The free breakfast bar is a step up from some places with a decent selection of pastries, toast, cereal, the make your own waffles thing, plus some kind of breakfast meat, mini omelets, fried potatoes and grits. For someone like me who drags in the morning, it's a great thing. However, one of our group needs a gluten free diet. There were some things she could eat, but a staff person believed the waffle batter was gluten free when it almost certainly wasn't. The coffee in the lobby is good and includes dark roast , light roast, and decaf options The location is quiet enough and the free parking is nice. Most important for us is that it's close to Credit Union 1 Amphitheater. I even saw some people making the journey on foot! At 2 plus miles, it's doable but maybe not great for us older folks! Anyhow, it's a very short easy trip by car or by rideshare.

The area was decent and I never felt like my family it I were ever in danger. Lots of homeless people coming in the side door and using the bathroom and helping themselves to breakfast though lol. One thing I did think was weird was the 2nd elevator that went down to the parking garage directly and a room key wasn't needed until after 9pm to use it. Anyone off the street could have come right up in the building. Weird... The property was overall kind of dirty and run down. Beds were comfortable, tv was good. Hair in the bath tub. The AC was set at 75 when we got there and it was very stuffy and musty. We set the AC down to 65, out our stuff down and headed out to dinner. Came back an hour and 20 mins later and it was only down to 74. Few hours later it finally got to 68. Stains all over the walls. Grimy. Water pressure was maybe the worst I've ever experienced and I stay at a hotel 40-50 nights a year, but just recently used all my points on another family trip last month. Figured I'd try Expedia and BW. Learned my lesson!

We've stayed here three times in the past year, and we're generally happy with our experiences thus far. This is no Hyatt or Ritz and so we set our expectations appropriately; nevertheless there is some room for improvement. What's good: - Free parking! Woo-hoo! I once stayed at the nearby Hyatt Place hotel on 53rd and I think I paid $40 a night to park. There is a small covered parking area, but it fills up by the early evening. There is plenty of outdoor parking. - Location. It is just off Lake Shore Drive, so getting into the city is pretty easy. Some rooms have a view of the lake, which is nice, but since you're also facing LSD the traffic noise can be bothersome. It's just a short walk to the lakefront and Promontory Point, which makes for a pleasant stroll. It's reasonably close to the University of Chicago, but it's probably farther than most people would prefer to walk. The Museum of Science and Industry is about a mile away and is an easy walk if you're up for it. - The rooms were fairly bright during the day, thanks for the large windows in our room. At night the lighting was better than average. The beds were comfortable (a little firmer than I'd like) and the pillows were soft, but small. There is a coffee machine and a mini-fridge, but no in-room safe. - Staff was mostly friendly and accommodating. Housekeeping was efficient and thorough. - Air conditioning worked well, but was a bit on the noisy side. However, the drone of the AC at night helped drown out the traffic noise too. - The quality of the free breakfast was pretty decent. - Self-serve coffee machine in the lobby makes mochas, cappuccinos, lattes, etc. any time of the day. What could be better: - The entrance to the hotel isn't actually marked, and since there is another hotel attached to this one, it's confusing as to where to go to check in. The first time I came here I drove right past the entrance because I couldn't tell where to go. - The breakfast area is small and gets crowded during peak hours. For the number of guests that can be there, especially on weekends, they often had trouble keeping food items in stock, and the line for the pancake machine was long. The one woman who was hustling around was remarkably cheerful though - props to her for keeping her cool while working under such stressful conditions. - There's not enough seating for breakfast. Many people were awkwardly sitting in the lounge chairs and benches because there were no tables available. - The alarm is some kind of special hotel clock that doesn't allow anyone to adjust the time, only the alarm time. It supposed to sync with some kind of atomic clock server to display the correct time, but it clearly wasn't working as it was off by over 10 minutes. Kind of annoying, and we eventually unplugged it since it was basically useless. - The exercise room had a funky odor, almost like burning rubber. Lighting was poor. The water dispenser wasn't working, and the strength training machine did not have several of the attachments necessary to actually use it. - The bathroom is a little small, and the water pressure through the shower head was somewhat weak. During a heavy rainstorm there was a lot of gurgling coming from the bathtub and toilet, and we worried that something was going to start backing up. This was a little unexpected since we were on the second floor when this happened. So not spectacular but not bad either. For the value, it is definitely a good place to stay.

Parking is in the basement entering from 52nd St and is $40/day with in and out privileges. You use your hotel key to enter and leave so security is good. This is needed because parking is a problem in this area. Checkout is 12 noon but we got late checkout at 1pm. Overall very clean and comfortable.

It was less than $200 and the suite was pretty large (see photos), the kitchen had everything you need, there were 2 tvs one in living room and one in bedroom. Bathroom was huge (see photo). Very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was complete with hot food, although both mornings we were there, small complaint, only sausage no bacon. The people of course very friendly and they kept all the food stocked. The fitness room was pretty good for a hotel, not like the Marriott Marquis but still more than adequate. Also attached to the fitness room is a laundry room and it says it is free. You need your own detergent but that seems like a good deal. All in all very good experience.

The cleaning staff were also very pleasant and friendly. Overall, my experience was very positive. This is a clean establishment with very friendly staff. I also appreciate the fact that the doors are locked at 1 AM so there are no random walk-ins. If you need a nice hotel this is a good spot and very affordable. Also a plus was the bottle of wine that I was able to purchase, which was great because I needed a little something to help me fall asleep. also let me not forget that the air conditioning in the room worked perfect. First, let me say the staff were nice, but in the end, they messed up my billing. This hotel offers complimentary breakfast, amongst other things. If I remember correctly, quite hours begin at 10:00pm, and let me just say, they don't do anything about it. All night long, jumping, yelling, and running. When I called the front desk to report this, they just said, "We have a lot of kids here," but didn't do anything about it. We had to suffer through this for two nights. That was strike one. Strike two began when my card was charged. Let's go back to the beginning. On my two-hour drive, I called the hotel to update my credit card information, and when I checked in, I also updated this information. My card was swiped. When I checked out, I noticed my room charges were on the credit card I didn't want to use. There wasn't a manager to assist, so I called the hotel two days in a row, left messages, and, of course, here we are in December (5 months later), and my issue was never addressed. I don't like bad customer service, and I don't like feeling overlooked. Some managers don't do their due diligence by following up, and it shows. Let me say, they actually charged me before I arrived, so I called to change my cc information. The manager I spoke to at the time told me it wouldn't be a problem and that she would take care of it. 7/19/25-7/27/25 1st…read moretime at a Hyatt branded hotel. This was a great start, this hotel was new, clean and service was excellent. It's near the Chicago Midway airport. It a walled in section that is surrounded by hotels of every brand. This means there are a lot of pilots and flight crew staying overnight. The king room 603 at the end of the hall, was large. You enter the room and see the closet, sofa and desk and you wonder where is the bed was LOL. Turn right is the vanity sink and the toilet and shower is further in behind a door. Then you go around the small partition wall and the King bed is waiting for you. Very comfortable bed. I usually have trouble sleeping in hotel beds but not this one! As this is a corner room there is 2 windows looking out to the other hotel and more parking. The shower was pretty spacious. There is a fairly large gym, and pool but no hot tub. The business center is in a open space right behind the registration desk and has 2 computers and a printer. Unlike other hotels were you need to use your keycard to enter. Unfortunately this also means the kids are down there playing computer games lol Speaking of kids, there was an unusually large amount of kids of different ages and usually only staying a day or two. Turns out there is a sports center nearby where the traveling sports teams come to compete. Our corner room, even with all the kids running back and forth, and the layout of the room meant it was very quiet in our room. :) Breakfast is included if you are a rewards member otherwise you can purchase. Hot buffet style and it was pretty good. The hot foods were: Eggs, bacon, sausage, french toast stick and frittatas. Definitely recommend this hotel.
