This is a nice cozy park to have a picnic. The dog can play in the dog park and the kids can explore the play structure. The fact that there's a pair of toddler swings and a pair of big kid swings allows for fun for four kids at a time. The tree canopies help keep the park tables and benches cool and shaded from the sun. One BBQ sits with two 6-seating park tables. The other BBQ is with three. A single park table for four is at the foot of Centennial Heritage Park. The ground covering for the play areas utilize old tires, providing soft crash landings and bouncy steps.

Wilderness. Empty. Surrounded by city. This place is something special. The side by the freeway is complete isolation. Bring water. Get lost. Best lost workout ever. I am writing this right now as I am lost. You can easily spend over two hours on various trails.

My family and I love this park! They recently remodeled, and it's soo nice! It has a dog park for your pups to play in, a nice playground for the kids, and hiking trails for the hikers! It has everything for the whole family to enjoy! There is also bathrooms and drinking fountains for you and your pet! I highly recommend comin here to play!

A very nice community Park w/surprisingly adequate hiking trails that extend above & beyond the park for a more superior workout. The large & small dog parks are also nice & clean with water, balls & little obstacle courses to enjoy.

South hills is a great park to go on a minor hike, walk your dog or just have a picnic. I live local so I often visit this park. Sometimes I will take my mountain bike on the trails as well. Enter from Bonnie cove and Gladstone.

Small but fun playground for the kids. Picnic tables under shade trees. Nice (clean!) bathrooms, working drinking fountains. This was a great place to meet up with friends and our respective children! It is tricky to find, so don't depend on google maps if you just search for South Hills Park. You need to drive specifically to 701 E Mauna Loa Glendora.

A local hidden trail and dog park. My review is for the trails, which can be perfect for beginning hikers or if you want to get in a quick run/hike in less then an hour. You can access the trail off of Bonnie Cove Ave north of Gladstone St. The trail heads for Bonnie Cove East or Bonnie Cove West are found here and will take you on a steep inclined trail on top of the hill. You can see the trail and hill off the 210fwy between the Grand Ave exit and Sunflower exit. On top of the hill you can just explore around the top. You can also access about 3 different trail heads that lead to the same peak as the Bonnie Cove trails from South hills Park. These trails are found adjacent to the dog park. These trails are not very popular and the times Iv gone, I have only seen about 3 other hikers/runners each time. But, I enjoy the solidarity. The trails is not worth driving out of your way for, but if you live nearby, it's worth a look. You can get in about 2-3miles of trails, depending which routes you take. I generally like to incorporate the trail hills into my road run route, so it works out perfect for me.

    The beginning!

There is a cafe/ convenience store across from the campground where you can also purchase your day use park pass for $5. I experienced a foggy day, which gave a cooling effect to my hiking. Restrooms are vault toilets, so unpleasant smells and a mess are a given. The lake has lots of swampy algae, therefore not appropriate for swimming or water sports. However, they do allow fishing with permit. I am a nature enthusiast and it was saddening to see the lack of humans respect for nature, with graffiti and trash in some areas of the park. Crystal lake definitely could use more funding to preserve its natural beauty. The loveliest part is listening to woodpeckers as they work, watching an eagle fly above with a fish in its talons, and treading quietly not to startle the squirrel who is crossing my path. I suggest picking up a map with hiking trails from the rangers post or convenience store, before planning your day!

CT is a popular trail for birding, hiking, bikers and dog walkers. The trail's main base entrance is at N. Loraine ave in a posh cul-de-sac residential area. This trail is not for novice hikers! As an experience hiker myself, my heart rate went 130 bpm as I hiked those steep inclines. Furthermore, you'll find abundant wild flowers, trees and Mountain Lion growling or hissing at the bushes. The Colby Trail has very limited tree shades and very steady elevation gain incline. It is has two parts, a lower and upper trails which was divided by the main Glendora Mountain road. This trail has four very steep inclines to get to the Summit of CT. Summit has a peak of ~1,580 ft with mind-blowing views. Parking was super easy. Cell signal was spotty as you ascend the trail. Hikers and their dogs were friendly. Overall, I liked hiking Colby trail and recommend it.
