This isn't the same Dari-Delite I reviewed four years ago…read more As a kid I remember looking forward to stopping in after church on Sunday afternoon or a Wednesday night. Me and my buddies gathered around the yellow-lit booths eating hamburgers and stealing fries from one another; Dari-D was the place to be. But, by the time I had children of my own that feeling had long disappeared; the atmosphere was no longer inviting and it became a burden to even order a basic burger and fries combo. Needless to say, the tides have turned. The place has done a complete 180° over the last few years: new ownership and management have restored this local watering hole to the dairy dip glory of my youth. The updated staff, still a somewhat constant rotation of local teens, seem to be vetted better than before and ever since our local Pizza Hut has shut down the nicest kids in town flock to work at Dari-D. Sure, it still takes a while to receive an order other than a drink, but considering it's all made to order and served hot off the grill, the wait is worth it. No hot lamps here, you can expect mouth watering, classic diner food dripping in the southern Americana nostalgia every blue state resident grew up loving and eating after church or a ballgame. The menu varies from hamburgers and hot dogs to catfish, fried shrimp, dinner salads, and even a "pizza burger". If you haven't had one, go now!! After you wash all that down with an ice cold cola, be sure to order desert. Soft-serve is the standard, but I'd recommend a sundae over a cone or if you're feeling real fancy treat yourself to the most delicious parfait this side of the Arkansas river. All in all, if you're fond of finding those special little "hole in the wall" joints that make you feel like you got let in on a local secret, this is the place to go. I'm leaving my old review up just to show how far this place has come in the last four years. Thanks, Dari-D, for bringing back a place I can bring my kids to enjoy the same food and dining experience I remember so fondly from my childhood.

Coincidentally named, Memory Lane Café…read more Belleville is a small town with a dwindling population, a wide spot in the road. Google Maps struggles to find it when tasked with the challenge. A population of less than 300. What once was a very nice big brick building, is directly across the street from the café. The last historical building still standing, appears to have housed several businesses back when the town was thriving. Now it is a boarded-up, crumbling blemish that drags the town down. Worthless today except for the sentimental value that only a few old enough to remember, have for it. A monument of Belleville's past, that is now a marker on memory lane. The café is as small town, down home, rural Arkansas as you can get. Delicious country cooked meals served up by friendly locals. A couple of enjoyable breakfasts for us. Plates filled with eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, biscuit and gravy. Served with an endless cup of coffee. After a quart of coffee, I had to protect my cup from be refilled. The interior décor is exactly what you would expect to find in a small café with a name Memory Lane: signs, pictures, license plates, advertising. Elvis was well represented. An entire wall dedicated to the "King of Rock and Roll." My wife discovered a very unique surprise hanging on the rustic, rough cut pine walls; an autographed picture of Carol Burnett with a letter dated June 25, 2002. The letter was addressed to the owners of the restaurant at the time. Check the pictures. Drop in for delicious breakfast, or one of the daily specials with a side of friendly small-town hospitality. Better hurry though, the restaurant may soon be just another pleasant past experience that makes up memory lane. Memory Lane Café is for sale.

Today we came for Sunday lunch and enjoyed quiche. Lorraine and the kids had spaghetti with meat sauce. We had a black forest cake for dessert and also ice cream sundaes for the kids. We drank Whitaker's sparkling grape juice for our meal. It was a great hit. The kids really enjoyed it and they said they wanted to come back soon! It's probably been five or six years since we have been here and the kids really didn't remember it. We did learn that they're not giving tours of the wine cellar since Covid at least not without some kind of special arrangement. The service was excellent and I would add the same lady that waited on me today was waiting on me many years ago when I first visited here when I was 11 years old. That's been more then 40 years ago.

If you enjoy sweet wines like us, we loved the strawberry alpine and the chocolate wine as well as the red muscadine. They had many other wines to choose from as well. Our son does not enjoy wine, but they offered non-alcoholic beverages for him to sample as well. We appreciated this kindness. In addition to the wines we purchased some artisan soaps and body lotion made from wine sediments with amazing scents. We also purchased some homemade apple butter. As it happened today we were not hungry at the time so we did not visit the restaurant but look forward to going there on a future trip. The clerk was extremely helpful and friendly. She took the trouble to make sure we enjoyed the experience and got out of it what we were looking for. This was all the more appreciated since this was our daughter's first wine tasting.

It's the kind of place that instantly makes you feel comfortable. The true highlight, however, was the food. It was simply amazing. The battered fries were fantastic--nice and crispy on the outside. The excellent experience was rounded out by the outstanding service. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and attentive. She took the time to offer the daily specials right away and made sure to keep checking on us without being intrusive. Her attention truly elevated the entire lunch. IThe Dig is the place to go.

The tables are nice and spread out so you're not dining on top of each other and the decor is light and easy, nothing too over the top or cluttered. The food was superb!! We both opted for the BBQ, hubby had the sampler platter and I had the ribs. The side choices were also endless, too many to count! The ribs were fall off the bone, smokey deliciousness, the brisket was perfectly rendered and seasoned, the pulled pork was tender and juicy and the sausage was nice and smokey. What stole the entire show was the tortilla chips that came with the corn dip. Now, the corn dip was wonderful but those thin, crispy warm chips were exactly what chips should always be like! I opted for left over ribs so I could finish off the corn dip and chips!! Excellent restaurant and will definitely return if ever in the area again!

I was barely seated and the server was there to take my drink order. Things were looking really good at this point. My drink arrived quickly. It was a bottled beer and it was well chilled. The server took my order which included a side salad. The server told me to help myself to the salad at the salad bar. Everything looked fresh on the salad bar except for the lceburg lettuce, which had a lot of pinking around the edges. Thankfully there was also a much fresher looking spring greens lettuce mix available as well. So after getting my salad I returned to my table. Sat down and ate my salad, drank my beer, drank most of my water and waited. My server was nowhere to be seen. There was no servers to be seen. There was a large group table in front of me who were already seated when I got there and they didn't have their food and a table behind me, a man with two kids who came in a minute or two after me, who didn't have their food either. After about 25 minutes after finishing my salad my food arrived, via a different server than the one who took my order. I have to say the food was well cooked and portion sizes were good. The food for the man and two kids came out just after mine but the food for the big group didn't arrive until I was paying my bill. Not sure if they asked for the food to be delayed or if the kitchen was having issues getting everything cooked but it certainly seems like the kitchen is not in a hurry to get orders done and out. No one ever asked if I needed a refill on my drinks or ask if I needed anything. I would have given a lower score but the food was good and the view is fantastic.

It looks to have been around for quite a few years. The spacing of multiple doors located on the front of the building, hint that in its early life it may have been operated as a small motel or roadside cabins. Country décor inside, knotty pine, barn tin and farm tools on the wall. Grab a table. The well-worn menus have the diner foods you were expecting. Mashed potatoes and cream gravy, likely instant but very tasty. Golden brown okra and a couple of fresh yeast rolls to clean up any stray gravy on the plate. Nothing fancy, great food, adequate friendly service. And an opportunity to enjoy a slower pace of life in rural Arkansas You will quickly figure out that this is an Amish owned business. The friendly ladies working out front were dressed in a traditional Amish conservative attire, which included the white bonnets. I cannot help it, but the bonnets remind me of coffee filters.
