Which is the best I could have asked for. They got to her fairly quickly, I brought her in around 6 pm and was able to pick her up at 9pm. Took her for a recheck a couple weeks later and was given more meds and got her fixed up. Will use this vet from now on.

Dr. Matt was very helpful, you could really tell he cares about animals. He told me to give him a call on Monday with an update on my puppy's health and he's really the only reason I gave any stars at all. He did give me troubling news that since my pup's testicles had not dropped yet, it could be a sign of cancer. This obviously worried me and stuck in my mind. After all was said and done, my puppy eventually got better and I called the clinic with a positive update. Still concerned about cancer, I decided to call the clinic once more a few weeks later to ask about how likely that outcome would be since the testicles still had not dropped (I'm a big worrier). I'm not sure who I talked to but she treated me like an idiot. When I asked about the likeliness of cancer, she seemed almost irritated with me and asked who it was that told me that, I said it was the vet. She put me on hold then got back on the line and told me that I MUST have misunderstood what was said and that Dr. Matt was just saying that to try and convince me to neuter him. It surprised me that a professional would just say something so serious to try and persuade a pet owner to neuter. I kept reiterating what she had said to see if she was really going to throw the vet under the bus or try and reexplain what she said. After making me feel stupid for "misunderstanding" the vet, she also tried to tell me I had my OWN dog's age wrong. Dr. Matt said that if my pup's testicles don't drop after 6 months, I should for sure get him back in or go to our regular vet. I mentioned this to her and and how he was getting closer to that 5-6 mo. mark. The breeder was a family member so there is no way I incorrect about his birthday/ age. She double checked the birth date and she back tracked and told me that I "might" be right... He was 17 weeks when I brought him in on the 6th of April ( he was nearly 4 mo. old) and I called them on the 16th of April (getting closer to 5 mo.) Overall, my experience was pretty good, but sadly that one phone call made all the difference. If I would have been shown more respect and understanding, I would have rated them much higher. Maybe it was an off day for that person or maybe she thought she could treat me like an idiot and it wouldn't make a difference.

Dr. Maria took the time to make friends with my wild child instead of just coming at her. When one of my others dogs was not happy about shots thanks to a bad experience elsewhere, the team worked with him and made sure he was comfortable and good. Both Dr. Matt and Dr. Maria have worked to help my old man with his arthritis and I am so grateful. Even though we will not be staying in the area for long, I intend to make Millard our vet and we will travel thru when we need to. Everyone at the clinic has been wonderful. They took their time and worked with her and were able to eventually get her comfortable enough to not have to wear a muzzle, which is a huge step for her. My opinion of Skyline grew even more when one of our dogs was in a car accident that required surgery out of state. Skyline was able to stabilize our dog and keep her comfortable until she could travel for her surgery, and were so involved in her aftercare. The vets, techs and front desk staff at Skyline went above and beyond for all of my dogs, which is why we decided to stay clients even when we moved further away. Dr. Sears is our vet and she is AMAZING, she takes the time to listen to your concerns and creates the best treatment plan for your pet and you. If I could give a negative rating, I would…read more We took our dog to the Gretna Animal Clinic for an annual check-up since we just moved to town. The vet (I think he's probably the owner) said our dog's nails were too long and it might hurt his joints. We were a bit behind on his nail trim schedule (we Dremel them ourselves) but by no means were they completely out of control. Long story short: The vet didn't suggest or even offer the option of trimming the nails on a regular basis to allow the quick to slowly recede, instead he told us to leave the room and cut through the quick on every single nail. They held down our dog on the counter and we heard him screaming with every snip from outside the room, which just broke my heart. When we went back in, my dog couldn't walk because of the sore nails and he was extremely scared. We were stupid to just let it happen without saying anything, but in retrospect it angered us that he put our dog through that kind of trauma without offering the obvious choice of trimming just to the quick (where it wouldn't hurt) and trimming more often, which causes the quick to slowly and painlessly recede over time. Anyone who has a dog knows how hard it is to get them to be comfortable with having their nails trimmed. It's a slow process that involves lots of treats and making the dog feel like he's not going to have his foot cut off. Our dog was a particular challenge at first as he would bite and fight, so we had to use a muzzle at the beginning. Then we slowly used treats and positive reinforcement to make it a happier, muzzle-free experience. Needless to say, this experience was a major setback for us - thank God today our dog seems to have forgotten about this experience and still lets us trim his nails with a Dremel. To boot, the assistant tech was rude, and shushed me when I was trying to ask questions. The vet is old school and basically didn't want to hear anything about what we heard on "that dang Internet", including whether or not a 10-in-1 vaccine is really necessary EVERY year (hint: it's not, but it IS a great cash cow if you're a vet). The vet is probably good at large animals but definitely doesn't have the people skills or a sense of actually caring about animals appropriate for a small animal clinic. They treated us like we were ignorant fools and we certainly felt that way to have let them treat our pet the way they did. If you have a dog, go somewhere else. You won't be sorry like I was.
