My daughter was familiar with Mayday a locally owned ice cream parlor from a previous trip to St. Augustine and insisted that I go. I'm glad she did. The ice cream here is rich and delicious. There was a large variety with some unusual choices like "Rajah Honey" and olive oil. Faced with so many awesome choices we went with "the flight" which was six golf ball sized scoops to share. Each new bite was declared "the BEST" and in the end Caramel Queen was the winner. The server was so nice and they encourage you to sample any flavor you fancy. Not the first time to Mayday Ice Cream in St. Augustine Beach. This awesome shop is right on A1A with the feel of a 1950s vibe to it. They make their own ice cream, which is really creamy and flavorful. The Blueberry Crunch has real blueberries in a vanilla base with bits of a cone to give it the crunch. Their bourbon pecan is also incredible. The people there are really friendly and helpful if want a recommendation. Nestled just one street back from the main strip at st Augustine is MayDay ice cream. We wanted a sweet treat when we went to st Augustine and saw there were a lot of ice cream locations on the main strip, however we decided to shop around and see what flavors we could find and see which place tickled our fancy the most. This was a fantastic choice because we stumbled across May Day which we've never seen before. Going inside we could already tell the filming was a lot more exciting and interesting than the other options available in st Augustine. We had a quick look at the menu and decided this was our favorite choice for the day. The staff were incredibly friendly and let us try a couple of the different flavors and told us about them too. After trying a couple I noticed there was a flavor called Big Top, a take on a frosted animal cookie, of which it was impossible to turn down. I also tried the banana pudding and cloud 9, both of which were fantastic. A second choice was The parent Trap, another flavor bursting with nostalgia. The seeming of this location was really fun and really stood out from the other options available in the area. The theme certainly drew us in but the flavors sold us. We will definitely be back to try the 'flight' option, which is six mini scoops where you can try the different flavors, this is a fun double meaning due to the aeronautical theme of mayday ice cream! read more

It is so so so good. I like darker chocolate ice cream usually and this place has a really good one. And their biscoff flavor REALLY taste like bis off and I think the cookies are mixed in. Most places biscoff barely has the flavor. Even tho I prefer chocolate, their other flavors were also REALLY good. Wish I lived nearby, they are way better than Kelly's ice cream . Great well made ice cream from this spot. This wound up being my go to spot for ice cream during the week I was there. I tried three flavors and the Sunday Best Banana Pudding was the top one for me. I also enjoyed the coffee and donuts and the simply strawberry. The coffee ice cream was milky and creamy with a not too strong coffee flavor. I appreciated the strawberry ice cream wasn't artificially red - more like a strawberries and cream. I order a waffle cone for one of my orders and through it was almost too thick as you got towards the bottom where most bites were waffle and not much ice cream. Datil Dark which is a dark chocolate ice cream with beads of Datil peppers in it is my all time favorite ice cream & I've eaten a lot of ice cream in my day. This is a seasonal flavor only available in the winter months. And this month the pints are BOGO! What joy! Mayday has plenty of other wonderful flavors as well.
