Then sat in the lobby for 5 hours and nobody was helpful or explained anything to me. All that the staff kept saying was there are no beds available, then they said the doctors had a shift change so they said he, as if there is only one doctor in the E.R. was busy seeing the new arrival patients. After waiting 3 hours I informed a nurse that was walking around taking people's vitals in the lobby that my head was starting to hurt more and my chest felt tight, she assured me that she would let someone know. 2 hours after that no note was ever made nor was anyone told about my situation. I couldn't take it anymore, I told them I'd rather take my chances of seeing my doctor in California when I fly home in 4 days and the nurse was quick to say ok, let me take out your I.V. and if you want your results just check "mychart", when I told her I seen some results on there already but I'm not a doctor and don't understand them, she said just sign this form saying I'd follow up with my primary doctor, but basically I felt like she was just happy that I was one less patient to worry about. So if you have to go to an E.R. DO NOT GO TO UMC IN LUBBOCK!! Unless you like being treated like a number and have 12 hours to sit around twiddling your thumbs. There's 5 stars to choose to rate my experience, I was looking for the Negative 100 stars button. It's not available just like the care they didn't offer.

They ran multiple tests, beyond what I had figured they would, trying to find answers for me. They listened to my concerns and actually addressed them instead of dismissing like most Drs/nurses would. They went above and beyond to make me feel safe and heard. Would 10/10 recommend coming here for anything. I will let everyone I know this is the place to go in Lubbock. You get the small town, personal care, with big city medical knowledge.

Got through E.R. very quickly and eventually ended up in a room on the forth floor to be monitored overnight. I was served a tray of food at 7:30pm. The main meal was cold and crappy. I went to check out the dessert and this is when I realized they served me someone else's left overs. The menu had said 1 half once fruit cup and a sugar cookie. The fruit cup had fruit syrup covering the bottom of the bowl but not a single piece of fruit, a sugar cookie was place on top. No telling witch of my food items had been picked over by a obviously ill patient but it was easy to see they had served it a second time in a used uncleaned dish. There are plenty of nasty and sick people at Covenant and I haven't a clue of which one I got. It's not about a fucking fruit cup or cookie.

My son went into the facility for a minor cut on his finger. He was in and out in 30 minutes…read more That's where the good news stops. He paid $993 at the facility for his treatment. My insurance company was charged over $5,500. Now my son has an additional bill for $934!! Total: $7,500! What the actual hell is going on? We tried to call their billing line and were told they can charge whatever they want since they are private. And they aren't willing to bring down the cost. When asked how much this would've cost if we had no insurance, they told us $400 total. But since I have insurance they'll try to gig my son for $1,800 in addition to the $5,500 paid by my insurer. I'm thinking about legal council and open to suggestions. I'm certainly filing separate complaints with the Texas Medical Board in the next 5 days on: 1) Neighbors Emergency Center 2) Lubbock Texas Emergency Center 3) Altus Exceptional Physician Group, and 4) Dr. John Lang. If you have any other suggestions on who I can file a complaint with, I'd love your input because they don't make it easy to tell who is a governing body about unethical situations like this. These people are dishonest. NOTE: I'm not sure if these excessive charges are fraudulent tor not. I may try to work with my insurance company to find out if any of them are. I attached both bills where there are two identically named charges and the same Description code. Who knows? I believe there are maximums to what a facility can charge for what was minimal medical care. This is Unbelievable. Save yourself the hassle and go elsewhere.

The 1st time they threw antibiotics at her but in the same sentence told her she just had a virus. The 2nd time (one week later) she returned with the same symptoms but they were much much worse. The dr. Entered her room with a finance person and stated 'this is not an emergency' and he wouldn't treat her until she handed over her credit card and paid $200. The dr. Gave her more bogus meds. 12 hours later she was admitted to UMC for FIVE DAYS!! So much for not being an emergency. And to come at a 21 year old kid demanding money who is very sick AND has great insurance that does NOT require a co-pay is a JERK move. Save yourself and go somewhere else. I'm so angry I want to scratch all their eyes out.

After their buyout they became completely unreasonable and what I would call modern day thieves. Service that cost $150 now cost close to $1,500 with no advance warning of the policy change.
