Stopped here for something sweet after spending the afternoon on St. Augustine Beach with my family. This was my first visit to Cone Heads, and I had a very enjoyable experience! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Cone Heads is located right on A1A Beach Blvd, just a block off of the beach. It is in a standalone building that is inviting with both colorful signage and plenty of outdoor seating. They also have a drive-thru and a private parking lot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]When we visited on a Tuesday in July around 5:30 PM, we had no issue getting a parking spot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There were some other customers enjoying some ice cream, but there was relatively no line when we entered the store. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ordering happens inside, and you walk right into the ice cream cabinets and counter. All of the flavors are displayed and can be seen from the order line.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Additionally inside, there are some tables to sit and eat at, along with a restroom. They sell a variety of merchandise along with their food and dessert selection.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I liked seeing the community cork-board, where there were a variety of different posters and advertisements for events and services around the area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu consisted of traditional ice cream items one would expect - cups, cones, sundaes, banana splits, milkshakes, and more. They also had a Seasonal Special section on the menu, which I assume changes somewhat frequently. This trip, that item was a Donut Ice Cream Sandwich. There are some sundae combinations on the menu, but you can customize your own if you choose. There is hard ice cream, soft serve, and also some hot food options - hot dogs, sausages, and tamales, primarily. For drinks, they had canned soda, bottled, water, and some coffee options. As far as to-go, they had pints and quarts available for the ice cream, along with a freezer full of pre-packaged pints, quarts, and ice cream sandwiches for a grab and go situation. Having never been here before, our group needed some time to look at the menu and flavors before ordering. There were around 30 different flavors of hard ice cream, which included No Sugar Added and Dairy Free varieties, in addition to traditional full dairy varieties. I thought that the flavor selection was a healthy mix of traditional favorites and unique offerings. The staff working were friendly and helpful with answering all of our questions about the flavors. I even got to try a couple samples before making my decision. After much debate, I landed on trying the Donut Ice Cream Sandwich. This was made to order, and I got to choose the ice cream for the filling. I opted for the Kahula Chip for a coffee and donut flavor combination. I did enjoy this treat! The donut was fresh (and from a local spot), and the ice cream complimented it nicely. I thought the price was also fair for the size and specialty of the dessert, at $5.50 before any tax. My dog was waiting patiently in the car, so we ordered him a Doggie Ice Cream. It was a small boat of vanilla soft serve with peanut butter sauce and a Milk Bone. For my magnet collection, I also purchased one of their logo to take home with me. I personally did not pay the bill, but I thought the pricing here was fair and in line with any other similar type of shop. They took both cash and card. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This shop is exactly what you would want out of an ice cream shop on the beach - fun, colorful, and local. They incorporate various other local businesses into their products.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The theme of the establishment is appropriate for being a block away from the ocean, and there is a lot of color and fun decor to look at around the building.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff were all pleasant, the product is tasty, and the price is right. Really enjoyed discovering Cone Heads on this trip, and will make sure to stop by again during my future trips to St. Augustine! read more

The staff here was extremely friendly and accommodating - the prices are expensive as is everything else in 2024 but the quality is good and the portions were more than fair. There are a variety of flavors being offered which is always nice, and there was also tons of different cones and waffle bowls as well. What I really appreciated about the ice cream was how it's homemade, creamy, and stayed hard and intact as I took my time to eat it. Let me tell you about this amazing lil ice cream shop right on the beach. My mom and I were craving some ice cream at the oddest hour (almost 10pm on a Thursday). We did a quick Yelp search and we see a shop 6 minutes away. Of course we took forever to actually get out of the door and we realized we were cutting it close to closing time (15 mins). I called and we begged them to hold off on closing for two lil old ladies craving some ice cream. Not only did the whole Cone Heads crew have the best attitudes, they were also very helpful working with us and our indecisiveness. Mom and I couldn't settle on 1 scoop each, so we settled on 3 pints and 2 scoops of goodness. Watermelon sorbet, lemon sorbet and a dairy free toasted coconut (TDF!), plus.....blueberry cheesecake and orange dream. Needless to say....We love cone heads!! Great little ice cream joint... Stopped in for dessert after we finished dinner just down the street, so glad we had dessert here. When we first walked in, the line was almost out the door, but the folks working there were so efficient and super friendly, they knocked that line down quick. It was amazing to experience and then watch as we ate our ice cream seeing the rush that hit them afterwards and how quick they were to take care of everyone. The ice cream they offered was very varied and eclectic. I enjoyed the Razzle Dazzle with a banana ice cream, my wife had the Razzle Dazzle as well with their Black Cherry, we shared and it was all fantastic. Little ice cream spot that packs a very flavorful punch! Good prices, good service, great ice cream. I had the Run raisin, and I think it's the best Rum Raisin ice cream I've ever had!! It tasted like good wholesome ingredients, none of that artificial aftertaste you find in many places. My husband had the 3 scoop container, and we found that compared to another ice cream spot just down the street, these ice creams seems to be more flavorful and richer. Came to St Augustine for my wife's baby moon and she was craving this place. Have to say we felt scammed. Paid for two scoops and barely got a scoop and a half if that. What a "cool" place! Sweet, little spot to hit close to the beach. They have sooo many options. The staff was very friendly and helpful to us. I was surprised when my daughter ordered coffee ice cream but she loved it. My other daughter ordered the one with all kinds of stuff in it, and I wish I could remember the name but it was my favorite. But I also enjoyed my scoop of birthday cake and chocolate with hot fudge oozed on top. I am so impressed with their bags of broken waffle cone pieces. I'm such a slow eater that I never get cones because they're just a goopy mess when I finally get down to them. With the broken bits, I actually get to enjoy some cone with my ice cream. Always been a favorite stop for ice cream. Cone Heads used to sell Working Cow ice cream, which was a premium ice cream from St. Petr, but Working Cow stopped manufacturing ice cream last fall due to several health violations (listeria) and now Working Cow only distributed ice cream from other manufacturers. In spite of this, Cone Heads found a great solution in the Chocolate Shoppe ice cream (Madison, WI). This also is really good, premium ice cream. Tonight I had the Munchie Madness and Heaps of Love, both of which are "everything but the kitchen sink" type ice creams. I think I found a new favorite in Munchie Madness!
