I've been coming here for years. This place really cares that your glasses fit comfortably and suit you. I've had a weird reaction to polycarbonate lenses a few years ago and they redid them free of charge. I was welcome back anytime until they were sure my eyes were comfortable. They also discuss your options with you and take their time which is great. They do thorough eye exams. One thing I wasn't happy about (but this is for the doctor not Couture Optical) was that the process of plugging my lacrimal ducts wasn't fully explained to me. I have dry eyes. The first thing the doctor did was ask the front desk if my insurance covers lacrimal plugs? (uh... ok?) She then recommended putting "dissolving capsules" in my eyes to help keep my eyes moist. I agreed thinking they'd be in my eye NOT in my actual tear duct. Anyways, I came home and was shocked to find 1 of my tear ducts was actually black, blocked off. One must have fallen out in the office and the other fell out a day later which was a complete fail. Never again. I'll stick to eye drops. However, the people here are pleasant and helpful. When I got my eyes dilated, I was given a pair of glasses because they were concerned about me going into the sun with sensitive eyes. Thank you!! read more

Horrible horrible place! they made wrong prescriptions, never apologized and then when you tell them off and give a bad review, they call you rude and deny you services.. They say they don't take your insurance but they do... Professionalism for you! Good thing i keep my insurance company up to date since the very first mistake they made!! Walked in trying to purchase new eyewear. Woman at counter says I need a prescription. I've purchased dozens of pairs of RX glasses and sunglasses online and all over Brooklyn without being asked for a prescription. I have glasses on my face you can test them. I just recently moved to New York. This place was closest to my house unfortunately this place is more interested in making money then helping a customer.It was my first eye exam ever they were not informative they just rushed you off. And when you ask for your PD which your optometrist can do, they refuse so you can't go and buy them online or anywhere else but them. They tried to take your choices away so you can only buy with them and they give you frames that are 400 and plus they have limited economical frames. I'm a broke college student I'm not paying 500 for Tom Ford or 200 for a cheap pair that looks like they cost 20 dollars. Paid out of pocket to go somewhere else for a second opinion. read more

I got progressive lenses. When they measured my eyes, they must have measured wrong. They also did the distance prescription wrong and all they had to do was copy the prescription I brought them of my current glasses. They also they also never called when my glasses were ready but insisted they did. I have Verizon service , the call did not magically disappear . Mike redid my lenses, but instead of moving up the whole prescription moved only the computer distance up and too high so I couldn't use the glasses for distance. He also didn't give me the varilux I paid $150 for so it is all blind spots and the glasses are useless. I have just given up and eaten my $250 loss and gone elsewhere where they are now done right.. stay away from this place!! read more

Very tiny place and usually crowded with long waits. They have a very limited selection of frames, and they're only super top end and expensive. Nothing decent for anyone on a budget. They kept shuffling me back and forth between 2 tiny rooms for exams and the people doing the various tests seemed unsure of what the machines do and/or how to use them. Had to stop often and ask someone for help. I don't know if this was some sort of training day? The exam itself was VERY lengthy--the doctor is overly chatty and I was in a rush to get back to my child's sitter. They weren't supportive of me ordering my contacts online (it was drastically cheaper). And be prepared, they'll call you weekly to remind you for appointments, ordering the contacts you don't want from them etc. I had to ask several times to take me off their call list. read more

Great place with a large selection of sunglasses to prescription glasses. At first I was skeptical on the authenticity, since they have it all, but all is well and I am on my third pair of prescription glasses from Couture Optical. My favorite part about this place is their attentiveness to customers, from the follow up phone call to the personal assistance when selecting what I want, to the timely appointments. The prices are reasonable, and the quality is great when it comes to lenses. I hate to leave a bad review but this place was a real disappointment. I made my appointment time for 3pm and didn't get seen till almost 4 which is made even more annoying by the fact that it's an hour away from my house. The eye doctor was terrible. I kept telling her the letters weren't clear and that I couldn't see and she refused to believe me or fix it and told me the prescription she was giving me was the best she could do. (Meanwhile my older glasses that were 1/8 of the price make me see perfectly). The snotty and entitled staff also tries to sell you the most expensive frames they possibly can. I get that it's a business but chances are that if I'm buying a $50 groupon, I'm not in the market for $600 frames. Go to a real eye doctor with a staff that doesn't look at you like you smell like foul trash. read more

My very first experience last year in 2017 was great, I bought a nice pair of Versace frames and got the lenses there. But after this year I will no longer patron this small business. I've tried time and time again in these recent experiences to give this place the benefit of the doubt but I am convinced this is just a shady place run by shady people. I feel so taken advantage of and duped. I went to get a 2nd pair of frames back in March of this year because it's been a year since my last pair and if I didn't use my FSA I would've lost a lot of money. I went back here because of last years good experience. This time I had a bad feeling the moment I left the store the day I ordered and it was a nightmare from when I picked up my order which was a pair of gucci frames and a pair of miu mius. First off, I wasn't given a sales slip nor was the woman behind the counter swift enough to look up my account so i thought they would automatically apply my insurance- they didn't. The Gucci frames were fine but I didn't like the computer blocker lenses that the girl proposed I get so i had to get those lenses switched out. It was not necessary and I shouldn't have agreed to it since I wear them for more than sitting in front of a screen. The miu mius were limited edition and scuffed and scratched with stones missing. That's when I learned they give you the sample you try on - GROSS. Quality control shouldn't be such a problem in a small hole in the wall store. I called up and brought them to Mike, he was apologetic but I didn't have a great vibe with him from the get hes your typical salesmen that just gives you a snake-sneaky vibe. He exchanged the miu mius for me and instead I picked another set of every day frames and a pair of YSL sunglasses. The YSL sunglasses sample were scratched and he PROMISED he would switch it out and didn't, i didn't notice after i got home after discussing discounts because i felt like i was being overcharged after finding all the same frames online for less than half the prices even their regular prices were higher than the MSRP listed online. The other frames (fendi) I bought were fine. I also brought my own gucci sunglasses to get the lenses changed to my prescription and those are the worst ones. I hate polarized lenses and expressed that I wasn't sure about it and was still persuaded to give it a shot. What happened? These lenses are damaged and my money is WASTED. Whether I look at a device or a sign there are black spots in my view. I could bring them back but why would I want to deal with these people again? After i expressed my frustration with their prices they gave me a "discount" sure! LOL yeah discount on frames that are damaged and overpriced to begin with... OKAY. You got one over on me sureeee, but make no mistake- I will bash your business any chance i get until the day I die since you're nothing but a bunch of lying, shady crooks. All in all I don't mind spending money but if I am going to be taken advantage of I have a BIG problem with that. I will GLADLY take my money and spend it elsewhere with more honest business practices. I'm not the first, I'm not the only and I know I won't be the last. But hopefully my review will help others to avoid this despicable excuse of a business. Any positive review is either a friend of theirs or someone who doesn't know any better. Do yourself a favor, do your research and listen to reviews before wasting your money like I did. update- Oh and let me add that in reviewing my account and based on the receipts PRIOR to "negotiating" I WAS STILL OVERCHARGED. Cannot wait to go home and check the receipts to see how much more they overcharged me after "negotiating". Will most definitely be taking further action on this. read more

I have a problem with seeing far on my right eye I went there and they were extremely rude they even told me I didn't need glasses, during the exam I get it when they ask which one is more clearer and not only that I couldn't read it half the time at the end they told me the would call in a week or two and I never got that call as others have mentioned, also yes everything there is over priced short summary they are rude don't examine eyes well overpriced and lie. read more

If I can give a zero I will. This place is legit garbage. I went in to get the lenses popped off the old glasses frame to a BRAND new frame I had. I trusted their expertise and left the store after I paid them $5 for the service they've provided. Being a severely Blind girl (600+ degrees) I can't really see fine white lines they have created thru brutally forcing my lenses into the frame. She couldn't do them because according to her she had nails on and so she asked a man to shove it in. I've had no problems with this glasses brand for 3 years. They keep repeating that my glasses were cheap which was very rude because they were trying to get rid of the responsibility. They even pointed to a sign saying that they hold no responsibility for frames bought elsewhere but DID THEY NOT BRUTALLY PUSHED THE LENSES IN AND CAUSED 3 FINE WHITE LINES. Honestly you ppl out there... DON'T COME HERE!!! They keep saying they checked before handing them back to me and that since I walked out, anything happened outside shouldn't be their responsibility. But am I really suppose to tell the future and wait in the store until it snaps. So here's the thing; the people at this store weren't particularly rude, but once they found out that I had purchased a Groupon, I got treated a little differently. The guy at the front desk was a little bit pushy and ever since I went to them, they will not stop calling me to "follow up" with them. The doctor was decent, and her eye examination was a lot more thorough than other places that I have been to. The salesman tried to sell me on Crizal lenses, when I told him I had it before and that it didn't make much of a difference, he caught a bit of an attitude with me. Where do I start, I was passing by after shopping at netcoast market and realized I have been putting off an eye exam for quite some time. I walked into this optical and they had me wait in a very comfortable area for only 10 minutes where I saw doctor Friedman who was extremely helpful, polite and professional. Then I chose very nice bvlgari eyeglasses with crizal lenses which I was educated on by the optician. These things are super clear! If I could give them zero stars I absolutely would. The only positive thing about this place is the optometrist who works at the location. DO NOT GET YOUR OPTICAL GLASSES FROM THEM. Besides getting overcharged by $100, the customer service is absolutely horrific. My glasses were supposed to be ready a week ago, they postponed the date twice. Not reliable, don't care for their customers, JUST WANT TO MAKE MONEY OFF OF YOU. If you're looking to get ripped off and wait a ridiculous amount of time for your glasses, by all means go here.
