So much fun. I totally recommend coming here if visiting Texas especially if you have a kid. Truly got the Texas experience coming to the stockyards. Talked to the very knowledgeable people handling the bulls and they told us the story of why they do the cattle run. We watched the cattle run, had authentic Texas BBQ, and got my son a cowboy hat so he could sit on a real bull, and then ride the mechanical one. read more

This review is for the stockyards station, not all of the stockyards. This is an actual operating train station but looks like a quirky mall. Visited during the eclipse and there was a huge crowd packed into the station. Next time I looked up, a large historic train pulled right into what had looked to me like the main aisle of the mall, with people scattering right and left. My jaw hit the ground, it was such an unexpected sight. Loved the feel of this place, there are a number of quirky shops here. There is a taxidermy store that has every type of stuffed animal, including full sized polar bears and a moose, which was unexpected. Would love to explore more on a slightly less crowded day. read more

My friend drove us to Stockyards Station from Dallas because she wanted to show us a different side of Texas. It was about 45 minutes to get to Fort Worth, so the drive wasn't too bad. There was a small farmer's market where vendors selling honey, fruits, boot jewelry, etc. We walked around a bit and saw police riding horses, statues, and stores selling touristy stuff. There were a lot of places selling boots that were high quality, but too expensive for me LOL. More shops were scattered in the interior of one building. They were selling knick knacks, beef jerky, and souvenirs. There are a couple of areas for photo ops and when I was there, there looked like local band singing live, so you have some music to listen to while you shop! The only thing we ended up getting was some honey and the guy selling it also gave us some fresh peaches too. While we were waiting for the cattle drive, we ate them- the peaches were so juicy and sweet! The cattle drive was pretty short, lasting only a few minutes. I thought the longhorns would walk a lot faster, but they were just moseying a long. I heard they usually have more of them before, but maybe because of the weather?? Also, my friend told me they would do some kind of show with them, so it was kind of boring to watch. read more

I needed a pair of socks. Should have gone to Sockyards Station. This is the place to come if you want all kinds of touristy kitsch stuff while you are visiting the famous Stockyards of Fort Worth which is one of the coolest parts of Texas. And also one of the most touristy. It's a super cool part of town and it has everything you might ever imagine that a massive gift shop in Texas would have. Or a gift mall really because there are so many different stores within this big mall type thing. read more

If you've come down here to get a quick bite to eat at Riscky's BBQ, Haberno's or any other venue that would feature Tex Mex, burgers and BBQ while watching either the 11 AM or 4 PM Cattledrive, the Stockyards Station is for you. For those visiting for the first time, this isn't the entire stockyards area. Its just a large shopping venue located across the street from the petting zoo and cattledrive path for livestock to parade down E Exchange that is located within the Stockyards itself. There is a parking next to the Stockyards Station that ranges from $5-10 (depending how long you are there), yet there is also free parking directly across the street. Just be careful of the one-way exit out. Folks tend to run through that exit instead of circling all the way around just to get those free parking spots. If you have a huge appetite, there is nothing better than stopping at the Stockyards Station before beginning your night out in the Stockyards. If you are a meat eater, you will be in heaven! If you are a vegetarian, maybe not so much. read more

I'm from California and I asked my friend to take me to the place that is very Texas vibe. And she did. It was a lovely place to shop and walk around. There's bars and restaurants. Surprisingly there's shake shack too. They said it's best to go there if there's a parade. There wasn't when we were there though or prolly we missed it. On Saturdays & Sundays there is a "gun fight show" twice a day here- and while very campy, it was fun to watch. Also an antique train goes through the station and you can ride it around the Stockyards. Random fact: Stop in the sports store for a delicious wine slushee. read more

My husband and I used the stockyards as our reception after our ceremony. We had a blast! The heritage room has a more industrial/rustic vibe than cowboy, which is exactly what we were looking for. It didn't require much decoration because it's such a beautiful open space. Plenty of room for our guests to social distance during our Covid wedding! Ethel handled all of the planning with me and was extremely helpful and responsive. She made sure everything went off without a hitch and really took the stress off my shoulders. Really nice area, lots to see in a short walking space for bringing visiting friends on a hot Texas day! Wish DFW had a good subway/train system to connect cities to avoid traffic & driving back to Dallas after a night of fun. The food choices are terrific from BBQ to upscale to casual bars. Wife and I were invited for a catered BBQ dinner in the Lone Star room at Stockyards Station. The room was nice, but not spectacular. There were no pictures, decorations, or memorabilia that indicated this used to be part of a famous Texas cattle stockyard. It was a disappointment for me not to see some history of this Texas landmark. Very few shops located at this end of the stockyards and they were all closed by 9 pm with the exception of a BBQ restaurant. read more

There is lots of stuff to do here. I loved Riscky's food, they have great shops and on the weekends they walk the cattle through town twice a day. It's a must visit if you are in Fort Worth. I would say skip the carriage rides out front-they are not worth it, but maybe take your picture with a long horn instead if you want to have a souvenir. read more

This is a very cool space and I enjoyed the experience. They have lots of great little shops scattered around the interior of the one floor building here. They have three party rooms that were all occupied and this place looks like it is still intact from the 18th century. It is like cowboy heaven here as they still have the livestock pens intact on the back side of the venue. I was here to MC a wedding reception and to provide the entertainment. The room was perfect. It held the 160 + guests comfortably and the entertainment stage was just the right size for a five piece band. As far as I could tell, renting the space here included setting up and cleaning up plus hiring your own caterer and bar staff. They do a cowboy show here just about every day that includes a Texas cattle drive. I did not get to see that but the area was bustling with all kinds of people who wanted to see and interact with the cowboys that were roaming around on foot and by horse. I give Stockyard Station of Fort Worth, Texas four outstanding Yelp stars and I sure would like to see more of what goes on here the next time I get to visit. read more

A typical tourist trap. The Stockyards capitalizes on the western tradition of Fort Worth. There is a bar, rodeo stadium, restaurants and various knick knack shops with a distinctly cowboy theme. I found myself here just to pass the time. This being Christmas season, I picked up some Christmas ornaments to give out to my coworkers. Stockyard Stations is the small and open-air shopping area in the touristy historic district. The railroad tracks running through the center is pretty cool. One end leads nowhere and the other heads up to Grapevine, Texas. There are a few small shops to browse through. Souvenirs, sporting goods, or cowboy boots, they got them. Sadly, there's only one main restaurant here (Riscky's BBQ) and a virtual gun range on the other end. This Station has potential for much more. read more

It's strange, most friends I've met that have lived in TX for years have never been to the Stockyards. Yes, it's very touristy. Yes, it's crowded on the weekends. But dang, it's fun! I've been twice now, and made the cattle march both times (11:30a) - where the livestock are moved from one area to another and are marched down through the streets while onlookers snap pictures. It's pretty cool. There's plenty to keep the little ones busy (and adults) like a cattle pen maze, a petting zoo (with llama), mechanical bull, and plenty of places to shop for souvenirs or beyond. There's a small record shop if you keep walking down the breezeway- it's titles towards county western but there are some good finds if you poke around. There's a gunfight right after the 11:30a cattle walk, so follow the crowds to watch that one. he weekend tend to bring other interesting events as well. We experience a Native American ceremony, complete with drum circle and a couple of men in full headdress- very cool stuff. There's also usually pony rides ($6) and spots where you can sit on a bull and snap a photo for your Instagram account. There are rodeos every Friday and Saturday night, plus weekly livestock auctions. The parking is plentiful and if you arrive early enough you can drive right down the main street and pay the $5 to get a primo spot. Totally worth it on a warmer day. read more

Very good place place for photos. We were visiting from out of town stepping into the recreated time Warp was awesome for us. I love all animals so seeing the cows and horses that you can take a picture with or ride in a old style wagon with was cool. There was also a petting zoo that was the highlight of my trip here but would be awesome for kids. There's also alot of shops, bars and restaurants to choose from but we never ate or bought anything. I had sooo much fun here. I told my brother, who came with me, I had more fun here seeing the cattle and Texan sights here than I did while visiting Chicago and some parts of Europe. I was so impressed with how authentic, in theory, the entire area was, by that I mean u felt like u were walking though an old west type place. I of course got there in time to see the cattle walk at 11:30 and the gun fight that followed. I was not let down, now be reminded it's not that special, but I enjoyed it so much. I couldn't help but smile the whole time seeing the cattle walk by and the cowboys in full attire. Also the whole atmosphere was exactly what I expected, and wanted really. I especially loved walking through the fun little gift stores and the restaurants, it was all very exciting for me, as I'm nothing more than a city dweller. I would suggest anyone in Dallas too see this sight, it was really fun for me. read more

We didn't have the time for the all day round trip train ride that leaves Grapevine and goes to the Stockyards, so I suggested we drive to the Stockyards and ride the hour round trip train for fun. This probably wasn't a good idea. For $10 dollars per adult, the price isn't bad, but you're pretty much paying to sit in the train. That's it. The trains are open air vintage so there is no air conditioner. It was very hot. The train ride consists of a half hour down the track, passing pretty much nothing except pipelines and sewers with a few glimpses at downtown Fort Worth from a distance, then, after a half an hour, the train stops and sits still for a good 15 or so minutes, without us being told anything. The engine is unhooked and passes the train, reconnecting to the back end, and we were pulled backwards to the station. My dad noticed the seats seemed to move, so he figured out how to turn it around, but if he hadn't, we'd have all ridden totally backwards. The staff was friendly, but I don't think I'll ever do this again. There was no point to it. read more

If you are in Ft. Worth, you've got to check it out! The cattle crossing is fun to see, although they are in no hurry to get from point A to B. Expect big crowds on weekends. Plenty of street vendors and photo opps here. A little cheesy, but great for kids. read more

The train ride is SO BORING that I want to choke myself. It takes an hour, doesn't go past anything interesting. You can't drink. There's barely any food.
