Unprofessional Work, Skyrocketing Costs, and Worthless Warranty…read moreI cannot recommend Cal Star Mobile Home Construction. While their salesman is excellent at closing deals, the actual construction work and customer service are incredibly poor. I initially hired them for subfloor repairs in my kitchen and master bath, plus some minor work on my back porch. The initial quote seemed reasonable, so I paid the deposit. However, the scope of work quickly changed. They claimed they couldn't fix the kitchen subfloor without tearing out the tile, forcing me into an expensive new kitchen floor. In the end, the price skyrocketed under high-pressure tactics, my bathroom floor was altered, but the porch was never fixed at all. The quality of the installation is unacceptable. They cut corners by failing to run the new flooring the full length of the room, leaving unfinished gaps hidden behind my washer, dryer, and refrigerator. The flooring is also not laid tight and is separating. When I pointed this out, their "flooring specialist" dismissively asked, "You can see that?" Their warranty is completely worthless, and they didn't fix the problems. I am now forced to hire a legitimate contractor to completely redo their substandard work. Avoid this company.

We have lived at Foothill Vista for almost 10 years and it just keeps getting better and better…read more The facility and grounds are wonderfully maintained by a very active management couple. The swimming pool was completely torn out and a new one installed this past year. It is kept immaculately clean and heated to 80 degrees. The lighting and seating area around the pool are also superb, as is the huge hot tub! The ownership is extremely fair about the minimal increases they require each year. You may find other parks that look more "high end", but once you speak with some of the residents you will come racing back to Foothill Vista. There are many activities in our very comfortable clubhouse and in fact they seem quite open to suggestions for additional ones. The other residents are extremely friendly, probably since it is just a small community. Guess you can tell, we really love living here!

They will not accept the space rent from me but they lie and say that I refuse to pay it. I know that sounds crazy but that is the truth. I don't know how they get away with doing this and I doubt it's the first time that they tried to steal someone's inherited mobile home by not accepting the rent from them and then claiming that you refuse to pay it. Please please speak up if you are going through a similar situation with this mobile home park or any other Mobile home Park. I am the owner of the mobile home my name is on the title but I am not allowed to live there or sell the mobile home in place, the only option they are giving me is that I can move the mobile home to another Park or pay exorbitant fees to their lawyer for writing a very discriminatory storage agreement that he wrote just for me and that I now have to pay $17,000 for the privilege of this discriminatory storage agreement that I never wanted and as far as I know according to the mobile home residency law is not required I am supposed to be allowed to continue the lease that was in effect at the time of former mobile home owners death for the purposes of selling it or be given the option to apply for residency and pay the same space rent that former owner paid. I own this mobile home outright but I am not allowed to live there or sell it sounds crazy doesn't it? I am a senior citizen and I now will be homeless because I spent all of my savings on upgrading and repairing the mobile home that I own, and thousands of dollars on lawyers, to no avail. This has financially ruined me and the stress they have put me through is killing me.
