There is a padded walking path near Badillo Ave. Always a lot of people playing fútbol or catch in the open areas. 2/5 Bathrooms Well you do have to worry about this thing Outdated and always smells like urine. A good powerwash could help. 4/5 Parking Street parking available all around. This park doesn't have a designated parking lot. 3.75/5 Likelihood to Return While it's no longer our go to park it's still nice to be able to walk on a spongy trail. I celebrated a big birthday w/ a few family members and friends at this park. Every single guest LOVED this park. We arrived early to reserve the picnic area (first come, first serve) and there is no charge. This park is well maintained, offers so much to all park guests, is safe, and offers so much shade on account of do many large trees. Park visitors always seem to be relaxed and super friendly when spending time here. Be it while playing basketball, softball, soccer, playing tennis, pickleball, walking, jogging or simply relaxing under a tree or out in the sun etc.. being outdoors puts people in a good mood and this is one of the reasons I visit this park 5-6 times per week. Covina Park is open to the public from 5AM to 10PM. It includes a well-maintained rubber walking trail (each loop is 1/4 mile). Good bye, dirt pathways! Covina Park contains six basketball hoops, public exercise equipment, two tennis courts (w/ pickle-ball lines), public ping pong table (without paddles or ball), horseshoe gaming area (without horseshoes), play obstacle course, shiny playground, swimming pools, baseball diamond, and much more. Truly, Covina Park has blossomed into a popular local destination. When having a "rest day" from the gym, I select Covina Park for my daily cardio/walking. Recently, Covina Park feels very safe and welcoming. Commonly, there are only local residents or health-nuts getting their daily health fresh air. Speaking of "health-nut" I observed groups of squirrels happily munching by their homes. Covina Park not only has the luxury of having a soft trail, it's also accompanied by many tall trees for shade. Covina Park is very clean, well-maintained, and contains plentiful parking. Nice place, had a large picnic area for my baby shower! There are 2 play areas for kids and day was so peaceful. The only bad thing all my guests where commenting where the bathrooms. This park is always well maintained and clean. I used to bring my kids here for swimming lessons when they were toddlers, and the program was excellent. I've also attended a couple birthday parties here, and each visit brings back great memories. It's always nice to take a stroll down memory lane whenever I come back to this park. read more

Last week, I took my toddler to Cortez Park to play on the playground. Unfortunately, it is under construction, so I remembered seeing Covina Park with a new playground and took him there instead. The playground looks brand new and has a cushion walking area under the jungle gym equipment. There's lots of trees nearby, so you can get some shelter from the sun. The little guy played on both sets of equipment, which included slides, steering wheel, butterfly ladder, raised stepping stones (not stone though), and stairs. Overall, an excellent experience for him. The only reason we left early was because two classes of elementary students (I think 4-5 graders and most not wearing masks) took over the playground around 4pm or 4:30pm. I really love this park and have been bring my kids for 4 years now. They see a lot of their friends from school here which is a plus. This is also a community center that has art classes for children and swim lessons. They also have a small track where people walk day and night. A few little workout areas where you can go and do your thang. There is also ping pong tables and a little runner course like a jungle gym. They also have a basketball court. On the weekends the parks are full of people having birthday parties and weekdays are less people. Sometimes children are unsupervised which is sad. I will continue to come to this park read more

I am lucky to live so close to this park and even more so feel that I can truly enjoy the space with all the recent upgrades, some of which were enjoyed by my kids and their cousins. It was dusk and we decided to come out and play at the park. The play space is low profile making it easy to see kiddos from various perspectives - always a bonus for a vigilant parent. The kiddos really enjoyed the adapted merry go round. I was glad for its automatic stop safety feature which minimizes the potential for a leg or arm getting stuck underneath. As we drove home I also noted the sponge running track with exercise stations around the perimeter - a no-excuses bonus to enable me to exercise . Next time I'll visit earlier in the day; give my kids time to play, and use the track. read more

There were several homeless people camped just outside the restrooms, so there was that. Also, the men's restroom was a total mess. The playground was fine, though. There are two playgrounds here, with different playground equipment to choose from. My kids had a good time sliding down the slides and playing pretend in the little houses. There are a couple of benches to sit on, and there are lots of shady places in the grass to relax on and cool off. For a fee, you can swim at the public pool, which was open while we were there. read more

My new sneakers arrived and I decided to break them in during a recent visit to Covina Park. CP has changed a lot since I last visited and I was pleasantly impressed. CP is big and encompasses an entire block. I love the latest improvements because they enhance the local city park experience. The newer improvements include new exercise equipment stations dotted around the park. They provide a free healthy workout and I do recommend bringing sanitizer, gloves, towels, and wipes to clean the your hands and equipment before using. The park's ambiance is overall friendly and clean. The park has some interesting history, which I was unaware about. There's a dedication plaque dated 1930 on a building attached to the park. There's plenty to do here or enjoy: picnic tables, walking/running paths, exercise equipment, basketball and tennis courts, kid's playground area, benches, dog area, free parking, shady trees, grass areas, clean public restrooms, swimming/an aquatic center, horse shoe area, and more. Great place to picnic in the City of Covina. Since many places limited their dining options and have left many to awkwardly eat in their cars or elsewhere, the park provides many tables and benches to enjoy your takeout in the outdoors. There is a public restroom open during the day which is a relief since so many places have closed their public restrooms. However, I would recommend to carry some extra toilet paper and soap with you. The park is well kept, and many trash cans nearby. Great park for kids! They have a mommy and me swing so an adult can ride with their baby. Lots of slides and non of the wood chips. This park is all spongey ground. They even have an obstacle course on turf. If you go early in the morning it's still shaded. I would have given it 5 stars if there was more shade. Overall a great park. read more

Covina park officially added a lot of new features about a month ago and it is amazing. I have a toddler and this is no doubt her favorite part. They added multiple jungle gyms, swings, swings for two, a boat that rocks, workout equipment for adults, a walking track, jump boxes etc. This park really stepped it up. Disappointed, called today 7/26/22 that as a RESIDENT Covina decided that there would be NO recreational swim for our children this year! With all the revenue the city has had this year due to new development they can't have a couple of hours of rec. swim at our facilities as tax payers and residents! read more

Cool park, has a pool for summer. Nice place to picnic and areas to jog in. A lot of people flock to this park because it has a pleasant atmosphere of serenity. Just to lay on your back staring up into the trees and looking at the clouds dashing by, brings back your youthful days. It is well maintained and occassionally they do have bands that entertain people here, but lately I haven't seen any. Most people clean up after themselves, so overall you will enjoy yourself and have a great time. This park is so cool! It has everything! When I first got here I only saw the seating area and jungle jims. I sat on a warped out bench which I thought was funny and set the wolf pack loose to burn off their energy!!! Lol! After while watching the kids I started to get bored so I yelled out "Pandas!!!!!" Good park, needs updating of the children's play area and the sand needs to be replaced with plastic wood chips. The sand is annoying as it gets everywhere, the uneven surface has led to our son falling a few times too. We now go to Glendora at Finkbiner Park as its superior. Covina Park, overall, is a nice park. Plenty of trees for shade. A walking path. Public swimming pool. Outdoor stage for concerts and events. A decent play area for children, as well as areas for baseball, tennis, basketball, horseshoes, and general tossing the ball around sort of stuff. Additionally, there are plenty of tables for picnicking and lunch breaks, or for simply sitting down and relaxing. The park has probably seen thousand of children's birthday parties. Also, dogs are allowed as long as they are on a leash, and it seems for the most part the owners clean up their dog's mess once they finish their business. There are also a lot of squirrels that live in the park, so if you're into watching them run about, you will definitely have a day watching them. So what brings Covina Park down? The endless stream of hobos, drunks, and potheads. Yes, I sympathize with the plight of the homeless, but there are times when I say "Sorry, it isn't an excuse". I don't think that there is anything overly dangerous, but I still keep a watchful attitude as well. The hobos/drunks basically live at the park throughout the day, since there is really nothing the police can do to chase them off unless they are bothering someone. Some of the hobos/drunks gather together to "chew the fat", while others stand off by themselves and staring into space. Lastly, some of the hobos simply lay out their bedding and blankets, crashing out and snore the day away. By nightfall, most (but not all) have drifted off to other locations, since at night the Covina Police will harass them and chase them off. The weed smoking is pretty much tolerated. Although, again, it is usually being done by the hobos, others light up as well. Now, I really don't care if you want to live a life of a hobo, or if you want to drink yourself into a stupor, or if you want to light up a blunt, or all three. That is your business, and all the power to you. But when you consider that this is a park, and that children are at the park (who really don't need to see this sort of thing), as well as others who really don't want to see this stuff going on, can you just go and do it somewhere else? There are plenty of empty parking lots. Do it there. I only wish the City of Covina wouldn't tolerated as much as the city does. I know there will be others who will say that these people are harmless, but these same people aren't being buddies to them either. And I know there will be others who will say that they have a right to be at the park like everyone else, but being at the park and LIVING at the park are two different things. That's how I see it at least. I don't go to the park as often as I use to, taking my walks around my neighborhood (yes, in Covina). Covina Park is still a nice park, it just needs a "tuneup". read more

I never realized that this park was so big. After many years of procrastinating on taking a belly dancing class, I finally got myself to get up and do it. I lost the registration form so I wasn't able to pre-register. There was a note on the class info - preregistration recommended. That didn't stop me. I was determined. There are too many things in my life that I always say I wish could've done and always wanted to do. I'm tired of saying, Hey! I've always wanted to take a belly dancing class! Now I'm saying, I AM taking a belly dancing class! and it's super fun! :) The class location said recreation hall of Covina Park. I've been to this park a few times before. I've been here for a birthday party and a few times for Halloween. They have a Halloween Carnival everywhere year, the kids and I always enjoy it. There's plenty of street parking all around the park. The first part is the baseball diamond. I passed by the little kids starting out with tee ball, thinking that I should've enrolled my little one in that...but then again had second thoughts about it because he probably would not be on his behavior. There are basketball courts as well. There are three different playground areas that I had never noticed before. I was starting to feel like I had never been to this park at all. Where the heck was this recreation hall? I parked and walked towards the building that would look like the recreation hall. The sign on the door said "Teen Center". I peeked in and saw pool tables, video games, and a cool little lounge. I was wow'd. I continued with my mission and passed by another sign that said "pool closed." Whoa! There's a pool here??? I looked over the fence and sure enough there was a huge olympic-size pool covered for the season. That is too cool! I am sooo going to check that out next summer! I started to feel a little lost when I noticed another building in the back with more cars parked in front of it. There was the sign - "Recreation Hall". I walked in not really knowing what to expect with a belly dancing class. Would I be the only one? Would it be a bunch of older ladies looking for something to do on a Tuesday night? To my surprise, there were all sorts of women in there in all shapes and sizes. Pretty impressive. I'm glad I made the decision to take the class. This park was upgraded with new slides and rope climbing games. They still have the large plane in the middle if the park for some extra fun. My son trued some of the upgrades but this park seems a little more like big kids park. I guess at the age of 4 any park is fun. I came here to bring my daughter to the park but I never knew this park had classes for children. I recently enrolled my daughter in a Ballet class with teacher Shawna and my 4 year old loves it. The teacher makes the class really fun by dancing to Disney music. She's very attentive to their needs. I love this class and the teacher. My daughter started with children her age but had to move to the next level because she caught on fast. She has also taken swimming class in this park. read more

If you're wondering, 'can I smoke a blunt at this park and not get Covina SWAT called in' then apparently the answer is, 'yes.' I smelled very stinky weed on my last visit and the culprits were blasé when two older men supplanted their cypher @ the horseshoe pit. There are two playground areas; one for kids 1-3 and the other 4-up. There are baby swings, decent public restrooms, tennis courts and plenty of green space.
