What impressed me most was that he worked right alongside his crew every day and appeared to work just as hard as anyone on the team. The crew consistently arrived just before 7:00 AM, but never started work early out of consideration for us and our neighbors. They were dependable, communicative, and showed up exactly when they said they would. Another thing that really stood out was how clean and organized they kept the job site. At the end of each day, they thoroughly cleaned the area around our home, swept the sidewalks, and carefully searched for nails and debris. Chris was also very accurate and honest with his estimates. He explained upfront that any damaged wood replacement would be additional because it's impossible to know the extent of hidden damage ahead of time. In our case, there was a significant amount of dry rot and insect damage, but all of the extra woodwork still came in well within the estimated range he had provided. The project was also completed about a day earlier than expected. As an added touch, Chris even offered to paint the fascia for us if I supplied the matching paint. My A/C quit working. Cody was referred from a friend and he provided the first quote I obtained. He came to my home and inspected my two A/C units. He was incredibly professional and thorough. He went up into my attic and inspected all of my duct work. He inspected by breaker boxes to ensure they weren't the issue. He checked all of my filters throughout my home (they were in need of replacement). He went and purchased the filters and came back and changed them the same day. Upon completion of his inspections, it was determined that my 8 year old AC needed replacement, it was beyond repair. He provided me a replacement quote within hours of leaving my home. I am in the practice of receiving three opinions and quotes when undergoing a home repair/project. I proceeded to obtain two more quotes from two of the longest running AC companies in San Diego. There was ZERO comparison in professionalism and work ethic! One technician came in, spent two minutes trouble shooting just the AC. Was rude and barely spoke English and said, "It needs replacement, I'll send you a quote". The quote for the identical replacement unit was 2K more than Legacy's quote. The third companies technician was a very young man. He was friendly. He immediately commented on the quality of the pet food that I was feeding my cats. Verbatim " I used to work for Petco until I saw this advertisement for an apprentice program with this company to learn how to come in and quote for AC repair". However, when it was determined that my AC was not repairable, he informed me he wasn't qualified to determine and quote a replacement and a Sr. technician would have to come back out. What!!! I then called Cody and hired him for the replacement. He scheduled me in within 48 hours. Installed my new AC promptly, professionally and it cools my upstairs far better than the original AC which was brand new in a brand new house 8 years ago. I shared my experience with Cody. He explained to me that for nearly two decades, he was a Sr. employee at Mauzy Heating and Air. Mauzy, along with many other of the long standing, large conglomerate AC companies in San Diego have been bought out by private equity groups (including the two I had out for comparison quotes). Cody stayed on w Mauzy when the company was bought out but it soon became clear that the big private take over and restructure caused a loss of professionalism, personalism and the family value that he prided himself on... So of courses I used the same company when I was purchasing my home back in 2020 and after inspection, I was informed that the roof probably had about five years left.. five years later I started noticing some visible wear on the shingles so I called the same company. They came out and confirmed that the shingles now needed to be replaced (showed pictures of moisture under the shingles). Start to finish the entire roof replacement was about 2 days, which is impressive with how great it looks. Now some people might think that it's expected for the roof to look really good because it's brand new but I drive around neighborhoods all the time and I see brand new roofs that don't look great...We added in some vents for the attic (with their suggestion), which I really didn't think would make such a big difference, but I gotta tell you they have. During the last few months, we had some intense rain in Chula Vista and discovered our roof had a…read moreleak. So we contacted our insurance and they sent out someone to give us a quote. That company had their guy climb on to the second story roof and look at the entire roof for damage. He also walked inside are attic space to see if there was any damage. All he found was some tile that shifted and he said they would need to reseal an area around where the ducting for the AC was at. Quote was around $1200 and since our insurance deductible was way higher than that, insurance said it's on us to get it fixed. So we decided to "shop around" and reached out to RM Roofing for a quote since they had good reviews on Yelp. We scheduled and app for 2 weeks out and told them we had a leak in the roof. Their guy LITERALLY came out to our house, walks to the backyard, looks up at the roof, and tells my wife "I'm gonna send you 2 quotes, one to do the entire roof and one to do a 10x10 section" WTF?!!! He didn't even climb the roof to look at the damage. Nor did he go in the attic. I have no idea how these guys have a 4+ star rating. Fast forward a week and we get an email saying the first quote is $2950 & second quote is $6950 (love how companies say $2950 instead of $3,000 so the customer thinks they actually put some thought into getting an "accurate" quote) I work as a mechanic. Imagine a customer bringing a car to me and saying "my car is smoking" or "there is a leak under my car" and I just look at the hood (I don't open it) and say "okay, I'll give you a quote to change out your entire engine and I'll give you a quote to rebuild your entire engine and you let me know what you want to do?" This is ridiculous to think you can get an accurate quote by standing in the back yard and looking at the second floor roof and saying "I'll send you 2 quotes" Would NEVER recommend these guys to anyone.
