My first review still stands i will no raise higher, but they did explain and are working on issues similar. After talking to other resident families this is not isolated and happens more frequently than it should. There care services will grant them the 3 srars. read more

NIGHTMARE-LIKE experiences of our loved one while in COVENANT WOODS NURSING HOME section. The patient, our family member, was nearly completely disabled while in rehab and recovery. Patient was actually physically abused in the middle of the night by an aide who should never have been allowed to work with any patients, ever. Our family member, who was easy going, expressed that they did not want that aide working on them as aide had acted rude and threatening. Pt was told "We have no choice", which we family witnessed. That night, during wee hours, pt was physically abused causing pain and trauma. In morning pt was very upset and expressed that they did NOT feel safe. Staff reported this to State's elder services to cover themselves and did not even offer to cover costs of private nurse family had to hire to watch pt for 2 nights before discharge.. Plus, outside medical specialist ordered a specific reduction in one med, but medical doctor of Covenant Woods Health Care mistakenly and carelessly eliminated that drug altogether. Additionally, place was terribly and dangerously short staffed, so pt had to wait 1 to 2 hours to have toileting needs met and remained all that time in own waste. Further, Pt fell onto hard floor and remained there when family walked in to visit. Family member screamed for staff, no response. Then family member had to scream again from depth of lungs even louder to get staff to hear and finally come. All of these incidents were horrifying and totally unprofessional, and more so Dangerous and Traumatic to this patient. Covenant Woods Nursing Home was Absolutely One Huge Nightmare. Take heed regarding this dreadful nursing home/rehab unit. read more
