I Love this place. Dr. Maria and Dr. Matt are the best. I work traveling healthcare and had a situation happen while in transit. They came recommended and despite me not being a current client they were quick to make an appointment happen. Dr. Maria took the time to make friends with my wild child instead of just coming at her. When one of my others dogs was not happy about shots thanks to a bad experience elsewhere, the team worked with him and made sure he was comfortable and good. Both Dr. Matt and Dr. Maria have worked to help my old man with his arthritis and I am so grateful. Even though we will not be staying in the area for long, I intend to make Millard our vet and we will travel thru when we need to. Everyone at the clinic has been wonderful. Coming to Millard Vet Clinics is one of the best things we ever did for our cats. They are consummate professionals, caring, and affordable. We had tried out a few vets for our cats - a few different locations of Gentle Doctor - and we always felt they weren't caring enough, and we couldn't leave there without spending $200, minimum! But when we were recommended to try out Millard Vet Clinics, we were happy to try a place that friends and family had loved and had good experiences with. First off, I like the setup of this office a lot. Our cats get very testy when dogs are around, and Millard Vets have a separate waiting room and side for cats vs. dogs, so it's a lot less chance for them to see each other and cause a ruckus. Our first visit, we took both our cats in for their yearly shots and check-ups. Dr. Maria was so kind and understanding, especially with our older cat Conan, who is way more cantankerous than our other kitty. Gentle Doctor always wanted to put on giant gloves and hold Conan down tight to the table to examine and inoculate him, but Dr. Maria didn't want do anything like that and didn't want to traumatize him again with gloves/and restraints. Conan was still scared, though, from the previous place he went, and he was hissing and hiding under chairs and not letting anyone touch him. One of the vet techs is a literal cat whisperer, though, and could pick up Conan with no problem. It's just the way people approach him that escalates his anger/fear, and there was none of that here. Remy, our other cat, was completely fine from the jump, and let them do the check up and shots with no issue. A few days later, we noticed a bump on Remy's leg at the injection site. We went back to Millard Vet Clinics, and Dr. Sam took a look and gave us an anti inflammatory, to not start from the jump with putting him through antibiotics. She even FaceTimed me at home (my husband was at their office and I was home with our other cat), to explain everything and assure me Remy would be fine. Dr. Sam even called us the next day to ask us how Remy was doing, and we were happy to report that the swelling was already going down, and was completely gone soon after. That's just to show you that they are not so quick to throw prescriptions at things, and instead use the gentlest thing for the kitties first, before trying anything else - which I appreciate! We took Remy and Conan back recently for their annual shots and checkups, and Conan was WAY better behaved this visit. Just a little bit of hiding and one hiss, but ten times better than he had been his first time here (and every time at Gentle Doctor). Millard Veterinary Clinics, and specifically Dr. Sam and Dr. Maria are the best. I trust my cats health with them and I'm VERY protective of my cats. So I totally recommend you try them out for your fur babies and see if they are a great fit for you, as they were for us! read more

Very disappointed with the customer service while trying to get my dog, Lola, seen for an emergency. I called the clinic over 100 times, and every single time the voicemail stated that the clinic was closed for the evening (I was calling at 8:00AM), despite the website clearly saying they open at 8:00 AM. I also called the Millard West and Elkhorn locations hoping someone could help, but all I was told was that they were fully booked. No guidance, no compassion, and no attempt to help during an urgent situation. Extremely frustrating and upsetting experience when your pet needs medical attention. read more

I was impressed by this Vet during COVID until we were able to go inside for checkups. I was thankful they still took clients in the heart of COVID as some Vets did not. On our first inside vet visit we waited an extra 30 minutes which was extremely stressful with an anxious dog. Others that can in after me were still seen before us which only added to the annoyance. We saw the same vet as usual and she is always great, and loving with our dog. You can tell she really cares which is the best part about this place. The annoying thing is they would not tell me when my dog needed to be vaccinated again. I had to ask 5 different times as we were moving and I want to be prepared for the upcoming year when switching vets. That information should not be secret from an owner yet I had to shake it out of the front desk lady. Overall, the vet is the best thing about this place. You could wait almost 30 minutes for a visit and they don't have great phone service. read more

I've been bringing my orange tabby here since I got him at a year and he's now 8. Every vet whose cares for Lenny has been friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. They get along great with the animals and are also considerate about finances. Today Lenny needed his rabies booster. To save him the stress and me the time of a second visit coming soon for a different shot, they offered it today. My family has been taking our animals to this clinic for more than 20 years, even after we moved from five minutes away in Millard, to Springfield and then Plattsmouth. Though the assistants over the years have ranged from great to somewhat mediocre, the doctors have never been anything but friendly, knowledgeable, and compassionate. Since I don't have any pets at the moment, my last visit was a few years ago when my parents had to put our (my!) elderly cat to sleep, and I have vivid memories of how gentle and peaceful his passing was. The doctor gave us as much time as we needed to say goodbye after the (expected but still painful) verdict that euthanasia was the kindest option, and I was allowed to hold him as he died. We have visited mainly Dr. Dave, as Dr. Steve specialized in horses more and more as the years went on. (I was very sad recently to learn of his passing.) Recently, my mother has been taking her animals to see Steve's son Matthew at the Millard West Veterinary clinic and has also been very impressed with him. read more

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Scott at Millard West Veterinary Clinic. I had come to him for help with my dogs GI issues, after a bad experience at another clinic, and was so relieved at his thorough exam and open-mindedness. He walked into the room and immediately greeted myself and my dog, and kept referring to her as kiddo, which absolutely melted my heart. You can really tell he has a passion for what he does, and he explains everything so clearly, but isn't quick to diagnose. He spends adequate time examining the patient and symptoms and partners with you on the best path forward. 10/10 would recommend Dr Scott! read more

He is by far the best vet we've ever had and he will always tell you outright the cost of different options to help you save money. I love this clinic. It's very affordable and has a friendly atmosphere. I struggle with severe anxiety and depression, so when my cat has to go to the vet, my anxiety is at an extreme high. The vet here is extremely friendly, extremely calming, and goes into great detail when explaining different options available for my cat. I've never had a vet this good at what he does. Over the past 16 years my family and I have brought all of our dogs here. I highly recommend this vet clinic. Our first family dog lived 15 years and I strongly commend the staff here for all their years of dedication. They were always helpful and caring towards each of our dogs.
