You can smell the Belgian waffles from stores away, which is why we were drawn to come back here after dinner! We shared a Nutella waffle with strawberries, scoop of vanilla ice cream and brownie bites. The waffle was okay... tasted like it was preheated. Workers are nice but the place could use an update or a clean up. Menu is pricey too.

I love a good milkshake so Cousteau's has been on my list of places to visit for years. We went there just before noon on a Saturday and we were the only people in the store. It took a while for us to be acknowledged by the employee in the back. She finally came out holding cleaning supplies to take our order. We ordered the Deep Search and air Kentucky milkshakes. Both were delicious and very rich! We had to take a little break as we were drinking them. But, as a chocolate lover, I thoroughly enjoyed having chocolate on chocolate on chocolate with chocolate ice cream, chocolate sauce, and brownies. I will say the price is for perhaps a little high at nearly $8 per milkshake and it would've been nice for the customer service to be a bit better and swifter with only two customers in the store.

Since I stopped for Popsicles down the street my fiancé wanted to stop for Belgian waffles across the street. I absolutely love Cousteau's and I think it has become my favorite thing in Saint Augustine. So the Belgian waffle and hand spun milkshake shop it's called Cousteau's it is right across the street from hippo Popsicles. The inside is very small I think there's only around 11 stools seats with a high top bar. The inside has decorations of Marin submarine pictures as well as a framed poster of Jack Cousteau's underwater movie. They have a large menu with all of the hand spun milkshake flavors as well as the food options. I unfortunately was not be able to get anything because everything here has dairy egg or possibly cross-contamination. If you haven't been here on your trip to Saint Augustine I definitely recommend it. Most of the waffles are around eight dollars to nine dollars depending on what you're getting; and the milk shakes are around seven dollars to nine dollars. 10/10 I will say the girl at the counter she was the only one working there at the moment she was outstanding she was funny she was kind she was sweet and she was just well on our anniversary.

A Small shop that you could miss if you were walking down the main strip of St. George in Saint Augustine. The shop is a very quaint little shop a little bit off the beaten path but not too far. The service was top-notch and the staff was very happy go lucky. Super friendly and happy to tell you about the name of the shop and why they called it that Now, could've been that it was really hot that day, but that shake was out of this world. Major thank you !!!

The restaurant next to our hotel was packed and we walked out after a half hour wait for cereal ( honestly the food wasn't that great the previous morning) and set off walking to find somewhere that our picky 5 year old would eat at. We stumbled upon this small gem and we are so glad we did. We had delicious made to order waffles by Alexis, who despite losing her voice happily customized mine selection. The 5 year old was over the moon and ate all of his waffles with coconut ice cream, his choice and the first time ever had it. This would've been five stars if they had a bathroom. This is a place you don't want to miss.

Cousteau's is a must! I loved the tiny little shop feel of this location! The girl behind the counter was so sweet and made some amazing shakes! My daughter who is obsessed with peppermint, love the holiday north polepermint special and the steviesie was also super yummy, the chocolate chips in the dough were a little dark for me, but that's just my opinion! The shakes are super creamie and flavorful at a good price point! After hanging out for a bit and looking around at all the pictures of and about Jacques Cousteau, I wish they put more historical information up and how this waffle shake company started! The 10% discount for wearing a red beanie is a super cute touch and ironically my tiny human had her red hat on! The kids loved their shakes so much we had to go to the other location the next day when we saw it on our adventures. Definitely recommend!

My husband thought this was a breakfast spot so he was excited to try it. We came to find out it isn't, its more of a sweet treat spot. They have waffles, ice cream and milkshakes. So our breakfast was waffles with ice cream. The serving for me was enough not to much not to little. There was only one worker and the poor girl was ringing everyone up and then going in the back to make each order. The wait wasn't long because she was pretty fast, but still I felt so bad for her. The waffle was delicious and we really enjoyed it. I definitely recommend it either for breakfast or a treat.

This is always a treat whenever we go to downtown Saint Augustine. There are some of the best waffles around always fresh and taste delicious and is an awesome treat. The service is very good they are very friendly. This is certainly a must when you go downtown.

Service are good. We sat outside in the courtyard just for paying patrons. The waffles were really good and unique. And they were not to sweet.

Cousteau's is awesome. Period. Belgian liege waffles loaded with toppings, and creatively delicious milkshakes in this adorable little shop, inspired by The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou. I am also thrilled that they have opened a new location in St. Augustine Beach, although this visit was to the original Old Town location. Servings are large enough to share, but no judgment if you want your order all to yourself. Great service, charming decor, and yummy flavors. Dessert is always perfect at Cousteau's.

So yummy!! Cute little shop & location with indoor and outdoor seating. The worker was so patient with us and also played along while we were doing a scavenger hunt for a bachelorette. The waffles were a perfect size. Plenty of toppings and fairly priced. Would come back again!

Inside- small, stools around the edge and a small area outside as well

Small little spot hidden on a side street. I've been here before, and the shakes are very good.- fresh ingredients it seems. Giving them 4 stars as while good, not sure some of them are worth close to $8 a piece- def higher based on location. We had 4 shakes this time for 5 of us. 1- Electric Jellyfish (blueberry), always a fave. Fresh and light flavor with while blueberries. $7 1- Ping Island (chocolate s'more with peanut butter), rich and good. $8 2- Deep Search (chocolate, brownies, and Oreo crumbs), rich but not thick. Good flavor. $8 each Never tried the waffles- they look good, but lean towards the shakes. Def something different to try.

one of the special waffles. strawberries, nutella, and whipped cream.

did i pay $7 for 1 waffle.. yes i did and it was the best waffle i ever had. The women working there always was very kind and made sure i git any help, if needed. The place itself is cutesy. there is a side outdoors spot where you can sit and cute bars inside. I wanted to give 4 stars because it was $7 for a singular waffle but honestly i don't regret it :)

For our visit this time they said about a 30 minute wait which was actually 20 minutes. The vibe of the place is very cool with the old jukebox and a bar as well as tables both inside and outside. We were seated outside this visit which was fine as it was shady. I had the corned beef has with hash browns and 2 sunny side eggs. The corned beef is full of shredded corned beef with just a small amount of potatoes. The hash browns with onions were nice and crispy as I asked and the eggs were cooked nicely with the right amount of run when broken. My wife has the Classic Breakfast which is somewhat similar to what I had but with no meat. Hers was done nicely too. Thanks for a nice visit and see you the next time we're back to St. Augustine Beach!

The bad: the food was ice cold, there doesn't seem to be air conditioning in the restaurant, and if you ask for scrambled eggs - you'll be served with egg beaters versus fresh eggs. The corned beef hash - not worth the $8 upcharge when it's cold and the fat has congealed

Gaufre's & Goods is tucked away down a back street so if you're not looking for it you most likely will miss it. We came in for a late lunch but were not looking for something super heavy so this was perfect. I started off with a Hevelius Kaper Beer which I really enjoyed. They also had a lot of other Greek and Polish beers that I had never heard of so you gotta try one. For my entree I originally was going to go with the Gyro but then I saw that they have Goulash which I very much enjoy but rarely can find it. Our food came out pretty quickly and I was give a large bowl of Goulash as well as some fresh bread. Ashley of course went with a Mix of Pierogies and added bacon & onions to it. My Goulash was very flavor and dipping the bread in the broth was great. I will say it was thinner then other Goulash's I have had. This was more of a broth base where I enjoy a bit of a thicker stew type. Still something I would recommend getting especially with the limited option we have in the area and this will hit the spot. Ashley also did get a order of Blackberry Pierogies that I never got to try since she ran off with it after we got back to where we were staying. This is for sure a great family restaurant you have to check out.

The service showed a real lack of knowledge and attentiveness. When I ordered whole milk for my coffee, the response was essentially "is half and half okay?" -- no, it is absolutely not okay. These are completely different in taste and calories, and it's not a reasonable substitute to casually suggest. What made it worse: oat milk, almond milk, and whole milk were all visibly sitting in the fridge right there from where I was seated at the bar. Zero effort to offer what was clearly available. The atmosphere didn't help either. The space feels like someone started building a café concept and never finished thinking it through. It's uninviting, disorganized, and oddly off -- not warm, not designed with the customer in mind. Nothing about the food, the presentation, or the space gives you a reason to choose this place over anywhere else. Not particularly tasty, not nicely decorated, not a vibe.
