Shopping for glasses can get annoying fast bc after a while everything starts looking the same, but he was super helpful and gave actual honest opinions. Not pushy at all either, which I really appreciated. They also have a really solid selection. A lot of nice frames, but it still felt easy to look around and try stuff on without getting overwhelmed. So when I dropped my glasses and accidentally stomped them out of existence I really thought I was going to have to become a hermit for the two weeks it was going to take to get a replacement. Thankfully, a friend was able to connect me with Milan. I wasn't able to get there to try on frames, so they picked for me based on a selfie and my budget. UPDATE: Team reached out and offered to give me new lenses based on my issues with the prescription. I don't have a major correction, but I need to wear glasses to work on a computer all day or I get migraines, dizzy, etc. It's a bummer. Glad to have an update on the reading glasses I bought with Milan and were thorough in figuring out how to correct the issue. Expensive learning lesson to make sure lenses/prescription are helpful (for each eye) instead of assuming it's an "adjustment period." -- Can't recommend based on the prescription: Had issues with glasses over the past year with headaches after getting exam at Milan. Went to an actual medical office and it turns out the script for my right eye makes it blurrier to see in the distance. Yikes. Previously, I've only worn glasses at the computer, so no wonder eyes have been tired and getting headaches! Also had a hard time getting the full prescription from them and never received the PD. I had to circle back to include the separate reading script. Will hard sell you on glasses as well. Glasses selection is pretty great if high for pricing. Unfortunately, I didn't figure it out until months after I used the prescription at Warby's and spent $500 on a new pair of glasses. Milan Optique swapped which eye had astigmatism. Had a Groupon (a great deal at this office that has blessed me 3 times now) for a contact lens and glasses exam. I saw Dr. Chen who was both thorough and efficient in his examination, answering all my questions with ease and making great recommendations for prescription adjustments. He lowered the power of my contacts (which were too high for years) to accommodate prolonged screen time and up-close reading. It's made a world of difference in just one day. The front of the house is a bit less organized and also a bit rush-y and curt during the check-in and check-out process, but nothing to keep me coming back. I hate hate hated this place. I was truly hoping to find a local business to support, so was looking forward to coming here, but almost everything was off from the very start. When the optometrist complains about how dirty the equipment is, that's a bad sign. But it was the sales clerks that were the worst. They got almost every aspect of my insurance benefits wrong, and failed to correct it. Luckily I was able to get reimbursed directly from my insurer, because Milan refused to do it. They also straight up misrepresented options available to me, and gave very bad advice about types of lenses. I do not trust anything about this place, and urge extreme caution. I note that, based on other reviews, this seems to be a pattern, and they often blame the customer or how complicated insurance benefits are. Love this place! Have had trouble finding a place that makes a decent pair of progressive lens glasses, and these guys know what they are doing. Tommy is extremely thorough at making sure the lenses are the correct fit. Most other places do quick cursory measurements, but Tommy took a gazillion measurements and triple-checked everything before sending it off. I came in and asked the Asian girl with light pink hair and glasses who was sitting at the front desk how much an eye exam for contact lenses for astigmatism is and how much a box of the biweekly Acuvue Oasys for Astigmatism is. The girl told me the price of the contacts with a nasty attitude like she was in a bad mood. I got mad and called the supervisor on the phone and told the supervisor over the phone no one cares whether a person has a bad day or not.
