One always has to wonder when they come to a strange new destination, what's is it like to live here. We will never know but we will not forget either. Let's go inside the store. This is a Terribles gas station that offers Chevron gas and all the amenities of this chains points of quality. The cashier was an amazing human with a great sense of humor . An excellent customer service experience and employee. The cleanliness of the store and the restroom was outstanding. One has to wonder this is a convenient store. Wow, coming from Las Vegas this is epic. The coffee was fresh and truly refreshing. The donuts were delicious and fresh . What more could an ordinary customer need or want? How about some local culture . This store stands in the middle of nowhere it seems, but it's the sight of historic beginnings here in Utah . Many hiking trails exist in and around the store. The Cove Fort has buildings still standing. Let's learn something; this was a daily stop for travelers needs years and years ago. This was a halfway point picked by Bingham Young for individuals traveling the Mormon Road to the capital . The water supply is inadequate here . Many structures still exist on the gas station property. You can wander through pieces of prior uses of the land . It's here so you can learn more knowledge. At least water is not an issue because they sell a wide range of different kinds and types. As we get ready to go it was fun stopping. We got coffee, culture, and donuts . Hollywood location scouts take notice: if you need an amazing filming location for a horror movie, this is the place! This creepy-as-heck gas station feels like it's in the middle of nowhere and is decorated with lots and lots (and lots) of dead animals on the wall. The big deer staring back at me while I was waiting in line for the bathroom started to creep me out, while his stuffed deer sister seemingly took great pleasure in giving me the evil eye from across the Pepsi cooler. While there was a giant buck head hanging over the nacho cheese dispenser, I couldn't help but wonder why the owners didn't try to finagle it so you could pull on his antlers and the cheese would squirt out of his mouth and onto your chips. NOTE TO OWNERS: MAKE THIS HAPPEN! I stopped here out of desperation when that giant Big Gulp from 50 miles down the road started to catch up with me. I was in and out pretty fast so nobody tried to pull the "tire scam" on me (but thanks fellow Yelpers for the tip so I was aware of it)! The restrooms were inside the convenience store, secure and reasonably clean. I took a couple of minutes to snap a few pictures and to take a gander at the rows and racks of utter crap for sale (flag stickers, local cookbooks, a few redneck "joke" postcards) before heading back on the road. Initially I stopped because I needed gas but ended up staying after my Jeep broke down. I first tried a mechanic from beaver but had no luck at all as they were extremely rude and had 0 customer service experience skills. Luckily The owner of the chevron had a shop in back of his station and was able to get us back on the our way in no time. Very thankful for Jimmy H. He went out of his way above the call of duty to help. I would recommend his Professional service to anyone passing through. I've passed his station 100's of times without even thinking twice about stopping. The women's bathroom was immaculate (probably because they have two hand dryers only--no paper towels) with five large stalls and a baby diaper changing station. Nothing fancy, but comfortable and convenient off the freeway. Gas prices were a bit high and we didn't need to fill the tank, so we'll wait. The female employee was friendly. read more

We were traveling from Salt Lake City to Las a Vegas. Our car started sputtering. We were hesitant to pull off into a small town, but didn't have a choice. It was refreshing to find someone trustworthy. KC was AWESOME. Excellent mechanic. He was able to diagnose the problem quickly drive to the next town to pick up the part and install it. Stopped in for bathroom and caffeine. As we were perusing the soft drinks, my wife stated that maybe she just needed to switch to coffee. The guy behind the counter heard her and made a fresh pot just for us (he told the wife "Nobody wants old coffee, do they?"). As we were paying for our goodies, which included sunflower seeds for me, he gave me a couple cups to spit the shells into. Bathrooms were reasonably clean. If nothing else, this is a good place to stretch your legs and get a drink before you drive on. read more

Cove Fort Tire Service behind the Chevron has no business listed on Yelp so I will leave this here. Shea is the man! Called him at 930 on a Friday night and he met us first thing Saturday am and replaced two trailer tires for UNDER $200 and had us on our way in under 30. He's the only game in town, he could've charged double but he's the salt of the earth so he stayed cool. This gentle giant was exactly what we needed. We were fresh off some snake encounters at the local RV park (The Hills Have Eyes Vibes over there) and needed some good news. When I looked up into those sea blue-green eyes I knew we were in good hands. He finished us off with some photos of the elk his brother shot. Quite a specimen. But truly, the hero in our story is Shea. Crown him king/mayor of this godforsaken town and free him of his tire shop duties. He deserves to be in the wild, scouting elk! read more

Beware. I was pulled over on the shoulder and I saw him thinking he was my AAA guy but he just bad mouthed the aaa guy and tried to trick or swindle us! I'm glad we didn't go with him. He tried to be smooth but we knew we couldn't trust him the way he was acting- seemed pirate like! We did notice he totally blocked my real AAA guy from coming to rescue me. While it sucks to blow a tire driving from Phoenix to Ogden, I was fortunate enough to do it just a few miles south of Cove Fort 24 Hour Towing and Repair. KC actually saw me stopped on the side and pulled his toe truck over. He had my spare on my car for me in no time so I could make it to the shop. The service was above and beyond, he even let me watch him work. He was impressively fast, and it was cheaper than I expected. A blow out is always stressful, but it was an overwhelmingly good experience. From pulling over and seeing my flat tire to rolling out of the garage with two new tires only set me back by 47 minutes. Not very many stops on this stretch of highway for gasoline or bathrooms etc. This stop offers a Subway Sandwich Shop, picnic tables, convenience store and bathrooms etc. If you need a tire change, it seems they have that available as well. Bathrooms weren't the most updated but were acceptable. The store attendant seemed nice and attentive. Found myself stuck in Monroe Utah with a truck that wouldn't start on a Saturday. Shay was there within an hour and recommended a shop for me to take my truck to. On the way we stopped at an auto part store and he was able to replace multiple things and was able to get my truck running again. I came out from the store to see him manually sawing the bracket off my ignition coil so he could install the new one. 10/10 on service. He could have easily dropped me at the repair shop and left but instead helped me get back on the road and avoid waiting until Monday when the shop was open. Best tow service and best price around. My Husband (who is disabled and on oxygen) and I stuck on Cove Fort summit with a flat tire on our travel. I was attempting to get the trailer jacked up and the lug nuts off, when out of the blue came help, Jimmy from Cove Fort Chevron and towing can up and asking if I needed help. He changed the tire, put the spare on the rack shook my hand and told us to have a safe trip. There are true heros and guardian angels. Do not come here. They refused me service because of my service dog and treated me awfully. I was yelled at by a very disrespectful woman and was not treated fairly at all. According to the ADA and Department of Justice, my dog is allowed in this store. The cops have been called and they will be fined for their actions. read more

Stopped here today to grab a sandwich and coffee, stretch our legs and give pups a potty break, but NEVER again! This place is consistently going downhill. There is nowhere on the property where you can reasonably walk pets without them getting into foxtails, stickers, burrs, etc. Also, at high temps the pavement is too hot for their paws. So, went in to grab a couple of sandwiches and not one of them was dated, plus the packaging on many of them was beginning to puff up to the exploding point. Went over and tested the coffee.... COLD! Spent maybe 2-3 minutes wandering through the place and what peeved me the most is there was no greeting at all, just a woman leaning on the counter with scowling eyes watching me. Well, watch this! So here's an update to the Cove Fort Chevron Tire Repair - located behind the Gas Station at the Cove Fort rest stop. It's been since last July that we were scammed, and on our way back to see the kids in Utah today, we decided to stop in, and see if they were still up to their "scare tactics" to get business. We saw that another rig (from Canada) was parked there, and wondered if the tire company employees would remember us? So, we parked well BEHIND the store, rather than right there next to the store - so that we weren't within their walking distance. I wasn't out of my vehicle for more than 2 minutes... probably even less, since I hadn't shut the truck door yet... when an employee came out of the tire shop.... got into HIS truck, and started driving over to us. After a very, very slow drive by, staring at our tires (the ones THEY THEMSELVES replaced last July).... he finally looked up and realized it was US. He raised his hand to wave, hit the throttle, and went around to the front of the store... then back up to the tire shop and parked in the same place. I looked at Mike and said, "I'll bet whoever owns that rig from Canada is having some kind of "emergency" with their tires too. Mike and I pulled around to the front of the store.... and I went inside to see if I could find the owners of the other rig. They were just sitting down for lunch at Subway.... I asked if they owned the 5th wheel out front, they did. I asked if they had noticed anybody from the tire store walking around it? They had... in fact, they were waiting for the "special tires" to be brought back. As all 4 tires on their rig needed to be replaced. The elderly gentleman was obviously upset, and voiced his concerns about having just replaced all 4 tires before leaving on this trip... and the employee of the tire store told him it was such a low quality tire, that he'd be surprised if the guy made it another 30 miles without a blow out. The wife was upset because the BEST deal they could get, was $1,100.00.... but she felt like she had to agree to it. Keep in mind, this is an elderly couple.... unrehearsed in the art of this company's tactics. I asked them why they felt like it was an emergency, and was told a familiar story. Apparently, this elderly couple was told that without all new tires, they would rub together and catch fire, and burn up the entire rig before they even realized they were smoking. I advised them to be cautious of this company's scare tactics, and also let them know that the tires they were waiting to have mounted could be purchased for half the price - down the road. I suggested that they at least get a second opinion, a second quote, and even research the actual cost of the tires on the internet before handing over $1,100.00. The elderly gentleman thanked me up and down, and said he initially thought he would have to go back on the tire company he originally purchased these "low quality tires" from - since he had paid extra to THEM for a good set of tires. I reminded him that I am not in a position to say either way.... and he "might" need new tires.... but, get a second opinion, and a second quote as soon as possible. just before I left the store, an employee from the tire company was approaching another vehicle parked on the side of the building... looking at his tires, and stopping the owners to discuss the "danger ahead". So my car was acting funny, sounded like my transmission was slipping a little bit. Stopped at this gas station to fill up and top off some fluid and thought it was needing transmission fluid. I have my hood open and this gentleman asked if he could be of some assistance. His name is K.C., and he works at the auto shop and his family owns that plus the gas station. I told him what was going on and he figured it was probably my transmission too. I was on my way to Denver and said I might need a tow to Denver or back to Vegas. I said no I would chance it and take it to a dealership the next day. I made it safely to my destination. But the best part was he took a test ride with me to make sure it was running ok, gave me his phone number in case I got stuck on the way over there and needed towing. Went off the road three miles north of the gas station in the snow. Tow truck was trolling the freeways looking for stranded motorists. Pulled me out in about an hour and tried to charge me $440. Then threaten to call the cops when I didn't want to pay the total. I was told it could cost me up to 300 depending on his time. Total opportunist and crook, stay away from this towing service and beware. Plenty of foul language from the driver while he was trying to strong-arm me for the total of $440. Jimmy is the best! Last weekend we were traveling from Cedar City, UT to Salt Lake City to visit my Dad and in between Beaver and Fillmore when we ran over something on 1-15 that punctured our tire. Standing outside in the cold air we didn't know what we'd do. My husband was trying to call our insurance company to come and help and they said it would be over an hour. All of a sudden this wonderful man stopped and helped us! I couldn't believe that there were still people in this world that would stop and help. His name is Jimmy and he fixed our tire and recommended where we could get the tire fixed or buy a new one in Fillmore. He is truly a good Samaritan! When driving with my son from LA to CO we began to hear a loud "thunk, thunk, thunk" sound coming from the front left tire. We pulled the car over several times and rested. (This is a used car and his 1st car that he bought as a recent high school grad present to himself.). After getting back on the freeway the sound would sometimes stop for several hours and then start up again. The sound got louder and louder as we approached the 15 and 70 freeway so we decided to pull over at the rest area. That noise was banging now as we slowly made our way to the rest area 2 miles down the road. 2 miles!! We almost pulled over on the side of the road but decided that we'd try to make it to the rest area. When pulling into the rest area there was a Cheveron Tire Service. OMG! Are you kidding??? What are the chances of that? The guys there were so nice, they heard the thunk, they checked the UHaul trailer we were towing, they checked all of the tires and they tightened the lug nuts. The tire on the front left had to be slightly remounted and the lug nut had to be tightened. Had that Cheveron not been there I am sure that my son and I would have been in a serious and perhaps deadly accident. The tires were purchased in LA and the idiot who put the new/used tire on didn't do a good job. The boys at Cheveron did not charge us a penny and didn't want the $20 that my son and I wanted to give them. I don't know how good fortune like this happens but if it was not for these kind men at Chevoron and the fact that a Cheveron was there in the 1st place is what I have to call a miracle! The kind of people that formulate an elaborate lie usually get lazy about the lie once they've won their prize. Cove Fort Chevron is no exception as they've somehow gained "Rest Stop" status while simultaneously providing the least amount of travel accommodations. Let's be clear, this is just a normal crappy gas station; poorly located; poorly maintained. There is nothing that resembles a rest stop except for three stand park tables/benches. There's no bathroom edifice to accommodate the many dozens of resting vehicles full of guests and their bloated bladders. Instead you are invited to enter the typical gas station hut with a sign that proclaims "free public restrooms inside" (wow what a luxury unheard of at other gas stations). But step inside the bathrooms and after straddling the urine and water soaked floor, and using the one working sink and the one working hand dryer, you're reminded that this is no government supported location. Except that I have a suspicion that it is indeed government supported, though the money is likely spent somewhere else. I'm sure the local public felt bad that the gas station was too unfortunately located and decided to designate the spot a rest area (complete with no less than 7 "Rest Stop" signs to convince you to pull off into the perceived paradise). Now, I know no one looks up Yelp reviews to determine whether they should pull over or chance continuing on, but I do at least want the caretakers of this location to know they're pathetic owners of a wrongfully obtain "rest stop" designation and should work immediately to gain some kind of dignity. And if that's not clear enough, put that government money into a bathroom structure that can actually accommodate more than 2 people at a time. read more

I do not recommend buying food from here. My daughter bought Nachos and not only did it not taste like Nacho cheese, it didn't taste like cheese at all. I can't explain the taste except maybe thin petroleum jelly that is colored yellow. Or snot? It was so disgusting that the whole thing was thrown away at the next exit. What a waste of money. I was so happy there was a shop here at this little stop on the road I didn't know what we where going to do. Not knowing the area the guys up at the shop where able to get us fix back up and going . They where more then willing to drive into town and get the parts we needed and get the parts store to open up after hours .
