There are many choices we could of made for an extended stay in the North Suburbs, including Airbnb homes or condos, but a friend recommended to check out The Marriott Residence Inn in Deerfield for a two week stay. I was shocked how great the price was, giving us everything we need as if we were staying in a smaller version of our home. Full kitchen with plenty of cabinets, full size refrigerator, large oven and stove, dishes, silverware, a large table for dining and plenty of counter space. There was nothing missing that prevented us from cooking 3 meals a day if we wanted. The living area had a large couch with a big screen TV in front of it that swiveled left to the bedroom area. It had a fireplace to make a fire with actual real logs. Very cozy. Most important, their was a long desk work area with all the connections for computers, chargers and plugs to spend all the time I needed there to run my business and with 2 computer screens and still enough room for my laptop to set up. So many organized connections. The bedroom area was very comfortable, with end tables and drawers on each side of the comfortable bed. The TV was set up on a large double dresser for plenty of clothes space. The bathroom and shower were very sufficient to put all our bathroom items , the shower nothing special, but served its purpose. Along side the bathroom was a nice size closet. All this was in an open format, although they have some suites with doors that divided the office area from the rest of the area, but this was fine for us. They have a pool and small gym which we was great because we had to make an appointment to work out for an hour with no one else in the gym. Very safe during the pandemic. The gym had a large drum of disinfectant wipes to wipe the equipment and your hands. We walked 50 yards to get to the gym from our suite. Perfect. They also supplied a washer and dryer in a separate area in a different building and was also very convenient. There was nothing more we needed. We did our shopping, cooked our breakfast and if we chose to , could of made lunch and dinner if we were not out at restaurants in the area. I could of stayed there much longer if needed. Never knew until this visit what they offered, but I got a lot of work done, relaxed, slept great and had fun cooking meals there as well as great private use of the gym. The cleaning service came 3 times a week. We will be using Marriott Residence in easily when we go back to see family in Chicago.

Not more than 3 stars. It's in Deerfield, so they really need to put some money into this location. Our family had three rooms for three nights. I had the 2-bedroom suite, and the others had the standard. Is it clean and will you get good night's sleep? Yes. It's old though and it shows. Carpet is way outdated worn out (keep your socks on). The windows open but have no screens? One family members room had a strong weird smell to it. It didn't bother her and her husband, but it did me. Told the front desk and they did nothing. The other family member switched rooms because of old creaking pipes. The breakfast during the week is barely passible. A little better when the weekend came. Now not to totally bash the place, the grounds are kept impeccable. I recommend a room on the back side, otherwise you will have headlights coming into your room. My perception is they cut corners after COVID, and the staff does the best with what they have to work with. I could carry on with a laundry list of these areas, but I will save it. If you're reading this wondering if it's an okay place to stay, it is just fine. You will be safe, get a good night's sleep in clean sheets, and have the breakfast in the morning to get you on your way. Lastly, do not leave anything in your room, because you will not see it again. Left two dress shirts in the closet, called and said they would call me back, but never did. Those I can easily replace. Just be careful you have all your valuables upon check out.

I love this place and wish I could live here in one of the little cottage rooms. 1) Love the bed, the little kitchenette, the whole room it is so comfortable 2) The internet works 3) Pool 4) Dog run 5) Great breakfast 6) Nice gym 7) Everyone is so nice 8) Flavored water and coffee in the gatehouse 9) Parking right in front of your room 10) Close to Carson's Ribs and Rose Bud restaurants 11) Close to the airport 12) Airport shuttle Yes can you tell I am a HUGE HUGE fan of this location. Yes and my dog loved it too!

The place is an ant farm. All over the bathroom sink and shower area. Found some on the bed. Reported it twice. Find another location

Nice hotel but it is getting old and the rates are way too high for the quality and overall condition on the rooms.

Mainly: 1) Always a suite with a living area, for more room 2) Happy hours in the evening with complimentary drinks and some snacks (chips, pretzels, etc.) 3) Breakfast is included, and it's not continental. They offer a hot food bar and an omelette station. 4) Checkout is usually noon rather than 11 am. At least at this location it is. This location also has a pool and a hot tub, which I love. Hubby and I stayed here last weekend for his birthday/Valentine's Day and we had a great time. Looking forward to another staycation as soon as possible!

The hotel is large with ample and free parking. The staff who checked me in were very nice (including the trainee) who was very friendly and confident. The room itself, although not a boutique hotel, was updated and modern enough to not feel like a generic motel. It was clean and spacious (and 2 rooms as it's an all suite hotel so there was plenty of space.) I loved that the fitness room was open 24/7 so I could get my steps in even if I got back late. I had a little bit at the included breakfast buffet (which was popping at 8 in the morning on a Saturday.) There were plenty of basic options and the coffee was serviceable. I'd definitely stay here again if I was coming back to this part of the greater Chicago area.

I usually don't leave negative reviews, but this experience honestly didn't sit right with me…read more Upon arrival, the front desk staff made us feel judged. We were dressed in sweats and cozy clothes (we're from California and not used to the cold), while others around us were dressed more formally. I understand this is considered a "nicer" hotel, but that shouldn't affect how guests are treated. What really stood out was when I asked a simple question about how long it takes to get the deposit back on a credit card. One of the front desk employees jumped in and said it depends on the card, usually 7-14 days--but then specifically mentioned that if it's a Cash App card, it would "definitely" take 14 days. The way it was said felt very assumptive and unprofessional. I work in sales/finance, so that comment didn't sit right with me. When I clarified that we were using Navy Federal, his tone immediately changed and became much more respectful. That shift alone was very telling. As for the room itself, it did not meet expectations for a hotel that presents itself as high-end. * All four cups in the room were dirty with visible residue and streaks * The bedding had multiple stains, some immediately visible and others noticeable under lighting * The couch had strange stains on it as well * When we pulled out the sofa bed, there was someone else's old medicine wrapper underneath, which made it very clear the room was not properly cleaned * One of the lamps was broken * The sink/faucet had heavy buildup and grime that looked unsanitary (as shown in the photos) The level of cleanliness was honestly unacceptable. I didn't complain during the stay since it was only one night, but it's something future guests should be aware of. The only positives were how quick check-in was and how easy it was to book (we booked through Airbnb, which may also have contributed to how we were perceived). Overall, if you're staying here: * Don't expect equal treatment based on appearance * Check EVERYTHING in your room before using it Definitely not the experience I expected from a place that markets itself as high-end.

I noticed a lot of dogs and when I got to the room, the room had a foul smell. I didn't change cuz I would be spending that much time in the room. But later in the stay I noticed it I my nasal passages when I was going to sleep and my clothes smelled of a kennel. A woman brought a dog to the buffet line with dog in one hand and a plate in the other. The wait staff stopped her still probably dropped a few dog hairs in the buffet. I will never stay here again. When I said something to the lady at Che k out she said they were only on the 3rd floor when that was a lie. I stayed on the second floor and 2 dogs were barking and crying off and on. Literally next door and accross the way. The stench in the restaurant was a mix of dirty rags and heavy chemicals, either cleaning or covering the other smells.

I got a room for a couple nights at the hotel and overall, everything is fine. The rooms are quite outdated with hues of brown decorating the furniture, bedding and decor. Not my vibe but everything worked fine in the room so no complaints but it just felt kinda old. The parking lot is a hike. Very huge parking lots and they are to the side of the actual hotel so you'll have a long walk no matter where you park. There is a drop off area though. The pool is beyond wack. Well it's not that bad but the most insane bait and switch. Check out the photo they posted on Google, then look at my photo. I was lied to! LOL! The pool was hot as a sauna which I liked but may not be for everyone. They hold tons of events, and if you aren't here staying for an event, you may not care for it. Always helped when asked and answered all questions. was able to loan an induction hot plate so I could make one-pan meals. Pan included was very small so more for eggs than full meals for two. Rooms showed some wear but no major defects. Water pressure was okay but not strong. Tv dark balance was off and remote did not allow for adjustment. TVs were 4k sets and fairly large though. Beds were a bit firm but clean. Was a rough night rest the first night but a 30 dollar mattress topper really helped. Just think of it as an unseen add-on for the stay. Not hard, but needed some cushion. Internet speed was reasonable and only disconnected once or twice a day. Worked well enough for the occasional team meeting or call. Pool was heated but not hot. Still a little chilly but if you swam a little it was easy to shake the chill. Gym was small but functional. Some dumbbells one cable machine and 5 cardio machines. Breakfast was very basic. Egg circles, breakfast breads, a couple protein options and a waffle station. Not great but good enough to get you going. It's not a bad hotel by any stretch of the imagination. It's functional and works for the average traveler. There's some maintaining that could be done, and some accommodations could be better, but if you're in the state for work it will do.
