Me and my coworker used this service today to get from the hotel to our airport. Uber was unavailable so we had to use Yellow Cab. It's been a long while since I used a cab. The price was a bit expensive but not the worst in the world compared to a ride share. Our issue was the driver and the vehicle. The driver was falling asleep behind the wheel, the vehicles engine was dying. There were times where the taxi was shaking and we'd be going from 65 to 45 mph randomly. The worst part was after we got dropped off at the airport. The vehicle ran out of gas. We at least got our receipt and we were on our way so the rest was history read more

**AVOID***AVOID***AVOID*** Where to start... I took two very simple trips with this company. One from the DFW airport to my hotel in Market Center. And another two miles down the street from my hotel in the morning. First, they don't honor the flat rates stated on the website. When you talk to the driver, they act like they don't understand what you are taking about. Then, they won't even honor the higher estimated fare you get while using the app. They charge extraneous fees for "waiting" when they do not wait on you at all. They clearly start the clock the minute they drive onto the property, not when they pick you up. The driver missed an exit and charged me for it. He actually asked me where to go and he had a GPS right in front of him. You can't be serious. He actually kept the clock running while he found a parking spot at the hotel and maneuvered to back into the spot. I was laughing. The guy overcharged me $22. Then, a mysterious charge for $10 shows up on my bank statement from "Curb Dallas Taxi," an app which I never used but that you find advertised in the taxi when you get in. Still scratching my head on that one. There is zero customer support. The number provided on your receipt is the number for booking and it's automated. The email provided for credit card disputes? You can email them, but they won't respond. I have email tracking that shows they opened it. The most that helps me is with the dispute I will make with my credit card company. It's a free-for-all I'm telling you. If you don't care about what you are charged and just need to get somewhere, take Yellow Cab Dallas. If you do care about your money, take an Uber. read more

9/24/24 - Absolutely no respect or consideration and terrible treatment from Yellow Cab and from Cowboy Cab today. I am a U.S.M.C. Disabled Veteran and I don't drive. I have 5 upcoming Vet appointments coming up through 10/8/24 at Seagoville Vet Hospital. First Cowboy Cab never showed up or even had the respect and consideration to call me that they were not coming. I reschedued for a few hours later at the Vet Hospital and the lady at Yellow Cab even apologized for Cowboy Cab and quarenteed me she would even call me when they were on their way. How is this company even functioning? Worst service and the people that pick up the phone are rude. They confirmed a ride to the airport with even a text. When I called to find out where the cab was at the arrival time: they simply said no one accepted the ride!! Then why send a confirmation??? Another trip to Dallas, another attempted scam by Dallas taxi drivers. Despite info clearly saying that the flat rate from Love to CBD is $18, their driver wanted to charge my card $25. Umm, no. He then argued that there was no flat rate, despite HIS OWN tariff sheet clearly showing it. The next argument was that it was "outdated". Try again, sir. The last attempt was when he tried to tell me that tariff was for busy times and it was slow now so...I don't know? Anyway the arguments stopped when I offered to get a police officer to adjudicate. The final delight was standing around for 15+ minutes while the driver attempted to get his card reader to work. Should be very exciting to see what scam charges show up. What a bunch of assholes, seriously. I travel all the time and Dallas is far and away the worst for this kind of BS. Such a poor reflection on an otherwise great city. We were delayed and had to stay overnight in Dallas. While American Airlines gave us vouchers for hotel, transportation and food, not all would be honored by the companies in the area. The transportation voucher we were given does not state what company to use, which is important because there is only one that takes the transportation vouches, if you guessed it I mean Yellow Cab Dallas! When I called Inwas very specific that I was using a travel voucher from American, the woman I spoke with assured me they took the voucher and booked the cab. Can gets here and he says he doesn't take them. So now, I have to pay out of pocket and take it up with American Airlines. Which would be fine, except I contacted yellow cab Dallas and they said the drivers are supposed to take the vouchers. The driver said no, it was their choice. I wouldn't care, if they kept track of what driver did and did not do the voucher!! I already hope to never be stuck in Dallas again, but if I am I will certainly never use this company. read more

We were picked up at DFW by Cab #0688 (sticker on windshield) #Y032 was on the back of cab on 7/14/11. We asked the driver if he knew how to get to the Avis center on S Cooper in Arlington. He assured me that he did. I told him that I had directions if he needed them and he said that he didn't. He either didn't know his way or he took advantage of us by taking us totally in the wrong direction and really ran up the meter until I caught on to what he was doing and made him turn around. The meter was $52, it probably should have been 1/2 that. He cheated us and my request fora partial refund have been ignored by the company. Would never use this company again. read more

Yellow Cab responded to my Taxi Magic request. I waited at least 15 minutes at my first stop for the cab which never moved on the map. Called dispatch and was put in a hold cue. I then walked at least another 1/2 mile in unfamiliar territory and tried Taxi Magic again. The app said my car was on the way, but it never moved on the app. Fast forward 45 minutes: I called dispatch via Taxi Magic and after a shorter hold was able to have a cab pick me up after another 15-20 mins. The car was labeled Executive Taxi. The driver who FINALLY arrived was actually courteous and friendly, but look, people, I was trying to get a cab to pick me up for almost two hours in a strange land. Very stressful! I'm only giving Yellow Cab a 1 star because Yelp doesn't give the ability to do negative numbers. I had a 5:15 am Friday flight out of DFW and booked a Yellow cab the night before. Received confirmation via text. Great right? Wrong. Car was scheduled to arrive at 3:40 am. At 3:39 I called to see where ride was and the operator stated that the driver was 25 minutes away. That is also what their handy dandy app said also for the last 20 minutes. I asked for another driver and they had no one near. They offered no help or resolution only "driver is 25 minutes away". I would have felt better if the operator had just told me to eff off. I had to wake my wife and have her drive us to the airport to get there on time. We had made an appointment for 3am the driver told us at 2:50 am that he was 10 min away at 3:10 he was still yet to arrive only for us to call the company to learn that there appetantely no driver's in the area at first but when they recalled our address they put is on hold for 5 minutes to inform us that he got a flat tire and would not be able to make it. Don't waste time calling this company if you need wheelchair assistance. When you call, they claim someone will call you back - they never do. The "service provider" that took the phone message would only say that they need 2-3 days advance notice to arrange for a ride, and when I asked if Thursday or Friday would work, they said someone would have to call me back, which never happened. Obviously this company discriminates against people who need transportation with their wheelchair, which is an obvious violation of the Americans With Disabilities Act. read more

Cab companies are hard to rate. On the one hand, I love them for taking me places when I know I am going to drink way too much to be driving...and then taking me home too! Yellow Cab has always gotten me to and from the bar safely, even those times when I *may* not remember the ride home. On the other hand, they are not always reliable regarding pickup times, etc. I always use yellow cab and I must admit that there have been times that I call them and after 15 minutes I have to call them back. I usually get dispatchers that are adequate if not friendly. I am a person that will continue calling back every 5 minutes asking where my cab is. They will say "1 minute", I say "you said that 5 minutes ago" and back and forth. This always happens when I have somewhere that I need to be ON TIME, never on a random Friday night. And on days where cabs are in high demand (like St. Patrick's Day, TX/OU) don't even freakin bother because they will never show up. These are the days I walk to where I'm going. And if you are not quite ready when you call the cab or have just lit a cigarette, they will show up in 2 seconds. Murphy's Law. But recently I've learned a most amazing thing. You can schedule your cab pickup in ADVANCE. Either on the phone or on the internets! So if you know you have to be somewhere at 8pm, you can call earlier in the day and tell them you want a pickup at 7:40pm and damn if the cab isn't sitting right there waiting. No calling and sitting there wondering if you are going to be late, no call backs, nothing. It is the ONLY way I will do pickups from my house now. As for the ride home...well, I just find the first one in eyesight or have the bar call. This would have been a 3 star if I had reviewed it before I discovered the schedule ahead, but now it is a solid 4. read more

I know that cabs outside of NYC are harder to deal with, but this company really takes the cake. Several months ago my boyfriend and I thought we'd be responsible citizens and take a taxi to a big beer event near our apartment, rather than drive. We wanted to leave at X time, so 30 mins before went online and ordered a tax for pick-up at that time. We were pretty shocked and upset when the cab picked and basically yelled at us (didn't raise his voice, but was VERY forceful) in saying that we had totally screwed him over by ordering ahead of time. He said that as soon as the order comes in that means he has to go fill it. Since we live so close to the convention center and there are tons of cabs nearby, there is never a wait for a cab for us and no need for us to do that to a cab driver. We said that we thought we'd done what we were supposed to and it seemed like an issue with the company and their policy, but said we'd be sure to not do that again in the future. Fast forward to today. Remembering my lesson, I called for a cab when I needed it. I got a confirmation that one had been dispatched less than a mile from me. And I waited. Then a text came...they weren't coming and I needed to call dispatch. I then found out from a very unconcerned dispatcher that the cab had basically decided to pick up someone else instead on the way to get me and they were trying to find someone, but it'd be 15-20 mins. I told her what I'd been told before and that there are tons of cabs near where I live, but she insisted there were none around me. The cab FINALLY showed up 10 mins after I was supposed to be at my final destination. On the way past the convention center I noticed a line of about 10 cabs just sitting there and waiting for fares. So the lady completely lied to me when she said there were no cabs outside the convention center today and none in the area. I called back and asked for a supervisor and got his voicemail and he hasn't bothered calling back 5 hours later. Coming home I first tried flagging down a cab and even though cabs passed me with their signs lit and no passengers, none would stop. So I called for a cab and gave my cross-road to be told that a cross-roads weren't enough, I needed an exact street address. When I read one off I was told the address didn't exist. WTF? I was finally able to convince her to send one out. The part that is frustrating is that my cab driver this morning (who actually was nice) told me that pretty much all the cab lines in the city are Yellow Cab. Even if they have different names and colors, it's the same company. No wonder they feel they can treat you anyway they want...they have a nice little monopoly in Dallas. read more

Could it be that I'm just getting old and cranky? Could it be arriving very late into DFW and searching for a cab at 12:30 am and not finding one makes for a bad review? Of course, both are possibilities. I breathed a sigh of relief when a cab did show up. I gave the driver my MapQuest directions since I was staying with friends. He looked at it and said, "Where is this?" Uh oh. I said, it's in the Swiss district of Dallas. "I know where that is" he said. Off we went. I began to have a bad feeling when the driver said, I'll turn here. We proceeded to weave through alleys and side streets, nothing like the directions on MapQuest. When I said I thought this seemed wrong, he said "This section of town is bad, and they've cut up the street." Well, we finally did make it to Live Oak, I said I knew the house, to please drive a bit faster till we saw houses, not just businesses. He didn't, going carefully along the road, checking numbers. Let me start off by saying that generally they are always on time, or too early if that makes sense.... and the drivers I have had MOST of the time are very friendly, its only when you try to pay with card that they become a bit combative. Look, I realize they don't like you to pay with a card because its probably a hassle since they don't have electronic readers and have to carbon swipe them, they have to remit a fee to the c-card company (though that should not be the drivers responsibility, so why would they care), they have to report their tips to the IRS if its on a card and documented (god forbid). However, I almost NEVER have cash, I just don't carry it, it only ends up going to beggars at the Maple/Oak lawn gas station anyhow (now i just open up my wallet and say look, no cash, but some of the craftier bastards then ask for me to buy some shit on the card inside). Plus, you guys ADVERTISE you take cards, so tell your drives to stfu about it. Oh and by the way, not that I should be in ANY way obligated to do this, but i generally tip VERY generously when I use a card and I tell the drives that I am going to do so because I know they don't like me using cards, which is my attempt to pacify them if they get annoyed about it. So where did this get me, and why do I have a 2 star review if I am generally pleased? When reviewing my credit card statement recently I noticed a $19.95 charge from Yellowcab, which seemed odd to me because I never take a cab ride that costs more than $6-$8, plus .... $19.95 just seems like an odd number for a cab fare. Also it had been AT LEAST 3 weeks plus since I had used Yellowcab, so I thought something was fishy here. Upon reviewing it with Bank of America's fraud department it turns out the charge was at 3:00 p.m. on a Tuesday (this is the time they actually ran the card, not posted it) -- I would have been at work. Unless I'm missing something and making a mistake, which is possible but i don't see how, this means some asshole cabbie gave himself a nice tip BEYOND the nice tip I already gave him. The ONLY reason I didn't officially dispute it is because I would have to go through the annoying process of getting a whole new debit card, memorize a new card number AGAIN (i JUST got a new card not 2-3 months ago because of fraudulent charges), and wait several weeks for them to review it. For $20 i figured i'd just let the guy have it, and monitor my statement for more shadyness. On a separate not this is kind of making me pissed at Bank of America, how can 4-5 different instances of fraud across TWO different cards happen within a 6 month span? Some security. So, cab driver who tipped himself hoping I wouldn't find out..... I am going to eventually figure out which driver you were, and then I hope you are as good at driving a wheelchair as you are at driving a cab. read more

I used Yellow Cab twice and it's actually been pretty good. I call dispatch with my address and where I'm going.... Fifteen to twenty minutes later, the "minivan" arrives. I really don't need to ride in something that big but whatever...the rates are standard rates so they're fair. Overall pretty good experience. If you're traveling in Dallas and need a car keep these guys in mind as an option. I've only used them twice with good results so I've got my fingers crossed that it will stay that way! I caught a ride from my home to the local grocer and back when my car was in the shop. It was a short trip. The cab driver complained about the short trip after which he took my credit card, made an imprint and I tipped him $5.00 just to give him a little extra. Well, a few weeks (yes... it was WEEKS) later I had a charge for $30.00 from yellow cab on my credit card statement. The taxi fee was only $9.00. That was the amount I signed on my ticket. It was also the amount on the meter. I called yellow cab to dispute this and I was promptly called a "Liar" by everyone I spoke to when I mentioned the amount I was charged was different than the amount I signed for. These were some of the rudest, most awful people who were dismissive of my concerns and quick to call me a lie. Long story short, after three days and many hours on the phone, my $30.00 was eventually refunded. The taxi driver, a young Nigerian man, had held my receipt and had gone back and somehow increased the amount of the fare. When the accounting office called for him to produce my original signed receipt he could not so they refunded my money. Yellow Cab never apologized for calling me a liar or for making me fight the charge over three days. Suggestion: Use CASH when using YELLOW CAB. I had recently paid $21 including tip for the same trip and my husband had just made the same trip for $19 including tip. So I had the exact change for $21 in my wallet which included a tip. When we got to the airport the driver told me it was $25!!!! (which didn't include a tip!) When I said "What?? That can't be right I've made this trip before...he said gruffly " Wel what did you pay? I said $19. He told me that that was the base rate.. I said where is the meter? To which he replied rudely....oh pay me $19 or whatever you want. He never showed me a meter and if it was the gizmo in front of me, it read $7.95. I wish I had gotten his name and number but I do know a little about the driver since he was so chatty during our drive. I was disgusted figuring he played me and was stealing from the company. Supposed to pick me up at my home at 4 am and drive to DFW, I had a confirmed reservation. Cab never showed up, had to rush there in my own car. I booked my reservation online to be picked up at 5:30AM from my home to DFW for a 7am flight. Received notice at 5:10 that my cab was on the way - except it never showed up. I called the reservation line to see what the deal was and the guy said my "reservation was stuck in the system.. it's fixed now." no one showed up for another 30 minutes and I had to drag my fiance out of bed to take me to the airport. I texted the number to cancel my reservation, and it said I didn't even have a reservation in the system anymore - so the guy I called effectively cancelled my reservation instead of dispatching it. I called him back to ask why he cancelled my reservation, and all he said was "I'm sorry you feel that way. have a good day." NEVER USE THIS SERVICE...THEY WILL THREATEN YOU, STALK YOU, AND STEAL YOUR CREDIT INFO AND CONTINUE TO CHARGE YOU! It iced over in Dallas and Super shuttle cancelled on me at the last minute. I needed to get to the airport but with the ice all other companies were booked, so this was the only company that had open reservation spots. The driver, Nabipou Mirhossein Taxi number E269, was polite and despite the icy road, got me to the airport on time and safely. I was so thankful, that I gave him a $20 tip (which was about a 40% tip). About a week later, this cab driver calls me up and demands payment. He claimed that my credit card was declined and threated to come to my house and demand payment IN CASH! I told him that there must be a mistake and to let me to call my credit card company to find out what happened. The credit card company confirmed that there was no reason for the charge to be declined and told me that it must be a mistake on his end (he must have entered the numbers wrong, lost his phone connection during the transaction.. etc.) I called him back and told him what they told me and told him to run the card again, he RUFUSED and started threatening me AGAIN. I asked him for the Yellow Cab's main phone number so I could try and fix it through them, he kept yelling and threating me but finally gave it to me. I called Yellow Cab and straightened everything out....or so I thought. A week later multiple charges from this company for the same amount started showing up on my credit card. I am still fighting to get this resolved. I'll never use this company again. I highly recommend you don't either unless you like strange, psychotic cab men knowing your home address to stalk and steal from you. read more

Hmm.. their website says they take credit cards but last time I tried to use one the cab driver told me he had no more slips (oh and it took him 1 hour to find me despite meticulous instructions). Then he (CREEPY GUY) offered to drive me to an ATM. I told him I had no ATM card. I called the cab company to complain while in his van and he amazingly came up with a credit card slip... apparently his last one. I wish I had asked for the phone number of the guy who took me home the first tme... but alas now I am afraid to take Yellow Cab and get creepy guy. P.S.
