was well equipped and the buffet breakfast was very good. The towels were large and fluffy and the shower was nice and strong. We would recommend this hotel and we would stay there again. The dog walking area is very clean and baggies are provided. My only suggestion would be to use dog friendly salt on the sidewalks in the section where dog are staying. read more

Due to very challenging circumstances we were in need of place to stay from December until April. We chose the Residence Inn because it was in the right location. We faced many challenges in Deerfield including one of the worst winters on record. The Resdience Inn staff not only cleaned the snow of the walkways and parking lot as soon as it fell but they additionally they cleaned off the cars in the parking lot . The staff was superior to anything I ever experienced even at the finest five star hotels. Whatever we requested appeared within minutes of the request. We had a health crisis that required a trip in an ambulance. The hotel not only picked us up from the emergency room but sent flowers with well wishes to our room. There were 2 bedrooms and 2 baths and additional sofa beds , for the occasional guest we had, so we had enough space to work and take care of our daughter. The kitchen worked well when we did not want to go out. They had enough pots, plates and utensils so that we could make light meals. Our room was very attractive with a comfortable sofa and comfortable chairs. The buffet breakfast offered healthy choices with lots of fresh fruit and boxes to take something back to your room if you did not want to eat in the dining room. My husband, our 3 children and I spent our Spring Break Vacation at the Residence Inn. It was perfect!! We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite that was immaculate and beautifully decorated. The staff members are friendly and helpful. The food at the breakfast buffet was fabulous. The surrounding area is quiet, very nice and upscale.
