I usually make an appointment before coming because it does get really busy sometimes. My favorite thing is that they're opened on weekends and have frees snacks and drinks on the 3rd floor for waiting patients. They carry a bunch of brands of glasses and sunglasses to choose from. Also they do take a lot of insurances but make sure you ask with the workers on the 2nd floor. I get my eyes check every 2 years (covered by insurance) and my glasses usually will be finished in a week. The only bad part is that the workers English isn't that great. I have been subscribing my glasses here for couple of years. The reason why I like here is because of their nice and professional staff. They are always patient and help find your most satisfactory product. Have problem after sales? No problem, just give them a call and bring your glasses to them, they will fix it quickly. My current glass was bought two years ago, my 3 year old daughter bent it so much that the frame was badly twisted. They help fix and calibrate it without any charges. It is my 1st year to prescribe my contact lenses from this Chinese store, as I know Anne, the store manager, from one of my friends. I purchased one-day Acuvue oasys for a year, because they offered me $250 rebate (i think it is available to everyone, not sure, you'd better check). Overall, I am happy my visit. Though it is a Chinese store, I did not feel any communication issues, as they have English speaking stuff. Large selection of frames including low bridge fit "Asian fit." I love that there is a waiting area upstairs for the eye exam. It offers small amenities and a charging station. What I really disliked though is the long wait time for the exam. On more than two occasions, regardless that I had an appointment, I was still left waiting 45 minutes or more. I'm not even sure they actually follow the appointment schedule. Customer service has been nice and decent. Overall, everything is pretty streamlined and professional. Was recommended by a friend to come here and it isn't a disappointment. This place is pretty big and definitely very comfortable. They have three floors and the third is where the optometrist is. The doctor there told me they have new technology which checks your eye health which I cannot stress enough is VERY important. That aside, they have a lounge where there are drinks(hot and cold) and snacks while you wait. There are also charging docks which is very considerate of them for the customers who are waiting. The wait area is spacious as well. Would definitely recommend and come back. Only thing is on a Sunday is the wait. Everyone is coming! Haha but that, I think, is to be expected. read more

We asked for $20 discount on a $500 order recently, the female manager refused and started to talk nonsense. Had an appointment at 11:20 and they told me to be here at 11 so I got here at 11. Waited for about 40minutes to see the doctor's assistant and haven't even seen the optician yet. Someone from downstairs randomly came upstairs to ask if I mind giving an older male customer (who came in after me) to be seen by the doctor first because he was getting mad. WHAT? I respect my elders, but it's not an emergency room and I have been waiting at well, so why can't the other customer have some patience and wait like anyone else? I didn't even give the staff an answer yet if I mind, I have errands to run and wanna be done as quick as possible. He randomly told the doctor to see the other customer first, which means I have to wait even longer. That's disrespectful to me. Not respecting my time. Poor customer service and bad management. Also, the optician assistance was calling out names from inside the room as if people can hear her clearly. The TV is on so loud, she can get her lazy ass to walk out of the room to call out the name of the next patient. Don't even want to come back anymore. read more

Run-of-the-mill place for eyeglasses. Employees are friendly, but like most Chinese-run opticals, they seem to have some sort of obsession with selling Nike-brand glasses. One massive problem though - they somehow managed to reverse the right and left lens on my glasses. I walked around all dizzy and looking like a drunk before I realized it. It took them like half an hour to fix it when I brought it back, but that's a mistake that shouldn't have happened in the first place. read more

The service is really bad! When I was buying new glasses, they treated me very well. But when I asked them to help clean my old glasses, they give me all kinds of ridiculous excuses... They just don't want to provide free services at all!!! Besides, they would keep selling you the most expensive things! Got my glasses here a few weeks ago. The location is very convenient since it is right at the corner and two bus lines is right outside and the N train is a block away. Everything is neat and orderly. Once you step in, someone would assist you right away. Even if there aren't enough staff on the spot, one of them would show you that they acknowledge you and get someone that is at the back, either working at the back or on break, I am not to sure, but someone would come out to help you. It is my 2nd time getting my glasses here, usually I just changed the degree and update the lens but my first pair of frame which I got here were getting scratch up. It is great how they keep your record and also offer eye examination at he 2nd floor if you need it. Basically, a lot of my family and friends get their glasses here because they have really great services. You can simply go in and ask them to help adjust your glasses so it hang more comfortably on your face and it is free of charge. It is better to come here during the weekday in the middle of the day because it gets so busy at night time and during the weekends. It is a very nice and friendly environment that welcomes people. read more

This is a review for the Chinatown (Mott St.) branch only. I didn't get my exam here. I just went to my optometrist and took the prescription to get glasses. As far as I know, the glasses came out fine. The employees (Grace and Terry) were extremely helpful and were upfront about what glasses are appropriate for me. They were also very good and patient in helping me with getting my insurance to pay up and basically handled the whole thing for me. I have been there for two pairs now and had great experiences. Personally I'm the type that would prefer service over price (if it's not too ridiculous) and they weren't really trying to sell me the most expensive pairs (the two that I got were both Prodesign, which btw are GREAT). They were conscious of the non covered costs and tried their best fit my budget. All in all, I would definitely recommend them for actually getting your glasses made and getting a nice frame. read more

I really love their customer service. Pricing - eh, not so much. They sell mainly brand name glasses and offer very little to none of the cheaper ones. Not that I mind of course - I'm a teen and would prefer trendier glasses, but if you're looking for cheapo spares in case yours breaks from a ball game, look elsewhere. So far, I've gotten one pair of glasses and a one-year subscription of Acuvue Oaysis contact lens from them. And I must say - I'm IMPRESSED. Eye-check appointment: Great doctor, all of them speak English well compared to several of the other doctors in the glasses clinics. They're patient, but its only one office. The doctors really go into detailed explanation with you if you ask. I asked them for contact solution brands once and they recommended me a brand they carried and even other suitable brands. Excellent service. Expect lines on weekends unless you've arranged an appointment. Glasses: Takes about 3 days on average for assembly. Assessment is pretty quick. I asked them for my eye prescription once (to purchase a spare set from coastal.com) and they gave it to me without much problems. I tried it with other stores in the past and I've had unpleasant experiences (had to bring legal matters to the issue with a ton of arguing). Contacts: Here's where they really shone for me. I'm not sure who the young saleslady was at the time, but I spent a whole 3 hours at the store learning how to put on contacts and she taught/corrected me. Really, I felt humbled by such service because they gain money from commission and they can easily pick up another customer while I was trying to put them on. But no, she insisted to stay by my side to teach me how to put them on. I don't think that lady works there anymore, but that type of service is impressive. If you're going for contacts, they also offer a free one-week trial for first time customers (or at least they used to). You should inquire them about that if interested. Advice: Don't be afraid to ask for promotions. The salespeople are usually young and they usually understand that everyone is budget-strapped nowadays. read more

Untrained staff. Jenny of the Contacts Dept does not know what is covered through insurance and does not seem to know what she is talking about. After having my friend and I wait over 10mins, she did not get our attention that she was done. I bought in my benefits form and she told me that my insurance only covers Specialty Contacts and that I would need to pay $110 fitting fee extra not covered by my insurance on top of the cost of regular contacts. It states clearly that it is covered and my insurance does cover both specialty and regular contacts. Horrible. I took my business elsewhere bc I do not want to be scammed and ripped off from untrained staff. read more

Eye Solutions at this location is my go-to whenever I need a new pair of glasses or contacts fitting/ordering or just a little free touch-up. It was recommended by a relative of mine but I can see the appeals. First of all, this place looks clean and staff are dressed and conduct very friendly and professionally. They all seem to know the procedures well and are able to organize and address in-and-out customers in an orderly and timely manner. They give off the impression I can be well taken care of. Second, the facility looks fairly new and clean. There is a little contacts fitting room on the 2nd floor where you can sit, wash your hands, and put on your contacts. It is a perfect judgement-free room if you are putting on contacts for the first time (God, this brings back some embarrassing memory). Third, prices are reasonable. Not the cheapest around town, but not much different than its competitors. They have a la carte services, such as eye exam, glasses/contacts ordering, but usually I am recommended of their packages, which include both examination and contacts. And the doctor is good at getting my prescription right. So overall, my experiences have been satisfactory. Nothing serious has happened and as long as it stays like this, I can see myself keep going back. read more

Rarely you would find an eyeglass store with 3 floors. The staff members are super polite and considerate about giving you the best fit and comfortable eyeglasses. Debbie was my helper, i like her because she gives great tips. I ordered a lens frame that was out of stock, no pressures and they helped me out by pre-ordering it. She gave me a call with in 3 days with everything prepared! Whatever your glasses needs to be fixed, they will do it right away (super friendly people in there!) I'm very happy with my new glasses.
