HORRIBLE! I am trying to get to my birthday dinner and I called 1 hour in advance. The man on the phone said I should call back 15 minutes before I need the cab. I call back at 7:15 and they dispatch a cab. The cab driver calls me 5 minutes later, has no idea where he is, where I am, or how to get here. Turns out he is about 30 minutes away and I have to give him directions to my place. I told these folks it was my birthday dinner too. Ridiculous!! I called back and I tried to tell two people at Cowboy Cab why telling me to call 15 minutes in advance and then not providing a cab until 30 minutes later was misleading. I asked if they had any drivers closer to me. They didn't seem to understand what was wrong with what they said. In fact, the first gentleman asked me if I could wait 30 minutes, and when I said I had an important dinner to get to, he hung up on me!! I called back and explained my situation to the second person who told me the first guy cancelled my taxi! I called yelllow cab and they sent a cab over in 15 minutes....as promised. I've used them several times but this is it. They take tour order, call a cab but DJ t actually make sure it's on the way. as a result, about a third if the time I've wait over thirty minutes (after being told 10-15) only to call back and have to remind them. Don't bother with them unless you enjoy betting on if the cab will show up. read more

I called Cowboy cab at 6:24am for a pick up time of 7:20am. At 7:30am no cab had arrived, so I called to check on the status and was assured a cab would be there in 10 minutes. I called several more times, each time being told a cab would be there in less than 10 minutes. I waited in the rainy drizzle for over 50 minutes before the cab finally arrived. The cab driver was flustered and took me to the wrong gate and the wrong level. I was not able to make my flight, and had to take a flight out 2.5 hours later and pay a $75.00 change fee. Once at the airport and checked in, I called Cowboy cab and spoke with the dispatch manager, George. He is one of the people I spoke with who answered my call at some point this morning. I asked him to have the owner, Sonya Rasier, call me back to make this right. I have been using Cowboy cab once a week for over a year now and had never had an issue with a cab being more than 15 minutes late. I requested that she call me back because I was very unsatisfied and expected to be reimbursed the $75.00 change fee and wanted to give them the opportunity to make it right. Neither Sonya or anyone else from Cowboy Cab called me today. I called again this afternoon and asked to speak with someone in charge or that I was going to report them and they hung up on me. I called back and was told they didn't hang up on me (even though the phone disconnected), and was transferred again to the front desk. The phone kept ringing with no one answering. I am very upset that they would treat a loyal customer who has given them so much business so poorly. I am shocked they have made no attempt to apologize, reimburse or make it right. read more

I can say I had a bad experience with at least one other large Dallas cab company, Cowboy, who ran late a few months ago but never called me to let me know they were experiencing a problem. When I called to find out why no driver had arrived, they claimed the driver was 10 minutes away. However, after another 20 minutes and no updated call, I had to get a family member take me to the airport. No one ever called to apologize or explain what had happened. read more

Cowboy Cab did not show up to take us to the airport for our vacation June of 2012. They called 15 minutes before they were to be here and said they were still looking for someone to come get us. We had made a reservation several days ahead of time, and were expecting them here. We ended up leaving the house 15 minutes later than we planned, as they never showed up and we had to drive ourselves, thus incurring ten days of parking fees at the airport that we hadn't planned on, either. Once home, I called to find out what happened. They were rude and said there is never a guarantee that a cab will be there, even with a reservation. Just had the worst experience. I am going from DFW to DAL. I requested a cab that I was told would be there in 15 mins. My husband I waited 30 mins....no cab! I called to find out where it was b/c I was literally standing outside in remote south parking, in the open lot....waiting. I was advised that my car was cancelled b/c I didn't answer my cell. I had no missed calls and had my phone out in hand! The dispatcher proceeds to give me a lecture about how she'll send someone else but this time I need to answer b/c a cab won't come if I don't answer! She then tells me someone is calling me as I'm on the line w/her (there was no call coming in). This was not appreciated as a consumer. I got annoyed and told her forget. I was recently in Dallas for a Mary Kay seminar. After five days of jam-packed activities, we took a cab van on our last night from Cowboy Cab Co. It wasn't until the next morning that we realized that we left our professional camera and some of my Mary Kay awards, valued over $1800 in the cab! The driver returned the camera and the camera bag, with all contents, was shipped back to us in Maryland. DON'T USE A CREDIT CARD! Pay in cash only. I have been in a dispute with Cowboy Cab/Ranger Taxi since AUGUST 2010. They or their drivers keep charging my credit card AUTOMATICALLY ever other month. I am trying to work this out with them and the young lady at Cowboy Cab is checking into this but DON'T GIVE THEIR DRIVERS A CREDIT CARD. COWBOY CAB (Fort Worth): I called for a taxi 30 mins ahead of time, dispatcher was vey nice and said no problem to having a taxi meet me.... after 45 mins had passed and nobody showed up I called dispatch again to find out that there was no taxi in the area to pick me up. Nobody called me to let me know. Finally they were able to find me a taxi and he showed up 30 mins after that. When he picked me up it was an hr and 15mins after my original pick up time. While driving me to my next location, the driver was hardly paying attention and made me extremely nervous riding with him. To top it off, this experience caused me to be 1 hr late to work! I called COWBOY CAB as Yellow Cab had horrible reviews about being late etc., but next time I will take my chances and go with Yellow Cab!! read more

I am a driver for Cowboy Cab. I am about to give you an insiders view of Cowboy. We have many drivers here who have worked for the competition. They will tell you that the competitors don't discipline their drivers. When you have a problem with a Cowboy/Ranger driver, our call staff writes it up immediately. The owners manage this company hands on during normal business hours Monday through Friday. I have never seen Owners of a company this size have this much personal touch to their company. I greatly respect this aspect since working for trucking companies with over 8,000 trucks and drivers. It is nice to be called by your name. I don't just consider them to be my bosses but family because they treat everyone here like family. We are also the only company in town with card reader in the back seat so that the customer never has to hand the driver their card. If you lose an item in one of our cabs we go to great lengths to return it. If you need a cab and want to talk to a live call taker and not an automated system, we will do all that we can to get your ride to you. I ask for your understanding though, we are not magicians and can't blink and make taxis magically appear in front of you. We also don't have cabs on every city block in the metroplex. Please feel free to leave us as many reviews and stars as you feel necessary. We love to hear how our company is doing at all times. Take a picture of your drivers cab number with your camera phone before you get in or of the drivers front dash sheet. You will find his/her cab number there or on the rule sheet on the back of the passenger seat. This helps us reward good drivers, locate lost items as well as handle any complaints and ALWAYS ASK FOR A PRINTED RECEIPT FROM THE METER ON THE DASH. This will have the cab number and the time you used our cab as well. This is especially helpful when you lose something in one of our cabs. For the second time, I was left stranded by Cowboy Cab. I had called the night before I was leaving for vacation to have a cab pick me up to go to DFW Airport. At the time they were to be at my apt, no one was there. I called and they said they were trying to get a car to me, but I didn't have the time to wait and see. Very unreliable! UPDATE 7:50 AM -- So I called one of the owners at home to get the Dir. of Ops number. The owner said he was out of town and what were my issues? -- Well, first she asked me how did I get her number & then she wanted to know how did I know she owned the company & then she wanted to know my issues. LOL!! She has no clue how the internet works. I told her the full story & she dismissivly said the 2 girls would be fired and that she would call them and call me back. She calls me back 10 minutes later and says that her records indicate I was going to Love Field. I explained to her, that I called Ranger Cab after Cowboy didn't show up after an hour but I asked to be picked up at home. ** So, apparently Ranger Cab & Cowboy are owned by the same family. ** Who knew? When I tried to explain to her again exactly what happened she said she would call me back. I then get a call from the Dispatch Supv. at Cowboy asking why did I call the owner in the first place and that she had nothing to do with dispatch. She said the owner had told her to call me and tell me that. When I explained, YET AGAIN, what had happened she said that there was nothing that she could authorize. I asked when the Director of Ops would be back she would said there was nothing they can do until Monday & the best she said she could do was give me a complimentary ride from my home to the bus station but that they were not going to pay for a $200 ride to my home. So there you have it, folks! I mean, it is a taxi co. So of course they are shady but seriously -- if you're going to play in the corporate leagues, at least TRY to have a little professionalism. So I will be getting home for Thanksgiving at 10:30 tonight. Thanks Ladies! if I could give you -5 stars you better believe I would. You are indeed the least professional company I've ever dealt with... -- OLD REVIEW -- It's Thanksgiving morning at 5:50 a.m.I have been waiting for a Cowboy Cab for 2.5 HOURS!! At 3:35 a.m. the dispatcher told me 10 - 15 minutes eta. After 30 minutes, I called back only to be told by the dispatcher that the driver had cancelled the call and they hadn't noticed. The dispatcher then said they would send a new cab out in 10 to 15 minutes. I urge them to hurry because I was going to miss my flight back home where my dying sister will be spending her last Thanksgiving alone.10 minutes later, I get a call from my driver saying that he is again only 10 minutes away. I wait another 20 minutes and call him directly back. He texts me two words: "I'm driving." And I never hear from him again even after texting him an hour later. Oh. Kay... So the dispatch never called me back to say it had to cancel my ride. They never let me know any kind of ETA. When I called them back, an extremely rude, different female dispatcher said, "they were very, very, very busy and they would get to me when they could; this is Thanksgiving." I said, "Its 5 a.m. in the morning and you're busy?" "Yes." and then she just stopped talking, so I hung up. I then called to speak to a supervisor. They put me on hold for 10 minutes. And then the rude dispatcher got back on the phone in a very sweet voice and tells me that the call did not transfer to the supervisor and that she would try again. Now, in the background, I can actually hear the 1st dispatcher giggling and calling me. My phone's second line rings and I pick up and tell her exactly what I just heard and she goes quiet. Upon which time, I just politely said nevermind and hung up. These are children making minimum wage playing with people's lives. They cost me hundreds of dollars and probably the last holiday I ever get to spend with my entire family. I'm so disgusted and upset -- You had better believe I will be finding the CEO, the VP of Operations, the Better Business Bureau, and every other Reddit, Google+, Yellow Pages review website I can find and repeating this story. If you use these guys, make sure you have exact change! I rode with them on 5/2/14 and the driver refused to give me back the change I asked for. I don't mean he didn't have the change - I literally saw him with it. I don't mean he accidentally gave me the wrong change back. I mean he literally REFUSED to give me back the amount I asked for because he was unhappy with the tip I left him, so he took an extra $5 for himself. Sorry to sound like a jerk but the driver doesn't decide how much the client leaves him. Needless to say I didn't use this company again during my stay in Dallas after that experience. yesterday, I was in Trinity Mill station between Dallas and Denton at 11:30 p.m. with my sister. we needed a taxi to go to Denton. I called them and they told me the taxi would be there 25 minutes later. We waited for 50 minutes and it did not show up. I called them again and they told us that they do not have an available taxi yet to send for us. I was so furious and told them why they did not mention that they do not have any taxi available so i could call another taxi service. the time was 12:30 a.m. and we were scared. I had to call many friends to find one of them awake to come and take us to denton. It takes my friend to come there like 20 minutes and then at 1 a.m. we got into his car. Half an hour later, the Cowboy Cab called me to see if I still need a taxi... I was just mute as i could not talk! read more

I called Cowboy Cab, first the person on the other end had no idea where McDermott was, how can you run a can company in Dallas and not know the major roads? Then I sat outside of Braums for an hour, so long they called the police to see what I was doing waiting outside their store for so long. I called them again to see what they were doing and they said that they hadn't even sent a driver yet so I called a different company. My story starts at Dallas Love Field arriving from a trip with my mother & sister where the cab driver didn't even have the courtesy to get out and load our bags. After a very slow ride to Frisco, we arrived at my home where the driver again didn't get out to even help us unload our bags. Instead, he immediately asked me for cash & got an attitude when I told him I was paying with a card. He spent the next 5 mins trying to convince me to use cash & I had to explain to him that I was not using cash. After I refused his request, he was irritated and started telling me that it would be a higher price than was posted on the meter because I was using my credit card. Then, he took the next few mins making me wait for him to get the credit card machine ready. After this debacle, I rushed to get inside my home away from that man. I walked straight in & realized immediately that in the process of him arguing with me about my choice of payment, that I had left my phone in his cab. It wasn't even 2 minutes after I had stepped out of the cab that we started calling their office to retrieve my phone. I am a business owner and my phone is an important asset to my business. An unconcerned lady at the cab company informed me that the cab had no radio so my only option was for her to send him a message that he may respond to by today or tomorrow at the latest! I asked them if they could reach him through his cell phone & was told that they don't have his cell phone number. Really??!! This man works for them & they have NO way to reach him? I was told to be patient & he may respond quickly. After about 10 minutes, I called back assuming that they would reach him quickly & I was rather frantic. The lady that answered the phone this time was treating me like a toddler & talking to me like one as well & asked me on the SECOND call if I wanted to file a report. THE FIRST LADY DIDN'T EVEN TAKE A REPORT? Can you believe it? I filed a report & made numerous repeat calls assuming that they were equipped with todays technology & would be able to reach him in a reasonable time. Every phone call, they were updating me on his location at the time (which upset me even more because they can track his location but can't reach him to tell him that a customer mistakenly left an item?). My fear was growing that someone would take my phone & have access to my personal information. I asked them if I could chase him down since they had GPS on his location & they said yes. At this point, I jump in my own vehicle & the chase is on. They led me from Frisco to Plano to Richardson to Dallas. I couldn't believe that a driver that had driven so slowly could be moving to all these locations that quickly during rush hour. It wasn't just unbelievable, it was impossible! The last location they gave me was downtown Dallas & when I called, they got an attitude with me rudely saying "He's a driver! That's what he does for a living! He is just going to keep driving all around the DFW". I returned to Frisco distraught & knowing that they lied to me. At that point, I called the company again & asked to speak to someone in a higher position & was connected with a dispatcher. He informed me that my cab ONLY goes to & from Love Field & that is their reasoning behind not having a radio in his particular cab because the airport cabs don't need to be contacted by their company. I guess they didn't see a need or they didn't care enough about their customers that might find themselves in a situation similar to mine. I explained to him that I cannot understand such policies considering they are transporting people to and from the airport and I can't be the first to accidentally leave an item. Either way, why wasn't I informed of him being an airport only cab out of Love Field before they sent me on a chase? They could've saved me a lot of time if they had just told me he only works from the airport! Also, I feel compelled to mention that the dispatcher that I talked to was extremely rude talking through the radio while I am on the phone with him & ignoring me when I spoke. At one point, he even had a discussion with the office personnel explaining that I still don't understand their policy & he told them he guesses he's just going to have to explain it to me again in an annoyed voice. Once we had the information that we should've been given in the first place, we contacted Love Field and they sent an attendant out to the cab & retrieved our phone gladly for us. Upon arriving at the airport, I was told by an attendant that they "almost had to fight the cab driver to get my phone back & the cab driver was trying to hold on to my phone in hopes that I would give a big tip. Seriously? This was 2 days ago and I still haven't received a follow up call from Cowboy Cab about this. Their drivers, dispatchers, and call center employees are a disgrace. BAD BUSINESS!! So I called and left a voicemail to the number provided and left my information AND I wrote an email to the email provided on yelp, it is now Monday February 23, 2015 and I still haven't gotten a response back...in my line of industry we THRIVE on customer satisfaction. Clearly you need a refresher course in customer etiquette because your company doesn't posses a single trait. Not only was I robbed of money, almost literally, I received a fake "empathy" note on a PUBLIC website to show that upper management tried to care. You have absolutely NO empathy in regards to your customers. Word of mouth is the most prevalent way of advertising and I can PROMISE you I will never use your company again. Never in a million hears will I use Cowboy Cab again. I called 3 hours in advance and made a reservation to be picked up and transported to the airport in Dallas. 5 minutes after my pick up time, I called to ask the status of my ride, they said he will be there in a minute or two. 10 minutes later I called to ask where my driver is and they assured me he was close. 10 minutes later a driver calls me to say he is 15 to 20 minutes from me and he is my new driver. I tell hi. I will likely miss my flight if he takes 20 minutes. He says he will hurry. 25 minutes later, I call him back and he says they cancelled him for me and assigned another driver that was closer to me. I call Cowboy Cab to ask the location of my driver and they say "he's on his way". I ask Shari, I want to know exactly where he is and she says "he's on Hillcrest". I ask what cross street on Hillcrest and she says "he's on Hillcrwst" (not helpful). Then I say "what's your name again?" And she hangs up on me. I wait 15 more minutes and call again and much to Shari's disappointment, I get her again. I ask her to have the driver assigned to me to call my cell phone so I can determine exactly how far away he is. He called and I did not take out my absolutely livid frustrations on him. Because it's not his fault...he picks me up one hour past my reservation time and delivers me to Love field. Needless to say, I missed my flight and didn't get home until 6 hours after I had planned. I caught a cab with a friend on Saturday 05/16/15 and was picked up by cab with identification ranger 819. not only was the driver beating on the meter as it wouldn't start, he loudly said "f***ing shit" and was very aggressive. I wanted to get out of the cab so quickly, I accidentally left my iPhone in the cab. As soon as I realised I had left my phone in the cab I set about trying to get it back. That was Saturday afternoon. I have called the company multiple times, been transferred to the dispatch manager, who I left a message for but am still waiting for a return call, sent a text to the drivers cell, the company has sent a message to the drivers cell, sent 3 emails, asked for return calls, and nothing. NADA ZIP. I will be laying a complaint with the BBB about this company as they are dishonest, have very poor customer service, and i WILL be laying a claim against them. I have multiple people assisting me with this and the complaint has been laid with police, which they know. Do they care? NOPE. STAY AWAY PEOPLE...bad bad read more
