I couldn't believe it took so long for any type of response, but after mulling it over, I thought, "Why not give them one more shot?". I reached out and asked "what do I do to receive this free 1/2 cord?" Since then, I have heard absolutely nothing from Cowboy's Firewood. I had a customer bring in his car this week for a repair. While doing the repair on his car, I noticed a very small leak around an area that we repaired a few years ago. It was minor, and certainly no longer under warranty, but it shouldn't have been leaking at all after we fixed it last time. I ordered the parts and fixed it for free while we did the other repairs it was in for. THAT'S how you take care of your customers, and keep them coming back. There are plenty of other people selling firewood. Thanks, but no thanks. I don't need companies like this. I'm happy to report that I did get my wood. Frustratingly, I informed the business that the delivery needed to be in a pickup truck, not a trailer, due to the size of the roads and tight turns. In spite of this, they sent an unsuspecting driver to my place with a long, gooseneck trailer, and it was a 2 hour ordeal helping him get back out, and a long ordeal for me, moving the wood from where he had to dump it, to where I needed it stacked. read more

I disputed the charge for just 2/3 of original cost (I was willing to pay for the 1/3 delivered). Cowboy's refused that offer. So, I called again. Secured another date for delivery. No one showed a second time. Re-disputed, and the 1/3 payment went through. Fast forward to December 2022: Cowboy's calls and wants to sell me firewood. No acknowledgement of past lack of service; they didn't even introduce themselves; I might have been speaking to the very same person from two years ago. I just can't recommend them. Very poor communication. We sat at home on Saturday all day waiting for the promised delivery. Never came now I have emailed them and returned their text saying no it wasn't delivered. We paid 50 extra to make sure it got here (Saturday) prior to the weather setting in. And yet nothing. No communication again. Very disappointed considering they still have my money and I will not be receiving wood till after the coldest days in 20 years. Updated: Cash the owner called my wife by accident and she wouldn't let him get off the phone. Now the wood won't be here till Tuesday. DON'T USE COWBOYS FIREWOOD! I would give them minus 10 rating if I could. We ordered a cord of wood on November 15 through their website. The credit card charge cleared on the 17th for $733. They said they would text me when they had my order ready. After a week of hearing nothing, I tried to message them on their website. No response. I tried to call - no answer so I left a message. After another week of hearing NOTHING, I tried calling again and there was still no answer. A month later, I've tried texting, calling and email and I've heard nothing. So I'm out $733 for NOTHING, and seemingly no way to contact them. They took my money and ran. I've lodged a dispute with my credit card company, so maybe I'll get some relief there. Maybe not. The dishonesty is the worst part. I ordered a half cord of firewood on Dec 15th. I was given a delivery date of 12/19, but didn't receive anything until 12/22, when a small amount of firewood was dropped off and I was only notified by a delivery receipt that was sent via e-mail. A half cord is supposed to measure 8'L x 4'H, but what I received was 5'L x 2'H, which I figure to be more like 1/6 of a cord. I called to complain and was told that the driver thought I'd just ordered a 1/4 cord, which would still have been more than I got anyway. Between 12/22 and New Year's Day, I was given a total of six different times to expect the remainder of the firewood to be delivered, all of which came and went with no delivery. The times just kept getting bumped, and I kept being told tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow. Eventually Dylan showed up with enough wood to make it up to a half cord. He got halfway through the job, said "I need to run to the gas station, I'll be RIGHT BACK", then took off. That was two hours ago, and he's not responding to any calls or texts, so it looks like that's it. Two and a half weeks of frustration, and I still get shorted. Edit - Dylan texted me three hours after saying he would be "right back" to say the delivery had been completed and he had "personally measured" what was there. Terrible experience with seriously questionable business ethics. I ordered both wood and a full rack. The rack came wired together, instead of welded, and the wood contained numerous pieces that were longer than their advertised measurements and too long to fit into my fireplace. After the first night the wired rack and the wood stack fell over. I used the the "customer service" texting function on the cowboy firewood website and within a day i was speaking with the owner. At first, he was very apologetic and explained that he was having problems with some of his contractors in the North Texas area and would make it right with me. We scheduled a date and...... his team never showed. So I tried reaching him via his direct cell number and via the companies customer service text ; weeks would go by with no response. Finally he replied and said that his guys would be out the following Thursday. That date came and went. Again, many attempts to contact him went un-answered. Finally, i decided to create a new email and entered that into the companies customer service text system to see if they would respond. guess what... bingo... quick response! We'll, right until I told them who I was.. then they went silent again. After numerous texts to the owners personal cell he finally replied with this response " Upon further inspection wood was delivered correctly, and rack was delivered correctly." So if you are looking to pay top dollar for a broken rack and wood that doesn't fit your fireplace I would definitely recommend these guys. Short of that; go someone else! read more

I wish I could give zero stars. It's interesting that the reviews are so split: either Cowboy does great or terrible. I had a terrible experience. Everything was great until the wood was supposed to be delivered yesterday. I waited until early afternoon to check, wanting to give them time. I was told the wood was loaded and Dylan would be delivering it. I was given his telephone number to find out when. However, Dylan never answered his phone -- not that surprising as he was probably working. But, his email was not setup so I could not leave a message. I checked back in with Shane T and he also could not reach Dylan. About 6 PM, I asked if they could deliver today. At 6:14, Shane T texted that Dylan was on his way to pick up more firewood and would deliver last night. I told him to not do that since it was dark and there were no lights where it would be delivered. Also, it's at least 45 minutes from San Marcos to my house so I figured the earliest Dylan would be there would be about 8 PM. After that text message, crickets. No replies to multiple text and email messages and no phone number to call. I've asked for a credit to my credit card and will dispute the charges if necessary. read more

When I inquired about not showing up, I simply got a message that the wood would be delivered a week later. A week later, still no wood, no message, nothing.
