All I can say is WOW! My experiences at Eye D Vision have been absolutely top notch. To start, the entire office is absolutely spotless and the front space is bright and airy. There's a lovely seating area towards the back, and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Doctor Diana Nguyen is AMAZING. I have recommended her to family and friends who have now also been to her. Super sweet and made the appointment such a nice experience. Let my Expensive AF Lesson-Learned be your warning. Ortho-K hype. DON'T Do It. We started our son on that "hard sell" Ortho-K treatment for nearsightedness last year, May 2017. It's a new treatment - means our insurance doesn't cover it. I was "sold" on the new technology; with a hefty price tag of $1650 (which includes 1st pair of hard lenses and a small size starter kit). I asked what the annual maintenance costs would be? The guy (probably their finance mgr) told me: "you wouldn't have to change lenses unless it becomes ineffective; and/or damaged; cost would be between $300-350 to change it out". Ok - it's doable budget wise. Forward to the 1 year mark, we got a call to renew my son's lenses at $600... umm... that's a big difference on price, no? Went to speak with them, the finance guy deflected and said "I misheard it because no way would I say the renewal would be less than $600. If anything, maybe I said $250 each lense". NO. I think you were low on your sales quota and told me what I wanted to hear. Why on earth would we choose such an expensive temporary vision correction? Why wouldn't we just wait for LASIK which is a perm solution?!? AND COSTS LESS!!! Let me do the math for this temporary solution: Year 1 $1650 1st pair $300 for annual eye solution supplies (3 very specific brands and it's not cheap!) FOREVER until the kid can get LASIK $600 annual new lenses $300 annual eye solution supplies $125 consultation Multiple $1125 x 6 + your 1st yr costs -- that's way more than 15 mins of LASIK - that would give you perm vision correction. It was my first time ever getting an eye examination and I did not know what to expect. I went in thinking there'd be a wait time but it took less than 15 minutes, as a new patient, to get my eyes examined by the receptionist outside. Not long after, I was called in to see Dr. Nguyen and she is the sweetest and most patient doctor ever. There was a language barrier between her and my mom so I struggled to explain some eye terminology but Dr. Nguyen was very patient and tried to decipher what I was trying to tell her. She also took the time to explain in-depth about my eyes and genetics that may play a part. After the examination, I picked out some glasses and no one pressured me to upgrade or anything. Less than two weeks later, I was contacted that my glasses were ready! A downside is Dr. Nguyen doesn't speak Chinese so it may be difficult to communicate without an interpreter. Otherwise, they're a really professional group of people who seem to want the best for their patients. I'll be back annually! read more

**You must schedule an appointment in advance! I came here for an annual eye checkup. Made an appointment in the afternoon. The staff here are doing everything they can to keep us safe. The door is open only for patients that have appointments, plenty of space and seating to keep a safe distance from everyone else. Once you enter, the staff at the front will take your temperature and have you sanitize your hand. They are very welcoming and made the check in process quick. When the ophthalmologist is ready to see you, they ask you to wash your hands and also sanitize all equipment. I felt safe coming here and appreciate that the staff were taking every precaution in the book. Along with a standard checkup, I paid an extra $25 for a fungal test which is helpful to detect eye diseases like glaucoma. It doesn't hurt to spend a little extra to make sure your eye health is in check. It's $45 for the eye exam without insurance so I paid a total of $70. Dr. Nguyen was really informative when it came to explaining the changes in my prescription. She also went over results from my fungal test and explained what the images said about my eye health. I highly recommend this place if you need to get your vision checked out! read more

All of the staff practice excellent health and safety procedures ie; mask wearing, temperature taking, constantly wiping down and sanitizing everything and only having one appointment in the facility at a time. I felt very safe. All of the staff and the Eye Doctor were very professional, kind and courteous to me. I got my reading glasses prescription updated after my thorough eye exam. Also, the Doctor was able to prescribe me a topical medicine for eczema on my eyelids, which was awesome because I thought I'd have to see another doctor for that. And WOW, the topical prescription worked right away and my eyelids are so much better! I went to Eye D vision for contact lens fitting even though they didn't accept my insurance and it was very worth it! I called in advance for my appointment and got seen after 15 minutes of arriving. The doctor was quick to examine me and he couldn't get the lens in my eye but he mentioned it'd be easier to do it myself. I came here for the first and last time over a year ago for my annual check up and contact lenses prescription. The people work there are not that friendly. You have to ask the front desk for a lot of information - they don't just tell you stuff. For example how much or what my insurance will cover etc. You only see the doctor about 5 min or so - she will try to sell you the product that supposed to correct your eyesight - the insurance will not cover it. (I went to a different doctor and asked if I need that product - she says no). So don't get whatever the doctor tries to sell you there - ask for second opinion or third from different doctors. The place is very clean, but the wait to see the eye doctor was so long! I made my appointment for 4:45pm and didn't see the eye doctor until 5:45pm. By the time I finished seeing the eye doctor, the place was closing so I didn't have a long time to pick out a pair of frames I wanted. In light of the corona virus, I think Eye D did a great job at taking the necessary precautions to make sure both their patient and staff members felt safe. They are equipped with face covering and gloves and for extra security, their entrance is locked until a patient shows up for their appointment. Staff members are efficient and polite. I think we can all agree that some asian owned practices tend to "bend" regulations and guidelines but you can be assured not here at Eye D Vision Optical. I like that they disinfect the machines in front of me. I've been to practices before where as a patient, I've had to ask an employee whether the instrument/equipment they're using on me is disinfected or not. A patient should feel 100% confident when at a doctor's practice and that is the impression given to me at my first appointment at Eye D. Dr. Nguyen was very friendly, patient, informative. So this is my first time reviewing a business during COVID. I figured it wasn't fair because we are all doing the best we can. I made an exception for this place because I felt that they deserve to be noticed for it. I've visited this place pre-COVID and didn't think much about it. It was just another eye glass place. Anyways recently I had to get an eye exam and my wife suggested this place. At first I was hesitant, you know COVID related fears and such but to my surprise these guys were so helpful and nice. They take the Virus very serious. Temp test, sanitizer station and few people. I wished all business did this. They sanitized all the machines before and after. I couldn't have felt better. The fears I had wasn't something I was worried about there because I saw the steps they took to protect everyone. The doctor was wonderful, the staff was great. I sensed a new member of their team but she knew what she was doing. I just wanted them to know how appreciative I am of the measures they took to keep folks safe and hope that other business will take a page out of their book. I had a good experience in this place. I found this place from my insurance I was trying to find what doctor was getting my insurance. so it's a very nice clean place. my eye exam took like 20-25 minutes in total including filling out my medical history information and procedure itself. I liked that they were expecting me exactly at the time I made an appointment. no long lines. At first they checked pressure of my eye and did some exams only after I was transferred to doctor himself. Doctor ‍ was very nice. He took time to answer to my questions. Visited Eye D last week during COVID and I was very satisfied with the precautions they've had to keep the place sanitized and cleaned. Pretty convenient and easy to schedule an appointment online, which you will have to do in advance as they only open the door once you call and verify that you have an appointment. They then also take your temperature using a non-touch thermometer. Exam was quick and smooth, and the staff was very friendly, helping me through my insurance options for lenses and frames. Since appointments were controlled, there was plenty of distance and there was even a designated area in which you can pull down your mask a bit to try on frames to get the full look. They then store away the frames you try on afterwards to sanitize them. Overall, the experience was great and would recommend. read more

TLDR: Doctor is great. I had a big issue with the staff. Too lazy to order trials for me. Receptionist lied and said I would only get trials in my right prescription if I had purchased contacts. This is not industry standard. Stores can order your EXACT prescription to use as trials for free. Daily lenses trials come in a box of 5 for each eye. YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO GET THIS FOR FREE WITH YOUR CONTACT LENS FITTING. Make sure this store doesn't lie to you and make you try contacts in the wrong prescription before ordering. The female receptionist did her best to help me through all the misinformation I was given by another worker. She was really nice about it. Thank you for that. ---- What happened: They're usually really great. They have quick service but I had a extremely disappointing visit recently. I had wanted trials for my daily contact lens prescription. Typically I pay full price for the fitting for $90 but I save a lot of money order contacts online so I don't order at the store. When I called to inquire about about get trials. I was told I couldn't get the exact prescription for my trial that I would have to try the trials just for feel and comfort. This raised a red flag to me. (I've worked in a eyeglasses store. I've given out trials for free just so a patient could have contacts to use before their order came in. My prescription is also really basic. Nothing special that would need special orders.) I decided not to argue and just deal with the store policy. Finally I go in to pick up my trials. THEY GIVE ME ONE PAIR. Daily lens trials come in a sealed box of 5 lens. You get two boxes. One for the left and one for the right. So I'm really irritated because I personally feel that lenses need to be worn for more than 1 day. I need to know if my eyes will get dry during the full day and etc. I already don't be wearing it in the right prescription and now the store isn't even following normal protocol. I think I should be getting what I get at any normal eye store. Trails in the correct amount and in my exact prescription. Therefore I tell the receptionist that this is unacceptable that I don't want to come to this store after getting trials in below standard amounts and incorrect prescriptions. She tries to make the situation better by telling me she can order it for me but I would have to wait a few days. I proceeded to verify that all the trials are free for them and that I would not need to purchase contacts in order to try trials in my right prescription. She says that this is true and that the previous receptionist I had spoken to was not correct. Basically this shop only wants money and won't even operate by the books. But the female receptionist was not at fault since it wasn't her who said I could get the lenses in my exact prescription. If I could give 10 stars, I would. This review is long overdue but I had to write about the positive experience I had with Dr. Nguyen (hope I spelled her name correctly). I've been coming here for about 4-5 years and she's been the most professional and informative doctor I've ever visited. But I'm actually not writing the review about my visit; I'm writing about my mother's appointment. Let me begin by saying my mother is super stubborn and doesn't take care of herself that way she used to take care of me when I was younger. It had been almost a year of her practically going blind and she never said a word to me or any of my siblings. It wasn't until she told me that she couldn't see my text messages that she finally admitted her vision was blurry. She had gone to one of those mall optometrists (Cohens Optical) covered by her insurance...they took her money and had her pay for some eyeglasses they claimed would help her vision but of course, they didn't. I took her to eye-d vision and although they didn't take her insurance, the out of network price was very reasonable (only about $100 for the full comprehensive exam and the eye health exam too). Dr. Nguyen was patient but firm. She explained to my mother that she had fast-growing cataracts in both eyes and that her vision would only get worse very quickly. She even used my xrays (whatever those eye pictures are called) and compared them to my mother's, showing her how how blurry her vision really was and how fast the cataracts were growing. She emphasized how important it was for my mother to get the cataracts surgery, one eye at a time, and provided complete references (I believe she recommended a Dr. Angie ?) and contact information to get her surgery scheduled - advice which my mother promptly followed. Fast forward and now my mother has perfect vision in both eyes! I cannot thank Dr. Nguyen enough for being patient and caring for my mother as if she was her own! She has the ability to explain things in layman's terms. She is an expert in her field, and most importantly, she is extremely compassionate and professional! Thank you Dr. Nguyen! read more

I called here and explained my situation and subsequent need to be seen. They were able to help me same day. I was given a thorough eye exam, including pupillary distance and a review of the RX in my old lenses. I received my new prescription by email, and the form I needed was submitted online as promised. I had nothing in my hand when leaving their office, but the staff came through with the documents I needed after I left. That really means a lot to me, as I often find myself hounding place a of business to complete the transaction. They were prompt, courteous, and thorough. And nobody tried to sell me on additional procedures or services, or pressured me into new lenses. I would highly recommend them if you need a vision test for the DMV as they clearly know how to use modern technology - which, surprisingly, many optical shops find challenging. The extra step beyond the vision test/new prescription was easy for them, and that ease is truly priceless. Will definitely be back. Didn't reveal my prior knowledge of the field as to get an authentic feel of their services from the customer end....and was quite impressed! read more
