I can't believe this plumber has 2 1/2 stars. Let me tell you my experience. This plumber is a designated plumber for Acclaimed Home Warranty here in St. George. I'll try to be brief. We had a hot water heater go out. We called Acclaimed and they sent over a technician from Cox Plumbing. He determines the hot water cannot be fixed but discovers its under warranty. He picks up a water heater, I can't tell if it is new or used, from somewhere and installs it. He leaves hoping it works. We immediately discover it doesn't make hot water. We call him back to let him know of our difficulty and this is what he tells us. This is now a warranty issue and we'll have to call Rheem. Have you ever heard of anyone installing something, walking away and never be accountable for his work? Be aware, this is what Cox does. We have now been without hot water since May 10. I would not recommend them for any kind of service. read more

He arrived, was courteous and knowledgeable, and quickly installed a garbage disposal to our complete satisfaction. Answered all our questions and demonstrated how to care for and reset, if needed, the new disposal. My home warranty company picked this company or I would not use him at all. Took 4 days to get a call back to schedule appointment. Missed his appointment. 1 week to order a 50 gallon water heater that everyone stocks. Missed his first appointment to install, and has now missed 2 more appointments he made with me. Rod Cox Plumbing installed our water heater. We've smelled natural gas in our house ever since. Questar came out and red tagged our water heater and furnace citing: 1. No combustion air. 2. No t&p drain. 3. Vent needs to be upsized. 4. Hole in flex line. 5. Needs an earthquake safety strap (2nd one). 6. Improper installation. I have no problem with Lowe's, but they contracted this plumber to do this and he didn't perform up to their standards nor State of Utah code. I don't like to put stuff like this on Facebook, but when you expect someone to do a job, you don't want them to put your family's health and safety at risk. read more

Do not use this company. My home warranty company assigned me this plumber after my water heater failed. After approximately a week of dealing with Leslie she told me twice she would call me back about scheduling details and never did. Her husband, the plumber, showed up at my home on a Friday and told me they could install the water heater the following Tuesday and I told him I would confirm that appointment after the other contractors finished the water damage repairs, and I did so. I contacted them Monday night and Leslie told me they had three other water heater repairs and would try to make adjustments. She again never called back until Tuesday morning at 10 AM to tell me they could not show up until Wednesday. Then the home warranty company called to tell me the plumber advised them of $630 of out-of-pocket costs I had to pay. I called Leslie to confirm these costs because another plumber advised that $400 of those was not required if those items were already there. I canceled them and arranged for another plumber through my home warranty company. read more

Was referred to Cox Plumbing and Heating through our homeowners warranty. We had a garbage disposal that was pouring water out every time we would turn it on. Since this was covered under our home warranty we tried to schedule with Cox Plumbing for a week. They would never commit to a day and time and the wife would keep saying she had to check with her husband as to when he "wanted" to come out. I called everyday for a week to see if she found out from her husband when he "wanted" to come out and replace our garbage disposal. Finally on Friday when I called yet again, she said that her husband would come by some time on Saturday on his way to Salt Lake City. I asked her approximately what time and she said some time on Sat. So I asked if we could at least narrow it down to am or pm. Hesitantly, she said in the afternoon. Well.....after waiting ALL afternoon and evening, he was a no show. No phone call or anything. Very disappointing and cannot believe someone runs their business this way. read more
