Great location about five blocks from the Santa Monica pier. It's very modern, but the area is pretty noisy. Luckily, that did not bother me. Love that they recognize my titanium status and I was upgraded to a studio suite with two queen beds. It was a much bigger room with a balcony, seating area at a bar area. Staff was very friendly. Valet parking is the only option and is pretty pricey though. It was $60 a night plus tax so came up to be $70. There is a Trader Joe's and target within walking distance so that makes it nice to get some essentials without paying a lot of money at the hotel lobby be market.

We came down to the greater Los Angeles area with some friends over New Year's and decided we wanted to stay in a spot where we had easy access to the water, as well as easy access to downtown and other areas of LA. This courtyard was a great spot for all of them! Situated just off the freeway, it was easy to get to, relatively easy to get in and out of and very comfortable. The staff are very friendly, welcoming, and even the security guards were fun to get to know over the six days that we were there. We had two families with a total of five kids, there, and by the end everybody was saying hello, goodbye, and generally Making the place very warm. The parking situation is similar to most other big cities. It's relatively expensive to park here, and while it is cheaper in parking garage, that are adjacent, we often found it was just better to park here, especially on days where we came and went. You can come and go as many times as you like for the 24 hour fee, which differed for any of the other parking lots where are you paid each time you came in or out. It took a little bit of extra planning, but we parked here a few nights and elsewhere a couple of nights as well. We were coming at a popular time of year, so they definitely weren't giving the rooms away. We have five in our crew, so we had to get a larger suite. Really the only first world type problem that we experienced was that the suite was just an elongated room. We were able to get a rollaway bed in there easily, but having a bit more space would've been nice. Again, certainly not the end of the world and some thing that was pretty easy to remedy. It would, however, make it tough for a family that has more than five in it. they had a café downstairs that served pretty standard coffee, shop food and beverage. They also have the small market place where you can grab snacks throughout the day. The hotel is in proximity to just about everything we were interested in. We were about a 10 to 15 minute walk from the pier, a quick walk from tons of restaurants and shopping, and the freeway was just a few blocks away so it was easy to get away to the bigger attractions in the area. For those over the age of 40, we were also able to walk along Santa Monica Blvd. and reminisce about Sheryl Crow and the days of yesteryear! We had some issues with some folks upstairs from us, dribbling a basketball at all hours, and Hotel was able to help us get the situation figured out. All in all, a very pleasant stay in a lovely hotel in a great location!

The location is great: 3 blocks to the pier and 3rd Street Promenade. Restaurants, bars, metro train, Target and Trader Joe's are steps away. As Ambassador Elite, we were upgraded to a king suite with dining table and was given a 3pm check-out. There's no breakfast in this property but we were given $10 vouchers for the cafe in the lobby selling $9 yogurt and $7 muffins. There's a microwave and fridge in the room but no plates nor silverware. Parking is $50/night (valet only) with in/out privilege. $93 is the fine if you get a parking ticket. Thank you Tasha for your friendly service even if you were solo on a Saturday afternoon helping a long line of impatient guests waiting to check in.

I just submitted my feedback directly to Marriott and am now ready to review. I booked this for my husband's birthday trip, and upgraded us to a suite with a corner view of the ocean. The website neglected to show pictures of or mention that this suite overlooks the end of the light rail, which meant all night we heard the jingle and then announcement "this train is out of service" literally every few minutes. And given the presence of the light rail, there are a lot of homeless around the hotel, and some crazy people making noise all night. The hotel knows this- so they put a white noise machine in our room and a little "r&r" bag with tea and an eye mask. Two sleepless nights is what we got for $760 (this includes the $55 parking fee- shoutout to the awesome valets though). The entire staff was friendly- my complaint is not to them (corporate needs to address this) or about them. We won't stay here again. A few additional notes- you can see accurate room views online, the patio view is misleading as it's pointed away from the actual train station view. The water pressure was non existent in the shower, which also had a crack in the side of it.

Great location about 4 blocks from the water. Beware it is right next to the bus station, so this is not somewhere you want to walk at night time. I booked online, and the King Rooms were no longer available. No big deal... This is a newer location. The thing with the newer locations that I have had an issue with it the water pressure and the hot water. I had no hot water ;-/ I did the sink and shower trick. The other thing is there were gnats... over 10+ they were mainly in the bathroom. No view - well a view of the apartment next to us and their TV with soccer on it. Valet (paid) Parking is available. The cafe in the front was great. A banana and a Carmel Macchiato for the win. And the lady serving was fabulous!

Enjoyable on all but one issue. The coffee shop which serves Starbucks drinks and acceptably isn't actually a satellite caffeine addicts charging port. More particularly, the hours open and the hours required for my personal needs only intersect for a few minutes around sunrise and apparently before lunch hour. Yesterday I was able to replenish my blood to caffeine ratio during the hours open for business. Today wasn't the case. I though I arrived at approximately 1:45, according to my iPads clock. But awhile later, when I returned to my room trying to figure out where I might score, my phone told me it was 11:50something. The iPad seemingly is still back in Wisconsin, neurologically, while physically practically in the Pacific Ocean. Which furthered my pounding head screaming for that legal speed extracted from baked green seeds we mostly all rely on to venture into yet another day of whatever journeys we race the rats. That completes my tirade about this actually darn cool hotel! The room has a nifty image of Debby Harry which greets the guest just around the corner from the entry. *A spacious and modern glass walled shower to clean up as often as desired. * Super cool electric motor driven blackout shades for all the windows! * Swell mid century modern styled furnishings! * A very cozy King sized bed, though I was expecting two Kings or at least Queens. Leaving the not so appealing couch for my 6' tall son to sleep on and a requested cot to be dragged up for Nicole. Which instead, because she's epileptic and was recovered from her seizure which triggered on the flight in, meant I was subjected to the porta bed. At least it was cozy and I was able to move it to the AC airflow. The pool and it's surrounding features were very cool and a long fire table was located just adjacent to this 2floor rooftop region. Another nicety was the large exercise gym which I didn't utilize, but it looked to be spacious and modern. Valet only parking was an inconvenience in my mind. I like to be able to just have an idea pop into my head and act on it. Instead I had to wait for the car to be found and returned, as well as constantly track down a few $1 per trip. Not unnoticed when I also observed gasoline is +$7/gal in this area! So I actually only drove to Malibu a couple times to just be able see anything aside from countless homelessness cluttering literally every sidewalk in this hugely wealthy city!

Great location courtyard in the heart of Santa Monica. We were able to walk a lot and find places to eat nearby, go to the beach or order Uber for a quick ride to Venice beach. The lobby feel like a bit boutique hotel. We were offered to be upgraded to a bigger room but found our room sufficient and roomy enough for our stay. Stuff was friendly. Overall we had a very nice stay and definitely would come back.

Awful bedding. I realized I had the comforter directly on me... without ANY sheets or duvet in the middle of the night.

The tub is the highlight. One comment would be that when we checked in with Anthony, who was so sweet to our toddler, also kept telling us we were getting upgraded to a very nice room. We got all excited. It was a normal room. The "very nice upgrade" just meant that we were on floor 5. I barely call that an upgrade but ok. - we asked for a crib, and we go a nice crib with a cute little baby soap kit from noodle and boo- very nice touch. And baby robes for the kids- my toddler loved it. My toddler was on a rollaway bed and they were super accommodating about it- great experience on that front. - balconies are tiny and I never saw anyone out when I sat out - pool staff was super nice. It was a chilly weekend and the pool could have been warmer (I couldn't get in, but I really don't like cold water). - the beach chairs are also very nice and we were surprised to find them available - they were extremely pleasant about our friends visiting us every day! - the lobby waiter during the day was almost inexistant. We had to go to the bar to ask for drinks. The woman at night was great. Now for the food...: - coast has a great breakfast, the lemon ricotta pancakes are excellent (though stupid expensive for pancakes) - pico is a good spot for shrimp cocktail and calamari. Hasn't seen shrimps that big in a long time. - overall the food was good everywhere but way overpriced.... The kids menu are ridiculous... hard to justify spending $28 on kids pancakes. That being said, the portions were the same as adult portions... maybe make the portions smaller, and price more accessible? Overall we had a great stay, and while on the expensive side, we agreed we would come back. Nicely done!

I had never been admitted to the hospital before in my life. I am a Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, so I lived a very healthy lifestyle, working out frequently, clean diet. I was supposed to join LAXPD that year. I already finished testing. This has, clearly, been put on hold. Edward was the one who did not get back to me. I emailed corporate and his personal email. Even though it was only about a mile and a half away, the traffic made it take 15 minutes each way to get to the hospital. This time, being so close made everything so much easier during a stressful few days when I was going back and forth constantly. The property itself was clean, quiet, and very comfortable. It was also incredibly convenient to have Tartine right across the street for coffee, breakfast, and quick refreshments. The great thing about the suite setup is that the living room with a pull out couch is separated by a door to the bedroom; you could watch TV in one room and not bother the people in the other room. The TVs in each room were oversized and there was a decent sized mini fridge (Target and Trader Joes are just down the street - hello wine and beer!) The walls were thick, as was the main door and hotel noise and street noise was minimal. They have a pool on the 3rd floor that doubles as the covered drop off/entrance area and it was very nice. The most comfortable pillows I have ever slept on! The beds were solid too. What else? You're a couple of blocks from the Santa Monica Pier and Beach. You're within an 8 minute walk to McDonald's for breakfast (cheaper than the hotel buffet!) and your about a 10 minute walk to the 3rd St Promenade. The Fairmont Miramar absolutely did not disappoint. The service exceeded my expectations from the moment we arrived until we left. As a mom traveling alone with three young kids, the little things matter--and the staff seemed to anticipate what I needed before I even asked. The moment we pulled into valet, they unloaded my vehicle, directed me to check-in, and promptly brought our luggage to our room. Shortly after settling in, housekeeping unexpectedly knocked just to ask if I'd like fresh ice. During our stay, they also brought a refrigerator and microwave to our room and even delivered my grocery and Target orders upstairs while we were sightseeing. What made our stay especially memorable was how genuinely kind the staff were to my children. Victor went above and beyond. He made sweet conversation with my kids and made them feel seen rather than like children simply tagging along at a nice hotel. He invited them to feed the koi fish each morning, which they loved. My six-year-old had brought a little fishing net and was dying to catch a fish. I had already warned him the answer would almost certainly be no, but let him lightheartedly ask Victor anyway--just in case there was some magical chance he'd say yes. Victor laughed and said he'd be right back. He returned with three adorable koi-fish squish toys, tossed them into my son's fishing net and told him they were "kind of like fish" and to share them with his brother and sister. It was such a small gesture, but it made his day. Those are the moments kids remember. The service at the pool was equally wonderful. The gentleman working there wouldn't let me lift a finger. He removed used towels and the lounge-chair cover, replaced everything with fresh linens, and laid out a clean towel for me while my kids jumped into the pool. One night my oldest became sick in bed. Embarrassed and unsure how they wanted me to handle the cleanup, I called the front desk. I had already stripped the bed to protect the mattress, but within moments a gentleman came upstairs, took the soiled bedding and told me not to worry--he would take care of it. He quickly returned with cleaning supplies, fresh bedding and pillows. I repeatedly offered to clean it myself or at least help, but he graciously refused. He cleaned everything and even completely remade the bed for me. I believe his name was Martin. It was late and I was half asleep, but I truly hope I remembered correctly because he deserves the recognition. As a mom, I'm usually the person taking care of everyone else. Having someone step in during an exhausting middle-of-the-night parenting moment and essentially say, "I've got this," meant more than he probably realized. On our final morning, I asked Victor for extra ice to keep our cold food chilled for the drive home. Instead of simply giving me a bucket, he prepared three vacuum-sealed bags of ice to use as ice packs. That level of thoughtfulness sums up our entire stay. The property itself is beautiful. I've seen reviews describing the rooms as somewhat dated, and I can understand what they mean, but it honestly wasn't anything worth complaining about. Our room was clean and surprisingly spacious--we had plenty of room for the four of us. The grounds are beautiful and have a charming, smaller resort-style feel. The onsite coffee shop had good, reasonably priced coffee, and there are several other amenities and dining options onsite. Saturday evening a pianist played in the lively lobby. My children never felt unwelcome, but we didn't linger out of consideration for the adults enjoying their evening. For families: The hotel is a bit of a walk from the Santa Monica Pier, but definitely doable. I did it with a 7, 6 and 4-year-old. We also rode scooters to the mall and Cheesecake Factory. If your priority is spending all day at the beach and walking directly from your hotel onto the sand, this may not be the most convenient choice. Beach access involves crossing over the busy highway or taking several stairs. However, it's a very short and easy drive to public beach parking. There are hotels closer to the pier and beach, but I do not regret choosing the Fairmont Miramar for a second. This hotel is pricey, but it was worth every dime. What I paid for wasn't simply a beautiful property or room--it was the service. They made vacationing alone with three young children genuinely easier, and as a mom, I appreciated that tremendously. We had a fabulous, memorable weekend, and the Fairmont was a huge part of what made it special. I would stay here again and again and wholeheartedly recommend it. The staff exceeded my expectations at nearly every turn, and I left feeling incredibly well cared for. Five stars, without hesitation.

FABULOUS VIEWS AND CENTRAL LOCATION…read more Trying to find the entrance to the hotel was a bit challenging. Given the actual address is Wilshire, I parked at a meter on that street; the entrance, however is half way down 7th street. The gothic hallways and dim lighting made me feel like I was entering a cool church. I was headed to an event at Calabra, which is on the roof. This place is a bit of a maze, and I never saw an employee here until I made it to the roof. En route to the elevator, I stumbled into a lounge area for the guests, which had a spread of Counter Culture coffee and some little muffins. Once I found the elevator, it took awhile for it to actually arrive. One of the guests, who was there to attend a wedding, mentioned it had been slow the day before, too. Once I reached the roof, I was blown away by the beautiful views and the rooftop pool. Then, I headed to Calabra, to check in for a Story Walk. It was a light and breezy room with all kinds of seating options. Plus, there were plenty of places to sit on the patio. During our walk, which took us seven blocks to Palisades Park with a view of the ocean, I realized what a great location this is for visitors. There are all kinds of restaurant and shopping options nearby, and who doesn't love to see the Pacific If you're adventuresome, you can walk to Santa Monica Pier. After our hour-long walk, a super healthy breakfast buffet was set up in Calabra. Service was prompt and attentive. Fresh fruit platters, a healthy green juice and some kind of oat/date bar properly hit the spot that morning. Overall, I loved the rooftop setting, the dungeon vibe of the common interiors, and the guest lounge. Now, I need to have a Proper stay!

The view was immaculate, and the food was outstanding! After the rooftop closed we went to the lobby to finish the night off . That area was a vibe of its own, tons of swanky seating arrangements that helped end the night perfectly.
