I've honestly never felt more disrespected at a hotel bar in my life. Our group came in expecting a normal night out, but things went sideways almost immediately. One person in our group let out a single curse word during a casual conversation, not directed at staff, not aggressive, just a word, and somehow that was enough for the staff to refuse service to our entire group. No warning, no attempt to address it politely, just a flat-out refusal. Completely over the top and unprofessional. What made it worse? They then turned around and selectively served ONE person from our group, which made zero sense given they had just "refused service" to all of us. To add insult to injury, they ended up charging her for multiple items she never even received. So let me get this straight, you refuse service over something minor and then proceed to overcharge a guest? That's not just bad service, that's ridiculous. Between the inconsistency, the attitude, and the billing issues, this place clearly has no idea how to treat customers. Plenty of better spots out there, save yourself the frustration and go anywhere else. read more

The Georgian is an experience and one that begins and ends with the amazing concierge-bellman named Preston. He is dressed impeccable and is and was the anchor of this entire experience. He prepared the room for us and checked in on us and would always have something very kind and well curated to say to us and welcome us each and every time we saw him. Our Ocean view room was room 604 and sheer perfection from decor that harkens from the South Of France to the color palette of the furniture which is a blend of deco ocean and Positano, Italy. The view are unobstructed and the bedding, pillows and towels the highest in thread count and quality. We slept deeply and loved having the ocean sounds and breezes when we wanted them within our room. Sienna the lobby bar is commanding and as the night becomes more romantic this bar matches its high volume high impact needs. Both David and Sovanna nailed this demand as we saw this bar go from easy breezy to a packed Saturday night experience. Under this fantastic hotel is none other than The Georgian Room with the kind and smart hostess named Brittney, whose energy set the tone for our spectacular birthday dinner. Beef TareTare, champagne and Pasta was devoured all within the syncopated rhythm of live jazz as the night progressed. Jonas was wonderfully attentive and handled this New York-esque Hot Spot with ease and awareness. Because this speakeasy Georgian Room is like a Manhattan night hidden beneath a SouthBeach Art Deco boutique hotel by the sea. Leave it to LA to blend these entities and made it all work successfully. They have two very special spaces for guest - a library where one can cozy up to a book and a cup of coffee and a wonderfully curated art gallery where the art is for sale and oh so tempting to buy. We loved our stay here and as expected the check in and check out process was made wonderfully because of Preston and I'm excited to return where hopefully he is working. We had such a great time. People working here were awesome, Amanda, Phil and Preston, to name a few. The lobby bar was inviting and had tasty drinks. Breakfast outside in the sunshine was surreal in January, perfect weather. We rode the train from OC and then the subway to the hotel. We've never had a meal here, but we love the ambiance so much that whenever we are strolling on Ocean Ave, we usually decide to make a pitstop. Had a wonderful 1 night stay over the weekend. I enjoyed the welcome drink at check in. The options were prosecco, wine, or water. The main attraction for this hotel is the location! In a few minutes you could be at the pier or 3rd street promenade. I was told if we waited a few hours extra, we would be upgraded to a better view. We are globalist and we're using a fnc. The food was decent, but the front-of-house experience was disappointing. When we arrived with a stroller, the host at the front door clearly watched my husband struggle to carry the stroller up the steps but never mentioned that there is actually a stroller-accessible entrance on the side. Only when we were leaving did another staff member kindly let us know about the side entrance. Had we been informed earlier, this unnecessary effort could have been avoided. This feels like an easy fix -- better awareness and communication would make a big difference for families with strollers. read more

I had a really frustrating experience dealing with the catering manager, Angel. We visited the venue on Sunday to explore options for a small event, and while Angel wasn't there, the staff on-site were actually helpful and walked us through a few setups. I left all my contact information expecting a follow-up. When I got home, I emailed her directly--no response. The next day, I went back in person and was told she was on-site but in meetings. I again left my name and number and specifically asked for a call back. Nothing. No email, no call, no acknowledgment whatsoever. It's honestly shocking how unprofessional this is, especially when you're trying to bring business to them. Basic communication shouldn't be this difficult. If someone in that role can't follow up with a potential client after multiple attempts, it really makes you question how events are managed there overall. Really disappointing experience. read more

This SHOULD have been four stars, but ... The place is cute as all get out. Someone really indulged their creativity here, and it's a lovely updated art deco. The staff was super friendly and I got a cheap upgrade to a suite, which had an ocean view, a record player (and cool records), and a FULL bar with a set of intercom buttons where you could request champagne and dessert, etc. It was quite a beautiful and quirky experience. The lobby restaurant Sirena was very good as well. I highly recommend making a reservation so you can sit outside. I had to sit inside, which wasn't a trial or anything, but watching the sunset would've been nice. So far so good. Except that the intercom buttons either didn't work, or the staff wasn't monitoring them. I did call down an hour after I'd pushed a button and got apologies but no clear answer, plus a slight indication that the button HAD gone through but no one had seen it. Also, no offer to send someone up. Worse, my shower didn't get any hot water. I called down and they said they'd send up "an engineer," but an hour and a half later, when I called again, they had to ask ME if anyone had been sent. So I went without a shower. Overall, I got the impression that the staff hadn't quite gotten their sh*t together yet, and that everything was new. I'd still recommend it, but I also recommend being pushy about your needs and calling down often. read more

This is a superb small boutique hotel with an excellent restaurant excellent food and excellent service. There is also a speakeasy steakhouse located on the lower level but you need reservations at least a couple weeks in advance so I've never been able to get there. However, the smaller dining room near the bar is excellent as is the outdoor area. The service is absolutely superb from the hostesses to the bus boys to the waiters and waitresses. I come here very often and I've never had a negative experience. It is always excellent. If you don't like to pay for valet, parking, parking is problematic. The menu is moderately priced especially for Los Angeles. For two people you're going to spend $60 for breakfast and probably about $175 for dinner if you don't have appetizers so be prepared for that but if any place it's well worth it. read more

I just had THE MOST incredible experience at the (street level) restaurant at The Georgian hotel! I have admired the building and aesthetic for yeeeears, but had never gone in. I figured it was just a standard hotel restaurant. I was wrong, this was magical. First of all, if you're a fan of 1930s design like I am, just sitting down and looking around is a treat. Then there's the gorgeous ocean view. The food was anything but standard, it was honestly one of the top 5 meals I've had in my life. The texture, the flavor, the attention to detail all top level, wow! And last, but definitely not least, the people who work there are so so so amazing. Amazing Service. "Preston" is the most thoughtful person we have ever met. From helping with the stroller up the stairs to even giving my daughter a teddy bear dressed in same uniform. He called the bear his mini me. This was the most thoughtful thing anyone has ever done. We originally tried to book the hotel a few nights before but it was unavailable. We did still get nearby and used the Valet at the Georgian, that's how all this amazing experience started. Next the security personnel was amazing as well she engaged in conversation with my daughters and was in aw of our beautiful daughters. She even took my girls to the candy salt water taffy and let them pick as many as they wanted. My girls got 2 each. And all really good flavors. When I asked, the waitress played dumb and said their menu prices haven't been updated to match their system. Had an amazing 2 night stay at the Georgian. We're somewhat local (Pasadena area) and thus we don't live anywhere near the beach and really needed a break from "real life" after a stressful stretch. We got a suite overlooking the ocean, gorgeously appointed in soft blues and golds. The decor is chic but cozy bohemian, all ensconced in a gorgeous deco landmark built in the 30's. The Georgian Room restaurant (a former speakeasy) was the perfect escape for a romantic dinner - we felt like we were far far away from our reality in the best way. Service was exceptional, and live jazz piano made it feel particularly special an timeless. The hotel's staff is friendly and enthusiastic, as if they actually enjoy being there, which seems oddly rare these days. We chatted with the manager, Phil, who made us feel like VIPs while had lunch in the lobby. It's only a short walk to several amazing restaurants and of course, the beach, the Santa Monica pier, 3rd street promenade. Etc, etc. Never once thought about getting in our car to do anything until the day we left. Look forward to going again... soon. read more

They have live music a few nights a week, and the food is a little pricey but pretty good. Great stop in Santa Monica!
